Next Mass Effect Title Will be “Epic in Scale” With Number of Explorable Planets – Won’t be a Prequel

BioWare has already stepped into the next generation of gaming with its latest action role-playing video game known as Dragon Age: Inquisition, which hit the market last month and has since gathered a lot of praise (http://wccftech.com/dragon-age-inquisition-ps4-vs-xbox-one-comparison/). However, gamers are more eager to see the studio’s upcoming next-gen Mass Effect title (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-details-images-video-revealed-male-female-armors-mako-showcased/) in all its glory. While news and leaks about the game are scarce, a rumor has just emerged claiming that the upcoming Mass Effect title will be “epic in scale” and will focus a lot more on exploration than any other previous title in the one of most critically acclaimed sci-fi action role-playing third-person shooter video game series.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Mass-Effect-Concept-Art-635x375.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Mass-Effect-Concept-Art.jpg)
Next Mass Effect Title Won’t be a Prequel – Will Supposedly Feature “Strong Exploration and Beautiful Unique Lands”

BioWare has been pretty reluctant in talking about the upcoming highly anticipated next-gen installment in its famous sci-fi shooter video game series. Other than announcing that the next Mass Effect would use Frostbite 3 engine for its development, much like Dragon Age: Inquisition, back in November 2012 and then rolling out some details (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-details-images-video-revealed-male-female-armors-mako-showcased/) and cool concept art at this year’s (http://wccftech.com/e3-2014-bioware-blows-mass-effect-announcement-trilogy-sequel-powered-frostbite/) Electronic Entertainment Expo, the Canadian video game developer hasn’t given out much, and this is most certainly because there is still plenty of time left before we will finally be able get our hands on the game.

With near to no news, leaks and rumors about the game are pretty scarce too, but it looks like a well-known insider, who himself is a fan of BioWare and its sci-fi video game series, has just come up with some little tidbits of information for Mass Effect fans. According to Shinobi602 (https://twitter.com/shinobi602), the game will have an epic scope with larger scale, thanks to an “impressive” number of explorable planets and unique lands. Putting some hints about the upcoming game on NeoGAF (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=616046), he said:

“[…] However it’ll be much more open than previous ME games. The number of explorable planets they’re targeting alone is impressive to say the least. One of the new game’s core pillars is ‘epic scale’. ME1’s uncharted worlds done right: strong exploration, sense of discovery, beautiful unique lands. So many awesome additions to the formula.”

Lembro, eu joguei o jogo à pouco tempo.

The New Mass Effect Aims to Make Players Proud – Will Have a New Feature, and its Own Identity

The Mass Effect franchise has provided gamers with some of the most imaginative sci-fi worlds ever created. The series remains one my favorite and I am eagerly looking forward to more info and footage of the next installment. It is not yet known to us whether it will precede the events and time period of the originals or if it will be set in the future. Regardless whichever it turns out to be, it will surely take us back to the wonderful Mass Effect universe and provide us with countless hours of exploration and exciting “Space Opera” moments. http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/conceptart6png-37bb2a-635x355.jpg (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/conceptart6png-37bb2a.jpg)Image Courtesy of IGN

Some interesting new details on the next Mass Effect The general manager at Bioware, Aaryn Flynn recently explained that the next Mass Effect is going to be it’s own game and not rely on other titles like Dragon Age Inquisition to find success. The developing team is “very proud” of what they have accomplished with Dragon Age Inquisition, but its success does not “set a template for what every other game we make needs to be”.
He continues that “The next Mass Effect will be (and should be) drawing on its own rich and successful past more than what DAI would say it should do. Take the Mako, something we’ve already shown in prototype form. We had that in ME1, and bringing it back is more related to a feeling that we can do it much better than we did before and fulfill the original promise of that gameplay,” he said on NeoGAF. (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=149962268&postcount=4698)

Fabrice Condominas, Mass Effect’s Producer at BioWare Montreal, tweeted: “Playing the latest Mass Effect build while listening to Daft Punk brings a weird retro-futuristic tone to the game”. He later revealed though that he was “playing with a new feature”, “although it is still an ugly prototype,” he was happy to toy around with it. It’s not known what this feature is and how it is implemented in the next Mass Effect, but it would be very interesting to find out.

BioWare Working on Online Multiplayer for New Mass Effect Game

http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Mass-Effect-800x500.png
BioWare’s new Mass Effect game will feature online play, according to a tweet from Senior Development Director Chris Wynn. Wynn tweeted a link for a job listing for an online content producer on the game.

Things are getting real now and I need an excellent Producer to come shape online for the next Mass Effect

The job posting for Online Producer at BioWare Montreal wants someone to “Create and champion the vision of the multi-player, connected experiences and online features of the game which respects the project leadership goals and be accountable for the quality targets and the results achieved.”
The next entry in the Mass Effect series, set to break away from the Commander Shepard trilogy, is being written by Halo 4 scribe Chris Schlerf. The game is said to concentrate on exploration, and will see the return of the Mako, the infamous ATV from the first game.
Is BioWare’s push for online content in the next Mass Effect game the reason why the company cancelled production on Shadow Realms (http://www.eteknix.com/bioware-cancels-shadow-realms-game/)?

Mass Effect 4 – Online Component Won’t Take Away From The ‘Massive’ Single Player

Mass Effect 3 was both loved and hated at the same time by many players, but the fact remains that it had a fantastic multiplayer suite. Players logged for countless hours into it and it never seemed to subtract from the games massive single player narrative. It seems that the same will be true for the next Mass Effect, according to Chris Wynn, the Senior Development Director for the game.

Speaking by way of his personal Twitter feed, Chris has said,

“If anyone is concerned that online will take away from single player, I assure you that SP will be MASSIVE in the next Mass Effect.” Speaking to a player that didn’t want multiplayer in the game, because there’s always a dissenting opinion, Chris simply said to “keep in mind that many people do.” Another use jokingly asked Chris to promise he would take good care of the game because they were feeling nervous, to which he responded, “I promise and will even pinky swear.”
Jay Watamaniuk, a writer at Bioware recently Tweeted about a company meeting that featured lots of “#space stuff” and looking“remarkable” something that reassures us about the visual fidelity of the game. Of course this is to be expected since the team is working on the Frostbyte 3 engine. http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/conceptart2png-37bb28-635x356.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/conceptart2png-37bb28.jpg)Image Courtesy of IGN

Speaking about the meeting, Michael Gamble, producer on the game, Tweeted out a message saying, “Amazing @bioware studio meeting today. Lots of wonderful Dragon Age and Mass Effect content. I’m so proud to be part of this.”

The general manager at Bioware, Aaryn Flynn recently explained (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-aims-players-proud-feature-identity/#ixzz3RqR19CtI) that the next Mass Effect is going to be it’s own game and not rely on other titles like Dragon Age Inquisition to find success.

I am a huge fan of the series and I absolutely loved the original trilogy. It remains one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life and I am waiting with baited breath for any new information on the next installment. More importantly though, I am looking forward to some gameplay footage of the game. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for that, as E3 2015 is not too far off.
The next Mass Effect does not have a release date yet but is expected to arrive on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Mass Effect “is looking awesome” says the Senior Development Director

Chris Wynn, the Senior Development Director for the next Mass Effect game, took to twitter the other day and responded to a few fans that were asking around about the next Mass Effect. Previously he has stated that The online component won’t take away from the Massive Single player (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-online-component-wont-massive-single-player/).

Cinematic Teaser quite likely for Mass Effect at E3 There’s not a lot of information out there about the next Mass Effect game, there have been a few tidbits popping up here and there, such as The Single Player campaign is supposedly going to be massive, or that the beloved physics and gravity defying Mako is making a comeback for planetary exploration and such. As well as the game taking place in a new region of space and that it’s not going to be a prequel.

Here we can see Chris Wynn jump into a conversation about E3 and the next Mass Effect game in the tweets below:

</b>
</b>Now beyond this it appears that a software Engineer might have accidentally revealed the release date on his LinkedIn page which now is set to private, and that date would be October 2016. Now this would seem kind of plausible since the game was first “revealed” back in 2014, and thus it has been in the works for some time as with most titles. On the other hand most major AAA-titles these days usually end up getting delayed or they end up being severely broken on launch so who knows, 2017 seems to me at least, a bit more plausible.

What I personally want to see from the next Mass Effect game, is you playing as a “smaller” character, not someone who makes galaxy wide decisions, let me play a good for nothing smuggler or a Mercenary with moral-issues, or why not some Special Forces character. As long as they have an overlapping story tying everything together then that should be pretty doable.

Mass Effect 4 Will Likely Make an Appearance at E3

Mass Effect 4, might make its first appearance at this year’s E3 event in June. This is not a confirmation by any means, but it does indicate that there could be some updates regarding the next Mass Effect. A subsequent tweet from Jonathan Warner, senior producer on Mass Effect 4, reveal that the world is taking shape right before his eyes and characterises it as “stunning”.

Mass Effect 4’s Creative Director Asks Fans What They Want

It has been hinted in the past that Mass Effect 4 might make an appearance during E3 (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-appearance-e3/) this summer, and this might very well be true, and it sure would be great to see the game in action, or even just a cinematic trailer. And the Creative Director took to twitter earlier to point out that “it’s looking awesome (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-awesome-director/)” so far.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Mass-Effect-635x357.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Mass-Effect.jpg)
Can It Be E3 Already so That We Get To See Some Mass Effect 4? Bioware’s Creative Director for the Mass Effect franchise Mac Walters sent out a tweet yesterday asking for some ideas on new features, systems or just gameplay in general. And as we can see below there are some pretty great responses, and it would appear that Walters enjoyed some of the suggestions as he re-tweeted them.

Mass Effect – More Teasing With Tweets From The Team “Finishing Another Milestone Soon”

In the past the Senior Development Director – Chris Wynn (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-awesome-director/), of the upcoming Mass Effect game has stated on twitter that “it’s looking awesome”, and the Creative Director – Mac Walters (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-creative-director-ask-fans/), has gone and asked fans via twitter what they would like to see in the upcoming Mass Effect. Now it’s time for some more teasing from a team member, and this time it’s a Producer on the Mass Effect Team – Michael Gamble, who says that the team will have finished another development milestone ‘soon’.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Mass-Effect-635x351.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Mass-Effect.jpg)
“Oh, what’s that? The Mass Effect team is finishing another milestone soon?” Twitter is becoming more and more a place where developers actually talk a bit about the games they are currently working on, albeit in a quite secretive and teasing manner. It’s not that often we do see new major info via twitter, but from time to time that happens as well.
Either way a Producer on the new Mass Effect game – Michael Gamble, seems quite pleased that the team has soon finished up another major development milestone, and he does actually mention that “timing is everything” when it comes to revealing more info about the game. And this could be seen as yet another confirmation (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-appearance-e3/) that we will see something during E3 later on this year.

Mass Effect – Latest Details

Mass Effect 4, is definitely coming, but so far almost nothing substantial has been revealed from EA or Bioware. Every now and then we get the occasional teases from people involved in the game, through interviews or by some very exciting tweets.
http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/New-Mass-Effect-E3-2014-Conceptual-Art-_8-635x357.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/New-Mass-Effect-E3-2014-Conceptual-Art-_8.jpg)
Industry insider Shinobi602, has shared some information in Neogaf regarding Mass Effect’ release:

“From people I’ve talked to close to the thing, it’s still a 2016 release but haven’t yet nailed down deciding between Spring or Fall. EA usually has multiple high-profile releases every year, and with Battlefield 5 targeting Q4 2016, for now until I hear more, I’m assuming earlier than Fall is the target. They did however release NFS Rivals and BF4 at the same time, so it could still be the Fall. Of course, delays are always possible with any game, but this thing’s been in development since 2012. It won’t skip next year.”

Chris Wynn, Senior Development Director of Mass Effect, recently tweeted about the combat of the game by saying:
“Combat is looking pretty great in the latest builds. Biotics plus weapons plus powerful hardware is amazing.”

Michael Gamble stated on Twitter:
“Oh, what’s that? The Mass Effect team is finishing another milestone soon? It’s almost like we are building a real game or something.”

http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Mass_Effect_logo-635x186.png (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Mass_Effect_logo.png)
Mass Effect should make an appearance at E3 later this year, lets hope we’re in for a treat

What could Michael Gamble be referring at? Lets hope that everything comes together, and we do get to see something truly spectacular at E3 later this year. Mass Effect has been in development for such a long time, and it would be quite exciting to see what Bioware has in store for the future of the amazing Mass Effect universe.

To call the next game ‘Mass Effect 4′ or ‘ME4′ is doing it a disservice and seems to cause a lot of confusion here. We have already said that the Commander Shepard trilogy is over and that the next game will not feature him/her. That is the only detail you have on the game. I see people saying ‘well, they’ll have to pick a canon ending.’ No, because the game does not have to come after. Or before. Or off to the side. Or with characters you know. Or yaddayaddayadda. Wherever, whenever, whoever, etc will all be revealed years down the road when we actually start talking about it. I do not call the game ME4 when I talk about it ever, [because] that makes people think of it more as ‘what happens after ‘Mass Effect 3′ rather than ‘what game happens next set in the ‘Mass Effect’ Universe. Obviously fans are going to speculate content, character and story until we actually reveal details in the years or months to come as you have almost no actual details, just don’t get bogged down in ‘well how are they going to continue ME3.’ Chris Priestly

We will bring you any new information regarding Mass Effect as soon as it becomes available.

The next Mass Effect will likely make an appearance at E3 2015 in June Although this isn’t much, we have to endure getting by with these minor teases until Bioware is ready to share some more substantial details and hopefully some gameplay footage at E3, 2015 in June.

The developers went on Tweeter teasing the fans, with producer Michael Gamble tweeting that the uocing installment is reaching another milestone soon.

The “Mass Effect” team is finishing another milestone soon? It’s almost like we are building a real game or something.”
Gambled seemed very pleased, however it was not hinted as to what he might pertain to. Gamers have requested that a race selection should be added for the next iteration in the Mass Effect saga, since its universe was created to be so vast and features a variety of races.
We will bring you any new information on the next Mass Effect as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime you can read more in our previous coverage here (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-latest-details-release/)and here (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-teasing-tweets-team-finishing-milestone/).

New Mass Effect “Looking Great” on PC, Says BioWare Creative Director

http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/new-mass-effect-1-800x450.jpg
BioWare’s Creative Director Mac Walters has confirmed that the next Mass Effect game is set for PC release, and that it is “Looking great!”. Walters, who was lead writer on both Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, responded to a Twitter user asking him to dispel rumours that the new Mass Effect game would not be on PC, which he did:

Eric Fenzl @efenzl (https://twitter.com/efenzl)
@macwalterslives (https://twitter.com/macwalterslives) Can you squash the rumor that ME4 is not coming to PC?

<b class="p-nickname">

Follow (https://twitter.com/macwalterslives)
@efenzl (https://twitter.com/efenzl) Yes. I was just reviewing on PC today. Looking great!

</b> BioWare has been at great pains to stress that the latest entry in the Mass Effect franchise should not be referred to as “Mass Effect 4”, since the game does not continue the story of Commander Shepard. The developer has also confirmed that, although it will run on the Frostbite engine, the game will not use the same ‘template’ as its fantasy RPG, Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Bioware Responds to Fans Regarding the Future of Dragon Age & Mass Effect

Bioware addressed some fan questions recently, providing some interesting thoughts regarding the future of some their most beloved franchises. They were asked whether Dragon Age and Mass Effect would end or if they intended to keep “cranking them out” as long as they are selling.

http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Mass_Effect_logo-635x186.png (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Mass_Effect_logo.png)

Mark Darrah replied, “don’t have a sunset planned for the Dragon Age franchise at this time”

Aaryn Flynn, then replied to the “cranking out” remark,
Yeah I don’t know about “cranking out as long as they keep selling”. EVENTUALLY these things just get fatigued and need to rest until people are prepared to carry that torch again. By the same token, there’s a cycle to entertainment – if you’d told me 10 years ago that there would be a healthy resurgence of isometric RPGs (Pillars of Eternity, more Baldur’s Gate, and more), I’d have said you were crazy! But here we are, and I’m glad I was wrong.

http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Dragon-Age-Inquisition-_24-635x357.jpg (http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Dragon-Age-Inquisition-_24.jpg)
In response as to why they chose to use the Frostbite engine, and the possibility of mods for their games, Creative Director Mike Laidlaw stated:
Frostbite presents many technical hurdles. We would like to explore mod-capability in the future, but given the number of games that use this engine, it is a very long and involved discussion.

These are good news for fans of the Dragon Age franchise, and given the awards Dragon Age Inquisition has received this year, it should come to no surprise. It’s nice to know there is a huge lore that can expand many more iterations, and evolve into something even deeper and vast.
The possibility of mods for Bioware games is questionable but it seems that the team might be open to it at some point. Frostbite is a very capable engine, although Mike Laidlaw mentioned some technical hurdles. While we are not aware of what he might be referring to, there might be a chance that they are not completely satisfied working with the engine. Of course, EA uses the Frostbite engine for most of their titles, apart from their sport sims, which use their Ignite engine.

Next month at the Star Wars Celebration event, we will get to witness the first gameplay footage for Star Wars Battlefront, which also uses the Frostbite engine, and from the response of people who have already seen it should look incredible.
We will keep you informed with any new information that becomes available from Bioware, including development updates for Mass Effect, as well as all the new information and footage for Star Wars Battlefront from DICE. Mass Effect 4 Story and Gameplay Details Might Have Been Leaked Through Survey

Mass Effect 4 development progress has been constantly teased by members of the development team at Bioware, with bits of information on the next iteration of the space opera franchise being shared. A reddit user who takes part in surveys claims to have received one from Bioware asking for his opinion regarding many features of the game.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Mass-Effect-1-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Mass-Effect-1.jpg)
The legitimacy cannot be validated but everything appears to be professionally written. Note that details regarding Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition were leaked the exact same way.
http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/New-Mass-Effect-E3-2014-Conceptual-Art-_8-635x357.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/New-Mass-Effect-E3-2014-Conceptual-Art-_8.jpg)
The Next Mass Effect Context: The next Mass Effect game takes place in the Helius Cluster (a cluster of 100s of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard’s heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy. You are a pathfinder, a combat trained but un-tested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster to establish a new home for humanity. As you explore this sprawling series of solar systems (over 4x the size of Mass Effect 3), collecting resources and building colonies, you will encounter the savagery of untamed lands in the form of cut-throat outlaws and warring alien races. To survive and colonize the wild reaches of space, you will need to grow your arsenal, your ship, your crew and make strategic (and often uneasy) alliances to fight against increasingly menacing foes. Along the way, you will encounter the remains of a once powerful and mysterious alien race, the Remnant, whose forgotten technology holds the key to gaining power in this region of the galaxy. As you uncover who the Remnant were, and the mysteries their ruins contain, you are drawn into a violent race to find the source of their forgotten technology that will determine the fate of humanity.
Collect Resources to Fuel your Growth: Scour solar systems and planets within the Helius Cluster to find valuable resources and blueprints of long forgotten alien technology that will allow you to craft better equipment and weapons, such as improving your leg armor to allow you to jetpack jump, or upgrading your cryo-beam (laser cannon) to target enemies or do area damage around you to clear out close threats. As you build your arsenal and resource infrastructure, you will be able to explore deeper into the increasingly dangerous and resource-rich solar systems of the Helius Cluster.
A Capable Crew: Throughout the story, you will recruit seven distinct crew members to fight by your side. Each crew member has a unique personality and specific abilities that open up strategic options as you choose which two of them to bring into each mission. For example, Cora has the ability to deploy a biotic shield that protects everyone in the bubble while still allowing you and your squad to fire out of it. Your crew will grow alongside you as you explore the Helius Cluster, and you can choose how you upgrade your crew’s weapons, gear and abilities to increase their individual combat effectiveness. Create the perfect squad to react to any situation and to support your preferred gameplay style.
Your Crew, Your Story: Your crew members aren’t merely hired guns – they are part of the living universe in the Helius Cluster that develops in response to your actions and choices. Increase each crew member’s loyalty by pursuing missions that are important to that specific character. For example, when a Krogan colony ship has been stolen by one of the outlaw factions leaving the colonists stranded without resources to survive, your Krogan squad mate, Drack, is determined to strike out against them. If you take the mission and help him track down the outlaws’ hideout to return the ship to its rightful owners, Drack’s loyalty toward you and your squad will increase and Drack will unlock a brand new skill tree.
Explore each individual’s backstory and develop your relationship with them through conversations and unique missions. True to Mass Effect, what you choose to say will directly affect your crew’s loyalty and relationship with you, and will open up different conversations and narrative opportunities at the end of the game depending upon how you approach each encounter.
Deployed Strike Team Missions: The Helius Cluster is 1000s of light years across, and you can’t be everywhere at once. As you develop more colonies, resource bases and settlements, you have to be able to keep them safe. Spend resources to recruit mercenaries and develop an AI controlled Strike Team that you can deploy to take on randomly generated, time-sensitive missions. Strike Team missions take many forms, including settlement defense and Remnant artifact recovery, which will take real-time to complete. Send your Strike Team out on a mission while you continue playing the main game and they will return, 20 – 30 minutes later, having gained rewards such as XP, currency and equipment based on the success of their mission. Spend money and resources to train your Strike Team and acquire better gear for them, which will increase their success rate and allow them to take on more difficult missions for greater rewards.
Active Strike Team Missions: When you encounter a Strike Team mission in the Single-Player mode, you can leave your Strike Team at their base and decide to tackle the mission yourself with your Multiplayer roster of characters. You also have the option of tackling the mission by yourself, or recruiting up to three friends to play with you. The more friends you bring, the greater the challenge and the greater the reward. These missions will play out using the Next Mass Effect’s multiplayer Horde mode (more details on this later). These missions will include a variety of thematically appropriate objectives, like defending a Settlement against Khet attacks, or recovering a Remnant artifact off of a planet before an outlaw gang gets there first. By taking an active role in strike team missions, you can earn special Single-player rewards in addition to the usual multiplayer specific characters, weapons, weapon mods, and pieces of equipment which can be customized between missions. Additionally, players who join another person’s Strike Team mission will receive bonus in-game currency and multiplayer XP for helping others with their missions.
Multiplayer “Horde” Mode: The next Mass Effect’s “Horde” multiplayer pits you and up to three of your friends against waves of enemy troops on various battlefields throughout the galaxy. Players fight together to survive increasingly difficult enemy attacks and accomplish objectives, like disabling a bomb near a colony base or assassinating a target. Progress through multiplayer missions to gain XP and earn new multiplayer specific weapons, characters, weapon mods, and pieces of equipment, which can be customized between matches. Multiplayer play will also earn you APEX funds (in-game currency), which can be used to purchase items and gear in the Single Player game.
Establish Settlements: Search solar systems for rare habitable planets to establish a settlement that could serve as a base for humankind’s new home in the Helius Cluster. As you build permanent settlements, you will make strategic choices on where to focus your new base’s resources. For example: Recon Settlements will clear fog of war from the space map and give the player more strike team missions to choose from, while Mining Settlements will periodically supplement the player’s supply of crafting materials.

Dialogue: Building upon the rich history of strategic dialogue that has defined the Mass Effect series, you can make meaningful choices in every conversation you have with characters that impact the way your game evolves. The next Mass Effect adds deeper control over your conversations through a greater ability to interrupt and change the course of the conversation as it is happening. During certain conversations, you will be able to take action based choices, such as the option to pull out your gun and force someone to open a door instead of convincing them to do it through conversational guile. Action based choices give you more options for how you approach dialogue with characters in the game and can lead to more extreme outcomes on the story as it evolves around the decisions you make when interacting with a huge cast of NPC characters.
Seamlessly Travel Through the Next Mass Effect Universe: As you pilot your space ship, Tempest, across the 100s of solar systems that are seamlessly connected in the next Mass Effect, you will encounter new planets filled with valuable resources, intelligent life, conflict, and alien technology that all give you opportunities to increase the power of your character, your ship and your team so that you can build them into a force that perfectly suits your gameplay style. Transitions between activities, like flying your Tempest (space ship) across a solar system to land on a mineral rich planet, then jumping into your Mako (land vehicle) to explore the surface of planet, all happen smoothly without loading screens.
Customize and Share Your Experience: Discover new things in Andromeda Galaxy, like alien artifacts and natural wonders, that serve as trophies and decorations that you can use to modify the look of your character, Tempest (Space Ship) and Mako (land vehicle). Customize the way your squad and your character look with clothes and aesthetic modifications that you unlock throughout the game. Photos you take from the far reaches of the galaxy can be used to decorate your starship or sold to certain characters.
Remnant Vault Raids: Find and activate Remnant Monoliths to unlock Remnant vaults. Explore abandoned Remnant ruins to find and locate a powerful artifact, but once you remove it you will trigger the vault defenses that will arm traps, activate defense robots and even change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. Fight your way out of the vault and you will be rewarded with valuable loot, including powerful gear, crafting resources and Star Keys that can be used to unlock massive orbital facilities in space that grant permanent stat bonuses. Optional Elite Remnant Vault Raids are scattered around the Helius Cluster located in special orbital facilities that are unlocked by Star Keys. Similar to the standard Remnant Vaults, you enter them to retrieve a special artifact which will trigger the vault defenses that arm traps, activate defense robots and change the architecture of the vault itself to stop you from escaping. However, Elite vaults ratchet up the difficulty of the encounter with increasingly powerful defense robots and traps, as well as roaming outlaws and deadly Khet patrols that are also in search of the elite artifacts. Elite Remnant vaults will test the limits of your combat and puzzle solving acumen, but with greater difficulty comes greater rewards. Gain rare loot, narrative acclaim and huge rewards for completing these daunting challenges.
Khet Outposts: As you explore planets throughout the Helius Cluster, you will encounter Khet Outposts. These outposts are optional combat experiences where you enter the outpost and fight off waves of enemies. Destroy Khet outposts to earn XP, rewards and thwart their growing power in the region. Your allies will reward you with praise and increased narrative options as you fight to remove the Khet presence from the region.
Drive and upgrade your Mako (land vehicle): Explore the surfaces of 100s of planets in the Helius Cluster in your versatile land vehicle, the Mako. Whether you are looking for a place to set up a colony, searching for a Remnant vault or attacking a Khet Outpost, you will enjoy getting there in your Mako. Equip and upgrade your Mako in dozens of ways, like adding turbo boosters, upgrading your shield generator or adding a Hostile Detector to your radar to create the ultimate planetary exploration vehicle. Finally, get your Mako looking the way you want with a custom paint job.

Mass Effect 4 Development Team is Very Excited About Development

It’s great to see actual passion coming from those that are working on their projects. If they love it, then at least that passion will show through with a finished product, though we may not all agree to it’s significance. With video games it is no different, and thankfully the Mass Effect 4 development team seems to be quite thrilled to be creating such a masterpiece.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/mass-effect-4-635x348.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/mass-effect-4.jpg)
A Mass Effect 4 level designer is “…so excited to build it” Making art, all types of art, can be a labor of love, and video games certainly fit within the definition of art. Some do at least. For lead designer Jos Hendricks, it’s something he’s immensely passionate about.
He’s been tweeting about his experience with some of the work that they’re doing at BioWare for the next Mass Effect, and he certainly gets quite excited about the progress they’re making and, more importantly, the story they’re weaving together.
Apparently Jos had tweeted that he thoroughly enjoys working as part of a team to create something so magnificent to be shared.

Mass Effect 4 – Challenging Combat Teased By Bioware Developer

Bioware has been teasing several aspects of the next Mass Effect over the last few months, giving regular updates of its development via twitter. With E3 2015 just around the corner, Mass Effect fans are in for a treat, as we are finally getting a first glimpse of the title.

Bioware staffer Jos Hendriks a couple of days ago started tweeting about how difficult the combat of the new Mass Effect is.
Jos made statements like:

“Well that combat certainly works. I just got my ass handed to me,”
“I hope the people reviewing my mission in the coming days know their stuff, because these combats are no joke.”
He continued:

“After fixing a bunch of problems the other day, today I re-double efforts to get some banter and combat implemented.”

Mass Effect 4 Won’t Be a Prequel, Bioware Confirms

One of the developers from BioWare, Chris Wynn, took to Twitter to respond to a question of a fan, confirming that Mass Effect 4 won’t be prequel, but he also mentioned that it won’t necessarily be a sequel either.

Mass Effect 4 won’t be a prequel, or maybe even a sequel, so what will it be then? The survey (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-story-gameplay-details-leaked-survey/) that supposedly leaked potential details about the story may very well indeed be more accurate than we thought. The details therein pointed towards a separate story that’s completely unrelated to the adventures of Commander Shepard. The timeline could be before chronicling the first attempts at deep space exploration in this very universe, or it could be far afterwards featuring a completely new apologue.

Prequels and sequels are only such if their stories tie into the original content, so because of the massive and rich universe that is Mass Effect created by BioWare and Drew Karpyshyn, it’s possible to take advantage of the wide stage to have a familiar backdrop with distinct story elements. If they develop a story with the help of professional story tellers
Mass Effect 4 has been in development for quite some time and a lot of good work as supposedly been put into it. A lot of passionate (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-4-development-team-excited-development/) work, in fact. Even though development is indeed their business, being passionate and enjoying the creation process can immensely help with the quality of the final product.
Mass Effect 4 is expected to be released sometime in 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and the PC, and hopefully we’ll hear some great news about it at E3 happening later this month. The expectation is that EA and BioWare will want to tease some gameplay, or at least show us some screenshots of the work they’ve done.
So stay tuned for any new and exciting information regarding Mass Effect 4. We’re just as excited as you are.

Today we debuted the first cinematic trailer for our next game, Mass Effect™: Andromeda. While we are still many months away from the game’s release date in holiday 2016, we’re excited to show you a bit of where we’re at. First, though, some background on the game itself.
When we wrapped up the original Mass Effect trilogy with Mass Effect 3: Citadel in early 2013, planning and design on Mass Effect: Andromeda was already well underway. We knew we wanted to start with a foundation composed of the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action. At the same time, we clearly wanted to expand the definition of what you should expect from a Mass Effect game.
While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.

We built this trailer in Frostbite™, our game engine, and it represents our visual target for the final game. We are thrilled by what we’ve already been able to achieve in bringing Mass Effect to Frostbite and by putting our entire focus on PC and current gen consoles. With the time remaining in development, we’re excited about the possibility to push things even more.
Thank you again for all of the support you keep showing us, and we’re looking forward to sharing more details with you near the end of the year. Until then, the teams in our Montreal, Edmonton, and Austin studios will be hard at work creating an entirely new adventure for you to lose yourselves in.
Thanks,
Aaryn Flynn, Studio General Manager, BioWare Canada
Yanick Roy, Studio Director, BioWare Montreal

Mass Effect Andromeda’s Main Character Has a Last Name (we just don;t know it yet) and Spectacular Armor Design Concept Art

Some great new details regarding BioWare’s upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda have emerged. The slow and steady deluge of good information continues, this time giving insight into just exactly who the new character we’ll be journeying with is.

Still playing coy, however. The unfortunate part is that the actual tidbits have been held back for now. But at least we know that the character will likely be just as complete and intricate as Commander Shepard. Creating your character in the original Mass Effect wasn’t just a simple character creation screen, but instead an exercise in making the background for a very deep and significant person.

http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/CLVQvyQWcAAyn_g-635x952.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/CLVQvyQWcAAyn_g.jpg)Mass Effect: Andromeda Armor Concept Art

Of course the concept of our new character is well known, being featured in the fantastic E3 trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG8V9dRqSsw), but what we haven’t seen are the usual variations of the armor and outerwear common to the series. Above is some great concept art of what N7 armor might look like in this timeline.
Naturally we’d like to know a lot more and know it as soon as possible, but they want to save the best details for the release during the holiday season of 2016.
Mass Effect: Andromeda thus far looks to at least follow along with the expectations that fans have of such an iconic and profound story. Completely different than the previous Mass Effect’s, it follows the story of a group of aspiring individuals as they explore the Andromeda galaxy.
It promises to expand on the universe with a unique story, hopefully written by Drew Karpyshyn, a novel dynamic (and procedural generated?) weather system and of course an ending that will be more rewarding than that of Mass Effect 3. To me, though, Mass Effect 3’s ending was not lackluster but just wasn’t what I wanted for the characters. It’s that evoking of emotions that makes the story so incredibly great, however. That’s a sign of good story-telling, making you uncomfortable and having you come back for more.

Mass Effect Andromeda Might Have Its Lead Character’s Name Leaked

We had reported (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromedas-main-character-has-a-last-name-and-spectacular-armor-design-concept-art/) that Mass Effect Andromeda has a protagonist with a last name, but unfortunately, we did not have any information regarding his, or her identity, until now.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-635x357-635x357.png (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-635x357.png)
Mass Effect Andromeda Has Its Main Character’s Name Leaked In Latest Trailer – Check It Out To See For Yourself For those who are not fond of spoilers might want to turn away from this because Mass Effect Andromeda’s latest trailer might have given away information concerning the elusive identity of the protagonist that we will be playing as in 2016. For those of you who want the suspense to get over quickly will have to watch the trailer and pause at exactly 0:44 seconds and focus your attention towards the left hand side of the image.
From what we can tell, the image is a dog tag, and according to a Reddit user going by name of Benelioto, the name of the lead character is either Ryder, or Rider. Unfortunately, both BioWare and EA have kept the leak jar under its firm grip and has prevented majority of the useful information from spreading and being plastered all over the internet.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-4-635x357-635x357.png (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-4-635x357.png)
However, we did report that the upcoming video game promises to expand on the universe with a unique story, and it will hopefully be written by Drew Karpyshyn. Perhaps this time, the ending will be much more satisfying compared to the climax we got to experience in Mass Effect 3; not that there was nothing wrong with it, but there are thousands of gamers out there, including us that were expecting a completely different ending. Hopefully, our appetites are going to be satisfied with Mass Effect Andromeda, which is slated for a release sometime in 2016.

Previously, we also reported (http://wccftech.com/bioware-andromeda-is-the-best-largest-mass-effect-ever/) that BioWare’s creative development director Alistair McNally, had shared on Twitter his feelings regarding Mass Effect Andromeda, stating that he believes the latest iteration of the space opera franchise to be the “Best and certainly largest Mass Effect Ever”. Let us hope that both BioWare and EA keeps our hopes alive towards the end of game.

Mass Effect Andromeda Leak Provides New Gameplay Info

A Mass Effect Andromeda leak appeared a few hours ago on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/3tpug2/mass_effect_andromeda_gameplay_information_leak/cx866t5). Take it with a grain of salt; while the moderators of the Mass Effect subreddit have verified the source’s proof, the source also requested them not to share the proof, supposedly in an effort to diminish the likelihood that the leak source will be identified by Bioware/Electronic Arts.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-4-635x357-635x357.png (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Mass-Effect-4-635x357.png)
This particular Mass Effect Andromeda leak focuses on story and gameplay information. Here’s a recap:

There will be two squad mates accompanying the main character; the leaker mentioned a human blonde woman and a krogan
All squad mates will be equipped with jetpacks, which comes in handy during exploration
The Omnitool now has more functionality, such as a combat shield
We can expect far greater detail in character facial features and models
Destructible covers thanks to Frostbite
It should be possible to customize the Mako this time around
The main character will be referred to as ‘the pathfinder’, which makes sense since apparently the story revolves around finding a new home for humanity and other races.
There will be a ‘Pathfinder quarters’ section on the ship
Mass Effect Andromeda will feature a new ship travel system (Instead of the old galaxy map) where the player manually flies the ship
The ship itself will be completely different in terms of size and type (presumably bigger)
Enemies are described as a bipedal cross between Vorcha and Collectors
The (non-human) enemies drop into combat from Cerberus ships
One of the antagonists is a human soldier with armor similar to yours but without N7 insignia

Mass Effect Andromeda is the first new entry in the Mass Effect universe after the original trilogy concluded. As the name suggests, it will take place in the Andromeda galaxy (the closest to our Milky Way) and chronologically long after the events of the previous trilogy; the main character (whose name might have been leaked in the latest trailer (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromeda-lead-characters-name-leak/), by the way) will be a human male or female, and Bioware’s Aaryn Flynn explained this choice in a tweet recently.

@Gavin_J_Porter (https://twitter.com/Gavin_J_Porter) @macwalterslives (https://twitter.com/macwalterslives) Good question. The story is very much a human one, and we wanted to focus on that so it's relatable

The game, called the best and largest Mass Effect ever (http://wccftech.com/bioware-andromeda-is-the-best-largest-mass-effect-ever/) by Bioware’s Alistair McNally, will be powered by Frostbite engine. Given its planned Holiday 2016 release date, it’s extremely likely that it will require DirectX 12 compatible hardware – DICE’s Johan Andersson wished as much (http://wccftech.com/johan-andersson-frostbite-technical-director-win10-dx12-requirement-holiday-2016-games/), at least.
Given the stunning E3 2015 announcement trailer (which we have embedded below), rendered with the Frostbite engine as a visual target for the final version of Mass Effect Andromeda, a DX12 min spec seems appropriate to reach that kind of graphics.

As for the information leak, we’ll probably discover the truth about it at E3 2016, when Mass Effect Andromeda will undoubtedly be revealed in detail.

Mass Effect Andromeda Played “Properly” In “Context”, First “Holy Shit” Moment From Level Designer

Mass Effect Andromeda level designer Jos Hendriks has taken to Twitter, to share that he has been playing Andromeda properly, for the first time. According Hendriks, he now has played Bioware’s upcoming title in context with content created by his fellow team members.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Mass-Effect-3-635x357.png (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Mass-Effect-3.png)
Over the past year, Bioware developers have been teasing Andromeda on more than one occasion, but the most recent tweets from Bioware’s level designer, reveal some new info regarding the development process of the 3rd-person action RPG.
The next Mass Effect installment is scheduled for a release in the 4rd quarter of 2016, but if Hendrik’s recent tweets are to be believed, he’s now “playing the game like you would if/when you get it”
Mass Effect Andromeda being played in proper context Earlier this weekend, the level designer tweeted that he “showed up at work with a block of time”, just to play Mass Effect Andromeda.

His initial tweet was followed by another, in which Hendriks expressed to be excited about playing Mass Effect in proper context for the very first time.

Prior to his current play session, Hendriks had always played Andromeda based on his own work, without the context of the rest of the game. For the first time, Hendriks seems to have played Andromeda with content created by his team members at Bioware, hence the ‘proper context’. Accordingthe level designer, he had his first “holy shit moment” while playing.

The Dutch level designer ended his series of tweets by saying that he won’t be playing the game for another 3 weeks (https://twitter.com/Sjosz/status/678024479042179072).

Mass Effect Andromeda was officially announced during the E3 of this year. Developer Bioware released a trailer in which the official title for the game was announced.

A new adventure awaits in the Mass Effect universe. With stunning visuals and a new galaxy to discover, BioWare delivers the next generation of space exploration.

Mass Effect Andromeda Sr. Development Director Leaves Bioware

Senior development director on Mass Effect Andromeda, Chris Wynn, has left Bioware, and will be returning to the US.

Wynn joined Bioware as senior development director back in 2013, but he’s now leaving Bioware and Mass Effect behind, to return to the US.
The former development director took to Twitter to announce the news to the Mass Effect community. According Wynn, the Mass Effect Andromeda team is the most talented he has ever worked with. Wynn adds that it’s inspiring to have worked with such a talented team each and every day.

Mass Effect Andromeda may be delayed into 2017 following dev departure (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/49264/mass-effect-andromeda-delayed-2017-following-dev-departure/index.html)

The highly anticipated new Mass Effect game may be delayed following possible internal strife at BioWare.

<iframe width="781" height="469" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uG8V9dRqSsw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

EA's upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/47552/bioware-teases-new-mass-effect-best-largest/index.html) is a fresh start for the franchise, and aims to completely reinvent the renown sci-fi saga for the current age of gaming. Shepard's mythos has been told, and now BioWare is spinning up something new for a targeted release in 2016. Although gamers are generally enthusiastic about the new game, the lack of solid information or visuals has tingled our collective warning bells, and many have suspected the game won't be ready in late 2016.

The possibility of a delay was reinforced by the departure of key BioWare dev talent. Senior Development Director Chris Wynn recently announced that he'll be leaving the Mass Effect: Andromeda team for unspecified reasons. "It is with a heavy heart today to say that I am moving on from BioWare and Mass Effect: Andromeda, and returning to the USA," Wynn wrote on Twitter.

Of course, the loss of a single developer doesn't mean that a big-budget AAA RPG like Mass Effect: Andromeda will indeed be delayed. Nothing has been confirmed at this point, and EA likely will continue to stay mum on details and press materials until major trade show events.

On the flip side, a good portion of 2015's major releases were delayed. Big name modern AAA games usually succumb to the dreaded "pre-order and delay" scheme, which sees a release being delayed after publishers and developers have collected enough pre-order cash. EA will likely continue this tradition with ME: Andromeda.

BioWare has yet to reveal why Wynn departed from the team, or who will step in to fill his role as senior development director, but for now all we can do is guess.

Maybe EA was pushing for Andromeda to go into a direction that Wynn didn't agree with? Perhaps there's some turmoil within the studio? Let's hope that more key talent doesn't jump ship in the meantime, and that BioWare is able to set a pace for the juggernaut space opera without too many delays.

Mass Effect Andromeda Lead Writer Moves To Destiny Dev Bungie

The lead writer on the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda, Chris Schlerf, is leaving Bioware to join Destiny developer, Bungie.

All that said, very happy to be back in Seattle, working with this scrappy little company called Bungie that some of you may have heard of.

Schelf also worked on Halo 4 back in 2012 as senior writer. Chances are high that Schlerf will be working on Destiny 2, which was confirmed to be in the works earlier this week (http://wccftech.com/destiny-receive-large-expansion-year-destiny-2-released-year/).
Activision Publishing, along with its partners at Bungie, expects to bring a large new expansion to Destiny in 2016 and to release a full game sequel in 2017.
In the meanwhile, Destiny fans will have to suffice with a large upcoming expansion for the original Destiny.

Mass Effect Andromeda To Release In 2017; Titanfall 2 & Battlefield 5 Out This Year

Titanfall 2 and the next Battlefield, for now named Battlefield 5, will both be releasing this year, while Mass Effect Andromeda has been delayed to the 1st quarter of 2017.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/maxresdefault-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/maxresdefault.jpg)
EA’s chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen, said as much yesterday during the Media & Telecom Conference (https://cc.talkpoint.com/morg007/022916a_ae/?entity=59_KJEO0TE) at Morgan Stanley Technology. We already heard rumors about EA delaying Andromeda to the companies’ 4th quarter their fiscal year (which ends on March 31, 2017). Both Battlefield 5 and Titanfall 2 will be released in the 3rd quarter of EA’s current fiscal year, implying that both action games will be out between September 30 and December 31.

“We’ve got a great year ahead,” Jorgensen said during the media & telecom conference. “We’ve got our Battlefield first-person shooter game coming in the third quarter, and our third-party title that Respawn, our partner, built. It’s called Titanfall, it’s the second title that they brought into that brand. Both of those are first-person shooters and will be targeted around the fast, action-driven shooter market, as well as the strategy-driven market in that quarter… We have our Mirror’s Edge runner game this first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we’re pretty excited.”

A month ago, EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson already teased (http://wccftech.com/titanfall-2-fantastic-relationship-respawn-extremely-strong-details-months/) that the next Titanfall is looking “fantastic”.
“What I would say, having seen the game, is it’s looking fantastic. Our relationship with Respawn is extremely strong; we have great faith in that entire team to build a spectacular game and are really looking forward to sharing more details in the months ahead”, Wilson said during EA’s earnings call for the 3rd quarter of their fiscal year 2016 (http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ERTS/1424143936x0x872356/7F962E69-55E5-4A23-AB6A-F513DBCAF89D/EA-Transcript-2016-01-28T22_00.pdf).
While not officially confirmed, Battlefield 5 might well be developed by EA Dice’s LA studio (http://wccftech.com/next-battlefield-possibly-includes-co-op-mode-dice-la-hiring/).

Mass Effect: Andromeda protagonist concept art looks amazing (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50831/mass-effect-andromeda-protagonist-concept-art-looks-amazing/index.html)

Or maybe it's not concept art at all, but this render of the protagonist from Mass Effect: Andromeda in ZBrush is quite stunning. In fact, these shots (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?196396-Zbrush-Summit-2015-Artists-Recap/page4) that were posted to ZBrushCentral are modeled by Herbert Lowis from BioWare Montreal could be the real-deal, though they weren't posted by the artist at all.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50831_1_mass-effect-andromeda-protagonist-concept-art-looks-amazing.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50831_1_mass-effect-andromeda-protagonist-concept-art-looks-amazing_full.jpg)
"And our Pathfinder character model at Bioware Montreal... for Mass Effect Andromeda - Modelled By Herbert Lowis."

So just how did they make their way onto that site anyway? No matter how the shots made it to the forum, the models are definitetly the spitting image (with a whole lot more detail) of the hero we saw in the E3 2015 trailer of Mass Effect: Andromeda. It's him alright, and it follows similar design philosophy and style from the Mass Effect universe. And we'll be dammed if they don't look good.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Senior Editor leaves Bioware (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/mass-effect-andromeda-senior-editor-leaves-bioware/)

Bioware has been losing quite a few staff members linked to Mass Effect: Andromeda recently. Over the last couple of months, the game has lost its development director, its lead writer and now, Bioware’s senior editor is leaving the studio and exiting the games industry entirely.
While we don’t know why the development director left, we do know that Mass Effect’s lead writer switched over to Bungie to begin writing for Destiny after wrapping up the story content of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/600x337xMass-Effect-Andromeda-7.jpg.pagespeed.ic.MabxYKrdPF.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-7.jpg)
As for Bioware’s Senior Editor, Cameron Harris, who was also working on the new Mass Effect, she is choosing to exit the games industry entirely to pursue other opportunities. Writing on Twitter (https://twitter.com/camharr?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) she said: “I’ve decided to exit the video-game industry to return to Seattle for new opportunities there. I’ll be leaving BioWare in mid-April. I had a great time at BioWare, working with so many talented, passionate folks. I’m grateful for everything you taught me over the years. I wish all the best for my friends and colleagues at BioWare and across the games industry. You are some of the finest people I know.”
Despite these few key departures, according to EA, Bioware still has Mass Effect 4 on track for a Q1 2017 release, which is pushed back slightly from the previously forecast Q4 2016 release date.

Mass Effect Andromeda Survey Reveals Details, Suggests Colonialism Theme

http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mass-Effect-Andromeda.jpg)
Mass Effect Andromeda might have been delayed to early 2017 (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromeda-release-2017-titanfall-2-battlefield-5-year/), but this doesn’t mean we’re any less excited to learn more about it.
The first chapter of this new adventure in the Mass Effect universe will be based in the Andromeda galaxy rather than the Milky Way, as suggested by the title. A recent survey sent out by Electronic Arts might indicate that colonialism will play a significant part in Mass Effect Andromeda.

Mass Effect: Andromeda Overview Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory – where WE are the aliens – opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us.
Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play as the leader of a squad of military-trained explorers in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customization systems.

This is the story of humanity’s next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda Galaxy.
Description for a possible future version of Mass Effect There is a major battle brewing, and it awaits you. It is unfolding across a galaxy of planets, with creatures and species entirely unknown. Draw your weapon, because the fighter is bigger than you thought. It’s not just for your own life, it’s for all of humanity – the ultimate battle for a place we can all call home.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-Survey-635x1193.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Mass-Effect-Andromeda-Survey.jpg)
Mass Effect Andromeda will use the latest version of Frostbite, of course. There’s a strong likelihood that it will support DirectX 12 too: the engine already supports it (http://wccftech.com/frostbite-supports-dx12-dice-technical-director/), and about a year ago Frostbite’s Technical Director Johan Andersson wished to require Windows 10/DirectX 12 as the minimum specification for Holiday 2016 titles (http://wccftech.com/johan-andersson-frostbite-technical-director-win10-dx12-requirement-holiday-2016-games/).
The official gameplay reveal will likely occur during E3 2016, though Electronic Arts won’t be at the showfloor. They are organizing an EA Play event (http://www.ea.com/play2016/) instead, with the press conference already scheduled for June 12 at 1PM PT/9PM BST. Obviously, we’ll report on all the relevant information from the event about Mass Effect Andromeda.

More Mass Effect: Andromeda Details Leaked?

http://i0.wp.com/www.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/mass-effect-andromeda-leak.png?resize=800%2C450
New details regarding BioWare’s hotly-anticipated action RPG sequel Mass Effect: Andromeda may have leaked online. Screenshots of an EA marketing survey were posted to NeoGAF this week (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1202194), which – while unverified – reveal that the forthcoming game deals with issues of colonialism, and casts humanity as the aliens in an unfamiliar and hostile galaxy.
The survey screenshots read:

“Below is a description for a possible future version of Mass Effect. Please read this and answer some questions on the following pages about this game.
There is a major battle brewing, and it awaits you. In is unfolding across a galaxy of planets, with creatures and species entirely unknown. We’ve been here before, of course: at the turn of 2015, a similar survey leak occurred (http://www.eteknix.com/mass-effect-andromeda-details-leaked/), which revealed that the game’s protagonist would be known as The Pathfinder, and would lead humanity into a previously unexplored area of space. With momentum building behind the game, can we expect BioWare to formally unveil Mass Effect: Andromeda at E3 this Summer?

The leaked footage seems to be an early build from 2014, but shows off several gameplay elements, including the use of a jetpack in order to reach higher grounds. Furthermore, pollen plumes are used to incapacitate a player. Additionally, the footage shows of some in-game effects such as ambient flame bursts, fog elements, rain impacts, impact of meteorite, and FumeFX.
The HUD shown in the footage is in line with the HUD that was teased by the game’s former development director, Chris Wynn (http://wccftech.com/mass-effect-andromeda-sr-development-director-leaves-bioware/), back in November of 2015.

Mass Effect Andromeda was officially announced during the E3 of this year. Developer Bioware released a trailer in which the official title for the game was announced.
” While we aren’t ready to go into too many details just yet, as you saw in the trailer and can tell by the name, this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy. You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with”, said studio manager Aaryn Flynn (http://blog.bioware.com/2015/06/15/introducing-mass-effect-andromeda/), following the announcement trailer.

EA vs Trump: publisher takes down Mass Effect rip off video (http://www.kitguru.net/channel/jon-martindale/ea-vs-trump-publisher-takes-down-mass-effect-rip-off-video/)

It’s not every so often that two entities that aren’t well liked go at each other, but that’s what happened in the past 24 hours, when EA Games filed a copyright claim against a Tweet made by Republican presidential hopeful, Donald Trump. The man had retweeted a fan-made video that shamelessly copied Mass Effect 2 to try and promote Trump’s campaign – the tweet has since been taken down.
The video in question features the Mass Effect trailer soundtrack, with elements of Mass Effect 2’s Martin Sheen/Illusive Man speech peppered in. It then chops in footage of other politicians like Hilary Clinton and President Obama, often in video attempting to disparage.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/650x334xtrumpeffect-1024x525.jpg.pagespeed.ic.lN9aXP9Ny4.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/trumpeffect.jpg)
Although the original video didn’t get much attention when it was posted, when Trump’s official account retweeted it, a lot more people were exposed. This led to people who worked on the original Mass Effect series to come across it themselves, with one describing it as “gross as hell.”

Of course it didn’t take long for EA itself with its mass of resources and heavy handed lawyers to get on the case. The video has since been removed and the retweet from Trump taken down. In a statement given to Game Informer (http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2016/04/04/ea-pulls-fan-made-donald-trump-propaganda-video-using-mass-effect-assets.aspx?utm_content=buffer4fb3b&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer), EA said:
“The video was an unauthorized use of our IP. We do not support our assets being used in political campaigns.”
Although some have argued that this video was fair-use, since it could technically be considered parody or within the realm of creative expression, the use of Mass Effect 2 music is probably what allowed EA to bring it down as swiftly as it did.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will have huge bosses and sexy romance scenes (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/51549/mass-effect-andromeda-huge-bosses-sexy-romance-scenes/index.html)

With Mass Effect: Andromeda (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/47552/bioware-teases-new-mass-effect-best-largest/index.html)'s huge E3 2016 showcase just around the corner, BioWare devs continue to release little hints and teases across social media. The newest batch of teases highlight a new character progression system, titanic boss battles, and sexy romance interactions.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/1/51549_4_mass-effect-andromeda-huge-bosses-sexy-romance-scenes.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/1/51549_4_mass-effect-andromeda-huge-bosses-sexy-romance-scenes_full.jpg)

BioWare is busily tweaking Mass Effect: Andromeda in preparations for its 2017 launch (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50802/mass-effect-andromeda-delayed-early-2017/index.html), and as we all know, it's hard for devs to stay completely tight-lipped about their creations. Ian Frazier (https://twitter.com/tibermoon/status/716044164962590720), the lead designer on Mass Effect: Andromeda, recently took to Twitter to tease some brand new info on the game.

Accord to Frazier, we can expect "very, very large new foes" to fight in ME: Andromeda, probably in the context of a boss battle. What if gamers have to fight huge titanic monstrosities out in space? What if we actually get a huge fleet battle sequence? That'd be quite epic. You'll also be pleased to know that romance scenes are still in (of course they are!), and senior cinematic animator Tal Peleg says the cutscenes will be rather hot and heavy.

In other news, leaked Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay footage revealed a ton of new content including the game's jetpack feature, as well as a few cinematic sequences. The footage is apparently early alpha gameplay, and BioWare is said to have made tremendous progress with its current build.

Backstory
-Around 2185, at the height of galactic progress, unaware of the impending Reaper invasion, several species band together for the "Andromeda Initiative"
-4 Arks, each carrying a different race, are built, housing thousands of individuals to chart a course to Andromeda
-The Heleus Cluster is noted as having a significant amount of "Golden Worlds", or planets ripe for life
-Each ark is led by a "Pathfinder"
-The Pathfinder, recon teams and others onboard are in cryosleep, unaware of what transpires in the Milky Way after they depart
-You play as either Scott or Sara Ryder, the children of Alec Ryder (pathfinder of the human ark)
-Alec Ryder is voiced by Clancy Brown
-Events at the start of the game occur that pass this role down to you, you are untested and unproven, unlike Commander Shepard of the previous trilogy
-This doesn't mean Mass Effect is Ryder's story from now on, they want the game to feel like a complete story (while teasing other stories that could happen)
-More customization options than previous games
-You can customize your father and your sibling, though not as extensively
-The "Nexus" is basically a forward command center staffed by multiple species that arrives in Andromeda early to pave the way for the Arks
-The Hyperion (humanity's ark) arrives at an incorrect location that's volatile and loses contact with the other arks and Nexus

Inspiration
-The (much improved) Mako of ME1, the loyalty missions of ME2, the multiplayer of ME3

Combat
-Global cooldowns are now replaced by individual timers
-Powers are instead hotkeyed for quick use, no longer pausing to bring up a wheel and aim
-Dynamic cover system (ala TLOU)
-Still a cover based shooter with a goal to get the player moving around the battlefield more
-Jetpack allows for more movement variety; you can quick dash instead of rolling
-Jetpack has a hover function that allows you to hit enemies seeking cover or survey your surroundings
-Less emphasis on linear, clearly telegraphed environments that tell you a combat encounter is coming (though linear areas are still in the game)
-Game Informer's hands on was positive, feel the game has a clearer identity in combat than previous games
-You still queue up attacks, combos, order your squad, etc
-All key elements are still intact but the studio wanted to encourage more experimentation and wider variety of abilities

-Class system is gone; instead you have full access to abilities from all classes, you can mix and match skills from tech, soldier or biotics
-Goal is to allow players to try different approaches to combat without being locked in at the start
-However, you can still specialize once you invest enough points into a category of skills, you unlock a profile that can get you bonuses for your particular play style
-This is where class names like "Vanguard" (invest in combat and biotics) and "Adept" (invest in biotics) resurface
-Invest in multiple categories and you unlock the "Explorer" profile
-There is a narrative reason that allows you to reconfigure your points throughout the game so that you can try out multiple gameplay approaches without making multiple characters
-You can customize your helmet, chest, shoulders, arms and legs, more extensive than previous trilogy
-Many familiar weapons return, as well as new melee options like swords and hammers

-The 'Kett' are the main enemy
-The team wanted players to experience the first time encountering a new alien species vs already having it established in prior games
-Rather than painting them as mortal enemies, BioWare wanted to make them feel foreboding but not ugly as they want you to also empathize with them
-Instead of having "linear slices" of planets that you land on, you explore these planets from the surface to their underbelly
-Critical paths, optional planets, major hubs, loyalty missions return
-Your land vehicle is designated the "Nomad", and the team got special guidance from NFS developers on its handling.
-The Nomad isn't sluggish and cumbersome like the Mako, it's very fast, still boosts and maneuvers much better
-The Nomad doesn't have weapons, you can customize things like its speed and appearance
-BioWare did not want to repeat having things like mineral nodes and multiple identical outposts scattered across planets
-Points of interest include combat encounters, puzzles, narrative beats etc on planets
-One planet, called 'Elaaden', is flagged as a possible habitat zone, however the surface is hazardous (no water, extremely hot); you can be pointed in this direction in multiple ways, for example, a Krogan can request the Pathfinder to find a missing colony ship or you can just choose to land on the planet yourself and see what you find
-On planets, one of your priorities is to scout for drop zones for your crew that drop "forward stations" that establishes a foothold for you
-These stations allow for changing up your loadout, fast travel point, etc
-Planets can have multiple dangers like acid pools, burning wreckage, weather etc that can all kill you
-Most planets have at least one major enemy base
-Planets can have areas, encounters and "super bosses" that are too tough for you to handle at first, encouraging players to come back later
-Since Andromeda is a new galaxy, Ryder can actively scan and discover things in the environments; that gets sent back for analysis and unlocks new technologies for the player
-Scanning and discovering these things also allows you to obtain blueprints to craft weapons and armor for yourself
-You can create a wide array of items, not just ammo types and weapon mods, items that haven't been seen before in the Milky Way (thanks to new alien tech)
-Some plot threads and missions lead you across multiple planets

Squadmates
-Peebee: Asari squadmate shown in previous footage. Went off on her own after arriving on the Nexus and described as having a "bubbly personality". She's smart and not concerned with social norms and "niceties".
-Liam: Arrived with the Pathfinder, former police officer and described as having a "light attitude", bringing levity to situations

The Tempest (Your Ship)
-Important to harken back to the Normandy as it was a fan favorite
-There are no loading screens as you move through the ship
-Galaxy map returns but rather than piloting a mini ship on a map, it is more immersive, you select a planet, the game gives you sense of traveling towards that planet, and when you back out, you're immediately at your destination
-You don't pilot the ship manually, but it feels seamless as you go from planet to planet and see them from your bridge getting closer in the window
-They wanted a seamless experience from picking a planet to walking down to your cargo hold, hopping into the Nomad and landing on a planet. There is a landing sequence and you get off the ship. No more loading screens and instantly popping up on the surface of a planet.

Relationships/Characters
-There are more relationships in the game than any other Bioware game (as they noted fans make a big emphasis on romance in the games)
-The squadmate with the least amount of lines in Andromeda has more lines than the squadmate with the most amount of lines in ME3
-Due to complications in the awakening process, your sibling won't join you in combat but you can interact with them and build a relationship
-Many of these dealings are optional, and discovering more about the Ryder family is a plot thread
-BioWare is confident the details of this story are what differentiates it from a traditional "hero's journey"
-Loyalty missions return but they are not critical to the ending of the game; you can complete them after you complete the main story path for example
-Emphasis that relationships don't just culminate in a sex scene, but rather characters can just want to get in the sack, while others are interested in long term relationships and others still aren't interested at all. Bioware wanted to capture more "shooting bottles with Garrus" moments in the game, of which there are plenty

Multiplayer
-More evolved and refined form of ME3
-Card based economy where you earn XP and credits
-There are microtransactions but no real world money is required, you can unlock normally
-You still set the map, enemy, as before but you can also activate modifiers that can give you decreased health (for greater reward) or more damage (less reward)
-Bioware also plans to release custom crafted missions with unique modifiers that players can't change themselves
-These custom missions give you a 3rd currency, "mission funds" which allow you directly purchase items and weapons vs the mercy of random card packs; however these items are only available for a limited time in the store and can change often
-In MP, you play as the "Apex Force", a militia strike team from the Nexus
-Different enemies require you to use different tactics (some are shield heavy, some use heavy biotics etc)
-Playing MP will have advantages for the single player but it absolutely does not affect the ending of the game
-New "Prestige" mechanic added: With several types of characters, you earn regular XP and prestige XP. The prestige XP goes into every character of that 'type', for example 'tanky' characters. Earning enough prestige can grant you added health for all tank characters, etc.

Choices
-No more Paragon/Renegade system
-They want more nuance and subtlety and giving the player more opportunity to express themselves
-You can agree or disagree with someone without being punished or cornered into a paragon or renegade choice
-Dialogue option tones: heart, head, professional and casual.
-These don't affect you or sway a meter one way or another, rather they allow you freedom without worrying about unintended consequences
-"Narrative actions" (previously "interrupts) return but rather than giving a "red"=bad or "blue"=good choice, it can say "shoot", leaving more ambiguity to your choice

Boas!

Excelente lore mesmo...

-The Hyperion (humanity's ark) arrives at an incorrect location that's volatile and loses contact with the other arks and Nexus

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFZrzg62Zj0

- "Actions you take might have consequences later on"... lool

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4fygWLjszA

Eu acabei recentemente o ME:A, e posso dizer que gostei do jogo...
