Xbox One to get Neverwinter MMO next month (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/xbox-one-to-get-neverwinter-mmo-next-month/)

MMO titles have never really been that big on console but with the success of Final Fantasy XIV on the PS4 and the buzz around The Elder Scrolls Online hitting the current generation of systems along with the rise of free to play, things are starting to change.
The latest MMO coming to console is Neverwinter, a free to play title coming to the Xbox One. It has been developed by Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios, who announced that the game will be launching on Microsoft’s platform on the 31st of March.

There was a closed beta for the game last month. Neverwinter has been available on the PC for some time so there is plenty of content to sink in to for those on Xbox One. The console will be getting the base game as well as the Tyranny of Dragons and Scourge Warlock expansion packs.
You will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play, something that long-term Xbox owners should be used to by now when it comes to multiplayer titles. Neverwinter originally launched on the PC back in 2013 and is based on the Dungeons and Dragons universe.

Never Say Never to Neverwinter on PS4 – Will Be Releaed In The Future

Neverwinter, the Dungeon’s & Dragon’s MMO for Xbox One and PC, just might be coming to the PS4 in the future, though no date or details have been promised yet.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Cryptic-Neverwinter-Will-Also-Add-Druids-in-the-Near-Future-395478-2-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Cryptic-Neverwinter-Will-Also-Add-Druids-in-the-Near-Future-395478-2.jpg)
Neverwinter for PS4 has been confirmed during a Wizards of the Coast live-stream. Trevor Kidd, the associate brand manager at Wizards of the Coast disclosed during the live-stream (http://www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd/v/7185697) that there are definite plans for a PS4 release of Neverwinter to round out the platforms that it’s available on.
The free-to-play MMO has been available on PC since 2013, the Xbox One since this past March though the plans to expand the reach have always been secret. That is, until now. No actual details were released other than the fact that they are pursuing having Neverwinter grace the PS4 at some point.

MMO’s aren’t necessarily a console’s forte, though they do have the ability to be successful if control schemes are done properly. The Elder Scroll’s Online itself has seen more popularity than expected, causing servers to buckle (http://wccftech.com/elder-scrolls-online-servers-fail-load-console-release/) under the pressure of increased populations.
Currently Neverwinter enjoys around (http://2.3%20million%20characters%20created%20with%20over %2092,000%20reaching%20the%20level%2060%20cap%2086 %20million%20minutes%20of%20Neverwinter%20played%2 016%20billion%20Astral%20Diamonds%20earned%2010%20 million%20parties%20formed%20Over%201%20billion%20 enemies%20slain%20including%20Undead,%20Orcs,%20an d%20Bandits%2092%20players%20have%20killed%20over% 201,000%20dragons) 1.6 million active players on the Xbox One alone. This makes it one of the most popular MMORPG’s on console today.
Three short months after launch, players had achieved quite a bit of game time, and the following highlights were released by Cryptic Studio and Perfect World, showing just how enjoyable it possibly can be.

2.3 million characters created with over 92,000 reaching the level 60 cap
86 million minutes of Neverwinter played
16 billion Astral Diamonds earned
10 million parties formed
Over 1 billion enemies slain including Undead, Orcs, and Bandits
92 players have killed over 1,000 dragons

Update for Neverwinter on Xbox One in September Has Four Expansions in Tow

Neverwinter, the Dungeons & Dragons based MMO is going to get an absolute massive update (http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/xbox/neverwinter/news/detail/9486263-neverwinter%3A-elemental-evil-coming-to-xbox-one-in-september%21) come this September. More content than you could ever want, with the majority of four expansion packs becoming accessible.

Neverwinter: Elemental Evil is coming to Xbox One this September, with more content than you can pack into one lifetime. The Xbox One has lagged behind by just a smidgen. Elemental Evil has been available on the PC for since April 7th, but now ArcGames is adding essence of four of their other previous updates into one very extensive update for Neverwinter.
Within you’ll find Fury of the Feywild, Shadowmantle, Curse of Icewind Dale and naturally Elemental Evil. And with the new content means new zones to explore with your character and far harder enemies to take on.

This most sizable of expansions should be free to all players, and adds a host of other great features as well:

Level cap increase from 60 to 70
Oathbound Paladin playable class
Eight new adventure zones
Icewind Dale
Sharandar
The Dread Ring
Malabog’s Castle, Valindra’s Tower and Kessell’s Retreat.
Minsc & Boo join adventurers in the fight against the Cults of Elemental Evil
Increase in companion quality cap from epic to legendary
Maximum level increase for all professions
Vote-to-kick changes
Achievements fixed

Neverwinter isn’t exactly the most prosperous of MMO’s, but it still does enjoy a passionate yet cozy following. On Steam alone there are an average of 2,333.7 players online, with peaks and troughs during the usual times.
If you were on the fence about this, it’s free, so why not take a look at what ArcGames has done to revive the Neverwinter franchise. It’s even rather controller friendly.
