O tão esperado suporte de 60fps por parte do Youtube parece já estar em vigor:

[PCGAMER] YouTube finally supports 60 FPS video, so here's Arkham City at 4K, 60 FPS.

YouTube now supports 60 FPS videos, so we're testing this feature with this 4K videos from Batman: Arkham Origins.

Ao que parece nesse vídeo em particular há opção de 720p e 1080p a 60fps, ainda não a 4K. Mas de qualquer forma... smoooth. :)

Youtube is testing 4k videos at 60 FPS (http://www.kitguru.net/channel/jon-martindale/youtube-is-testing-4k-videos-at-60-fps/)

If you thought your PC was impressive because it was perfectly happy displaying 4k content on Netflix or Youtube, are you willing to test it out against something running at a higher frame rate? Youtube might have supported both 4k videos and 60 frames per second videos for some time, but lately it’s been testing a few that run at both. Can your PC handle it smoothly?http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/starcitizenattack.jpg
(http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/starcitizenattack.jpg)Of course the beautiful Star Citizen is featured
While there is quite a lot of content on the site at 4K resolutions, there’s only a handful of clips available at that detail level that also runs at a buttery smooth 60 frames per second, but that’s not too surprising considering very few people are actually shooting video at 4k at any decent frame rate right now. In a few years time it might become the norm, but for now it’s much more of a novelty.
Still, if you have a 4k display, here’s a few very detailed clips for you to enjoy:

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/J7MQDULNIdU" frameborder="0" type="text/html"></iframe>
As TechCrunch points out (http://techcrunch.com/2015/03/26/youtube-is-experimenting-with-ultra-high-def-ultra-smooth-video-playback-here-are-the-examples/), these videos are party of a very select playlist called 4k60 (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyqf6gJt7KuHCoYaGNWPx8vkHlClmbO9u) put together by the Youtube developers. It will be interesting to see if it gets any bigger in the next few months.

YouTube Looking To Go Live With YouTube Connect

http://i1.wp.com/www.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/youtubelive.jpg?resize=800%2C394
YouTube is the name people think of when they hear about videos on the internet, and while social media like Facebook and Twitter have added video support, many still prefer to upload to YouTube and then share the video. One thing Facebook and Twitter do that YouTube can’t is to create live videos such as when someone decides that they want to start streaming straight to their audience. This may change though with reports about the new service: YouTube Connect.
VentureBeat may have stumbled (http://venturebeat.com/2016/03/23/google-is-building-youtube-connect-a-live-streaming-app-to-take-on-periscope/) across the new service, which seems to be targeted towards creating a live streaming platform for YouTube users. The feature is based around the ability to start streaming from your mobile phone, but there are other features such as the chat ability and even the ability to tag people and other accounts in the stream. A news feed will allow you to feature the latest clips from friends and subscriptions.
The live videos won’t just be locked to the app, with them simultaneously streamed to their YouTube channels as well, all the while they are saved so that in future someone can come back and catch up on your videos.
While YouTube does currently have live streaming the feature is noted as being in beta and limited as to who can access it, so maybe YouTube Connect will be their way of bringing the feature to the masses in the near future.
