    Titanfall 2 [PC, PS4, X1]

Titanfall 2 Might Be Coming To PS4

Console wars have been around ever since the two major competitors in the console world came face to face, namely Sony’s PS4 and Microsoft’s Xbox (Not counting Nintendo because it hosts a different set of gaming and is not compared in the console world to these two). Gamers have always had their sides in the war and now it is becoming increasingly popular among gamers saying that PC is the way to go because it the least disputed territory in gaming and because it hosts the same type of games. You, as a gamer, have probably chosen yours and this will come as a small shock. Yes, reports are that “Titanfall 2″ might also feature on the PlayStation 4.

The Popular Multiplayer First-Person Shooter Game Comes to PS4

As it says in the heading, Titanfall is a 2014 multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It’s first part is a Microsoft Windows and Xbox Exclusive whereas the second part has its fair share of question marks. It is being speculated that the game will “be a bigger footprint than just a single platform” as said by Blake Jorgensen (CFO at Electronic Arts), during today’s Technology, Internet & Media Conference in San Francisco. He dropped a huge bomb on the gaming community and in full context he said:

“Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.”
While the coming of Titanfall 2 remains officially unannounced, Jorgensen did mention that the game’s developers will “probably have another Titanfall game” and it could come to PlayStation 4 platform. The game, before its release, was one of the most highly anticipated titles, probably because of the legacy of Call of Duty carried by its developers. But even after its release the game won over 60 awards at its E3 2013 reveal, including a record-breaking six E3 Critics Awards. It also won official awards at Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show.
The game has generally received positive reviews all around and Xbox team has received another big blow after the decline of its sales continuously as compared to the PS4. With the lineup of exclusive for the PS4, the Xbox team will have to work hard if they still want to be in this console war. Right now its not looking good for the Microsoft console.

Titanfall sequel ‘probably’ in the works, won’t be exclusive

The sequel to Microsoft’s first big exclusive title of 2014, Titanfall, is likely being worked on according to an EA executive. Additionally, the sequel won’t be platform exclusive, something that has been hinted at several times in the past. Allowing more people to actually buy should also result in higher sales.
“We haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game,” Blake Jorgensen, Electronic Arts’ chief financial officer, said during a talk at the Technology, Internet & Media Conference. “It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.”

Jorgensen didn’t mention a release window for the game but did hint that the company plans to launch a new first person shooter title every year that isn’t necessarily Battlefield. “So, this year Battlefield Hardline, next fiscal year Battlefront. The following year probably another Battlefield, maybe a Titanfall on the way. You’re gonna have that kind of rotation always, but it won’t be the same exact franchise that runs the risk of getting tired.”
The original Titanfall is exclusive to Microsoft platforms including the PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Maybe we will see a Titanfall sequel announced for next year over the summer.

Microsoft Will Try For Titanfall 2 Timed Exclusivity And Fail – Patcher

Titanfall is a Multiplayer First Person Shooter video game developed by respawn entertainment. The part one of the game was a release of 2014 and an exclusive to the Xbox. Earlier last month, news was reported about the game that it’s sequel would not be an exclusive to the Xbox console when CFO at Electronic Arts Blake Jorgensen said:
“Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.”
At the moment, it is still speculation that the game will not be an Xbox exclusive but several of the analysts think so that the game this time round will be featuring on the PlayStation 4 as well as the Xbox One.

“Titanfall 2 Will Be a Title For Holiday ’17” Michael Patcher

If this is true that the title will now be featuring on the PlayStation aswell, will it be possible that it is a timed exclusive to the Xbox One? Its probable and Michael Patcher certainly thinks so. Given Microsoft’s track record, taking the Rise of the Tomb Raider into account, it is possible that Microsoft will try to keep the game a timed exclusive to the console. In an interview to Gamingbolt, Patcher said:

“Respawn Entertainment made a game [Titanfall] in about four years with 75 guys. And Vince Zampella will have a new game on multiple platforms probably in three years. He’ll beef up the studio and he is really good at it. So I would expect, since Titanfall came out in March of ‘14, you’ll see Titanfall 2 probably by Holiday of ‘17, so I expect that they’ll announce it at next year’s E3, a year from now. But yes it will be a multiplatform game and yes, Microsoft will offer something for a timed exclusive,”
Choosing his side in the console war, he added:
“There’s so much time between now and Holiday of ‘17. Let’s see if Sony continues to advance, and continues to outpace Xbox One in sales, then no, I don’t think you’re ever going to see a title that’s Xbox One exclusive. If Sony keeps the lead, I mean, they’re roughly outselling the Xbox by 50% or more, then no. Nobody would. By then you’re talking about 65 or 80 million PS4s and 40 or 50 million Xbox Ones. Nobody’s going to give away the potential to sell 60 million more copies of a game.”
Patcher believes that the game will release on the current gen consoles, i.e. the PS4 and the Xbox One. He showed clearly through his words that his favourite console was the PS4 about which he believed would continue to outsell the Xbox and that the gap in sales between the would continue to expand. Would you agree with patcher that Xbox One will fail to challenge the PS4 in the coming generation? or do you disagree that the Xbox will have tricks up its sleeve to counter the PlayStation? Let us know your views in the comments section.

Titanfall 2 rumored to include traditional campaign, many more weapons

According to Respawn Entertainment's Community Manager, Abbie Heppe, Titanfall 2 could see a traditional campaign and many more weapons added to it over its predecessor.

Bella Ryse from The EXL Podcast asked Heppe about a campaign and more weapons for Titanfall 2, Heppe wasn't specific. But, she also didn't deny the possibility of these things, reiterating that Respawn knows what the fans want,t and that the developer has some ideas, too. Heppe teased: "When you work on a game for so long, there's always lots of things we - especially everyone here internally has all different sorts of things [they want to do]".

She continued: "We've definitely heard the feedback. Obviously, I can't comment on what we're doing in the next game, but the really nice thing about working on a sequel is that we've established the core of what Titanfall is. We have assets, we have an engine, we have all of these things that we laid the foundation for in the first game that now we can really build off of in the second". Heppe finished, by teasing: "So, I think there's going to be a lot of stuff that people are going to be excited about".

Titanfall 2 launching sometime between April 2016 and March 2017

The sequel to Titanfall is coming, thanks to EA's latest earnings call revealing some information on Titanfall 2. EA said that Titanfall 2 wouldn't be coming until at least 2H 2016, or closer to 2017.

Blake Jorgensen, EA's Chief Financial Officer, said in a response to a question about Titanfall 2: "You should assume that's not in fiscal '16; it's more likely in fiscal '17". With EA's fiscal 2017 running from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind Titanfall 2, has said that the sequel to the mech-based first-person shooter would be "multiplatform" teasing that it would arrive on the PS4.

The original Titanfall was released onto the Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, but never made it to Sony's consoles. Titanfall 2, when it's released, should reach the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Respawn Confirms Titanfall 2 Won’t Appear This Year at E3 – Might Come to Gamescom 2015

Even though it has been more than a year now since Electronic Arts released its brand new, most critically acclaimed multiplayer first-person shooter video game exclusively on the Xbox consoles, it looks like the publisher is not planning to bring the mech back on stage any time soon. Despite being confirmed that a sequel to the game is in development not only for Xbox One, but for PlayStation 4 and likely PC as well, Respawn Entertainment has just ruled out any chance of fans getting a glimpse of Titanfall 2 next month at E3.

Respawn Entertainment CEO Says the Studio Won’t Be Showing Anything this Year at E3

First title from Respawn Entertainment, a studio formed by Infinity Ward founders Vince Zampella and Jason West, Titanfall is a first-person shooter that shook up the arena of online multiplayer shooters when it was launched last year exclusively on Xbox consoles. The game attracted millions of gamers with its giant playable mechs and quick methods of traversal. However, as soon as the game came out, it seemed obvious that the next game in the series would not be limited to Xbox platform.
A couple of months ago, Zampalla confirmed that Titanfall 2 is in development, and this time, not only Xbox One, but PC and PlayStation 4 players will also be able to enjoy all the multiplayer awesomeness with giant robots. However, if you were aware of all this, and were expecting the developer to reveal the game next month at E3, you might get a little disappointed here. Zampella just announced via Twitter today that the studio won’t be showing off multi-platform sequel Titanfall 2 at E3, or anything else for that matter. He expressed his excitement at having nothing to worry about this year during E3.

Vince Zampella @VinceZampella For everyone asking, we aren't showing anything at E3 this year. I'll get to actually see all the games!

While it is clear that Titanfall 2 won’t be anywhere at E3 this year, there is still very little room in Zampella’s tweet to conclude that Electronic Arts themselves might at least announce the game with a logo/name. E3 is of course the most important gaming trade fair of the year, however, it’s clearly not the only place for Respawn to reveal Titanfall 2. Gamescom comes only a couple of months after E3, and Cologne, Germany-based trade show is only second to E3 itself for game announcements.

Titanfall 2 Looking “Fantastic”; Relationship Respawn Extremely Strong; More Details In Months Ahead

Titanfall 2 is looking “fantastic”, and the relationship with its developer, Respawn Entertainment, is “extremely strong” according EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson. More details regarding the next Titanfall will be revealed in the months ahead.

During EA’s earnings call for the 3rd quarter of their fiscal year 2016, Wilson was asked about development progress on Respawn’s upcoming new title, and the overall relationship with them to possibly expand the Titanfall franchise to additional titles.
Colin Sebastian – Robert W. Baird & Company, Inc. – Analyst
Great, thanks. Was wondering if you could comment on the progress of the next Titanfall, and with that the overall relationship with Respawn, if for instance, there are opportunities to expand that relationship to a couple other titles. And then I was hoping Peter could expand on the EA Sports opportunity: how large do you guys think this could be, how impactful could be to the overall business over the near term, and then the longer-term as well. That would be helpful. Thanks

Titanfall 2 looking “fantastic”, more details in months ahead

While Wilson noted that it’s a bit early to talk about details regarding Titanfall 2, he did reveal that he has seen the game in advance. According Wilson, having seen the game, it’s looking “fantastic”. The relationship with Titanfall developer Respawn is “extremely strong”, and EA has great faith in them. Furthermore, more details regarding the next Titanfall, will be revealed in the months ahead.
Andrew Wilson – Electronic Arts Inc. – CEO
I’ll take the Titanfall question. Again, it’s a little early to start talking about the details of Titanfall in this juncture, and that wasn’t the purpose of raising it. What I would say, having seen the game, is it’s looking fantastic. Our relationship with Respawn is extremely strong; we have great faith in that entire team to build a spectacular game and are really looking forward to sharing more details in the months ahead.
We can’t wait for details regarding the new Titanfall, which is supposed to be a multi-platform title. We’ll keep you posted.

First Titanfall 2 Details Shared By Lead Writer – There Will Be A Campaign And Maybe Even A TV Show

We all know that Titanfall 2 is coming before April 2017 (March seems a good guess, since the next Battlefield will have Holiday 2016 and the original Titanfall released in March 2014) and recently Electronic Arts’ CEO Andrew Wilson said that it’s looking fantastic.
However, we have a few more concrete details today thanks to Lead Writer Jesse Stern, who was interviewed on the topic by Forbes. Titanfall 2 will have a full fledged campaign since now Respawn Entertainment has the resources to craft it, and it will set in a different world where science meets magic (absent in the first game) despite still being grounded and realistic, according to Stern.
So we are doing our best to deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed for excavation and construction , demolition and working the land, and what happens when they are turned into instruments of war.
What inspires us is the junction of technological advancement with the inevitability of conflict and war and what the next war might look like. In Titanfall 2 there will be a lot of [scenes] where science meets magic, but keeping it grounded and dirty and human and real.
    Advertisements
Stern also said that the multiplayer will be even better than in the first game, and that Titanfall 2 will be available on multiple platforms, though we knew that already.
Stern was the lead writer of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but he had previously worked on NCIS for five seasons as writer, producer and co-executive producer. Apparently, he wants to get back into the TV show business and that includes a spin-off project for Titanfall, which is being investigated in partnership with Lionsgate TV.
It would be very expensive. We are trying to find a way to tell a story in the worlds we want to be in and produce in the TV model.
Would you like to see a TV series based on Titanfall? Moreover, what’s your current hype for Titanfall 2? Tell us in the comments.

Titanfall 2 Development Team Almost 30% Larger Than the Original – Respawn Will Hire for its Unannounced Game

Titanfall 2 is coming, and not only will the sequel to one of the biggest 2014 releases will feature a separate full-fledged campaign unlike its predecessor, it will also not be a Microsoft-exclusive title and will launch on all current-gen platforms some time before April next year. That’s according to the game’s publisher Electronic Arts. With that said, it is quite understandable why – as recently confirmed by developer Respawn Entertainment – the team responsible for Titanfall 2 is 30 percent larger than the one that worked on the first title.

About 90 People are Working on Titanfall 2 Compared to 70 That Worked on the First Game – Team Working on the New IP is Currently “Small”

The development work on Titanfall 2 is being carried out by a team that is 30 percent larger than the one that worked on Microsoft-exclusive Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment revealed. While talking to Develop, HR and recruiting manager Kristin Christopher pointed out that the first game in the franchise was made by about 70 people, in comparison, the sequel now has 90 people working on it right now. Note that this team of 90 is only responsible for Titanfall 2, and rest of the studio is working as a new team on an unannounced third-person action game.
“Although we make triple-A games, our teams are on the smaller side compared to other triple-A developers. We had about 70 developers on the original Titanfall and we currently have about 90 working on the sequel. We expect our new team to grow to a similar size.”
The new team that Christopher is talking about is the one that is responsible for the ongoing development work on the studio’s new, yet-unannounced game. According to Christopher, the new team is currently “small,” but as the development process gains momentum, Respawn Entertainment will open up “many more positions”. The studio will be looking to hire up to 70 more people, putting the headcount in new team roughly around the one working on Titanfall 2.
    Advertisements

“Respawn is growing from a one game, one team studio to a two game, two team studio. A while back we hired Stig Asmussen – formerly with Sony, where he was director on God of War 3 – to direct a new game for us.
“The team is currently small, but as they prepare to go full-force into development there will be many more positions that open up. I could see us hiring up to 70 more people to support that game, not counting other roles in the studio. It is a really exciting time.”
While we know that Respawn Entertainment is working on a sequel to its mech-shooter game, the developer has not properly revealed the game yet. It is known, however, that Titanfall 2 will have a full single-player campaign and will be released on all current-gen platforms, unlike the first game in the franchise, which had the campaign integrated into the multiplayer game itself, and was originally released only on Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles before launching on Windows PCs.
READ Bluepoint Games Hiring For Asset Creation For AAA Console Title, Team Might Be Working On Another Remaster

Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella has already stated that“2016 is going to be a very big year for Titanfall.” Chances are that this next game in the franchise will see a full reveal during Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 this summer. What do you have to say about Titanfall 2? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Titanfall 2 Teaser Is Gorgeous; Worldwide Reveal on June 12

Electronic Arts just posted the very first Titanfall 2 teaser and it’s looking really great. It’s not CGI either, so this is a good look at how the game’s graphics will be; interestingly, a Titan equips a sword suggesting melee fights between Titans.
As fully expected, Titanfall 2 will be completely multiplatform and thus release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We had reported some details in earlier stories: for instance, Lead Writer Jesse Stern confirmed that this time there will be a proper campaign and there might even be magic (which was completely absent in the first game).
Respawn Entertainment also confirmed that their team is now 30% bigger. Strangely enough, it seems like Electronic Arts intends to release both the new Battlefield and Titanfall 2 in Fall 2016 while Mass Effect: Andromeda has been pushed to Q1 2017.
Stay tuned for more on Respawn’s second entry in the Titanfall franchise.

Titanfall 2 Might Feature Wall Running Titans

We got the first look at Titanfall 2 just yesterday, when Electronic Arts shared the first teaser trailer of Respawn’s new game.
However, the official website of the game might have just provided a clue about what could be one of the biggest new features in Titanfall 2. The background image (posted above) has been extracted and made clearer through editing software and the result is what looks very much like a wall running Titan.
Would you be interested in such a thing? Let us know in the comments. Another addition noticed in the teaser itself is that Titans will also have swords, suggesting epic melee fights during gameplay.

Titanfall 2, due for a worldwide reveal on June 12 during EA’s E3 2016 conference, will have a full fledged single player campaign. This is how Lead Writer Jesse Stern, who also teased a potential TV show based on the franchise, described it:
So we are doing our best to deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space. We imagined the next generation of immigrants moving out to the new frontier of an inhabitable planet. Rather than taking a traditional sci-fi approach to that we wanted to look at how that would happen practically, what the ships would look like and with machines that were designed for excavation and construction, demolition and working the land, and what happens when they are turned into instruments of war.

It sounds like Titanfall 2 might be quite different from its predecessor. Stay tuned and we’ll bring you all the details on this game as they are revealed.
