Assassin’s Creed: Unity – Patch 5 Now Available On PC, “Physics Reset” Stuttering Still Not FixedAfter slightly delaying it, Ubisoft today released the fifth update for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. While the company claimed that this patch would feature a number of PC specific fixes, we can safely report that the annoying ‘physics reset’ stuttering issues that has been plaguing the game from the get-go has not been addressed yet. Not only that, but the promised tessellation effects are nowhere to be found.Below you can find a video showing the infamous ‘physics reset’ stuttering issue, we captured the following video. In order to avoid any possible VRAM limitation, we dropped our resolution to 720p. As you can see, Unity used around 1.7GB of VRAM (each core of our GTX690 has access to 2GB of VRAM).
We strongly suggest paying attention to Arno’s clothes while we’re running. As you can see, the physics of Arno’s clothes are reset during every single stutter that occurs. This ‘physics reset’ issue is also obvious on NPCs’s clothes while we are standing in the middle of the crowd (beginning of the video).
Ubisoft has not acknowledged yet this issue, even though there are a lot of PC gamers suffering from it.

Ubisoft Montreal Knew That AC: Unity Was Not Ready, Always-Online Had Huge Impact on PerformanceReddit’s member ‘w3r3w0lv33‘ was granted a wish by the Make A Wish Foundation, in order to visit Ubisoft Montreal. That wish was recently fulfilled and w3r3w0lv33 shared some information about the state of Unity at its time of release. As Ubisoft Montreal’s Alex Hutchinson told w3r3w0lv33, the team realized during the game’s late development stage that it was not ready yet, however it refused to delay it as that would have an impact on the future Assassin’s Creed titles.
“We talked about nearly everything, including some pretty cool stuff. In order to back up his visit to Ubisoft Montreal, w3r3w0lv33 also provided a number of screenshots that can be found here.
He acknowledged that Unity wasn’t ready, but they didn’t find out until the very end. He said that since the game was always-online, it had a huge impact on performance. This is why when you play without Internet connection there’s generally better performance. However, Ubisoft didn’t want to delay the game to this year because that would have impacted the future Assassin’s Creed titles.”
Furthermore, w3r3w0lv33 was used for mocap for the new Assassin’s Creed game that will be revealed on May 12th.
“I can’t talk about it, but perhaps in a few days”

Egypt-focussed Assassin’s Creed Could Skip 2016
Noticia:There’s finally something good we can say about Assassin’s Creed Unity – it’s launch was so bad that it may have made Ubisoft reconsider the franchise’s yearly release schedule.
According to Kotaku, multiple unnamed inside sources at Ubisoft have confirmed that the next major game in the Assassin’s Creed series will be released at some point in 2017. That would make 2016 the first year there hasn’t been a new game since 2008.
This seems to be backed up by a developer who supposedly leaked information to 4chan earlier this week.
That doesn’t mean that there won’t be enough Assassin’s Creed to get your teeth into this year. The Chronicles spin-off will return this month and next, and the film is currently scheduled for release in December.

On top of that, rumours of some kind of Assassin’s Creed collection hit the web late last year when Ubisoft registered a domain.
So while a new numbered game might not make an appearance, there’s no doubt that fans will be able to part with their pennies if they choose to do so.
Kotaku’s sources have also managed to leak what they claim are some basic details for the 2017 instalment.
Codenamed ‘Empire’, the new title will be set in ancient Egypt. It is supposedly the first in a new character trilogy.
Like all unsourced rumours, it’s best to take the information with a pinch of salt. Different people have different levels of access and things can change at the drop of a hat. Even so, the pressures of a yearly release schedule have been well documented when it comes to Ubisoft’s long-running franchise, and it’s a surprise this change wasn’t made around the time that 3 was released.
