Call of Duty: World at War II rumored to be unveiled in May

It looks like Activision is preparing for the unveiling of the next entry into the Call of Duty franchise with Call of Duty: World at War II. The publisher will reportedly unveil the new game on May 4 according to an alleged promotional poster for the gmae.

While Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare took gamers into the future with some next-gen weapons, exosuits and more, World at War II will bring things back to reality, and history. Anonymous Protection leaked out the reveal date, which is May 4 at 10AM PDT/1PM EDT. It makes sense, as Activision unveiled the first look at Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on May 1 last year (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/37471/call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-announced-stars-kevin-spacey/index.html).

Treyarch will likely be the studio behind the development of the game, handing off the yearly Call of Duty game torch from Sledgehammer.

WWII is back, bitch! ;-\

COD: World at War II rumor could be false, Black Ops III instead? (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/43141/cod-world-war-ii-rumor-false-black-ops-iii-instead/index.html)

We only just reported on the first rumor of Call of Duty: World at War II (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/43112/call-duty-world-war-ii-rumored-unveiled/index.html), but it looks like this could be wrong. Instead, Activision will reportedly announce Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Whichever one gets announced, we know a new COD is on the way.
http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/3/43141_02_cod-world-war-ii-rumor-false-black-ops-iii-instead.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/3/43141_02_cod-world-war-ii-rumor-false-black-ops-iii-instead_full.jpg)

When the news first broke, we were teased that Activision would reveal a new Call of Duty title on May 4. Soon after this happened, Xbox Canada's Community Manager, Ray Patel, tweeted a teaser image which had a hidden message inside. When translated, it matched up with what the leaked poster had to say about the May 4 reveal. Industry insider "shinobi602" has now chimed in, tweeting: "This should be real entertaining since it's not happening," adding "More info regarding Call of Duty: World at War 2 coming soon".

This is where it gets confusing, as shinobi602 replied to a fans tweet, where he said: "Bookmark this reply. Come May, and watch when World at War 2 doesn't happen". After that, he replied to a tweet that asked which era the new Call of Duty would be based in, to which he replied "Just remember what Treyarch's big games are". Something that could hint toward Black Ops III. It's all a big whirlwind of mess right now, but I'm sure the picture will become much clearer in the coming months.

Activision announces Treyarch is developing the next Call of Duty

It's a new year, so a new Call of Duty is on its way for the annualized first-person shooter franchise, with Activision announcing that Treyarch will be developing the 2015 version of Call of Duty.

We're expecting it to be announced in May (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/43112/call-duty-world-war-ii-rumored-unveiled/index.html), but nothing has been confirmed yet. During Activision Publishing's earnings call, company CEO Eric Hirshberg said: "This fall's game will be Treyarch's first on the three-year development cycle. It will be loaded with innovation, and we're excited to share more details with our community soon".

Call of Duty 2015 in development at Treyarch

There’s no doubt that the new Call of Duty will be one of the year’s biggest releases. Each iteration brings huge sales for Activision and this year, will probably not going to be any different. Last year’s, Advanced Warfare, was a step-up from the previous few installments in the franchise and it was quite well regarded.
“This fall’s game will be Treyarch’s first on the three-year development cycle,” Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said during an earnings call on Thursday (via Polygon (http://www.polygon.com/2015/2/5/7989027/call-duty-2015)). “It will be loaded with innovation, and we’re excited to share more details with our community soon.”

Treyarch’s previous series entries include Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The Black Ops games “remain the biggest-selling titles in franchise history”, according to Hirshberg. Treyarch is also the creator of the series’ popular Zombies mode.Hirshberg announced last February that the Call of Duty series was moving from a two-year to a three-year development cycle in a bid to improve quality.
Hirshberg announced last February that the Call of Duty series was moving from a two-year to a three-year development cycle in a bid to improve quality. Lets hope that this increase of the development cycle bears fruit and we get a truly worthy gaming experience that could prove innovative enough to rekindle new life into the long running series. Personally I would love a return to the WWII setting as well as some more strategic and focused gameplay for the single player campaign.
A reveal of the game will definitely come at E3 later on this year, if not sooner.

Call of Duty 2015 Will be Different than Older Games

Activision announced that they would be releasing a Treyarch developed Call of Duty game this year. Treyarch has created the Black Ops series, and rumors suggest that a new Black Ops title is in development.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-logo.jpg (http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/call-of-duty-black-ops-logo.jpg)
Seeing as Activision usually reveals their new Call of Duty title around May, an announcement is likely to be coming soon. Industry insider Shinobi602, released two new tweets regarding the new iteration in the Call of Duty franchise. He mentioned that the new title will not be like previous games, and in response as to whether ex-suits will be making a return, he replied that “Movement will be a little different than Advanced Warfare”

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Has the Next COD been Leaked?

During the last few months, there has been a continuous flow of information coming out regarding the next Call of Duty game. Treyarch, the developer behind this year’s iteration, has been very quiet so far and an official reveal is expected next month. There has been one common belief though, that the next game will be quite different from previous games, with a futuristic feel.

Tmartn (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmvC_F5Xuqc), posted a video that can be viewed below that contains the following list of rumors with everything that has been leaked so far:

Next-gen only (different source)
campaign looks gorgeous, better than Advanced Warfare
campaign to be open-world but still linear
“Jetpacks and/or Exos”
Switch to different characters in singleplayer (like GTAV)
Exo-suits will have a wall running ability
Zombies to have stand alone map packs, Raven to assist
Custom map editor for private lobbies only and ability to share
Pick 13 returning but no upgradable scorestreaks
Dynamic weather and elements on all maps this time
Raid and Nuketown remakes

The only certain thing about the next Call of Duty is that it will be called Black Ops III, and that it will have a futuristic focus. As we have previously reported (http://wccftech.com/call-duty-2015-older-games/), industry insider Shinobi602 tweeted that the next Call of Duty won’t be like other games, and that movement will be a little different from Advanced Warfare.

A futuristic open world Call of Duty with a beautiful Sci-Fi setting? I think that would be awesome, bring on Black Ops III While most of these rumors and leaks point to the next Call of Duty featuring a futuristic setting, we won’t know for certain until the official reveal next month. I have to admit though, that a sci-fi take on the Call of Duty formula will not be bad. Advanced Warfare already featured some technological advances with its exo suits, but a full-blown futuristic setting, with sci-fi cities and locales seems quite exciting.
Regarding the campaign being open-world with a linear progression is not half bad either, and the option to change between characters, as in GTA V, is interesting. Black Ops, has been a favorite between Call of Duty fans, so I would expect the latest iteration to be well received regardless of its setting or timeline.
We will bring you any news on the next Call of Duty game, as soon as it becomes available. According to the leaks Call of Duty Black Ops III, will release only for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC during the Holiday season.
