    Xiaomi Mi Pad 2

Xiaomi’s Upcoming Tablet Images Leaked; Mi Pad 2 In Tow?

After Xiaomi announced its Redmi Note 2, a handset running MediaTek Helio X10 for a starting price of $125, the Chinese tech sensation will be capitalizing on the mobile market with the release of its Mi Pad 2. While we have heard very little from Xiaomi concerning its flagship slate, it looks like it will not be long till we will finally have a successor of Mi Pad announced very soon.

Mi Pad 2 Images Leaked, Could Be Running Windows 10 Instead Of Android

The latest images leak comes all the way from China, and it shows what appears to be Xiaomi Mi Pad 2. From what we call tell from the images, the tablet is going to be much larger compared to Mi Pad, which has a screen size of 7.9 inches. While the following has not been confirmed, we suspect that Mi Pad 2 is going to have a screen size of 10 inches, which will place it in a direct skirmish with the likes of Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Another difference that will be separating Mi Pad and Mi Pad 2 is that the latter could be running Windows 10. We came across a highly affordable Chinese tablet running Windows 10 and in case you forgot, it was Taipan X98 Pro. The slate was stamped with a price tag of $220, so we expect that Mi Pad 2 will also feature the same price. One of the reasons why we believe that the upcoming tablet will be running Windows 10 is because Microsoft was already testing out Windows 10 on Xiaomi handsets.

Android might be reigning supreme in terms of market share, but the platform is running in too many handsets, resulting in market share saturation as well as the question of security. Windows 10’s popularity is yet to branch out to mobile devices, which is why this is opportune moment for Xiaomi to take advantage of its high market share and low-price business model. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have at this current time. When more details are exhumed, we will keep you in the loop.

More Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Images Leaked; Larger Tablet Coming Soon With One Terrible Feature

Previously, we were able to put out some leaked images of Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 and from the looks of it, the slate looks to succeed the original Mi Pad in both size, functionality and hardware specifications. However, according to the interface that we caught a glimpse of, Mi Pad 2 might not come running with Windows 10 ‘out of the box’. Instead, the images that you will see show that the large screen tablet could be running Android Marshmallow, depending on when it gets released.

Screen size Of Mi Pad 2 Could Be 10.1 inches; Windows 10 Still Not Confirmed By The Company

According to the images leak that originated from China, Mi Pad 2 is running Google’s Android platform. According to what we had reported earlier, Microsoft was testing out fully functional mobile builds on smartphones bearing the Xiaomi logo, suggesting that the Chinese smartphone firm would be open to the idea of selling mobile devices running both Android and Windows 10.
Windows 10 running on a large, yet affordable tablet will definitely be a great selling point since it will provide consumers with the ideal laptop substitute. Just take a look at Taipan X98 Pro, the $220 9.7 inch tablet powerhouse that is not only affordable, but runs Windows 10 as well. If Xiaomi is able to follow in the same footsteps as this product, then the company could open up a whole different market all to itself.

Seeing as how Xiaomi relies on its low cost business model, selling Mi Pad 2 running Windows 10 will be a definite winner in our eyes since it be affordable, fast and portable. The company’s current generation flagship tablet has a screen size of 7.9 inches and is incorporated with NVIDIA Tegra K1, so we might get to see a 10.1 inch screen and a resolution of 1440p from Mi Pad 2. While there have been no details provided concerning the hardware specifications, it is possible that Xiaomi will be looking to assimilate Intel’s SoC to its upcoming product.
While these are all the details that we came across, you guys should stay tuned for more because Xiaomi definitely has a lot surprises waiting for us.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Teaser Image Reveals One Unbeatable Selling Point From The Tablet

Details concerning Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 have been extremely scarce, though we did manage to get a hold of the leaked images, showing that the company’s upcoming tablet was going to be much larger than its original Mi Pad. However, there is one feature of Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 that we believe will transform in to one of the most popular products of its generation.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Could Come In Both Windows And Android OS Models; Targeting Different Audiences In The Process

According to a leak coming from Beijing, a teaser image with the Xiaomi logo present on it has caught our attention, with the number ‘2’ present on it. In order to target a different audiences with a single product, we believe that Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 will be available to purchase in the Windows and Android platform variants. Consumers who place their orders for the upcoming tablet will be able to decide from before as to which platform they want to run before the product reaches their doorstep.
However, we have not received any information if Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is going to be running Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 ‘out of the box’. What we do know is that the upcoming slate is most likely going to feature a screen size of 10.1 inches, coupled with a crisp resolution and hardware that is quite similar to Taipan X98 Pro, which happens to be one of the most affordable and powerful Windows 10 tablets that we have ever come across.

We expect that Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is going to be running Intel’s 14nm chipset, along with a quad-core processor. The processor is what will give the tablet compatibility to run either Microsoft’s Windows or Google’s Android platform, and will cater to different markets with just a single product. As part of Xiaomi’s business model, we expect the tablet to be cheaper than the competition, particular Galaxy Tab S2. The only thing that we are unaware of is when the company going to officially announce its flagship tablet.
It is possible that the company surprises us by unveiling it alongside its Mi4c, which is said to be announced on September 24. However, we are going to have to wait for more details to come in, since we are not even sure which Intel chipset is going to be present inside Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, let alone its release date. We will however, keep you updated with the latest information as soon as we come across it.

Intel Atom x5-Z8500 Makes Its Way On Xiaomi MiPad 2 In Leaked Benchmarks

As other manufacturers prepare and launch their annual gadget upgrades on a fixed schedule, Xiaomi seems to be eager to stand out of the pack. The company’s successor to the Xiaomi Mi4, launched in June of last year has seen virtually no information surface about its expected launch period, even though we’ve seen several bits of information surface about its specifications and features here and there. Another Xiaomi device, the Xiaomi MiPad was also launched in 2014 and hasn’t seen a successor since then. Well, today some information has surfaced about the next MiPad and it looks like Intel is once again trying to make its way into the mobile world.

Xiaomi MiPad 2 Benchmark Listing Shows Device With Intel Atom Processor

Just like the Xiaomi Mi5, there has been no word so far on the launch date of the MiPad 2. The original MiPad was launched by the company in March 2015, which is even before the Mi4, so perhaps we’ll be seeing an upgrade to the device soon enough; perhaps as early as this December. The specifications listed on the device, courtesy of GeekBench do make up for some nice offerings, even though the benchmark scores are lesser than the MiPad, which came with Nvidia’s Tegra K1 on board.
According to today’s listing, the Xiaomi MiPad 2 should be expected to feature Intel’s Atom x5-Z8500 processor, that comes with four cores on board and a frequency of 2.24GHz on the listing. Multi-core score for the Xiaomi MiPad 2 is 3268, which is very modest if compared not only to the original tablet with the Tegra K1 on board, but also other offerings on the market including Apple’s iPad Pro and the iPad Air 2.

According to recent benchmarks, Apple’s A9X on the iPad Pro manages to get multi-core scores of 5498, with the A8X on last year’s iPad Air 2 aggregating at 4542. When these are compared to the MiPad 2’s alleged scores, we see that there’s a huge performance gap that the Chinese starlet needs to cover if it wants to get a share of the pie at top performing tablets.
There’s no word yet on the MiPad 2’s launch so Xiaomi should definitely be expected to change things quite significantly. Other specifications that have been listed for the device are 2GB of RAM with internal storage expected at 16GB, since the MiPad has always been an entry level tablet. But given the increasing market trend of high performing slates, perhaps Xiaomi should take a different approach. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet goes to Intel

    Atom X5 8500, 2GB RAM, eMMC, official
Xiaomi has just launched its all metal Mi Pad 2 that is more advanced than the original MiPad.

The new tablet has all metal body and measures 200.4x132.6x6.95 mm and weighs 322 grams. It has a 7.9 inch high resolution display, 6190 mAh battery an 8 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera. Xiaomi said that the 7.9 inch display is made by Sharp and has a 2048x1536 resolution with 326 pixel-per-inch screen density.
Mi Pad 2 is 18 percent thinner than the Mi Pad with 6.95 mm versus 8.5 millimeter with the previous model. It is 38 grams lighter – 322 grams versus 360 grams.
The tablet will be available in Dark gray and Champagne gold and it has either 16GB or 64GB eMMC storage. The tablet's key element is the Intel X5 X8500 is a 14nm 64-bit quad core clocked at 2.24GHz. Getting this contract is a big design win for Intel. This device might sell well especially as its design is similar to the iPad mini 4. The tablet uses dual channel 2GB LPDDR3 memory. Nvidia lost this design win to Intel. Nvidia's Tegra K1 SoC was inside of the previous Mi Pad tablet that launched in May 2014.

The 6190 mAh lithium ion polymer bettery supports 5V/2A fast charging and should provide 648.8 hours of standby, 100 hours of music playback, 12.5 hours of reading and 12.5 hours of video streaming. The new all metal tablet comes with a new USB Type-C as well as the 802.11ac Wi-Fi support.
The device has launched in China and the 16GB will sell for RMB 999 (€147 Euro or $156.4 USD) while the 64GB version cost RMB 1299 (€191.2 Euro or $203.3 USD). This is definitely a nice price for a good specification. The only thing we see missing might the a microSD card. This is an Android version of the tablet, but there will be a Windows 10 version launching in December.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 listed, Black Friday deals in tow

It’s all about Cherry Trail this year
Xiaomi’s new Mi Pad 2 tablet has been listed and should be available shortly. In the meantime, a number of white-box Cherry Trail tablets are getting a Black Friday price cut.

We already covered Xiaomi’s new tablet, but in case you missed it, it’s a 7.9-incher based on Intel’s new Atom x5-Z8500, which we had a chance to try out in a Teclast tablet, and we found it to be a very fast chip for the price. Gearbest is listing the new Xiaomi tablet starting at $195 in presale for the 16GB Android version. In case you want more storage, for $249 you can get a 64GB version running Windows or Android. If you’re not into Xiaomi, or if you can’t wait for it to start shipping, the reseller has informed us that its Black Friday tablet promotion is live, and you can check it out here.
As we pointed out in some of our previous reports, Chinese tablet vendors are slowly shifting to 2-in-1s and even regular notebooks, usually based on Cherry Trail processors, with prices starting at about $200. Cheaper 8-inch models are available for $100 or so. In addition to Atoms, Chinese tablet makers are also offering powerful Core M designs, usually priced at $300-400.
Another side-effect of the Cherry Trail rollout is that Bay Trail tablets are going to the bargain bin. You can scoop up a 10-inch or 9.7-inch device for a tad over $100, in dual-boot flavour, with a decent 2048x1536 panel. So, if you just want a cheap tablet and don't need a lot of GPU muscle, Bay Trail could still be a sensible option.

Mi Pad 2’sold out in minutes

    Underestimated demand
Xiaomi is kicking itself after it released its Mi Pad 2 in China and flogged its entire stock in a few minutes. It can only be that Xiaomi could have underestimated the demand of the device,

The company’s tablet comes in two variants: one running Windows 10 and the other running Android. The Mi Pad 2 is thinner than its predecessor (8.5mm) with a thickness of 6.96mm. The device weighs in at only 322 grams, which is 38 grams lighter than the original Mid Pad.
It has a 7.9-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2048×1635 pixels and 326ppi. It is based around a 2.24GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core chipset and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. Xiaomi has an 8-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The device also comes with a 6190mAh battery, which offers 2 hours of battery life.
Perhaps the reason it sold out was the price. Xiaomi is selling the 16GB variant for $156, and the 64GB variant for only $203. Still dont expect it to ever arrive in the West. It looks like Xiaomi will have its work cut out with the Chinese market.

Xiaomi Mi Pad Transformers Special Edition Can Turn Your Toy Tablet Into A Transformer

Xiaomi Mi Pad Transformers Special Edition is yet another tablet that has been added to the company’s diversified list of products. However, the tablet might not be what you were actually hoping for.

Xiaomi Mi Pad Transformers Special Edition Is A Toy Tablet That Costs $20 Who’s Only Function Is To Transform – Company Played The Decepticon Card With Us

The tablet, or more accurately, a toy, is being planned to celebrate the company’s 6th birthday. However, according to the latest report, it is stated that this toy is going to be crowd-funded product. However, each unit will definitely be easy picking for customers who have had experience purchasing Android powered tablets because Xiaomi Mi Pad Transformers Special Edition is going to start being sold from April 6th at a price of $20. Shipments of the toy are going to commence from May 13.

We cannot wager that this is an April fool’s joke because that date has longed past. However, this could be another market that Xiaomi is considering to enter in order to locate another resource to generate a hefty amount of revenue. The rising Chinese OEM has only released two tablets so far, and both of them come at an extremely competitive price tag. Mi Pad 2, the slate to succeed the very first one, sports a 7.9-inch, 2048 by 1536 resolution and is powered by Intel’s Atom x5-Z8500 chipset.

The chipset is running a quad-core processor at a base clock speed of 1.6GHz. However, the processor’s Turbo Boost technology takes the processor’s speed up to 2.24GHz, meaning you will get a decent amount of performance from the slate. Additionally, the CPU is supplemented by 2GB of RAM and a Type-C USB port.

Here’s Why The CEO Of Xiaomi Is Not Worried About Slipping Smartphone Sales

Since Mi Pad 2 is running an Intel chipset, you can choose to run either Android, or Windows 10 (you will have to select which OS it runs before the tablet actually reaches your household). Right now, there has not been any way to alter the operating system, so we do not recommend that you end up following the same steps yourself.

As for the Xiaomi Mi Pad Transformers Special Edition, would you be tempted to purchase this toy for your child, or loved ones? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
