Good looking curved glass, no specs yet
ZTE is gearing up to take on Huawei, Xiaomi and Meizu in the high-end space, and its upcoming flagship phone certainly has the looks to pull it off.

The Nubia Z9 was leaked at MWC, but only in a few relatively poor photos. Leaksfly (https://twitter.com/leaksfly) has now tweeted a few new images, and we must say we like what we are seeing.

The phone features tiny bezels and 2.5D curved glass. The antenna slots on the sides indicate that this is an all-metal design, with wasn’t the case with previous ZTE Nubias.

ZTE has high-end aspirations, no doubt about that, but the company is also one of few Chinese phonemakers to lose market share last year. In terms of unit shipments in China, ZTE used to enjoy a comfortable second place, behind Huawei. However, last year it was overtaken by Xiaomi.
ZTE’s Nubia products are usually reserved for Asian markets. However, the company is looking to expand its global presence, and the Nubia Z9 series may have what it takes.
The biggest problem with Nubias, aside from the fact that western consumers can’t get one, is the UI. Reviewers have been critical of ZTE’s skins for years, so we can only hope that the company will sort out a few quirks on new Android 5.0 devices.

More ZTE Nubia Z9 pictures leak

Tiny bezels, all-metal build
ZTE may be about to surprise the market with a very sleek flagship phone, with extremely thin bezels.

The Nubia Z9 was already leaked in a few photos (http://fudzilla.com/news/mobile/37233-bezel-free-zte-nubia-z9-leaks-again), but now we have a few more courtesy of Leaksfly. The new ones show an all-metal phone with a relatively thin design and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone looks almost as thin as the iPhone 6, but it’s a bit bigger owing to its more spacious screen. It appears that this is the Max version, with a 5.5-inch panel. The kicker is the slim bezel design, which allows the company to build a somewhat more compact device. There is no symmetry, either, so the top is much smaller than the bottom, which houses three soft keys.
http://www.fudzilla.com/images/stories/2015/March/zte-nubia-z9-2.jpg
Under the bonnet, the Z9 is expected to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810, but there is a catch. ZTE usually designs three different Z-series flagships, in three form factors – standard, mini and max, which is essentially a phablet.
The new ZTE Nubia Z9 is expected to launch be the end of the month. It’s unclear whether or not ZTE will market it in Europe and the US, but the phone appears to tick all the right boxes – it’s got the looks and the hardware to be a success. Hopefully ZTE will not mess up on the software front, but the good news is that it’s shipping with Android 5.0, so we can only hope ZTE used the opportunity to tweak its Android skin.

ZTE Nubia Z9 is official in Max and Mini flavours

http://www.fudzilla.com/media/k2/items/cache/8a77f4f473b8dc3bc4abbf77ab47af6c_L.jpg (http://www.fudzilla.com/media/k2/items/cache/8a77f4f473b8dc3bc4abbf77ab47af6c_XL.jpg)

Aluminium build, Snapdragon 810 in flagship model
ZTE is introducing the new Nubia Z9 flagship today and so far we like what we are seeing.

ZTE lost a lot of ground to Xiaomi, Huawei and Meizu over the past year or so, hence the Nubia Z9 is a rather important device for the Chinese company.
Luckily, it seems to tick all the right boxes for an alternative flagship - good value, decent specs and premium looks.
Nubia Z9 Max spec The Nubia Z9 Max features a 5.5-inch 1080p display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC and sports 3GB of speedy LPDDR4 RAM, along with 16GB of storage, expandable via a microSD slot.
The phone sports an aluminium body, 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, front camera with an 8-megapixel sensor, NFC, FDD LTE and TD LTE, along with Bluetooth 4.0 and MHL 3.0. It also has a 2900mAh battery.
The launch price is 2,499 CNY, which is about 360 EUR at press time, or 330 USD.
The Nubia Z9 Mini isn’t really "mini" The Mini model comes with a smaller 5-inch 1080p display and the same cameras. However, it lacks the powerful 20nm SoC of its bigger sibling. The Nubia Z9 Mini is a mid-range affair, so it ships with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, backed by 2GB of RAM (mot LPDDR4). The phone also supports two LTE standards.
However, the price is what makes the Mini really interesting. It’s launching at 1,499 CNY, or about 218 EUR at press time. Basically this is a 250 USD phone with mid-range specs and a premium build, which doesn’t sound bad at all.
Both phones ship with Android 5.0, with Nubia UI 2.8 on top. The latter is our only concern, as ZTE’s previous Android skins weren’t that good. The new Nubias will be available in black and white colour options, with silver or gold aluminium trim.
Since this is an ongoing event, we have no proper press pics, but you can check out MyDrivers (http://news.mydrivers.com/1/406/406074.htm) for live coverage - but remember to bring a translator.

ZTE’s Nubia Z9 Is Equipped With An Octa-Core 3.5 GHz Processor And 8 GB Of RAM According To TENAA

ZTE is another Chinese smartphone firm known for aggressively pricing its flagship devices while stuffing it with ‘top of the line’ hardware specifications. On May 6, 2015, the company will be unveiling its flagship smartphone, named Nubia Z9. While everyone must be confident that the handset will be running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC (seeing as how flagship smartphones other than Samsung’s are being assimilated with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset), TENAA (http://shouji.tenaa.com.cn/mobile/MobileDetail.aspx?code=j8hnmTvUEWn%2boWLDuQrJTaKlD EdP4OhJ) (the Chinese version of FCC) has another tale to tell. According to the information posted on the website, Nubia Z9 is packing an octa-core processor running at a slobber-knocker processing speed of 3.5 GHz, and 8 GB of RAM. While the website did not list which chipset would be running inside the device, those specifications are just too good to be true.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/459074-zte-nubia-z9-max-635x358.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/459074-zte-nubia-z9-max.jpg)
Nubia Z9’s Impressive Hardware Specifications Are A Bit Hard To Fathom TENAA has listed the smartphone as Nubia NX508J. In addition to being armed to the teeth with impressive hardware specs, the device is also expected to be bezelless, and will feature a near 2.5D curved glass that extends to the sides of the device. While the screen is not as similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge (http://wccftech.com/galaxy-s6-edge-tips/), users will still be able to execute a variety of functions through gestures. Additionally, there is also a circular home button, which might give away details that Nubia Z9 also features a fingerprint scanner.

While all of these are expected to augment the overall smartphone experience for the user, the thought of ZTE’s upcoming flagship offering possessing one of the fastest hardware specs in a mobile computing device is a bit hard to swallow. It could very well be an error executed by TENAA, but whatever the case might be, we are really excited to see what May 6, 2015 has in store for us.

While we do not have repeat this, the fastest chipset in existence happens to be none other than Samsung’s Exynos 7420, followed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 (http://wccftech.com/lg-g4-benchmark-snapdragon-808-vs-snapdragon-810/) (which exceeds the thermal limits mind you). May be Nubia Z9 will outpace Samsung’s flagship duo once and for all.

Bezelless ZTE Nubia Z9 Launched; 4 GB RAM Model Starts From $645

Earlier, TENAA had reported that ZTE’s Nubia Z9, which was given the model name Nubia NX508J (http://wccftech.com/ztes-nubia-z9-equipped-octacore-35-ghz-processor-8-gb-ram-tenaa/) featured ‘out of this world’ hardware specifications; an octa-core processor running at a clock speed of 3.5 GHz per core and a whopping 8 GB of RAM. No doubt, it was an error TENAA’s part, and now the actual hardware specifications of the company’s flagship handset are far more believable than the previous ones. As much as we were trying not to admit, we were certain that Nubia Z9’s chipset was none other than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810. However, what we did not expect that ZTE would be launching its flagship offering in three different models.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61e2a77cjw1erutkh0f74j218g0xcqc7-635x476.jpg (http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61e2a77cjw1erutkh0f74j218g0xcqc7.jpg)

Nubia Z9 Starts From $565 USD, Features 3 GB Of RAM And 32 GB Of On-Board Memory As Base-Line Specifications ZTE has released its Nubia Z9 in three model variants, and all of them feature a 5.2 inch 2.5D screen size rendering the 1080p resolution. Details of these models have been given below:
http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/asdasdadadad-635x95.png (http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/asdasdadadad.png)
Apart from the difference in the amount of RAM and internal memory, all versions of Nubia Z9 feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 SoC. ZTE has not confirmed if it the same chipset running in Xiaomi’s Mi Note Pro, since that particular revision is able to obtain a far better score in AnTuTu’s benchmarking result (http://wccftech.com/xiaomi-snadragon-810-benches-mi-note-pro-show-good/) than the one present in HTC’s One M9 while keeping its thermals in check. It is possible that Qualcomm might have made amends by responsibly alleviating the overheating issues. However, until actual benchmarking reports are not published of all three models, it is hard to give a verdict blindly.
http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61e2a77cjw1erutkfb48lj218g0xcahk-635x476.jpg (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/61e2a77cjw1erutkfb48lj218g0xcahk.jpg)
The most disappointing component from the entire handset was its battery. All three models are equipped with a 2,900 mAh, which is exceedingly low for a flagship handset and extremely small to provide sufficient battery against a power hungry quad-core Cortex-A57 CPU present inside Snapdragon 810. However, the remainder of the specifications are quite impressive, as they include the following:

Bluetooth 4.1
MHL 3.0
NFC

All three versions feature an 8 MP front camera with a Sony sensor delivering the 80 degree wide range image capturing functionality. The high resolution 16 MP rear shooter features F2.0 aperture and an OIS chip. Audiophiles will thoroughly enjoy their Nubia Z9 purchase because the flagship lineup features NeoSound 4.0 and an AKM4961 Hi-Fi processor along with support for Dolby 7.1 surround. However, the most interesting feature happens to be Nubia Z9’s FIT interactive frame. The front side of the chassis is highly sensitive to touch and will react to specific gesture controls. Given below is a list of GIFs detailing the functionality of the interactive frame:

Turning on/off the screen While ZTE’s flagship offering does present something out of the ordinary when gesture controls are concerned, does it warrant the exorbitant price tag? Definitely not.

Nubia releases its Z9 borderless smartphone

Chinese based smartphone manufacturer Nubia has released its 2015 flagship device in a recently issued press release - the borderless Nubia Z9.

<iframe width="781" height="469" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3zmA9qjBqjM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Based on Android, this phone offers a 16 MP camera with image stabilization, fingerprint sensor technology and a release date of Q3 2015 in the United States. Said to be priced between $564 - $725 on release, this phone certainly looks promising.

The boarderless design includes a 5.2-inch full HD screen and Refractive Conduction Technology in order to provide what it claims is "more dazzling visual effects than any other smartphone of similar size."

Grip and gesture controls are also included, featuring the ability to complete tasks such as camera app launching by turning the phone sideways and playing four fingers on the edge of the screen as you grip it ready for a shot or you can take a selfie simply by squeezing the phone with one hand.

As for the internals, the classic edition comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage for $564, the Elite with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for $645 and the Exclusive model simply adds fingerprint sensor technology and will set users back $725.
