Rainbow Six: Siege – First Details & Leaked Screenshots + Gameplay Video From Alpha Build (http://www.dsogaming.com/news/rainbow-six-siege-first-details-leaked-screenshots-gameplay-video-from-alpha-build/)

Version of the Closed Alpha is 0.1.0

The air-plane map, named “Plane”, has the following (named) zones: Seating Journalist, Bathroom, Exterior, Cargo, Cargo Entrance, First Aid, Cargo Room A, Cargo Room B, Military Seating, Stairs Cockpit, Kitchen Prep, Seating Staff,

The plane map has the following CAMs in “Support Mode” (after one’s death): Luggage Hold, Cabin Staff, Main Corridor, (plus atleast 2 more)

The designated names of different areas (above) will be helpful in planning out a round and in voice-comms

The map is huge! The plane is also very huge with detailed in-door environments (with fantastic lighting), multiple floors etc.

CTUs: GIGN (atleast 3 CTUs will be in the closed-alpha)

Primary Weapons: MP5 MLI (stock color in closed-alpha is golden), P90, 591A1, FAMAS G2, K33 NATO, G36C,

Secondary Weapons: NP-9, Model 586, MAC11, 226 MK25, M45 MEUSOC,

Gadgets: Barbed Wire (hurts and slows down attackers), Sledgehammer (a breaching hammer to breach through destructible surfaces), Deployable Shield (crouch-height cover that blocks all weapon damage), Breach Charge, Stun Grenade, EMP Grenade (disables any electronics in range), Shock-Drone (disables traps and also shocks enemies), Frag, Bonfire Launcher,

Defenders / Attackers Types: Recruit (can be picked by more than one player and has the most customization options), Thatcher (Attacker – UK flag on his arm), Twitch (Attacker – WIP, plus a GIGN tag on his arm), Sledge (Attacker), Ash (Attacker – probably the female operator),(a total of 11 types are available, recruit is common to both Attacker and Defenders, plus 5 unique types for both Attacker / Defender, each)

Moreover, each kit has a specific icon

Each Defender / Attacker / CTU type has a specific “bonus” ability: Recruit (Croix Rogue – Improved revive ability), Thatcher (Gas Mask – Damage received from smoke is reduced and also no coughing will happen)

Knifing is confirmed!

Grenade explosion has a deafening effect that lasts around 5 seconds or so

Scoring Points: Barricading: +5, Injure: +50, Injure Assist: +50, Confirm Kill: +50, Kill Assist: +75, Kill: +100, Headshot: +50, Gadget Destroyed: +10,

Barricading can be destroyed by team-mates

When injured, you can move/crawl to get to safety

The voice-overs in the video were in English, but the accent was French

The animation for climbing up ladders is not yet properly implemented, as it can been in the screenshot that there’s a gap between the player and ladder

When hit, your screen gets zoom-blurred for a moment

When an enemy player notices and shoots at you, you can see the white hit-direction-indicators on-screen

This area shows the health of your player, and probably body-armor type/ status. The shirt icon probably shows that the player isn’t wearing any armour

Magazine Reloading: If you have ammo 1/269 and you reload, you get to 31/239 (for the MP5 MLI). Moreover, the reload animation restarts if interrupted by another action

DEATH REPLAY (aka 1st-person Kill-Cam) of around 7 seconds is shown after one’s death, which can also be “skipped”

Additionally, there’s an END OF ROUND REPLAY as well

A decisive round shows “MATCH POINT” on the top of timer-clock

DAMAGE LOG (top-right) indicating the damage done by your killer is shown in the DEATH REPLAY screen

End-of-Round screen shows ROUND GRAPH (time-line of kills etc.) and ROUND REPORT (scores, K/D, etc.)

Some of the stuff shows WIP (work in progress). The textures also read “ALPHA” at some places on the map.

Rainbow Six Siege in October? Mayhaps

Like so many other inventory and database blunders by the wonderful Gamestop, it appears that Gamestop (https://www.gamestop.it/PS4/Games/36803/tom-clancys-rainbox-six-siege)Italia may have spilled the beans as to the release date for one of the most anticipated tactical shooters in a long time, Rainbow Six Siege.
http://cdn3.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rainbshot-635x420.jpg (http://cdn2.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rainbshot.jpg)
Gamestop Italy may have revealed either a the real date, or a placeholder for what they think is the release date, of Rainbow Six Siege. October 16th 2015. Of course, it’s not uncommon for the Gamstop franchise to simply have a placeholder with an arbitrary date assigned to it. But it would certainly be quite nice if Rainbow Six Siege were to make its way out to us by then. But perhaps it’s the actual date they were given?
Supposedly, too, the covers used are not just amalgamation of photos found elsewhere on the Internet or the placeholder you can find on Amazon and even Newegg, but represents the actual official cover photo.
When looking at the date, October 16th, this is a Friday and apparently is quite the significant Friday in Europe according to tmag.it (http://www.tmag.it/2015/03/25/rainbow-six-siege-out-october-16-according-to-gamestop-official-cover-unveiled/). They say that many important releases have happened around that particular Friday of the month. But I can’t find any evidence supporting their claims. October see’s no more releases than any other month, in any country.

That second Friday seems to simply be an arbitrary day that was chosen based on when Gamestop thinks that it’ll be released given the already public information. It’s a guess and a placeholder. Furthermore, game are released when they are done more often then specific days are chosen such as with movies. Announcements of development, however, are indeed based around the major gaming and tech events, but not releases. Release dates are arbitrarily chosen based on the actual development.
That being said, All months and even days of the week seem to be used to release games, in North America and in Europe. That Friday holds no real significance, though it is indeed closer to that holiday season.
But that doesn’t mean that I don’t want Rainbow Six Siege in October. I’d gladly take to the destructive environments and help myself to some tactical thinking shooter fun. It would be a glorious experience to spend my rainy October days inside with such a game. But that may or may not happen. We have n more information than we did before. Except that perhaps now we want Rainbow Six Siege a bit more than usual.
So no, there is no reason to actually believe that Rainbow Six Siege is going to be released in October. But we can all hope, though.

Rainbow Six Siege – Meet The Operators

Rainbow SiX Siege was announced at E3 2014, during which we were only able to see six placeholder Operators – three Attackers and three Defenders. Ubisoft Montreal demonstrated ten new and improved Operators at a recent preview event, and promise to ship ten more with the final game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4hd3X3Mesy8

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aU3xLSXX8m4

Game Designer Andrew Witts detailed the new Operators.

OPERATOR DRILLDOWN ATTACKERS
Sledge – British SAS – Sledge is the perfect Operator for the player who just wants to take care of business and doesn’t care if he or she makes some noise while doing it. Armed with a heavy-duty breaching hammer, Sledge is capable of destroying surfaces like walls, floors and barricades with speed and no small amount of force.
Thermite – American FBI SWAT – Like Sledge, Thermite doesn’t mind bringing the ruckus when it comes to getting a job done. His powerful thermite breach charges are capable of eating through the ultra-strong reinforced walls like they’re made of cotton candy.
Ash – American FBI SWAT – Ash is perfect for players who favor distance over up-close-and-personal combat. She can fire a long-distance breach charge, making her a handy Operator to have if you are down to only a couple of teammates. Rainbow Six Siege
Thatcher – British SAS – Armed with special EMP grenades, Thatcher can knock out all electronics in range for a short period of time. Use Thatcher to help your team get the upper hand against Defenders like Pulse, whose heartbeat monitor lets him track people through walls.
Twitch – French GIGN – Surveillance is key Rainbow Six Siege, and with Twitch, your surveillance can do some damage. Twitch has a handy little drone that can deliver electric shocks, dealing minor damage and disabling traps. She’s the perfect Operator for people who like to look before they leap.
DEFENDERS
Castle – American FBI SWAT – Once everyone has spent their wall reinforcements, they will look to Castle and his durable Kevlar barricades. These can be placed in windows and doorways and take about 12 melee hits to bring down (as opposed to the average barricade’s 3 hits). Sledge can knock it down in 2 hits with his hammer, but the noise he makes will be more than enough warning for the Defenders behind Castle’s walls.

Smoke – British SAS – Smoke is the silent killer. He can deploy and remotely detonate a chemical gas charge that deals damage to everyone in range of the smoke. Dropping a charge near a potential breach point ensures you’ve got an extra line of defense should Attackers make it through. Hit them with the gas and let the bullets fly.
Pulse – American FBI SWAT – We’ve all wondered what it would be like to be able to see through walls. With Pulse’s heartbeat monitor you can do just that. Track your opponents’ heartbeats and determine their locations to help your team prep for attack. As this is still the Alpha build, the dev team admits this device is currently a bit too strong and they are working on ways to adjust it. “We already know Pulse’s heartbeat monitor is a little over-powered, so that’s something we’re aware of and will be fixing,” says Witts. “This is the time for us to look at it and ask, How is it over-powered? Is it because you’re allowed to use it for too long? Is it because of the range? What can we do to perfect it?”
Rook – French GIGN – Nobody wants to go into battle naked (or no one sane does, anyway). Rook ensures his teammates go into the fight with some extra armor that might mean the difference between living to finish the round and going out in the first 30 seconds. If you choose to play as Rook, I recommend dropping his box of armor in a central area during the prep phase so your team can start out the round with some extra protective covering.
Mute – British SAS – Like Thatcher, Mute can knock out all electronics, but unlike Thatcher’s grenades, Mute operates a special jamming device that remains active until it’s destroyed. “Mute’s class is kind of a protector,” says Witts. “He places his jammer in a certain spot and can protect that specific area from breach charges or drones. So if you go to breach a wall and try to remotely detonate your breach charge, his jammer might prevent you from doing that. You’ll either have to eliminate the jammer in that area or you can place a new breach charge somewhere else.”
In addition to these 10 Operators, each side also has access to the Recruit, who is more of a blank slate character and can be assigned any of the 5 CTU backgrounds. “The Recruit Operator is an extra lever for players to use and kind of perfect their strategy for that round,” Witts explains. Let’s say what we really need for one round is a lot of tactical grenades – a lot of smoke and a lot of flash. The game allows you to do that by grabbing the Recruit Operator. The Recruit has more customization in terms of generic gadgets, but he has no unique gadgets.” A strong team is one that knows how and when to take advantage of the Recruit.
Though only ten Operators have been shown this far, there will be 20 unique Operators (plus the Recruit) in the final game. And the ten in that list still have room for adjustments, as Witts tells us. “We’re at 70% quality and that includes gameplay and everything else. This final 30% is what we’re trying to gain in terms of honing everything as we show it and let people play it. Tweaking the Operators is also part of that 30%. Visual quality will grow as well once all those mechanics are finalized and the parameters are set.”

Rainbow Six Siege is expected to be released Fall 2015m for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege – Collector’s Edition Details

Yesterday Ubisoft released a new gameplay trailer (http://wccftech.com/tom-clancys-rainbow-six-siege-gameplay/) featuring many of the game’s playable Operators (characters,) as well as details about 10 of the new Operators (http://wccftech.com/rainbow-siege-meet-operators/). Finally Ubisoft has also revealed that Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will receive a Collector’s Edition, aptly named “Art of Siege Edition“.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Tom-Clancys-Rainbow-Six-Siege-Collectors-Edition-635x370.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Tom-Clancys-Rainbow-Six-Siege-Collectors-Edition.jpg)
Rainbow Six Siege – Art of Siege Edition Comes With A 120 Page Tactical Guide A Collector’s Edition named Art of Siege Edition is available for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. It includes the full game, a collector’s box, a Gold Skins Pack for all in-game weapons and an exclusive 120 page Tactical Guide.

This high quality guide includes every single key element of the game – detailing each Counter Terrorist Unit, Operators, weapons, and maps with the highest level of detail and statistics. All this content has been created with developer team and core gamers’ advice, giving you the most effective results in the field.
So what you see in the above image is what you get with the Collector’s Edition.

A copy of the game
Collector’s box
An exclusive 120 page tactical guide – which includes information “on every Counter Terrorist Unit, operator, weapon, and map with the highest detail and statistics.”
Gold weapons skins – a DLC with Gold skins for all of the in-game weapons.

If you pre-order the Art of Siege Edition, or just the regular version of Rainbow Six Siege, you will receive guaranteed access to the upcoming Closed Beta, and pre-ordering any of the two editions (physical ones of course) via the Uplay shop will get you a numbered steelbook case.
In any case (no pun intended) Rainbow Six Siege appears to be coming out this year, as was previously rumored (http://wccftech.com/rainbow-siege-october-mayhaps/) when gamestop listed it, and now a new advert has been spotted which clearly states “Coming Fall 2015″ (thanks VideoGamer.com, (http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/rainbow_six_siege/news/rainbow_six_siege_autumn_release_window_confirmed. html)) and add the fact that yesterdays Ubi-blog that detailed the 10 new Operators had 2015 listed as the release date of Rainbow Six Siege at the bottom of the post.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rainbow_six_release_date.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/rainbow_six_release_date.jpg)
Rainbow Six Siege looks quite interesting, but seeing as it’s multiplayer only, Ubisoft is slightly giving the boot to the quite large and dedicated Rainbow Six fan base.

Rainbow Six: Siege Preview

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow1-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow1-1920x1080.jpg)

Rainbow Six: Siege PreviewDeveloper: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Platforms: PC, Xbox One, PS4
Release: 2015

When Rainbow Six: Siege debuted at E3 last year. I immediately saw its potential as a successor to Irrational Games' exceptional SWAT 4. The confined yet complex level design, the multiple entry points, the explosive gadgetry, the slick teamwork, it pressed all the right buttons for a fan of close-quarters tactical FPS'. But the demo video was clearly more choreographed than a politician's hand gestures, and I questioned how much relation it would bear to the final product. Last week Ubisoft allowed us access to the game's alpha build. After a few days in the Siege's company, it's clear that, so far anyway, Ubisoft are walking the talk.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow2-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow2-1920x1080.jpg)

The alpha comprised of two multiplayer maps, both of which bid a squad of five special-forces operatives to rescue a hostage from a team of five paramilitaries. All the terrorists need to do is prevent this from happening. A round of Siege is split into three stages. There's the pre-game stage in which players select their role in the squad and vote on where in the chosen map they should spawn. Next comes the preparation stage, where the terrorists fortify their position using barricades, traps, and various other equipment. Meanwhile, the counter-terrorists attempt to locate the hostage using cute little mobile cameras. Finally, there's the action phase, which in the most basic terms is akin to a slower, more thoughtful round of Counter-Strike.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow3-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow3-1920x1080.jpg)

My initial experience of Siege was a little confusing, though this was more down to the nature of the Alpha rather than problems with the game. I was dropped immediately into a match, and as I frantically tried to figure out the controls, I accidentally threw a grenade at the wall rather than planting a breaching charge. Miraculously nobody was hurt, although later on another player made the same mistake and blew up our entire team.

Teething problems aside, I was impressed by how Siege subtly encourages players to work together. Before the round has started, you need to decide where to hole up as the terrorists, or launch your assault as the counter-terrorists. Already you're interacting with your team, communicating voicelessly, making decisions together.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow4-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/04/rainbow-six-siege-preview/rainbow4-1920x1080.jpg)

What's more, each character possesses a unique ability, such as a sledgehammer for battering through the paramilitary barricades, or a heartbeat sensor for spotting CT's through walls. While it isn't immediately obvious which character does what, after a while you come to learn what role your squaddie is best suited for, and more importantly, when to let other players assume the roles they need to.

Toda a analise:

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Will Be Powered By Havok FX, New 4K Screenshots & Trailer

Havok FX is a flexible effects solution for high performance particle physics and debris simulation. Ubisoft is one of the first publishers to announce their support of this new technology through their adoption of Havok FX within Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Rainbow-Six-635x357.jpg (http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Rainbow-Six.jpg)
SIMPLIFIED DEBRIS AND PARTICLE SIMULATION
Havok FX powers physical effects that bridge the gap between accurate rigidbody simulation and purely visual effects forging a new class of in-game effects experience.
FASTEST COLLISION DETECTION AVAILABLE
Havok FX provides a highly parallelizable collision detection system powering a new order of magnitude of particle and debris bodies.
LIGHTWEIGHT C++ FRAMEWORK
Easily integrate Havok FX with existing particle systems and quickly tap a range of existing effects or quickly customize to bring unique physically driven effects in-game.
INTEGRATION WITH HAVOK PHYSICS
Direct integration with the newly re-architected Havok Physics.
Mark Besner, Lead Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal, said:

“Havok FX brought all we needed to push the realism of Realblast, our procedural destruction engine, to a whole new level. With each explosion you see debris, shrapnel and fragments all flying through the environment and reacting dynamically, making each assault even more tense and realistic.”
Brian Waddle Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Havok added:

“Havok FX isn’t just a software package; it’s technology that takes advantage of the step-up from the previous console platforms toward the incredible power of next-gen hardware. This was the perfect opportunity to roll up our sleeves and collaborate with the Rainbow Six Siege team to demonstrate the ability and power of Havok FX. This incredible title showcases the future of particle physics and debris effects on CPU, and we believe the industry as a whole will demand the same high level of fidelity by leveraging Havok FX in future games. Once consumers see Rainbow Six Siege in action, gamers are going to demand this level of quality and immersion from the games industry.”

Ubisoft teases Terrorist Hunt co-op mode for Rainbow Six Siege

E3 2015 - Ubisoft teased The Division at E3 2015 earlier today, but Rainbow Six Siege was also on show. The developer unveiled a live demo of one of Rainbow Six Siege's four Terrorist Hunt ("TerroHunt") modes.

<iframe width="781" height="469" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/fp4wmAbIC4w" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This particular mode has five gamers fighting against AI terrorists in an infiltration of an embassy. The entire demo can be viewed above, giving a great look at Ubisoft's upcoming first-person tactical shooter.

Rainbow Six: Siege is due out on October 13 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC with a beta to soon open up on all three platforms.

IGN and Ubisoft want you to jump into the Rainbow Six Siege beta

Want to be a beta tester for Rainbow Six Siege? It doesn't matter if you're a PC gamer or Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4 console owner - you can throw your hat into the ring right now. Visit the sign up page (http://microsites.ign.com/rb6_betaCodeSweepstakes/?utm_source=IGN%20hub%20page&utm_medium=IGN%20%28front%20page%29&utm_content=6&utm_campaign=Blogroll).

"Come join IGN and Ubisoft for the Rainbow Six Siege Closed Beta event and put your wits and combat skills to the test. Uniquely skilled Operators, the thrilling Siege gameplay, and destructible, intimate combat arenas await in a playable first-person shooter gaming experience you can't miss," the signup page says.

The signup page recommends users sign up sooner rather than later, as the beta access codes will be distributed using a first-come, first-served basis. You can also opt in for a chance to win a few prizes, including a Samsung 65" 4K UHDTV, an Xbox One console, or Rainbow Six Siege Gold Edition and standard game copies.

I tend to just want to jump into a firefight and cause absolute mayhem, so Rainbow Six Siege doesn't seem like the right game for me. However, I tend to enjoy beta testing games, so look forward to giving it a go.

Rainbow Six Siege is scheduled to launch on October 13 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Ubisoft is one of the first publishers to announce their support for Havok FX, a flexible effects solution for high performance particle physics and debris simulation, through their adoption of Havok FX within Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

LIGHTWEIGHT C++ FRAMEWORK

New Rainbow Six Siege Trailer Shows Intense Moments of Preperation

A new trailer for Rainbow Six Siege was shown off at Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 live-stream today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTOJHiw_t5k

Rainbow Six Siege is getting closer to release, and Microsoft shows us yet another great trailer.Intense music underscores the rapid preparation needed to pull off the type of operations that you’ll be asked to do in Rainbow Six Siege. Not a gameplay trailer, though it still highlights the precision needed in order to get things right so you can succeed without casualties.
At Gamescom you’ll be able to stop by the Ubisoft booth and play as the GSG9 during their gameplay demo. The question then is, do you have what it takes to lay siege to a group of criminals or terrorists? What would Ding Chavez do.
If you aren’t able to make it to Gamescom, Rainbow Six Siege will be releasing on October 16th. If you decide to pre-order for the Xbox One, you’ll be blessed with two older Rainbow Six games, Vegas and Vegas 2, that will be playable on the Xbox One via the newly implemented backwards compatibility (http://wccftech.com/e3-2015-xbox-one-backwards-compatibility-360-games/).
Rainbow Six Siege is available now at your choice of retailers for around $59.99 (http://amzn.to/1P4StrY). It’ll be a revival of the classic Tom Clancy series that began with one of his seminal works. The gameplay will center around small unit tactics inside mostly enclosed areas, striving to have you think quickly on your feet to complete your objectives. You’ll be able to use the environment to your advantage to dominate your opponents.

Rainbow Six: Siege Delayed Until December For Further Refinements

Ubisoft has just announced (http://blog.ubi.com/rainbow-six-siege-delay/) that they are delaying the release of Rainbow Six: Siege until December 1st 2015 instead of coming out this October.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/helix_r6_hr_retailimage_final_us_a-635x449.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/helix_r6_hr_retailimage_final_us_a.jpg)
Rainbow Six: Siege delayed due to player feedback, Ubisoft want to further improve the mechanics. The many different venues in which Rainbow Six: Siege has been available to play in, in addition to the closed-testing that they’ve had thus far have allowed Ubisoft to take into consideration the feedback from those many different sources in order to better refine the game for more enjoyment.

It seems that while the reception has been mostly positive, there are some very apparent things that need to either be fixed, changed or simply removed. That’s why they’ll be delaying the released until December so that they may further enhance the issues that have been noted and add that extra bit of polish.

With that in mind, we’ve decided to push the release date of Rainbow Six Siege to December 1, 2015 for all regions. This wasn’t an easy decision, but based on the feedback we’ve received, and based on our own internal tests, we felt there are adjustments and improvements we can make, including improving the co-op experience across all game modes, weapon and gadget balancing, as well as menu and interface navigation. We’re taking a little more time to make these changes, and we think it’s the right call.
The official closed-beta is still scheduled for September 24th, however, just as planned. That will go a long way in refining the matchmaking and server infrastructure.

Rainbow Six Siege Install Size On Xbox One Revealed

The Xbox Store has once again revealed the install size of an upcoming title. This time around, it’s the file size of Ubisoft’s upcoming Rainbow Six Siege.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Rainbow-Six-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Rainbow-Six.jpg)
The release date of the title is still 1 month away, but already the Xbox Store has already given away the game’s file size on the Xbox One. Earlier, file sizes for Resident Evil Zero (http://wccftech.com/resident-evil-0-hd-remaster-file-size-revealed/), Need for Speed (http://wccftech.com/need-for-speed-file-size-of-xbox-one-version-revealed/), Rise of the Tomb Raider, (http://wccftech.com/rise-tomb-raiders-file-size-xbox-flat/) and Fallout 4 (http://wccftech.com/fallout-4-file-size-revealed-xbox-marketplace/) were revealed through the Xbox Store.
According to the listing (https://store.xbox.com/nl-NL/Xbox-One/Games/TOM-CLANCYS-RAINBOW-SIX-SIEGE/b0725d24-bc6d-4d63-9604-d3f17fe594ed), Siege weighs in at 16.54GB, and as recent file sizes go, this is modest at least. Recent titles tend to be over 30GB in size, with the recent Batman: Arkham Knight taking up to 50GB on your hard drive.

Developer Ubisoft Montreal, is the first publisher to adopt the use of Havok FX technology within Rainbow Six: Siege. Havok FX is a brand new CPU-driven software product that is said to deliver unprecedented levels of detail and physics to particle effects. Havok FX allows developers to physically enable particle systems and to add a new gameplay dimension to previously aesthetic visual effects.
Rainbow Six: Siege to use Havok FX“Havok FX brought all we needed to push the realism of Realblast, our procedural destruction engine, to a whole new level. With each explosion you see debris, shrapnel and fragments all flying through the environment and reacting dynamically, making each assault even more tense and realistic,” says Mark Besner, Lead Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal.
“Havok FX isn’t just a software package; it’s technology that takes advantage of the step-up from the previous console platforms toward the incredible power of next-gen hardware,” says Brian Waddle Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Havok. “This was the perfect opportunity to roll up our sleeves and collaborate with the Rainbow Six Siege team to demonstrate the ability and power of Havok FX.
Rainbow Six released on December 1st for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game was originally scheduled for a release in October.

Last week, Ubisoft revealed the system specs for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (http://wccftech.com/pc-system-requirements-assassins-creed-syndicate-revealed/), which will release on November 19.
Rainbow Six Siege was announced last year, being developed exclusively for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In May of this year, Ubisoft announced that the game would be delayed to October, but in August the publisher decided to push back the release to December 1st. The Siege development team posted a message regarding the delay on the Ubisoft Blog (http://blog.ubi.com/rainbow-six-siege-delay/):

Whether it’s been through playtests in our studios, the closed alpha, or recent hands-on demos at events like E3 or Gamescom, player feedback has been essential to the development of Rainbow Six Siege. Getting the game in people’s hands and listening to what they have to say helps us understand how we can improve their experience, and we’d like to thank everyone who’s taken part in the process so far.

Rainbow Six: Siege Ranked Matches Detailed; Custom Matches Will Get Dedicated Servers

http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Rainbow-Six-7-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Rainbow-Six-7.jpg)
Ubisoft just published a new blog post (http://rainbow6.ubi.com/siege/en-GB/news/detail.aspx?c=tcm:154-228106-16&ct=tcm:148-76770-32)detailing Rainbow Six: Siege ranked matches for the first time.

RANKED: New Details

Ranked matches have voting on spawn/objective location
Ranked matches do NOT have Death Replays
Ranked matches will utilize a minimal HUD setting

No scoring indicators
No grenade indicators
No threat indicators
No reload indicators
No teammate outline
No kill confirmation marker

There’s also good news about custom matches, which will feature dedicated servers (although not in all cases).

CUSTOM MATCHES: New Details

Will be playable on dedicated servers (in an update shortly after launch), with the following constraints:
Match requires 10 players in it
The data center that will host the game will be the closest one to the player who created the custom game session.
Once the lobby has been created, the server will wait a certain amount of time for it to be filled up to 10 players. If the wait duration goes above a certain limit, the custom game session will be cancelled.
Custom games hosted on dedicated servers will not be listed and will be accessed by invitation only, after the lobby is created.
Custom matches that aren’t held on dedicated servers (LAN or peer-to-peer) will be listed in a server browser.

That’s not everything, though. Ubisoft also detailed the general improvements to gameplay and online experience in Rainbow Six: Siege after the closed beta event. Matchmaking and downtime between matches were improved, for example:

MATCHMAKING: Multiple long-term improvements

Thanks to all the data gathered during the Closed Beta, we have decided to remove some unnecessary complexities of the underlying matchmaking systems, while preserving our core values of matching players based on (not sorted by priority) their skill, account level, network performance and geographical location. We’re not ready to release the details until a couple more tests have been run, but we’ve seen very significant improvements in matchmaking times.

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER: Downtime between rounds reduced by about 30 seconds

All end-of-round reports (meter and scoreboard) are now removed. Scoreboard can be accessed from the Operator selection screen.
Best of 5 for unranked matches, 6 rounds + best of 3 overtime for ranked matches.
[Unranked Only] Objective and insertion point voting for ATK and DEF removed, and will be random. The game will communicate the spawn location during the operator loading screen.

Finally, balancing tweaks include a nerf to shield operators and adjustments to Pulse.

Operators
SHIELD OPERATORS: Reduced hipfire accuracy plus other small balancing tweaks

Laser sight bonus reduction will decrease the efficiency of hip firing
Dispersion increased by 2.5x while hip firing with a shield equipped
Dispersion further increased up to 5x while taking fire on the shield.

http://static9.cdn.ubi.com/resource/en-GB/game/rainbow6/siege/ShieldRecoil_228108.gif

PULSE: Cardiac Sensor has been polished for greater player comfort

Added 3D visual Feedback on the screen with a ‘sonar style’ feel. This should increase navigational comfort for players while using Pulse. We also increased the refresh-rate of detection and accelerated the booting of the device.

http://static9.cdn.ubi.com/resource/en-GB/game/rainbow6/siege/CardiacNew_228110.gif

IQ: Increased the range of detection for the EDD to 15m. We didn’t want to increase too much or else the player would detect too many gadgets at one time, making the situation difficult to read.
BANDIT: Increased damage given by electrified gadgets and reduced visual audio feedback for rival team. Opponents will need to be closer to detect. Increased damage values are not yet final.
Weapons & Gadgets
416-C: Increased recoil to be on par with other rifles
Shooting Mechanics
GRIPS: Reduced recoil reduction bonus

During Closed Beta, adding a grip to a firearm lowered recoil by 40%. Now it is lowered by only 25%.

LASER SIGHTS: Reduced the accuracy bonus

During Closed Beta, laser sights gave firearms a 40% accuracy bonus, which we’ve reduced to around 23%.

These changes are meant to reduce the overall effectiveness of hipfiring, and encourage more tactical, purposeful shooting in ADS.
Rainbow Six: Siege is set for release on December 1 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; check out the official system requirements (http://wccftech.com/rainbow-siege-system-specs-revealed/).

Siege will release on all platforms on December 1, prior to its official release, Ubisoft allows players to play with the operators, check out a few of the maps and modes on offer, and help the developers run one last stress test.

Because of the Open Beta, all players will be able to pre-load the game on November 23, and those who participated in the Closed Beta in September will be able to jump into the Open Beta a day early (on November 24). During the Open Beta, you’ll have access to 14 operators (out of the 20 that will be available at launch), including 3 of the Russian Spetsnaz operators (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrYyB8K3Wlw) you may have seen during the Closed Beta – Glaz, Tachanka and Kapkan.
The Secure Area and Bomb PvP modes will be open during the beta, as well as the Disarm Bomb PvE Terrorist Hunt mode. Those of you who took part in the Closed Beta might already be familiar with two of the Open Beta’s available maps – Hereford and House – but this will be your first opportunity to check out the Kanal map seen in the Gamescom trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd0SwJQ7o-8). All three maps will be playable in both PvE and PvP, in either the day or night setting.

'Rainbow Six Siege' Beta Set For Nov. 25-29; Four Expansions Planned For 2016

http://media.bestofmicro.com/C/5/540869/gallery/Rainbow-Six-Siege-roadmap_w_600.jpg (http://www.tomshardware.com/gallery/Rainbow-Six-Siege-roadmap,0101-540869-0-2-12-1-jpg-.html)
Before the game launches on December 1, Ubisoft is allowing more players to test Rainbow Six Siege one final time with an open beta (http://blog.ubi.com/rainbow-six-siege-open-beta/) on all platforms from November 25-29. It will feature 14 of the 20 characters, or "operators," along with three maps. Along with that announcement, the developers also revealed a roadmap for the game's future content.
When the game comes out, there will obviously be updates with various tweaks to its performance. Starting in January, however, developers will provide a major expansion. A total of four expansions are planned for 2016, arriving in three-month intervals. All in all, the four large batches of content will include eight new characters, four maps, new weapons, additional game modes, and more cosmetic items.
With each release, the maps and new modes will be available to play from the start. However, the new characters and additional weapon skins need to be unlocked with Renown points or R6 Credits. You can earn Renown in multiplayer with kills, helping teammates, and completing Daily Challenges. For the base game, you start with one operator and must spend Renown to unlock more characters (the first locked character will cost 500 Renown; the second will cost 1,000 Renown, and so on). Unlocking new operators from the expansion will cost even more -- specifically, 25,000 Renown.
If you're impatient or not gaining as much Renown as you'd like, you could opt to buy R6 credits, which come in packages of 600, 1200, 2670, 4920 and 7560. Ubisoft said that a pack of 600 R6 Credits will cost $4.99. While the price to unlock new characters increases in the base game and costs 25,000 Renown in the expansion, you would only need 600 R6 Credits to unlock extra operators. The microtransaction credits are also used to buy Renown Boosters or Tier 4 and 5 weapon skins, which can't be bought with Renown points.
So far, Ubisoft revealed only the name of the first expansion set for January, which is called "Operation Black Ice." More details about the other expansions and their release dates are bound to arrive in the coming months.

HBAO+, TXAA, G-Sync

Ubisoft's Rainbow Six: Siege is scheduled to be launched on December 1st and according to the latest trailer, it will use Nvidia GameWorks effects on the PC.

According to the newest trailer, Rainbow Six: Siege will implement Nvidia HBAO+ for better shadow effects and improved ambient occlusion, TXAA anti-aliasing as well as support for Nvidia G-Sync technology, which should provide smoother, stutter-free gameplay on G-Sync enabled monitors.
At its Geforce.com site Nvidia has anounced (http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/rainbow-six-siege-geforce-gtx-960-recommended) that the recommended GPU for running the game at 1920x1080 and high level of details is the GTX 960, while in case you want the same level of details at 2560x1440, you will need the Geforce GTX 970.
http://www.fudzilla.com/images/stories/2015/November/nvidia-rainbowsixsiegerec-1.png
Nvidia was also keen to mention that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege is also a part of the Bullets or Blades bundle (http://www.geforce.com/BULLETSORBLADES) which allows you to chose either that or Assassin's Creed Syndicate with Geforce GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980 Ti desktop graphics cards or GTX 970M or above GPU-equipped notebook.

The Rainbow Six Siege open beta has been delayed (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/the-rainbow-six-siege-open-beta-has-been-delayed/)

Rainbow Six: Siege was due to kick off another beta test today, though this time it would be open to everyone. That is concerning enough given that the game actually releases next week but now the beta itself has been pushed back due to issues on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For now, the game is still under ‘closed beta’ status while the issues are resolved.
In an update on the Ubisoft forum (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1337222-Rainbow-Six-Siege-Open-Beta-Status-Forums?), the game’s community manager explained that the team is “currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms”. As a result of that, the open beta is being postponed until “a later time”.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/thumbnail_2173951.png (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/thumbnail_2173951.png)
The open beta is supposed to contain three maps and three game modes two of which are PvP while the other is a PvE mode. There will be around a year of free updates to the game with new maps and such, though there will also be a season pass involved.
For now, we don’t know when the open beta will take place but it seems that Ubisoft is really trying to stick to its 1st of December release date for this game.

Ubisoft claims Rainbow Six: Siege will be fixed for launch (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/ubisoft-claims-rainbow-six-siege-will-be-fixed-for-launch/)

Ubisoft gave us cause for concern yesterday when it announced that it would be delaying the open beta for its upcoming shooter, Rainbow Six: Siege, due to matchmaking issues (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/the-rainbow-six-siege-open-beta-has-been-delayed/), particularly since the game is due to release on Tuesday. However, Ubisoft is now claiming that all issues should be fixed before launch in just a few days time.
The main issue that caused the open beta delay has already been identified but until the fix rolls out to everyone, the beta will remain under ‘closed’ status. That means anyone who previously had access to the game’s closed testing phases should be able to play now, but those who missed out will need to wait.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/thumbnail_21739511.png (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/thumbnail_21739511.png)
The problem was explained last night: “Game sessions are not starting properly and we’ve encountered server issues, leading to failed connections. We’ve identified the root issue that was introduced after the Technical Test while fixing a separate aspect of the game.”
According to the updated FAQ (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1337222-Rainbow-Six-Siege-Open-Beta-Status-Forums?), this issue will be fixed for launch, there is also a reminder that betas are here for this specific reason- to root out issues before launch. “We are confident the game will work as intended since the known issue will be fixed soon. Therefore the launch will not be impacted by this issue”, Ubisoft concludes.

Rainbow Six: Siege open beta is now live (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/rainbow-six-siege-open-beta-is-now-live/)

After a little stumble earlier this week, Ubisoft’s shockingly timed open beta for Rainbow Six: Siege is now live for everyone to try out. The open beta was due to start a few days ago but had to be postponed due to a last-minute matchmaking bug, which was identified and fixed around 24 hours later. While the open beta was postponed, the closed beta did carry on as previous, so plenty of people could still play the game while changes were being made.
The bug caused the servers to fail while starting a new game session, this also meant connectivity issues for most players on all three platforms.

The open beta servers did eventually open up last night, so if anyone is curious about this game, or is thinking about grabbing it when it launches on Tuesday, then now is your chance to see how it runs ahead of time. Hopefully this weekend will give the developers plenty of time to monitor things and make any last-minute changes.

Ubisoft's latest 'The Breach' trailer for Rainbow Six: Siege

Ubisoft says it will have Rainbow Six: Siege ready for launch, without problems, but before the launch on Tuesday the developer has released a new trailer dubbed "The Breach".

<iframe width="781" height="469" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RPY3TQSolm4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The trailer features a famous speech by Henry V in the eponymous 1600 play, before the battle. It kicks off with the line "once more unto the breach, dear friends". Ubisoft changed it up a bit, adding: "Close the wall up with our English dead," becomes "... our brave men dead" with the following line cut: "In peace there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility". ubisofts-latest-the-breach-trailer-rainbow-six-siege_02

Rainbow Six Siege Beta Gameplay Only Has Small Moments of Excitement

The beta for Rainbow Six Siege is well underway, and it’s certainly not without it’s share of problems. We tried playing it over the past holiday weekend and ended up having more issues than enjoyment. But we were able to connect to the servers without issues on a number of occasions, and want to know how the game plays? Take a look.

<iframe width="635" height="388" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Htkz7Hf7v84" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Rainbow Six Siege is almost the perfect tactical simulator, complete with value-added boredom. Certainly the problems will be a sticking point for many potential players, with connection issues and even loading issues being rampart. Frustrated individuals disconnecting at the first sign of too long a wait compounds the problem as well. Once in a server and actually playing the game certainly does take on a flavor that’s all its own and not really directly comparable to many games in existence.
The playground in Rainbow Six Siege does consist of most of the house, though there are some areas blocked completely from destruction even if they would be perfect entry points to where your enemies are hiding. Gunplay is fast, when it happens, and it’s vicious.
Advertisements

But being a small map and with very small teams the moments of action are few and far between, and the rounds desperately short. If the terrorist team in the VS mode uses a smart tactic, there’ll also be a lot of waiting in-between. That also inevitably leads to frustration as “camping” is rarely a fun tactic for the opposing team no matter how sensible it actually is when defending a given point.
But if you’re willing to play tactically and really play with your team, it can be very rewarding despite the lulls in action. Unfortunately I feel it’s going to be one of those games that, while initially novel and great, will succumb to the fact that there is only so much variety to be had with destruction. It’s great being able to use the environment in such a way, but in the end the variety might not necessarily be there for everyone to be kept interested.
The minor connection and server bugs are expected to be ironed out before release and graphically it’s mostly very stable. No other issues were encountered during our matches. We’d, of course, appreciate any feedback on how everyone else enjoys it and what issues you’re experiencing so far.

Quick Fix for Strange Rainbow Six Siege Steam Pre-Load Issue

Apparently there might be some issues with those that bought Rainbow Six Siege from Steam and are attempting to pre-load it. You might be asked to completely re-download it. 14.36GB isn’t necessarily huge by today’s standards, but that could pose an issue for those on metered Internet services.
Rest assured, however, that there is a relatively easy, though lengthy, fix (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1342218-Steam-Known-Pre-load-Issue-%28with-workaround%29?p=11182984#post11182984) that can workaround the current issue. The issue thankfully doesn’t resolve around corrupt files from Steam servers.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/SiegetheDay-635x352.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/SiegetheDay.jpg)
Siege the day with this fix for a mystyfying Rainbow Six Siege pre-load error in Steam. The first thing to attempt to do, that might fix it, is to check the integrity of the game files through Steam. This has a good chance of fixing the issue, with you only having to re-download a smaller portion of the game. If that doesn’t work, let’s move on to the more interesting workaround.
Advertisements

Move your game files to another folder completely away from the usual Steam folder (or wherever you happen to have it installed). Delete the local content in your Steam folder and then move the game files back into the original place that you moved them from.
Doing the above should force Steam to recognize the game so you don’t have to re-download anything. Thankfully there’s nothing wrong with the game data being downloaded from Steam’s servers, just that a strange problem seems to be preventing proper playing of Rainbow Six Siege.
Rainbow Six Siege could very well become the next Counter-Strike with it’s large emphasis on team-work and the ability to nearly completely destroy environments, leading to a vast amount of variety in gameplay. There are several server issues that have hopefully been resolved since the beta has concluded.

Rainbow Six: Siege Review

Rainbow Six: Siege Review

Price: £49.99
Developer: Ubisoft
Publisher: Ubisoft
Platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One

When Rainbow Six: Siege works, it's a fantastic game. When the abilities are balanced, the teams are coordinated, the defences strategically placed and the infiltration tactically considered, it's one of the most tense and thrilling multiplayer experiences around. At its height, siege is a beautiful blend of good old fashioned tactical shooting built around a more modern asymmetric multiplayer design. It has the potential to be the best gaming experience you have all year. When it works.

When it doesn't work, Rainbow Six: Siege is chaotic and uneven. It doesn't fall apart, not completely. But when the teams are disorganised, the victory conditions tend to recede to whoever has the fastest finger trigger or the most robust abilities. This is frustrating and, in my opinion, not entirely unavoidable.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege2-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege2-1920x1080.jpg)

What Rainbow Six: Siege never is, however, is boring, and this is what will rescue it from the asymmetric cemetery where the games like Evolve and The Flock are interred. Even with the most hapless team of cack-handed, gung-ho loons, storming an entrenched position in Siege is electric and compulsive, if not always elegant.

There are various modes to Siege, but all of them revolve around the same multiplayer-focussed premise, wherein a team of special operatives must assault a building defended by a group of terrorists. Each round is split into two phases. In the first, the defenders have thirty seconds to establish their fortifications - setting up barricades, reinforcing walls, laying traps, and finding a strong position to fight from. At the same time, the attackers must use remote-controlled drones to locate their objective, be it a hostage that needs rescuing or a bomb that requires defusing.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege3-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege3-1920x1080.jpg)

Then the execution phase begins, which depending on your team, will either be a series of cautious manoeuvres culminating in a brief and deadly exchange of gunfire, or a haphazard spray of bullets and explosions that chokes the air with smoke and debris. Either can be fun, and surprising, but when the former happens, that's when the game becomes special.
There have been some curious changes since the beta that did the rounds earlier this year.

Despite an opening cinematic that suggests a new and deadly terrorist threat which Rainbow Six must counter, during multiplayer there's no real distinction between terrorist and counter-terrorist. Regardless of whether you're attacking or defending, everyone chooses between a bunch of counter-terrorism specialists, equipped with different items for either assault or defence. This doesn't have a massive effect on the game, but it is a weird thematic inconsistency.

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege4-614x345.jpg (http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2015/12/rainbow-six-siege-review/siege4-1920x1080.jpg)

That said, the variety of specialists does contribute to the at-times uneven feel of the game. There are around twenty to choose from, each coming with a unique ability such as laying booby-traps on doors and windows, deploying reinforced barricades, or smashing through them with a sledgehammer. The majority amount to minor tactical tweaks, but a few do tip the balance considerably in a player's favour. In particular, anyone equipped with a riot shield is has a significant advantage. It often only takes one or two shots to end your round in Shield, but it's very difficult to place those shots when your opponent is clutching a giant bulletproof rectangle in front of them.

Upcoming Rainbow Six Siege Fixes Detailed By Ubisoft During AMA

A few hours ago, Ubisoft held an AMA session (https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/3v6gw6/rainbow_six_siege_developer_ama_on_december_7th/) detailing plenty of upcoming Rainbow Six Siege fixes.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay.jpg)
First of all, they talked about the first Rainbow Six Siege fixes coming in the update scheduled to hit by mid-December.

Fixed: Pawn rotation latency: the difference between a player’s action, the server’s perception and another player seeing said action had an extra delay due to a bug. This had even more impact on shield wielding Operators since sometimes players using those would think they were protected while they were not because of the additional delay caused by the pawn rotation bug.
Fixed: Shield positioning while rappelling: certain shield angles were not being replicated properly, this caused the shield wielding player to be overprotected in certain cases. This caused hit detection issues for the player shooting at the shield wielding player.
Fixed: Shooting and moving while rappelling: when moving and shooting while in rappel, the hits were sometimes not registered properly by the server.
Improved: Kill cam replication issues: the kill cam was not displaying an accurate representation of hit positions. The point of view seen after death was not the exact point of view of the killer. Moreover, we have instances in which the kill cam shows body parts sticking through walls while they actually weren’t being seen from the killer’s perspective. This has been improved for the next title update, but we still need additional work on this. It is still considered under development.

Another hot issue raised by the community is that of lag. An improvement to tick rate is coming, apparently, along with the ability to pick a specific data center:

We are currently investigating having a higher tick rate, which would improve positioning and shooting replication. The current servers run at a tick rate of 64, but the position of players is updated 30 times per second. We have plans to address this very soon and are currently running tests in which we have a position update rate of 60. If the results are satisfying, we will be deploying this in a future update as soon as possible.
Advertisements

Another issue we will be working on is that right now, some players connect to the wrong data centers. If you are not connected to the nearest data center, your gameplay experience will likely not be ideal. We believe that the best solution for this will be to allow the players to select their data centers and that is what we will be working on.
There’s a lot more Rainbow Six Siege fixes and additions planned, though. For instance, the team is looking at the possibility to add more attachments for guns, more weapon skins and global leaderboards.
Something that is definitely coming is an increase in the chat character limit, from 64 characters to 128; a Spectator Camera will also be added on all platforms, for dedicated servers within custom games, in early 2016.
The University map, currently available only in PvE modes, will be added to the PvP rotation as well. Ubisoft is also evaluating whether to let players customize their character between rounds, and they are working on something along the lines of statistics/infographics and clan tags.
Finally, they are working on some way to help distinguishing friends from foes without disrupting immersion. Are you having fun with Rainbow Six Siege so far? Let us know in the comments!

First Rainbow Six Siege DLC delayed until February 2nd

The first DLC for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (http://amzn.to/1kFldNN), as part season one or Operation Black Ice, has been delayed for season pass holders until February 2nd, a slight delay if anything.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/9/49376_21_rainbow-six-siege-dlc-delayed-until-february-2nd.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/9/49376_21_rainbow-six-siege-dlc-delayed-until-february-2nd_full.jpg)

Originally the new content, which includes new operators from the Canadian Joint Task Force 2 Counter-Terrorism unit, a new map and some new weapon skins, was originally planned for release on January 26th for those that have purchased a season pass.

Ubisoft confirmed the slight delay on Twitter (https://twitter.com/Rainbow6Game/status/683957072342417408) while answering a question from a fan, and they reiterated that season pass holders merely have early access to the new content, and everything will be available for free for all players of the game. If you're a PC gamer, we highly recommend downloading the Ultra HD texture pack (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/49008/rainbow-six-siege-dlc-includes-ultra-hd-texture-pack-more/index.html) while waiting for the DLC to arrive.

Rainbow Six Siege PC Patch 1.2 Out Now; January 14th For Xbox One & PS4

Rainbow Six Siege PC has received an update (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1368508-Patch-Notes-Update-1-2?), which is available now. Patch 1.2 will be available for both the PS4 and Xbox One on January 14.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay.jpg)
According Ubisoft, the patch is released on PC first “because of the faster deployment process, in order to test the impact the fixes have and adjust if needed”.
Most important tweaks and improvements, include hit registration improvements, and data center selection for PC. On top of that, the update improves matchmaking. For the full patch notes, check out the details below.
Rainbow Six PC Patch brings data center selection
General Tweaks and Improvements Hit Registration Improvements
Updated the server tick rate for all PC users, coming soon to consoles
With the goal of improving positioning and shooting replication, we had deployed a first update on PC in which the player position update rate is set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30). This change however has been done in an intermittent fashion and in certain regions only, as we were testing various configurations. We are now satisfied with its state so we are now deploying this update to all PC users. As soon as this feature has been validated with this more massive test on PC, we will be deploying this update on consoles as soon as possible.
Data center selection is now possible (PC users only, for now)
PC users can change their default data centers in the Rainbow Six game settings file (gamesettings.ini), which is usually located in the ‘My Documents\My Games\your Uplay ID’ folder. Change the DataCenterHint value from ‘default’ to the region’s short name that you wish to have as your default data center. The available region short names can be found just above the DataCenterHint line.
Note that we are planning to eventually expose this in the in-game UI for all platforms and this PC-exclusive feature is only a first step.
Matchmaking Improvements
Refining the quality of PVP matches with more evenly matched opponents
Added a criteria that increases the odds of pre-made parties being matched against a squad with an equal number of pre-made parties within them.
Skill criterion originating from the player’s region is now more precise.
Improved connectivity to PVP and PVE matches
Increased match quality by ensuring players using the same data center get matched together, leading to better ping.
Improved accuracy of the estimated waiting time while in lobby.
Top Community-Raised Bug Fixes Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list and that we are only highlighting fixes that were done about the most commonly raised community bugs.
Gameplay Fixes
Ranked matches HUD synch with Casual update has been applied (read: playlist changes from this post).

Rainbow Six Siege Patch 1.3 Detailed, Server Tick Rate Improvement Coming On Consoles Today

Rainbow Six Siege has received a new patch just a few days ago (http://wccftech.com/rainbow-six-siege-pc-patch-1-2-out-now-january-14th-for-xbox-one-ps4/), but it seems like Ubisoft isn’t done adjusting and tweaking the game this month, as another patch is hitting the PC version of the game today.
http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay-635x357.jpg (http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/rainbow_six_siege_gameplay.jpg)
With a post on the game’s official forums (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1370867-Patch-Notes-Update-1-3), Ubisoft has detailed the 1.3 patch. The third patch for Rainbow Six Siege is smaller than the previous ones because the team felt they needed to fix some issues quickly. The publisher has also confirmed that all the improvements of the 1.3 patch will come to the console versions of the game on January 20th with the exclusion of the Server Tick Rate improvement, which will be live for the console versions today.

GENERAL TWEAKS & IMPROVEMENTS
(Live for PC and consoles, as of Jan. 13th)
HIT REGISTRATION IMPROVEMENTS

Updated the server tick rate for console users
With the goal of improving positioning and shooting replication, we had deployed a first update on PC in which the player position update rate is set to 60 times per second (vs. the previous 30). After testing, we are satisfied with its state so we are now deploying this update to all consoles as well.

ANTI-CHEATING IMPROVEMENTS
Advertisements

Cheating countermeasures have been improved further.
Banning policy update: all cheaters detected by the system will be banned permanently. No more three day ban for first offense.

EXPLOIT FIX: DEFENDERS EXITING THE PREPARATION PHASE

Added a configuration that allows us to turn ON an insta-kill configuration for Defenders that go outside their zone during the preparation phase (this behavior should not be possible, but if exploits are found, the guilty shall be punished by a swift death!)
We will be able to activate this functionality at any time. We will first be testing it on XB1 during the afternoon of January 13th (Montreal time). If it proves effective, we will be deploying this on all platforms later that day.

TOP COMMUNITY-RAISED BUG FIXES
(Live for PC on Jan. 13th, live for consoles on Jan. 20th)
Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list and that we are only highlighting fixes that were done about the most commonly raised community bugs.
LEVEL DESIGN FIXES

Fixed a bug that allowed players to exit their zone during the preparation phase (red wall). When transitioning from proning to standing position combined with putting up a barricade, players were able to go through walls. We believe this exploit is now solved. Please share your experience in this forum thread (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1370757-HIGH-PRIORITY-ISSUE-Defenders-Allowed-To-Go-Outside-During-Prep-Phase-%28Red-Wall%29) if you still encounter it after the patch (information we are looking for listed in opening post).

ONLINE FIXES

Session authentication operation requests are now using the per data center proxy instead of the Dev one.
Improved error tracking, for easier issue identification from our side.
Ranked match reconnection fixes for PC:

If game was closed by pressing [x] or ALT+F4, the players will not be leaving all sessions anymore.
Players leaving a Ranked match by pressing F10 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.
Players leaving a Ranked match by quitting with ALT+F4 will now be receiving reconnect & abandon messages.

Various smaller connectivity and crash fixes.

Rainbow Six Siege is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/9/49797_31_new-rainbow-six-siege-operators-show-screenshots.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/4/9/49797_31_new-rainbow-six-siege-operators-show-screenshots_full.jpg)

The two newcomers are Buck and Frost, both of Canadian origin, bringing some unique abilities into the fray. Frost brings with her a "welcome mat" which is a mechanical trap that she can deploy to slow down any would-be adversaries and Buck brings with him a "skeleton key" which is an under-barrel shotgun attachment. A fitting term because shotguns are frequently used as a "key" to breach locked or barricaded doors.

These two Canadian operators are going to be part of the Operation Black Ice DLC (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/49376/first-rainbow-six-siege-dlc-delayed-until-february-2nd/index.html), which is the first major expansion coming to Rainbow Six Siege. Thankfully, though the DLC might also cost, each new character can actually be unlocked through normal gameplay, so there's no need to spend any extra money on anything. And they've even determined that it should take between two to three weeks to unlock new characters too.

Rainbow Six Siege patch 2.0 breaks the game, fixes little

The newest patch that came out yesterday (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50164/rainbow-six-sieges-update-operation-black-ice-now/index.html) on all platforms for Rainbow Six Siege actually brought with it more problems than it tried to fix, making the game almost unplayable in some cases.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50210_1_rainbow-six-siege-patch-2-breaks-game-fixes-little.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50210_1_rainbow-six-siege-patch-2-breaks-game-fixes-little_full.jpg)

Ubisoft themselves has acknowledged (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1332624-Top-Priorities-and-Known-Issues-Updated-1-7-2016) a lot of major issues and are keeping track of what's when they're fixed. And there're a lot of reported issues according to their forum post and the sub-reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/).

In there are three particular bugs that actually ruin the game: the knife doesn't register any hits, the player models get stuck in a T-pose type pose that prevents the enemy from actually seeing your orientation and hit registration isn't working very well at all. There's also been reported some performance issues with SLI not working properly, or at all in some cases. AMD performance issues have also popped up in this patch and Crossfire seems to be the culprit. Disabling it seems to fix the issue.

They're working hard on fixing each individual issue, and have pushed out smaller updates as some of the problems have been sorted. A larger patch is expected in mid-February that'll fix some of the more complicated client and server side issues.

Rainbow Six Siege update 2.1 now on PC, adds custom dedicated servers (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50323/rainbow-six-siege-update-2-1-now-pc-adds-custom-dedicated-servers/index.html)

When patch 2.0 hit, it seemed to break the game (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50210/rainbow-six-siege-patch-2-breaks-game-fixes-little/index.html) in more ways than was intended. Ubisoft was quick on the draw and dolled out fixes for a majority of the most serious of issues. Patch 2.1 fixes the remainder of the bugs that showed up and adds some much needed variety into the mix.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50323_1_rainbow-six-siege-update-2-1-coming-pc-adds-custom-games.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50323_1_rainbow-six-siege-update-2-1-coming-pc-adds-custom-games_full.jpg)

One of the bets new features is the ability to setup a 10-player custom game that can be hosted on a dedicated server. This means it'll be much harder to cheat and the game will be much more stable as well. There are some small issues still surrounding the use of dedicated custom servers, but those will be addressed in the future. Right now if the match creator quits, then the server will shut down.

In the patch note they've listed the most severe bugs and have noted their having been squashed in this update. It isn't everything that was encountered, but it encompasses the majority of the game-breaking issues that cropped up (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50210/rainbow-six-siege-patch-2-breaks-game-fixes-little/index.html). Check out what it fixed below. And don't be afraid to tell them of any other bugs you encounter.

Rainbow Six Siege is doubling up on anti-cheating in the latest patch (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50774/rainbow-six-siege-doubling-up-anti-cheating-latest-patch/index.html)

The newest update to Rainbow Six Siege is getting serious about cheating, which is surprisingly common in the nearly newly released tactical FPS.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50774_1_rainbow-six-siege-doubling-up-anti-cheating-latest-patch.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/0/50774_1_rainbow-six-siege-doubling-up-anti-cheating-latest-patch_full.jpg)

The game is entering the pro's, and as such it needed a stronger foundation to help better prevent cheating, exploitation of maps (and glitches) and even rampant examples of spawn-killing. So now there's a "report" button that lets you tell Ubisoft when you think someone is doing something untoward, who will review data and make a call on what to do.

They've also introduced a kill-cam, which not helps you make sure that your death was actually somewhat legitimate. Quite a bit of time has been spent ensuring that the netcode and networking backend work well enough that lag shouldn't even be the reason for funny kills. But, of course, they've added quite a bit more to the patch as well.

It used to be that you'd find a skill difference between players that was up to 9%, but they've tweaked the matchmaking algorithm to try to keep players within a 2-4% skill difference. So you're teammates won't be holding you back quite so much. In addition to all of the competitive fixes, there are some under the hood gameplay bug fixes that should make dying so frequently more palpable, with much better hit registration.

Ubisoft is even more serious about cheaters in Rainbow Six Siege (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/51038/ubisoft-even-more-serious-cheaters-rainbow-six-siege/index.html)

Ubisoft is getting tired of the rampant cheating that seems to happen in Rainbow Six Siege (http://amzn.to/1U0B3CM). They've already released one patch (http://www.tweaktown.com/news/50774/rainbow-six-siege-doubling-up-anti-cheating-latest-patch/index.html) that took care of a lot of latent exploits in the various levels, and it also made it possible to report people for alleged cheating. But that doesn't seem to have been enough. Now they're expanding their criteria when looking for cheaters in their game. So cheaters beware.

http://imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/1/51038_1_ubisoft-even-more-serious-cheaters-rainbow-six-siege.jpg (http://www.tweaktown.com/image.php?image=imagescdn.tweaktown.com/news/5/1/51038_1_ubisoft-even-more-serious-cheaters-rainbow-six-siege_full.jpg)

To help to prevent cheating on the scale that it already seems to exist, they're implementing new algorithms to identify cheaters. That algorithm looks at how you play, where you aim compared to where the bullet seems to strike and so on. They're becoming much more strict in their effort. And if you've been identified as a cheater mid-game, you're immediately pulled from the game and given a temporary suspension. There's no word whether punishments will become worse as more instances are found, or if there's the possibility of banning you from the game completely.

Cheating is an issue in any kind of game but games of a competitive nature that have a rank structure attract more due to the want, or perceived need, to be the absolute highest even with the absence of skill. And of course, that can potentially ruin the game for others, who want to play it within their skill level amongst those that are like-minded. It can be incredibly frustrating playing against those that are using assistance. It's a bit easier to be more strict with Rainbow Six Siege being purely a multiplayer competitive experience. It's great to see them wield that ban-hammer a bit more surely.

Rainbow Six Siege is having a free weekend on Steam (http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/rainbow-six-siege-is-having-a-free-weekend-on-steam/)

If you’re in need of a new multiplayer shooter this weekend then Steam has you covered as Rainbow Six Siege will be free to play for the next few days. The team-focussed tactical shooter originally launched in December to a fairly positive reception.
As with other Steam free weekends, the game will be available from today (Friday) until late on Sunday afternoon here in the UK. The game is fully playable on both Steam and uPlay but if you decide to pick up the game, it is also selling for 33 percent off, so you can grab it for £27.
http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/xrainbow-six-siege.jpg.pagespeed.ic.i-lCn3S-lA.jpg (http://www.kitguru.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/rainbow-six-siege.jpg)
The gold edition, which includes the base game and season pass, is also on sale for £33. This will get you quicker access to new operators, without having to spend renown points to unlock them. Any player progression you make over the free weekend will carry over if you decide to buy the game as well so you won’t have to waste time starting over from square one.

Rainbow Six Siege Y4S1 Burnt Horizon release times
For starters, the update will go live today on all platforms following one hour of maintenance that kicks off at the times below:

PC: 6am PT, 9am ET, 2pm UK
PS4: 7am PT, 10am ET, 3pm UK
Xbox One: 8am PT, 11am ET, 4pm UK

Rainbow Six Siege Y4S1 Burnt Horizon download size
All players will be required to essentially re-download the entire game, making for a much larger patch than usual. Ubisoft said this is necessary to rearrange the file structure, which will result in a smaller install size overall after taking the patch.

On PC, you’re looking at a 54GB download, compared to 33GB on PS4, and 38GBon Xbox One. When that’s done, Rainbow Six Siege will take up 60GB of space on PC instead of 79GB. On PS4, that’s 65GB down to 40GB, and 75GB to 41GB on Xbox One.

Chat Symbol Exploit Ban Wave on 7/10 (https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/cb90um/chat_symbol_exploit_ban_wave_on_710/)

Beginning tomorrow, we will initiate a ban wave in accordance with the following section from the Code of Conduct (https://Rainbow6.com/CodeOfConduct).

FORBIDDEN CONDUCT:
The following actions violate the Code of Conduct, and can lead to disciplinary action in accordance with the Disciplinary Policy outlined below.
Any conduct which interrupts the general flow of Gameplay in the Game client, forum, or any other Ubisoft medium.
These bans are targeting players that abused the chat symbol exploit to crash matches. They will have varying lengths, depending on the frequency and severity of the exploit's usage.

This is our next step towards sanctioning players that knowingly and deliberately take advantage of exploits to the detriment of the overall match.

É bom ver a Ubisoft a dar bans a este tipo de jogadores que apenas prejudicam quem quer jogar.
