Apple reportedly working on new, deeply integrated Beats-based service to debut at $7.99

Apple has been working overtime to build an entirely new streaming music service in the wake of its $3 billion acquisition of Beats Electronics. The as-yet unnamed service is said to be entirely Apple-designed but will utilize the technology and music content that powered Beats Music.Based on multiple sources within Apple and the music industry, we now have a pretty good idea of what the final product will look like.
For starters, the new service will be deeply integrated into Apple's ecosystem which means updating the Music app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as injecting iTunes with the new tech. Apple TV will also receive a new app, we’re told.
Despite the fact that there will be some overlapping features, Apple isn’t planning to ditch iTunes Match, iTunes Radio or the iTunes Store.

The new service is likely to debut at $7.99 per month which would undercut most of the competition by $2 and for the first time, the Cupertino-based company will offer an Android application developed entirely in-house. A version for Windows Phone isn’t in the pipeline due to its low market share (nor is a web-based application).
Despite having a talent-laden team working on it, however, production hasn’t exactly gone smoothly. As one source put it, the process “has been a mess.” This combined with a lack of clarity over the direction of the project has pushed its launch back from March potentially all the way back to WWDC in June.

Apple is making a Beats powered music streaming service

Apple is currently building a new music streaming service with features and technologies from Beats Music, according to new reports. The new service will operate on iOS, Apple TV and in a surprising twist, possibly Android as well.
This news comes from 9to5Mac, which has a pretty good reputation when it comes to Apple leaks. According to the report, the new streaming service won’t just be a re-brand of Beats Music, it will have a brand new interface designed by Apple, the old color scheme will be gone and Beats Music profiles will be merged with Apple ID accounts.

However, old Beats Music features like Activities, Mixes and Playlists will remain. The yet to be named service will also be capable of searching through both the iTunes and Beats Music catalog.
Apple is hoping to cut down on the $9.99 monthly subscription price with the company leaning towards a $7.99 price tag, which will help it compete better with the likes of Spotify. An Android version of the app is apparently also in the works, making this the first time Apple will have launched an app on Android.
The development process has had a few issues along the way but apparently Apple’s music streaming service will launch this year with an announcement set to take place at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference.
