Dead Or Alive 5 is the Latest Glitch-tastic Game Release

http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Dead-Or-Alive-5-i.jpg
Day-one release bugs in video games are becoming a common problem. In the past few months, we’ve had big games like Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Dying Light, and The Order: 1886 ship with multiple glitches. Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is the latest game to join that list, and developers Team NINJA is trying to put out fires all over the place on its official Twitter account.
The first problems, reported on Friday, were that the Xbox One game would freeze if throwdown challenges were turned on, and that Mad Catz fightsticks – the controller of choice for many beat ‘em up fanatics – were not working with the game.

Team NINJA @TeamNINJAStudio (https://twitter.com/TeamNINJAStudio) Follow (https://twitter.com/TeamNINJAStudio)
Mad Catz TE2 fightstick is not workable with newly released DOA5 Last Round Xbox One. We are checking with Mad Catz at this moment. #DOA5LR (https://twitter.com/hashtag/DOA5LR?src=hash)

Concerning the former, Team NINJA advise keeping throwdowns off until the issue is fixed, while Mad Catz are putting the blame for the latter firmly at the feet of the game’s developers:

“Mad Catz have been made aware that our Xbox One Tournament Edition 2 Arcade FightStick is not currently compatible with the Xbox One version of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round. Mad Catz would like to assure the fighting game community that we have contacted Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja, and we are all working to find a solution. It should be noted that controller compatibility is something that is largely out of our hands and needs to be implemented on the developer side. Now that this issue has been brought to all our collective attention, we will do everything we can on our side to ensure that our FightStick will offer full compatibility with the game. It is our understanding that at this time NO specialty controllers / arcade FightSticks from other manufacturers will work on the Xbox One version of DOA5: Last Round. Please continue to check Mad Catz social media for further updates.”
Team NINJA responded with the following statement, insisting the two were working on the problem together:

“It should be noted that controller compatibility is something that is largely out of our hands and needs to be implemented on the developer side. Now that this issue has been brought to all our collective attention, we will do everything we can on our side to ensure that our FightStick will offer full compatibility with the game. Please continue to check Mad Catz social media for further updates.”
Last week, an update for the Xbox 360 version of Dead or Alive 5 triggered the deletion of saved games for some users. Players of the German, Italian, French, or Spanish versions of the game who try to complete the tutorial mode have had their save files vanish.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round PC First Official Requirements and Details

Tecmo Koei has released the first official details (http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/doa5/lastround/info_steam_spec.html) regarding the PC version of Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. The PC version will not feature the current-gen “Soft Engine”, used in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Dead or Alive Last Round and it will feature only PS3-level quality effects. It will require though an Intel i7 870 or better.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DOA5-Last-Round-Outfit-Ban-635x356.png (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/DOA5-Last-Round-Outfit-Ban.png)

While the PC version will have support for resolutions up to 4K, feature-wise it will be a mix between old-gen and current gen. The same shadow quality found in the PS4 will be employed, but sadly it will feature the old physics engine and PS3 level quality effects.. On top of that, the online mode won’t be made available until three months after the game’s release.

It definitely is a shame, that Tecmo Koei, is treating the PC version of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round in this respect. The game could have been a contender in the fighting genre on the PC, but with Mortal Kombat X (http://wccftech.com/mortal-kombat-story-mode-quick-time-events-multiplayer-regionlocked/)coming next month, a potential Tekken 7 release, although unconfirmed as of yet, and Street Fighter 5 coming next year, Tecmo Koei have missed the mark.
With two of the aforementioned fighters using Unreal Engine 4 and the third a heavily modified Unreal Engine 3, it’s sad that Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will be using old-gen technology. I have been a fan of the series from the start, and even though it might lack the depth of some of its competitors, the simple nature of its fighting system can have its appeal.

Dead or Alive: Last Round has a March 30th, 2015 for the PC. We will bring any new information as soon as it becomes available.

You probably want to skip the Dead or Alive 5 PC port (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/you-probably-want-to-skip-the-dead-or-alive-5-pc-port/)

Dead or Alive 5 launches for the PC today following a month-long delay but it seems that very little effort has been put into it as it is missing several important, standard features. For a start, there is no support for Steam cloud saves or Steam Achievements.
However, what is worse than that is the fact that multiplayer won’t be coming as a standard feature and may not be patched in to the PC version of the game for several months.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/doa5-last-round.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/doa5-last-round.jpg)
There is no support for key rebinding on keyboards. The official product information page also lists that “effects” are equivalent to the ones found on the PS3 version of the game, while shadows will be more akin to those found on the PS4.
The Soft Engine, which is used on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game to make character skin look softer, has also been dropped from the PC version of the game. This is all pretty bad news for anyone who might have pre-ordered the game as the massive list of missing features points to a pretty poor PC port.

Dead or Alive 5 PC multiplayer delayed again (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/dead-or-alive-5-pc-multiplayer-delayed-again/)

Dead or Alive 5 launched on the PC back in March of this year but unfortunately, like several other notable fighting games on the PC, it launched with its own set of platform specific issues. As a result of this, multiplayer was not included in the game at launch while the development team worked on getting it up to scratch.
Unfortunately for Dead or Alive fans, the multiplayer mode has been delayed once again, originally it was due to be patched in at the end of June. Unfortunately, Team Ninja, the studio behind the game, have come across “major issues” with the game’s multiplayer so it is going to take a while longer.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/maxresdefault-e1435858954524.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/maxresdefault-e1435858954524.jpg)
The game’s multiplayer mode has now been delayed indefinitely, meaning you might get the mode in a month or two, alternatively you could be left waiting until next year, who knows.
Team Ninja wrote in its blog post (http://teamninja-studio.com/doa5/lastround/us/info_steam1.03_beta_i.html) apologizing to PC users: “We apologize for the last-minute notification and regret deeply the trouble we have caused our Steam customers who were looking forward to the online functionality,” Team Ninja said. “We will update the website with a new release date as soon as it is set.”
