Está com muito boa pinta. Se melhorar de tudo um pouco a fórmula do anterior, deverá ser dos melhores e mais elogiados de 2016.

New XCOM 2 Screenshots Showcase Beautiful “Small Town” Environments of the Game

Unlike previous games in the series, Firaxis Games’ XCOM 2, which serves as a sequel to 2012’s reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and will take place 20 years after the events of its predecessor, following the war that humanity lost against the alien forces, will have procedurally generated maps. That means the in-game environments of XCOM 2 such as alien-built megacities, small towns, back country and wilderness will change with time and players will get to explore different settings every time. Here are some brand new screenshots showing some of the “small towns” settings of the game.

New Screenshots Show XCOM 2’s Small Town Areas; Suburban Settlements Featuring Residential Neighborhoods and Commercial Businesses

XCOM 2 is all about strategy and well-timed force, and as vast and monumental its environments, which serve as the battlefields in humanity’s war against the invading aliens forces, are, they play a very significant role, both in telling the story and in planning your moves. Firaxis has shared some new screenshots showing off the game’s “small towns”; areas that spread around the cities taken over by ADVENT, an in-game organization that collaborates with aliens. Small town settings are areas inhabited by those who have not “bought into the promise” of ADVENT City Centers, Firaxis said in new blog post.

These suburban areas offer “combination of residential neighborhoods and commercial businesses.” The developer further states that, “Small Town settings are suburban settlements just outside of the sprawling Advent City Centers and are best described as havens for folks looking to live like they did before the arrival of the aliens. XCOM’s goal is to protect these people by going after Advent here.” The areas are filled with propaganda billboards and ADVENT soldiers are appointed to patrol the streets and keep order. “These Small Towns also offer XCOM a stark reminder of what we’re all fighting for: our home,” Firaxis wrote.

XCOM 2 is set to be released on February 6, 2016 for Windows PC, Mac and Linux. Keep checking back for more info and

XCOM 2 Season Pass, Deluxe Edition and Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

Some new details have emerged about all of the goodies for XCOM 2. Of course there will be pre-order bonuses, a deluxe edition and post-launch content in the form of a season pass. All of which will add real gameplay content and of course unique in-game items.

The pre-order is strong with XCOM 2, but it might actually be worth it.

When XCOM 2 is released in February they’ll have a standard and a deluxe edition for $59.99 and $74.99 respectively. The deluxe edition will include three expansion packs that’ll come out throughout 2016. If you initially buy the standard edition, you’ll be able to upgrade to the deluxe by buying the Reinforcement Pack for $19.99.
There will be different expansion packs throughout 2016. The first one is called Anarchy’s Children, and will be available in the spring of 2016 with more customization options for your characters.
    Advertisements

In the summer of 2016 they’ll come out with Alien Hunters, which will add a new story element, letting you hunt down some new ruler aliens with a few new weapons and more ways to customize your soldiers and a few new weapons to help seek out and destroy the new alien overlords.
The last expansion pack is being called Shen’s Last Gift and is also set for a summer of 2016 release date. This expansion will bring a new map with a new mission and more weapons, armor and soldier customization’s.
And the incentives for pre-ordering include a unique Survivor of the Old War soldier and unique customization options that otherwise won’t be available in game.

Minimum Specifications for XCOM 2 Released, 7970 or GTX 770 Recommended

The minimum and recommended specifications for XCOM 2 have just been posted to the Steam store page. There’s no surprise that this PC only have is supposed to have more steep requirements in order to access higher levels of fidelity, but the recommended specs are not necessarily that high.

A GTX 770 or HD 7970 will do, but dual GTX 980 Ti’s will make XCOM 2 better.

If the recommended specifications can run XCOM 2 at 1080P with at least 60FPS, then that won’t be too terrible. It isn’t the most advanced graphics engine that’s ever been used, but it is appreciably upgraded over XCOM: Enemy Unknown and does have a certain visual style that’s quite attractive.
    Minimum:

    • OS: Windows7, 64-bit
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core 2.6 GHz
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5770, 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 45 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

    Recommended:

    • OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
    • Processor: 3GHz Quad Core
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: 2GB ATI Radeon HD 7970, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or better
    • Storage: 45 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

XCOM 2 Boxart Makes Extraterrestrial Skulls Look Good

XCOM 2 has its boxart revealed, and the Alien skull sure looks jaw-dropping. In the image, thousands of skulls can be discerned in the Alien’s head.

Although boxart doesn’t influence a game in any way, it sure does like amazing, compared to other boxart from recently released titles.

The game is the sequel to the 2012 reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown. New enemies as the Viper will be featured in the strategy title. XCOM 2 introduces a new world order where aliens rule Earth and XCOM must fight to save humanity.
    Advertisements

In XCOM 2, the roles have been reversed, and XCOM is now the invading force. They are hampered by limited resources and must constantly evade the alien threat in their new mobile headquarters. Players must use a combination of firepower and stealth-like tactics to help XCOM recruit soldiers and build a resistance network, while attempting to expose the evil alien agenda and save humanity. XCOM 2 will introduce gameplay features such as procedurally-generated levels, which will make each experience unique to the player, as well as offer a much deeper level of modding support. Additionally, XCOM 2 will offer a variety of new content including five updated soldier classes, increased soldier customization, more alien and enemy types, evolved tactical combat and more.
XCOM 2 to release in February 2016

XCOM is scheduled for a release in February 2016. The game was first scheduled for a release in November this year, but was pushed back in August of this year. According developer Firaxis, they needed more time to make it the best possible game.
“We’ve set a high bar for the sequel and the entire team has been working hard to make sure we deliver a great follow-up to Enemy Unknown,” reads the statement from the XCOM 2 dev team.
Yesterday, we detailed the game’s season pass and special editions. Check out our post right here.

New XCOM 2 Trailer & Tons Of Gameplay Footage

2K & Firaxis shared a new XCOM 2 trailer titled ‘Retaliation’, which highlights the difficult task of Commanders in this sequel: take back the Earth from the aliens.

This XCOM 2 trailer is just a small part of the media blowout planned for the game, though. System requirements have been made official, for instance, and there’s also lots of new gameplay footage. This one by Arekkz Gaming takes an in-depth look at the character customization options.

Another two videos by Beaglerush showcase two new XCOM 2 missions: Operation War Hand and Operation Ice Queen.

XCOM 2 is due for release exclusively for PC on February 5, 2016. That’s because Firaxis is banking heavily on modding, and with the recent confirmation of 50GB worth of assets available to modders, we should definitely see some amazing stuff in the Steam Workshop after launch.
This ties directly into the other main features of XCOM 2, such as procedurally generated maps and objectives. The goal is clearly to significantly increase the game’s longevity; of course, there will also be multiplayer with ranked matches for those interested in becoming the Supreme Commander.
You can take a look at the newly revealed pre-order bonuses, Season Pass and Deluxe Edition here.

XCOM 2 New Enemy & Environment Revealed; Screenshots Included

XCOM 2 welcome a new enemy to its alien cast – the Gatekeeper. A floating ball that resembles XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s Cyberdisc in some way. Developer Firaxis has also shared some new info on the environments in XCOM 2.

Originally posted by IGN, XCOM 2’s new enemy is a floating ball, called ‘The Gatekeeper’. At first sight the keeper looks friendly, but wait until it bursts open. Check out the video down below to see The Gatekeeper in action (courtesy of IGN).

This floating ball at first looks kind of adorable in a Pixar sort of way, and seems like it should be voiced by Peter Dinklage. That is, until it busts open and reveals a Krang-like pink pulpy mass with a glowing eye and tentacles and starts zombifying anything within reach. It shares the Sectoid’s ability to reanimate corpses as psi zombies (or makecorpses and then reanimate them), though it can raise several at once. Plus it has several other potent-looking psionic abilities, and, as one would expect, a death ray.

XCOM 2 New Gameplay Video Showcases Plenty Of Features, Character Customization And More

XCOM 2 is one of the more anticipated games releasing in the next few weeks and Fireaxis Games has been showing more of the game lately so to get strategy games fans even more excited. A few hours ago another XCOM 2 gameplay video has surfaced online, showcasing many of the game’s features.

The new XCOM 2 gameplay video has been shared by PC Gamer and showcases plenty of gameplay features such as units, character customization, a few different missions and much more. Members of Fireaxis Games were also present during the recording of the video to talk more about their upcoming game. You can check out the video right below.

XCOM 2 is a turn based tactical video game like the XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The new game will take place 20 years after the events of the previous entry, where humanity has been defeated by aliens, with XCOM becoming nothing more than a resistance force.
Earth has changed. Twenty years have passed since world leaders offered an unconditional surrender to alien forces. XCOM, the planet’s last line of defense, was left decimated and scattered. Now, in XCOM 2, the aliens rule Earth, building shining cities that promise a brilliant future for humanity on the surface, while concealing a sinister agenda and eliminating all who dissent from their new order.
Only those who live at the edges of the world have a margin of freedom. Here, a force gathers once again to stand up for humanity. Always on the run, and facing impossible odds, the remnant XCOM forces must find a way to ignite a global resistance, and eliminate the alien threat once and for all.
XCOM 2 will be released on February 5th on PC. The game is currently available for pre-order on Steam.

XCOM 2 Coop Mod Already Planned By Modders Studio

XCOM 2, originally supposed to release in November 2015, is now just a few weeks away from its February 9 worldwide launch.
This edition will be available only for PC at first and that’s because Firaxis wanted a very strong focus on modding. In fact, whereas modders had a really hard time with the first XCOM, this time around the developer will provide the full toolkit:

    • Visual Studio Isolated Shell for building mods
    • The Unreal Engine editor that was used in the development of XCOM (the same one that was used to build the game)
    • Script Source Code
    • 50GB of Assets from animations, to textures, to models, to ground clutter etc.

Basically, the community will have at its disposal the entire toolset that Firaxis used to make XCOM 2. Some of these organized groups already have very specific plans on their upcoming projects and one of them wants to add XCOM 2 coop.
Specifically, Dragonware Studio detailed their XCOM 2 coop project as follows:
Been wanting to play XCom with your friends in a cooperative setting? The Multiplayer Mod is by far our most anticipated mod, and if we have our way it will be the first available!
    Advertisements

    How will it work?
Version 1 will add an additional button under the “Select Soldier” button, “Invite Player”. This button will allow you to access your Steam friend’s list and invite a friend of your choice to take ownership of that soldier on the upcoming mission. Once invited, your friend will control the soldier menu in order to outfit their controlled soldier.
After the mission is complete, your friend will return to their own game along with any XP and loot they’ve earned from the mission.
This would certainly be interesting if they could pull it off. Dragonware Studio has many other mods in the works though, from adding magic to dragons and enhancing gameplay elements such as strategy and stealth.
Considering that XCOM 2 also features procedurally generated maps and objectives, prospects of great longevity seem very strong.

Firaxis Partners With Long War Studios For XCOM 2 Content

Firaxis Games and 2K have announced in a press release distributed today that they are partnering with Long War Studios to produce XCOM 2 content.
Long War Studios, comprised of just three folks (John Lumpkin, Rachel “Amineri” Norman and James “JCLewis” Karlson), is the team behind the most popular mod for XCOM, Long War. It seems like they are already hard at work on multiple XCOM 2 mods that will be available on the game’s release, scheduled for February 9 on PC.
If you’re interested in knowing more details, don’t forget about the upcoming Firaxis Megapanel at PAX South on Saturday, January 30th at 12:30pm CT (10:30am PT/1:30pm ET). Firaxis promised new live gameplay of XCOM 2 and additional information on both the mod tools and the projects of Long War Studios. Those who won’t be able to attend PAX South may watch the whole thing from Twitch, of course.
Just a couple days ago, we reported that another team of modders is already planning to add a coop mode. Needless to say, it looks like mod support for XCOM 2 may be off to an explosive start.

XCOM 2 Launch Day Mods Receive First Details, Will Add New Enemy Type And More

Two weeks ago Fireaxis Games and 2K have announced that they have partnered with Long War Studios to create XCOM 2 content. The announcement made more than a few XCOM series fans happy, as Long War Studios is the team behind one of the more popular XCOM mods, Long War. With last month’s announcement, it’s also been confirmed that content from Long War Studios is going to be available at launch for XCOM 2.

Not much was previously known about the XCOM 2 launch day mods, but more on the matter has emerged online recently thanks to an interview by Eurogamer with the team. According to Long War Studios team members, players will be able to use submachine guns, which will make a soldier faster and harder to detect, enjoy a new set of leadership perks and fight a new type of enemy called the Muton Centurion thanks to launch day mods.

XCOM 2 has sold more than 500K copies in first week

XCOM 2 launched just one week ago and the PC exclusive title already seems to be doing very well, with over 500,000 copies sold already. Firaxis first announced the sequel last year and since the game landed in the hands of reviewers, it has garnered plenty of positive coverage and critical praise. It seems that plenty are appreciating the focus on PC as well, as the game launched with full mod support, an in-depth character creation system and excellent graphics.
According to Steam Spy, which has proven to be a reliable source for statistics, XCOM 2 has sold well over 500,000 copies at this point at an average buy-in price of $59.99.

What makes this more of an achievement is the fact that it launched so closely to Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC, another game that came out to high praise. If XCOM 2 keeps selling at the rate it currently is, then Firaxis may see the game hit the one million copies sold milestone fairly quickly.
