Apple Car Concept Teaser Will Make You Drool – Video

Rumors regarding Apple making its own car have picked up pace lately, but at this point in time it’s unclear what the vehicle would look like, other than the fact that it will be electric and autonomous. While we do not have any real look at the car, but concept designers are doing all they can to envision what Cupertino might have in store.

One designer managed to conjure up a wonderful teaser ad for the elusive Apple Car, giving us a glimpse of Cupertino’s design plans. While we’re sure this particular teaser bears no resemblance to the real thing whenever it comes out, nonetheless it’s a great watch, and we urge everyone to check it out.

Staying true to the rumors, the teaser ad envisions the car to be available in 2020, just four years from now. And from the looks of it, it appears as though the vehicle is going to be jam packed with a bunch of great features, especially those pertaining to traffic. Nonetheless, it looks great, and it really makes us wish it was the real deal straight from Apple.
The current electric car landscape is ruled by Tesla, with Google also working day and night to make sure that it has a large enough footprint to put the competition into trouble. While the Big G has made some serious strides in the electric / autonomous car arena, but the company hasn’t given a product in the hands of consumers just yet, signaling towards the fact that we might not see driverless vehicles any time soon. Granted, it’s a huge risk to put a driverless vehicle on the road, given the fact who will be held responsible in case something goes wrong, but the truth is: everyone wants a piece of the self-driving car pie. Apple on the other hand is rumored to be making a vehicle that drives by itself and is absolutely electric, which means the car runs on clean energy, just like Tesla and Google.
It will be interesting to see how the landscape changes in the automobile industry whenever Apple puts its wheels on the road. But for now, it’s a pure rumor that the company is working on a vehicle of its own, and it will be quite a lot of months until we get a material glimpse of Apple’s plans.
Be sure to let us know in the comments section below what you think about the above teaser. Do you think Apple will come around with a similar design?

Apple Electric Car Project Leader Reportedly Abandons Ship After 16 Years With Company

Apple still hasn't admitted that it's planning to release its own brand of electric vehicle in the near-future, but it's a secret to no one at this point that it's going to happen - barring some unforeseen occurrence, of course. In October, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that a "massive change" would be coming to the auto industry, but failed to elaborate on whether or not his company would be playing a role in that.
Meanwhile, in the background, Apple has been trying to snatch up as much talent as possible, to ensure that its stealth or not-so stealth project is a success. Some employees even came from Tesla, with founder and CEO Elon Musk humorously noting that Apple's automotive team is a "Tesla graveyard", a comment he later he tried to smooth over, but didn't manage to unsurprisingly.

Steve Zadesky worked for Apple for 16 years Nonetheless, it does appear that Apple's automotive project is well underway, and that the all-too-elusive announcement can't be that far off. However, the company did just suffer a potential blow, with Steve Zadesky, who was the head of the project, deciding to leave the company "for personal reasons." As Zadesky was with Apple for 16 years, his departure at a time when he led one of the company's most-anticipated projects ever is none too subtle. Naturally, Apple is not commenting on the departure, although it has been confirmed through multiple third-parties.
Zadesky was a great fit for Apple with its automotive project, as he worked at Ford just before the turn of the century for a handful of years. Following that, he went on to head-up product development for Apple, and had a hand in some of the company's most successful product launches ever, including the iPod and iPhone.

"Would you like a car with that iPhone?" One key player departure shouldn't cripple Apple's automotive efforts, but given Zadesky's experience, and the project he was working on, this is certainly a notable one and perhaps a sign of something more significant... or not.

Apple invokes the ancient gods for car business

Might have chosen the wrong ones
Apple has been trying to draft ancient gods into its cult to develop its self-driving car. Like the car it might backfire badly.

For those who came in late, Apple believes that it can make up for the fact that the iPhone is a dying commodity by getting into car making. After all there is a long history of people paying a fortune for a nicely designed but fairly pointless car.
Apple’s project is being housed in several different buildings around Sunnyvale and has codenamed them all after Greek gods and monsters. Unfortunately, due to their minimum of research into other religions they made some odd name choses which may reflect badly on the cars they hope to make.
Firstly the project is called Titan. The Titans were a race of gods which became out-of-date and were eventually outclassed by the Olympians. Names for the buildings include Medusa – a Goddess famous for turning things into stone which is not exactly you want from a car, particularly if you don’t like to push the thing.
Another building is called Athena, who was the patron goddess of Wisdom and intelligent combat. But she was also famous for being a too clever and tricky. One of the reasons that she was so friendly with Odysseus was because he was too clever for his own good.
Zeus was one of Apple's largest building purchases of 2015 and although he was the King of the Gods, he also had a nasty habit of having affairs and lobbing thunderbolts of doom. Another building is called Rhea who the Roman’s identified with Magna Mater whose priests were required to lop off their own genitals as an offering to her. Finally there is Pegasus a winged horse who had the job of carrying Zeus ‘thunderbolts of doom’ and making sure they hit there target.
So any product made by this combination is likely to be a totally amoral, out-of-date technology which paralyses all who touch it, is too clever and fiddly which emasculates you and your bank-account and hastens your doom.
Another side issue is that one of the buildings used for Titan is a former Pepsi bottling plant. Which suggests the project will fizz out and be rather flat.

Apple Car Concept Is Packed With Technology, Topped Off With A Seriously Questionable Design – Video

The already-giant world of concept designs is expanding at a rapid pace, and today we’ve come across a new render, depicting the rumored Apple Car – or iCar, if you like to call it that.

Created by Motor Trend, the Apple Car concept is loaded with a lot of great features. But from a design point of view, we’ll give it a massive thumbs down. Why is that so? First take a look at the video embedded below then I’ll blast the thing straight into the stratosphere with a micro rant.

While we do applaud the efforts of the designers behind this concept, but one thing was obviously ignored while creating this concept – that not everything Apple builds ends up looking like an iPhone, iPad, or perhaps a Mac.

For instance, take a look at the antenna band like white strip going around the car, topped off with the Apple logo. It clearly looks as though such a thing was forced straight into the concept just because Apple has done it on its smartphone. It just boggles our mind that why certain designers believe that some Apple products are definitely going to take cues from at least an iPhone.
If Only Apple Concept Designers Stop Making Everything Look Like A Massive iPhone

On the features front, the concept has a load of technology packed under the hood. For instance, there are virtual reality based features for the windshield, allowing the driver to see obstructions on the road with utmost ease. And of course, there’s everything else packed into the design that ensures the best drive there is in the business of cars.

The Tesla Model 3 got a lot of hate for its slightly tacky design compared to the Model S. But after seeing this concept, I admit that my view about the Model 3 was wrong. Very, very wrong. And I hope to God Apple doesn’t end up creating a car like the one portrayed in the concept. But instead comes up with something that’s more in line with a Tesla vehicle.
At this point in time it’s very unclear whether or not Apple will actually end up making a car for the road. But rumors suggest that the company is working tirelessly exploring the field, with the vehicle being touted as a self-driving affair, topped off with an electric engine. In other words, it seems as though Apple is set to take on Tesla with its vehicle. Provided it does end up making one.
What do you make of the Apple Car concept above? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
