AMD RX 480 Overclocking Tool RevealedNoticia:
As part of the new Crimson Edition drivers, AMD has been taking the time to revamp their software. Dubbed Radeon Software, the new software suite aims to replace the aging Catalyst control panel with a new fresh way to monitor and control your Radeon GPU. In line with the new Polaris RX 480 graphics card release, AMD has been reportedly been working on a new overclocking suite.
The new overclocking software has been rumored to be called Radeon WattMan. Compared to the previous official tool, it is much improved. In fact, most users likely went with third party solutions like Trixx or Afterburner in lieu of AMD’s own toolkit. From what we’ve seen of WattManm, it is much improved in every way.
With WattMan, users can set custom speeds and running states, each with their own fan speed and voltage. This allows for much better fine-grained control over each overclocked state, allowing for better performance and noise. Users can also set custom fan curves and memory clock speeds as well. In many ways, it takes what third party suites have done to the next level. Hopefully, the RX 480 will fulfill some of the overclocking expectations many have been hoping for.
