Boas pessoal,

SPECS = TOP -> http://oneplus.net/one#specifications (http://oneplus.net/one#specifications)
SOFTWARE = TOP -> http://oneplus.net/one#cyanogenmod (http://oneplus.net/one#cyanogenmod)
PREÇO = TOP of the TOPS!!!!

Link: http://oneplus.net/one (http://oneplus.net/one)

16gb = 299$
64gb = 349$

Simplesmente brutal :O

Acho isto tudo no minimo ridiculo.

http://pplware.sapo.pt/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/oxygen_thumb.jpg (http://pplware.sapo.pt/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/oxygen.jpg)
http://pplware.sapo.pt/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/oneplusone9_thumb.jpg (http://pplware.sapo.pt/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/oneplusone9.jpg)

OxygenOS and CyanogenMod12S To Hit Users In Late March

There has been some heat sensed between two of the major companies related to smartphones. The manufacturer of well famed smartphone OnePlus One, has been lurking in a bit of conflict with its partner, Cyanogen Inc. Since OnePlus and Cyanogen Inc are not getting along, OnePlus opted to create its own ROM, the OxygenOS. As much as we would love to see this new operating system, OnePlus has not revealed any details which includes the release date which we’re all tentatively waiting for. However, Carl Pei, co-founder of the OnePlus stated on twitter that OxygenOS and CM12S will be available in mid to late March.
Carl Pei on Twitter said, ”We released am L alpha a while ago, but a more stable build (OxygenOS and CM12S) will need to wait until March.”
http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/oneplus-one-cu-oxygen-os-1170x644-300x165.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/oneplus-one-cu-oxygen-os-1170x644.jpg)The OxygenOS Will Be A Choice And Not Be An OTA Update Considering all the conflicts between Cyanogen Inc and OnePlus, it can be predicted that the CyanogenMod12 ROM will be replaced by OxygenOS in the near future. However, Pei has some other thoughts regarding how the new operating system will be handled. Recently in an AMA Reddit, Pei exclaimed that the OxygenOS will definitely not be made available in over the air (OTA) update in the upcoming OnePlus smartphones.

Pei explained: ”For the OnePlus One, it will likely not be an OTA, but rather a choice for users who want to try something new and are willing to flash it themselves.”
OxygenOS will be more like a stock build android version, and according to the company, the new operating system has been started from scratch or the ground up. OnePlus is only putting the things they want in OxygenOS, things which are heavily demanded by the users. OnePlus claims to provide an experience that will move the users away from Cyanogen to OxygenOS. However, rumors aside, if OxygenOS succeeds, the Android and Cyanogen monopoly can be broken down considering customization, but this is no more than a mere assumption. This is it for now folks, do share your thoughts regarding the new operating system in the comments below. Do you plan to flash the OxygenOS when it arrives?

OnePlus One Now Selling In 16 New European Countries, Oxygen OS To Debut Soon

http://media.bestofmicro.com/8/1/483697/gallery/oneplus-16-countries_w_600.png (http://www.tomshardware.com/gallery/oneplus-16-countries,0101-483697-0-2-12-1-png-.html)
OnePlus announced that it has approximately doubled the availability of its OnePlus One smartphone to 35 countries, by adding 16 new European ones. However, before you get too excited, customers will only be able to purchase it in those markets through the controversial invite system or during the 24-hour open sales every Tuesday.
The company has been growing rapidly lately, from only 30 employees initially to over 700 now, and it has expanded to India and Indonesia after its initial seven countries. The new 16 European countries are: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

“We know it has taken some time to get here. But it is important for us to do things right rather than do them fast," said OnePlus on its blog. “We took time to build a network that could support the extra logistics and needs of users before making this next step. After months of hard work, we're confident we can provide a top notch experience for users in all European Union countries."
The exact models these countries will get are the Silk White 16 GB version, which will cost 269 euro, and the Sandstone Black 64 GB version, which will cost 299 euro.
The popularity of the OnePlus One device grew initially thanks to high-end specs for half the price of what other companies would charge for similar features, and also because the device used Cyanogen's operating system.
In the past few months, the two companies have cut their ties, and now OnePlus is preparing to launch its Oxygen OS (https://oneplus.net/blog/2015/02/introducing-the-oxygenos-team-a-first-look-at-the-oneplus-rom/), which looks quite a bit different than the Cyanogen OS. Some customers may respond negatively to an operating system that is significantly different than stock Android or than their current Cyanogen.
On the other hand, most of OnePlus One's customers are interested in the device's higher value compared to other smartphones out there, so as long as the company can afford to do that, the brand should become stronger and the sales should increase.
OnePlus' co-founder, Carl Pei, will be hosting an event this week in Warsaw, Prague and Budapest, where he will talk about the launch of the device in the European countries, demo it, and give a sneak peak at the Oxygen OS. He will also announce OnePlus' entrance into a new product category, as well as talk about the launch of the OnePlus 2 in the third quarter of this year.

The next major Cyanogen update will come with an email client powered by Boxer

http://www.techspot.com/images2/news/bigimage/2015-03-11-image-9.jpg
Cyanogen (http://www.techspot.com/search/?cx=partner-pub-7395890353660701%3Aj5claj-6kfy&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Cyanogen) has long since been a popular alternative to stock Android, but many feel its core experience is lacking the horsepower it needs to actually take on Google’s suite of mobile service/apps. While it may still be some time before that happens, a new partnership appears to be taking the company (http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/11/cyanogen-boxer-email/) in the right direction.
While Cyanogen users already had access to its community-built email client, the next major update will come with Boxer’s email software as the default option. As some have mentioned, a partner like Boxer is a powerful one and is certainly one of the biggest upgrades coming to Cyanogen OS 12.
This isn’t a slimmed down version of the Boxer email client either. It looks as though we will be seeing its full suite of features including quick replies, Exchange integration and other multi-account functionality. But most importantly, there will be a deep level of user customization in place. Those interested will be able to select a wide range of settings to tinker with including swipe prompts, LED color notifications for various contacts/accounts, and more.
Cyanogen OS 12 is scheduled to roll out over the coming weeks for OnePlus One and YU Yureka. While the addition of Boxer may not convince loyal stock Android users to jump ship, it is certainly a nice option for avid Cyanogen users.

CyanogenMod12S And OxygenOS To Debut This Month’s End – OnePlus

A few months back we covered a bit of heat between OnePlus and Cyanogen Inc (http://wccftech.com/oxygenos-cyanogenmod12s-hit-users-late-march/). The post also emphasized the arrival of a new operating system developed from scratch by OnePlus since the long term benefits of the two companies were not working out. Hence, the need for OnePlus to develop their own operating system with specified needs and operations necessary for task accomplishment and more.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/oneplus-one-cu-oxygen-os-1170x644-635x350.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/oneplus-one-cu-oxygen-os-1170x644.jpg)
As recent as last week, Cyanogenmod team emphasized ina report that the latest Cyanogen OS, which will be based on the Lollipop update, will finally debut on the OnePlus in the coming weeks or ”a few weeks” according to Cyanogen. OnePlus has also confirmed the news and quoted that the Lollipop based update will be arriving by the end of this month. This may be the most important news for the OnePlus users since they have been tempting the Lollipop UI and other iconic features.
Deadlines to CyanogenMod12S and OxygenOS Announced To be more specific considering the release which some of us really crave for, OnePlus said that CyanogenMod12S should come before or on 30th March. Otherly, the OxygenOS with a stable release is speculated to arrive on or before the 27th of March. Hence, there are two pathways for the OnePlus users, either the CyanogenMod12S or OnePlus’s in-house built OxygenOS. Along with specific time lapses for the updated Lollipop update, OnePlus apologized for sorts along with an explanation:

”We never intended to keep you waiting. Unfortunately, we ran into some unexpected roadblocks. First, there was an unforeseen OS signing issue, which has recently been resolved. Our camera module had stability issues on Lollipop, and we had to rebuild it for compatibility. Several other crucial drivers, including our Wi-Fi drivers, also needed to be updated to work flawlessly with the upgrade. Admittedly, it took a little more time than we had planned, but we only release updates that we are proud of; that means refusing to take shortcuts or deliver sub-par experiences.”

Only time will decide OnePlus’s promises to updates and their specific release dates. The company on the other hand is so confident on its words that it announced to giveaway five 64GB OnePlus One smartphones to the die hard fans if it misses any of the deadline. That’s that for now folks, tell us, will you be upgrading you OS? Or shift to the alternative OxygenOS? Let us know in the comments below.

OnePlus One Owners Get First Crack At Newly Released Cyanogen OS 12
It's been a long and sometimes contentious wait for OnePlus One (http://hothardware.com/tags/oneplus-one) owners eager to taste the sweetness of Lollipop (http://hothardware.com/tags/lollipop), but the wait is now over -- Cyanogen OS 12 has begun rolling out to OnePlus One devices today, giving eager owners of the handset first lick. YU Yureka device owners will follow suit "very soon," Cyanogen announced in a blog post.

Getting to this point was an adventure in and of itself. The OnePlus team made the mistake of telling users (http://hothardware.com/news/oneplus-one-to-receive-lollipop-update-later-this-month) that a Lollipop update would arrive by the end of last month, though Cyanogen never offered up a time frame. As the promised dates came and went without an update, OnePlus One owners got a little antsy, prompting Cyanogen co-founder and CEO Kirt McMaster to tell fans via Twitter (http://hothardware.com/news/cyanogen-ceo-tells-oneplus-one-owners-to-calm-the-f-down-over-delayed-lollipop-update), "Guys, calm the f down. It's coming soon. When ready!"

image: http://hothardware.com/ContentImages/NewsItem/33313/content/OnePlus_One.jpg
http://hothardware.com/ContentImages/NewsItem/33313/content/OnePlus_One.jpg

Politically correct? Probably not, but it's water under the bridge at this point. "When ready" turned out to be mid-April, and now OnePlus One owners can enjoy all the goodness of Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop software, minus the bloat and plus the special features and functions that Cyanogen bakes into the custom ROM.

One of the things OnePlus One owners will want to play with is a new feature called App Themer. Cyanogen says its latest 'L' release gives users extra theming features, down to the granular ability to theme individual apps using App Themer. They'll also have access to a wider selection of paid and free themes.

"The 'L' update has been a labor of love for many of us here, with contributions from the CyanogenMod open source community. Go ahead and treat yourself to Cyanogen OS 12," Cyanogen said.

We're sure OnePlus One owners will do exactly that!

Cyanogen OS 12 Update Resumed For OnePlus One With ‘Ok OnePlus’ Voice Command

OnePlus had put the Cyanogen 12 OTA on hold a few days back to add a new feature to the operating system. According to the recent report, the rollout of Cyanogen 12 has begun again which made a come back with the hotword ”Ok OnePlus”. This is the key feature that Carl Pei wanted to add before the update moved to all units. Cyanogen’s image was badly hurt by some of the users, which was obviously legit since the update was already late.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/oneplus-holds-cm12s-rollout-add-new-ok-oneplus-feature-will-it-replace-ok-google-635x352.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/oneplus-holds-cm12s-rollout-add-new-ok-oneplus-feature-will-it-replace-ok-google.jpg)
Lets take a look at the feature that caused this delay. The ”Ok OnePlus” feature enables the OnePlus One to wake from the sleep mode over voice command. Its almost similar to that of the ”OK Google” command. Many of the doubters pinpointed the Cyanogen 12 as being a false alarm for the update and regarded it as untruthful.
Steve Kondik’s Reason For Halting The Cyanogen 12 Rollout It wasn’t that big of a reason for many users to halt the already late update, so it made them question Cyanogen’s sanity. However, the major reason for this operation was something else according to Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik. Steve defended the action saying that there were some serious bug fixes required in the update that would not have enabled users to upgrade to the Cyanogen 12:

“The reasons why we stopped the initial rollout are because of a problem updating encrypted devices from 11 to 12, and a couple of bugs that we felt were critical enough to fix before continuing (mms/telephony/themes). We also had an error in our production build environment that broke voice wakeup.”

Emphasizing more on the update apart from ”OK Google”, we know from the Cyanogen source that it has applied an un-named patch for security and many bug fixes for additional purposes. The persistent problem for non-integrated notification volume and ringer should be cured now as well. Other then this, the sudden crash of Messaging app after booting the device is also taken care of according to the OnePlus thread on its forum.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/OnePlus_One-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/OnePlus_One.jpg)
The update reaches from 550MB to 600MB. If you received the update notification then do select Ýes, Download’. When the update has downloaded, select ‘Install Now’. After the installation process has completed, your device will reboot automatically and wake up to the new OS, Cyanogen 12.
However, if the update notification is not prompted yet, do check it manually by going into ‘Settings’ then ‘About Phone’ then ‘System Update’ and check for updates by tapping ‘Check Now’. If it has arrived, follow the aforementioned procedure. If the update is still to come, do keep your eyes open for a look out. That’s all there is to it, folks. Let us know if the Cyanogen 12 update has dropped by your OnePlus handset.

Here’s How To Install Cyanogen Mod 12 On Your OnePlus One Handset

A few days back, Cyanogen (http://wccftech.com/cyanogen-partners-microsoft-offer-bundled-apps/) had released its newest ROM for the OnePlus One handset. Even though Cyanogen kept its users waiting for a long time, the bug fixes that enabled the update process have finally been patched. The Cyanogen 12 OS (http://wccftech.com/cyanogen-os-12-update-resumed-oneplus-ok-oneplus-voice-command/) is based on the Lollipop flavor of android and still runs the 5.0.2 instead of the 5.1.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/OnePlus_One-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/OnePlus_One.jpg)
The stock version of the OnePlus One handset still ships with the KitKat and the update to Cyanogen 12 OS will prompt shortly (http://wccftech.com/android-lollipop-besed-cyanogenmod12s-rolling-days/). However, moving forward with the topic, if you’re OnePlus One runs on a custom ROM, the only way to get the Cyanogen 12 OS is through flashing a TWRP. Here’s how you can manually upgrade your OnePlus One with a custom ROM to Cyanogen 12 OS.

Update Your OnePlus One To Cyanogen OS 12 Using TWRP OnePlus developed its own handling system, OxygenOS which has already been rolled out. If you want to upgrade your set from the OxygenOS, you’ll need to do it through the TWRP method. The stock version of OS can be upgraded via the OTA method. Follow the steps and you’ll have your Cyanogen OS 12 installed in no time:

Install the TWRP as your recovery and download the Cyanogen OS 12.
Boot into TWRP and enable ‘Advanced Reboot’ from the developers option. Then go to power menu and check ‘Recovery’
You will have to delete or wipe your current ROM to enable Cyanogen OS 12 to be installed. Select ‘Wipe’ from the TWRP main menu and select ‘Advanced Wipe’. Check the Dalvik cache, Data, System and Cache from the next menu. After this, ‘Swipe to Wipe’ to the bottom.
Your device does not have any ROM at this stage. Press’Install’ and select the Cyanogen OS 12 Zip file that you downloaded previously.
After you did this, ‘Swipe to confirm Flash’. After its complete, select the ‘Reboot System’ option which will prompt the SuperSU binary option for rooting the device.

There you have it folks, if you follow these instructions correctly, your OnePlus One will have Cyanogen OS 12. The Cyanogen OS 12 has all the features that users are accustomed of. Albeit, new features are also added with a fresh UI that will bring novelty to the user experience. Do try to flash the ROM only if your are familiar with rooting devices because it may involve your data to be permanently wiped. Give it a swirl and let us know in the comments how you liked the Cyanogen OS 12.

OnePlus And Cyanogen Officially File For Divorce
The rocky relationship between Cyanogen (http://hothardware.com/tags/cyanogen) and OnePlus (http://hothardware.com/tags/oneplus) appears to have ended. Not that it's any real big surprise -- the two weren't always on the same page when it came to software and logistics. For example, OnePlus had promised OnePlus One handset owners a Cyanogen OS update by a specific date, and when it didn't happen, Cyanogen explained (not so politely (http://hothardware.com/news/cyanogen-ceo-tells-oneplus-one-owners-to-calm-the-f-down-over-delayed-lollipop-update)) that it never made any such promise and that the new build would be finished when it's finished.

It created and awkward situation for OnePlus One owners who got caught in the middle of a relationship that was headed off a cliff. And so here we are at the end of the road watching OnePlus and Cyanogen part company, or at least that's how it appears. Maybe there's a chance the two firms patch things up, though it certainly doesn't appear that's going to be the case.

Cyanogen's Kirt McMaster and Steve Kondik discussed its relationship with OnePlus at the Global Mobile Internet Conference in Beijing, and also talked of a future in which the two likely would no longer be working together.

image: http://hothardware.com/ContentImages/NewsItem/33505/content/OnePlus_Cyanogen.jpg
http://hothardware.com/ContentImages/NewsItem/33505/content/OnePlus_Cyanogen.jpg

"That's probably the last you will see from that partnership unfortunately," Kondik said. "Two new companies are trying to do crazy stuff, a lot of people collide."

According to Kondik, Cyanogen's goals for software didn't align with OnePlus. Cyanogen is trying to create a real alternative to Google's stock Android experience that goes beyond surface enhancements and adds non-Google services into the mix, whereas OnePlus has its own custom version of Android it's working on.

McMaster chimed in and might have hinted at how OnePlus has a different goal. Without specifically mentioning OnePlus, McMaster said that certain vendors have the "delusion" that building an Android "skin" is enough to compete against Apple.

He was also more critical of OnePlus, noting that "without Cyanogen, OnePlus would have sold like one device in international markets. Essentially they built their brand on the back of Cyanogen."

That relationship worked both ways, as it helped Cyanogen prove thrive beyond the niche modding community. And while it's early, it may have opened the door to other partnerships with bigger brands -- imagine if Cyanogen teamed up with a company like LG or Samsung.

OnePlus and Cyanogen are officially parting ways (http://www.kitguru.net/laptops/mobile/matthew-wilson/oneplus-and-cyanogen-are-officially-parting-ways/)

The rift between Cyanogen and OnePlus in recent months has been very evident, with all signs pointing towards the two companies going their separate ways by the time the OnePlus Two rolls around. Now the companies have officially stated their intentions to part ways.
However, those of you who own a OnePlus One will continue to get Cyanogen updates for a bit longer. Those looking to grab a OnePlus Two will be left with the home-made Oxygen OS, which we have seen a couple of screenshots of (http://www.kitguru.net/laptops/mobile/android/matthew-wilson/here-is-our-first-look-at-the-oneplus-oxygenos/) already.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/oneplus_one-600x337.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/oneplus_one-600x337.jpg)
Speaking with PC World (http://www.pcworld.com/article/2915792/expect-more-cyanogen-phones-from-chinese-vendors.html), Cyanogen CEO, Kurt McMaster, said that the company has not been too pleased with OnePlus One sales: “OnePlus shipped reasonable volume, but nothing compared to what some of these other partners can ship”. Cyanogen CTO, Steve Kondik, also chipped in, confirming that Cyanogen on the OnePlus One is “probably the last you will see from that partnership”.
Obviously OnePlus wasn’t too happy with Cyanogen last year, when the company made an exclusivity deal for Cyanogen OS in India with one of the OnePlus rivals. This effectively limited the OnePlus One from being sold in India.
The OnePlus Two is expected to launch this year, likely running the Oxygen OS, with some higher end hardware and a confirmed higher price. (http://www.kitguru.net/laptops/mobile/matthew-wilson/oneplus-talks-more-on-the-oneplus-two/)

Re-Root Your OnePlus One On OxygenOS – How To

In the previous weeks, OnePlus and Cyanogen Inc had gathered a little heat (http://wccftech.com/oxygenos-cyanogenmod12s-hit-users-late-march/) which persuaded the OnePlus One manufacturer to Develop its own Custom ROM (http://wccftech.com/oneplus-officially-released-oxygenos-lollipop-rom/). The whole point of developing the OxygenOS was not to rely on Cyanogen Inc for CyanogenMods. Since, OnePlus developed its OxygenOS from scratch, it merely came in the form of a downloadable upgrade instead of over the air (OTA) mechanism. So many of the users have installed OxygenOS on their OnePlus One handsets but there aroused a bit of a problem.
http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/oxygenos_feature-635x357.jpg (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/oxygenos_feature.jpg)

After flashing the OxygenOS to the OnePlus handset, users have experience that their root access has been lost. Yes there is a fix to it and we will get on it in a while. Even though the OxygenOS is based on Android 5.0.2, a lot of things seem to work perfectly. However, the SuperSU, which is compatible with KitKat does not respond sometimes because of the lost root access. So what we’re going to do today is show you some steps to regain root access on your OnePlus One after flashing the OxygenOS. Lets get in to it.
Gain Root Access After Installing OxygenOS On Your OnePlus One Before we begin the steps, do consider some of the formalities mentioned. First od all you need to Download SuperSU version 2.48 (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/chainfire/supersu/supersu-2-48-android-apk-download/) from the link. Copy the ZIP files into your phone’s storage. Also do make sure that bootloader on OnePlus One is unlocked and should have TWRP installed on it. Yor OxygenOS should be of the latest version, if its not, check for updates and update it. USB drivers for the OnePlus One should be installed on your PC for easy sending and receiving of data. Lastly, back your data up for any technical issues that might arise.
Step 1:

Go to settings of your device to enable developer options. This will disallow OxygenOS’s personal recovery to show up while accessing thr recovery mode. You can do this by going to Settings >> About Phone >> Repeatedly tap on the build number until a developer message pops up. Now return to settings again, navigate to the Developer Options and locate ‘Update OnePlus Recovery’ Uncheck the box and you’re set to access the host recovery of OnePlus.
Step 2:
Start by shutting down your device and reboot it in the recovery mode. You can access the recovery mode on your OnePlus one by pressing and holding the Power and Volome Down button together. Over here, you will see a TWRP screen and all you need to do is press the Install tab and then navigate to the folder where you saved the SuperSU on your device storage. Select the SuperSU file and swipe to confirm installation.
Step 3:
It might take a while for the root installation to complete, so it is advised to keep at least 80% of battery life in case the operation gets stuck. Moving on, the moment you see a ‘Successful’ message on the display, click the Wipe Cache and Dalvik option. Your OnePlus One will reboot and wake up to rooted OxygenOS.
That’s it folks. You now have a root access to your OnePlus One running the Oxygen OS. If it helped, let us know in the comments section. Do stay tuned for more news and guides.

OnePlus One Receives Permanent Discount To $249, 64GB Model Gains Dropbox Pro Bundle

Following the somewhat messy and unfortunate breakup with Cyanogenmod (http://hothardware.com/news/oneplus-and-cyanogen-officially-file-for-divorce), the OnePlus team has an announcement that it hopes will ease the pain and entice its following to stay loyal -- the OnePlus One (http://hothardware.com/news/oneplus-one-now-available-for-everyone-one-plus-two-flagship-coming-in-q3-2015) handset is now permanently priced at $249. That's a $50 savings over its previous price, and it all began with what was supposed to be a temporary discount.

"Last week, we announced a limited $50 discount on the OnePlus One. We were blown away by the response in sales and took a hard look at the numbers to make sure we were maintaining our commitment to our users," OnePlus stated in a blog post.

http://hothardware.com/ContentImages/NewsItem/33977/content/OnePlus_Dropbox.jpg

OnePlus ultimately deemed the experiment "a great success," and in keeping with its mission of disrupting the smartphone industry, the new price is here to stay. Part of the reason OnePlus is able to permanently offer the OnePlus One at $249 is because the cost of components, engineering, and assembly have all come down due to increased orders.

The new price isn't the only announcement. OnePlus has also teamed with Dropbox (http://hothardware.com/tags/dropbox) to offer users a special deal. Starting June 10th and effective for a limited time only, OnePlus will offer its 64GB OnePlus One handset and a one-year Dropbox Pro subscription bundle for $349.

It's a decent pairing, though with Google now offering unlimited photo and video storage, it will be interesting to see if the Dropbox deal is one that excites potential OnePlus One buyers.

Cyanogen OS 12 OTA Update Hits OnePlus One, Fixes Touchscreen Issues

Among many flagship smartphones introduced last year, OnePlus One has been a favorite to many. Until everything was working fine, there seems to be a a pileup of complaints from last year’s OnePlus flagship users. Affected users complain about touchscreen issues, MMS and Bluetooth. To tackle these abundant problems from showing up altogether, OnePlus issued a Cyanogen OS 12 update, to fix these dilemmas.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/CyanogenMod-635x435.jpg (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/CyanogenMod.jpg)
Even though OnePlus was suppose to release an Android 5.1.1 update soon according to reports from NDTV, the current Cyanogen OS 12 OTA is based on the build YNG1TAS217 Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update will resolve touchscreen sensitivity issues, Bluetooth connectivity difficulties to many devices and MMS problems. Lets get to some deeper details over Cyanogen OS 12 OTA update.
Cyanogen OS 12 OTA Fixes OnePlus One Issues, OxygenOS Paused For Later NDTV further pointed out that OnePlus deemed to correct the touchscreen issues in the previous months when they launched the CyanogenMod 11S 33R in August and the November update included an OTA update. However, the update did not fully extinguish the issue but cleared it to some extent. hence there was a need for another update which would fully justify the hardware capabilities.

The Cyanogen OS 12 OTA is available for download, constituting only 20MB. However, if you face issues regarding the update, a factory image is available with Android Police. Users can go to their website and download the it. The procedure to install the factory image is via the Recovery Mode. To be on the safe side, users should back up all their data before proceeding. Any wrong click may cause device to be bricked or lose data permanently.

Speaking of OnePlus. some of its handset users also run an OxygenOS firmware, which is the Chinese company’s host firmware, launched after disputes with Cyanogen. Since both of these firmware have the same hardware, the problem also persists with users running the OxygenOS. To tackle the same dilemmas, a former OnePlus employee has suggested that the upcoming OxygenOS firmware based on Android 5.1 would fix the issue. however, the process has been temporarily on halt. It would began again, soon after the company is done with its forthcoming flagship, OnePlus 2. That’s all for the update on technical issues faced by OnePlus users. Comment your thought so the community may benefit from them.

CyanogenMod 11.0, 12.0 Are Now Final

http://media.bestofmicro.com/9/N/507083/gallery/CyanogenMod_12_home_w_300.png

Cyanogen announced the final "snapshot" releases for CyanogenMod 11.0 (Android 4.4) and 12.0 (Android 5.0), as the company and the open source community supporting the CyanogenMod project start working on Android M (presumably CyanogenMod version 13). Snapshots are versions of CyanogenMod that are more stable than "nightlies" but less stable than "release candidates."
CyanogenMod is an open source project that officially supports hundreds of devices, and it should not to be confused with Cyanogen OS, a proprietary version made for commercial smartphones such as the OnePlus One (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/cyanogen-12-os-oneplus-one,28929.html).
To the surprise of many, the company released another snapshot version for the KitKat-based Cyanogen 11.0. The reason given was that many CyanogenMod users are stuck on CyanogenMod 11.0 despite Cyanogen 12.0 being available for their phones.

Apparently, many users either considered KitKat to have been a higher-performance version of Android than Lollipop, or they simply didn't like all the animations and white space introduced in Android 5.0 (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/android-5-lollipop-new-changes,27893.html). This compelled Cyanogen to offer another stable (and final) version of CyanogenMod 11.0 with all the latest bug fixes and security patches.
Users who are finally ready to move to Lollipop and the final snapshot version of CyanogenMod 12.0 are advised to also update their "recoveries" to ensure SELinux support doesn't give them any trouble with the new version. According to the company, the users of CyanogenMod 12.1 shouldn't have any reason to downgrade to any of the lower two versions.
Nightlies and weeklies for CyanogenMod 11.0 and 12.0 will be slowly phased out and then entirely shut off, as Android M (http://www.tomsguide.com/us/android-m-new-features,news-20988.html) nightlies begin to appear online. The CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies will continue as normal.
Cyanogen doesn't expect further work on CyanogenMod 11.0 to happen in the future, unless there are some new 'ultra-critical' bugs that show up. CyanogenMod 12.0 bugs should continue to be fixed, as the codebases between CyanogenMod 12.0 and 12.1 are very similar, and the bugs would likely affect them both.

OnePlus Announces Extended Warranty Programme

http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/oneplus-2-teardown-2-800x600.jpg
The original OnePlus handset was described as a “flagship killer” and offered a stunning specification for the price point. Sadly, its successor fell flat and didn’t live up to people’s expectations. This was due to people becoming infuriated with the invite process and large array of alternatives like the Hauwei Honor 7. There have also been some horror stories regarding OnePlus’ standard warranty service which doesn’t evoke consumer confidence.
To tackle this head-on, OnePlus have decided to launch an extended warranty programme which protects against accidental and liquid damage for up to two years. The warranty plan starts at €39.99 for 12 months and features a worldwide support team to produce quick turnarounds. OnePlus (https://blog.oneplus.net/2015/11/protect-your-new-oneplus-device-introducing-an-all-new-customer-service/) have set the 24-month price at €64.99. Despite this, it still falls short compared to cheaper and technically able handsets. For example, the Wileyfox Storm costs £199.99 and allows you to purchase a 3 year warranty for an additional £9.99. Furthermore, a screen replacement service also costs £9.99 per year.
http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/oneplus-logo-big-300x300.png
Another issue to consider is EU law which offers a standard 2 year period. Clearly, this doesn’t cover accidental damage, but it seems OnePlus are oblivious to their legal obligations. In the USA, where consumer rights aren’t as protected, the policy makes more sense. I’m not convinced the new policy will entice people to buy OnePlus devices in large numbers because they are still restricted by the absurd invite system. If OnePlus wants to exist in the next 5-10 years, they have to drop this nonsense.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update For OnePlus One, 2 Confirmed

OnePlus has confirmed the release schedule of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its ‘One’ and ‘2’ smartphones.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Android-Marshmallow-OnePlus-635x326.png
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the latest mobile OS to come out of Mountain View. And while it may be running on a measly number of devices, given how Android updates are rolled out, but that doesn’t mean manufacturers are shy to jump onto the bandwagon with big names already confirming that they have plans to roll out Marshmallow in the coming months. Now, OnePlus, the company behind the famed ‘Flagship Killer’ handsets, has confirmed that it will be rolling out Android Marshmallow for its One and 2 smartphones, with the release scheduled for Q1 of 2016.

For the OnePlus One, Cyanogen OS will be updating to Marshmallow in the first quarter of 2016. We created a community build of OxygenOS for the OnePlus One, but this isn’t what the product officially ships with. We will be updating the community build of OxygenOS for the OnePlus One when time allows.
Rather than sticking to its very own APIs for the fingerprint sensor in the OnePlus 2, the company has also revealed that it would be utilizing Android Marshmallow’s very own native fingerprint API to get things done. The company also revealed that it won’t be using its own fingerprint API once the Marshmallow update is rolled out.

The OnePlus 2 will also be updated in Q1, and the update will include the new standard Marshmallow API for the fingerprint sensor. We’ve heard requests for us creating an API for the current fingerprint implementation in OxygenOS, but have decided against this since we’re switching over to the standard Android M implementation soon.

Regarding Android 6.0 Marshmallow for OnePlus X, the company hasn’t given any timeframe for the time being. But has instead pushed out the kernel sources for the device on GitHub, so be sure to hit the source link below in order to get access to it.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/OnePlus-21-635x529.png
The OnePlus One and 2 run near stock Android with certain customizations around corners to improve the overall experience for the user. While it’s a great move from OnePlus’s end, but it would’ve been even better if the company went with complete stock Android as it would’ve made the process of pushing updates even easier. But hey, who are we to question a decision that was made behind closed doors right?
Keep an eye on that notification bar people, your OnePlus device will be getting Marshmallow in early 2016!
