The Witcher 3 sees a huge 14 minute gameplay video released

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was delayed recently, all the way through to May 19. But the developer behind the open-world title, CD Projekt Red, has allowed some of the media to play the game, and release some really eye-opening videos.

As you can see above, the game looks delicious as we all expected, with some truly great graphics. The world is absolutely mammoth in size, and so to is the level of detail in both the world, and the conversations with NPCs.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is scheduled for launch on May 19 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The Witcher 3 on PCs blows away PS4 and Xbox One versions

While CD Projekt Red may have delayed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 19, we're finding out more information on the game thanks to various members of the press playing with the latest build of the open-world title.

The developer has revealed that the most recent build of The Witcher 3 is running at 1080p on the PS4 while the Xbox One version is knocked down to 900p on the Xbox One, which is the least impressive version of the game against the PS4 and PC. The Witcher 3 on the PS4 is running at 1080p at 30FPS with higher fidelity graphics than the Xbox One version, even though it's been knocked down to 900p.

What's more interesting is that gaming industry insider 'shinobi602' reporting that the PCs that CD Projekt Red had setup with The Witcher 3 were "specced to consoles" or whatever that means.

The Witcher 3’s Latest Build Runs at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One – Off-Screen PC vs PS4 vs Xbox One Comparison Revealed

CD Projekt RED’s upcoming installment in the most critically acclaimed action role-playing video game series is still months away from hitting the shelves for PC and the latest video game console, though, the developer is well-known for keeping its fan up-to-date with the development progress and in-game media content of the game. In the wake of recent The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt preview event, it is being reported that while the latest build of the game was running at full HD 1080p resolution on the PlayStation 4 console, the Xbox One version was running at 900p and was least impressive of all the three versions.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Has Slightly Sharper Texture Quality on the PS4 than Xbox One – PC Version Running on High Settings Outshines Console Versions

CD Projekt RED recently held a preview event for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and invited gaming publications and online reporters to test the current build of the game running on the latest PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles and PC. According to the details shared by a German video game magazine, namely GameStar, the upcoming highly anticipated RPG ran at full HD 1080p resolution on the PlayStation 4 console and at 900p resolution on the Xbox One during the event. After previewing all three versions of the game, the magazine gave its final verdict as: “PC>PS4>Xbox One.”
Describing how the game currently looks like on all three platforms, the publication stated that running at full HD resolution with 30 frames per second, the PlayStation 4 version of the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features slightly sharper texture detail than the Xbox One version, but PC, running the game on “high” settings, outshines both consoles by providing slightly sharper texture detail compared to the PlayStation 4 version. The development team at CD Projekt RED is still working to raise the resolution of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt from 900p to 1080p on the Xbox One, however, nothing can be said for sure at this time.
Here is the English translation of what GameStar had to say after previewing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on all three platforms:
“In the duel console PlayStation 4, meanwhile, has clearly ahead of the graph. Although the textures are a bit more blurred than “high” PC details that falls within the normal TV-distance but hardly noticeable. In addition, the witcher adventure runs on the PS4 in 1080p – but only at 30 frames per second, which did not bother us.”
“On the Xbox One Geralt goes also with 30 fps on monster hunt, but only in 900p, the textures also seen slightly more washed out than on the PS4. However, polishes CD Projekt own words yet on the Xbox version, maybe you can still screw up to 1080p, but you would not promise anything. Stand now is the PS4 image the sharper and stronger color.”
In addition, appreciating CD Projekt RED for putting everything on the front end for publications to check out, shinobi602, a well-known industry insider tweeted that those who attended The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt preview event clearly saw the difference between in resolution and textures between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. He also shared an off-screen PC vs PlayStation 4 vs Xbox One comparison image of the game, which is the courtesy of the same magazine that provided the aforementioned details.

CD Projekt RED to Release 16 Free DLC Packs for Witcher 3

Taking a stance against the “steeply-priced” DLC economy, Marcin Iwiński, CEO of game studio CD Projekt RED, has announced that the company is releasing 16 DLC packs for Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, absolutely free. Iwiński says of gamers, “We owe them.”
In an interview with IGN, Iwiński said, “We aren’t giving tens of hours of storyline here, we are giving small bits of pieces that don’t cost a lot, and I think people would feel better about our game, and so they will enjoy the adventure even more.”
Iwiński hopes the gesture will also help to deter piracy, saying, “Maybe the ones who thought about pirating would not pirate it. Maybe the ones who wanted to trade it back and get something else will keep it on the shelf. That’d be great, and if not that’s fine as well. I hope they’ll have fun.”

The Witcher 3 may include permadeath ‘insanity’ game mode

CD Projekt Red is apparently contemplating adding a permadeath ‘insanity’ difficulty level to its upcoming open-world RPG, The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, which was recently delayed from February to May this year. During a recent live stream, the developers said that they couldn’t reveal too much.
Since the game is still in development, the developers couldn’t give away too many details while showing off new game footage on Twitch this week. However, they did confirm that they are considering adding in an “insanity” difficulty option, which could include permanent deaths, wiping the save file when you die.

This is all talk for now though, nothing is finalized, the idea may be dropped considering that the game was supposed to be feature complete at this point, with the next few months being spent on eliminating bugs rather than new content. However, if feedback is positive, CD Projekt Red may well include this game mode with the final product.
The Witcher 2 also had an elevated ‘insane’ difficulty level, which punished players for dying but did not feature permanent deaths.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is due to release on the 19th of May for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is Not Safe For Work

Okay, that's gonna boost sales The Guardian reports that he Witcher 3: Wild Hunt contains 16 hours (!) of sex scene motion capture data. But the development team behind forthcoming fantasy adventure title The Witcher: Wild Hunt seems unfazed by either moral or technical concerns.
The game, due for release in May, contains sex scenes constructed from over 16 hours of motion capture data. There is a Hugh Hefnerian amount of lovemaking. It comes quickly, too. Within the first 15 seconds the camera droops to linger on a woman's fulsome posterior, moments after dismounting the protagonist, the white-haired monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia.
"People might think we're putting sex into the opening scene for no good reason," explains senior game designer Damien Monhier. "No, no, no. We are establishing that your character was intimate with this woman recently in order to plant in your mind that, at very least, he must enjoy her company." In subsequent moments we see the pair gently flirt in an atmosphere of easy-going post-coital familiarity. Their secrets have been spilled and now, as she freshens at the mirror and he tousles her hair, a deeper affection between the characters is established.
"Through sex we have shown that this is a person who Geralt would be compelled to chase after if she went missing," says Monheir. Five minutes later, the drama shunts into the future, a time when the woman, Yennefer, has disappeared. Your goal as lovelorn Geralt (accompanied by an older witcher named Vesemir) is to track her across the Skellige Islands. "Sex is the quickest way in which to establish the relationship and provide a justification for the player to pursue this woman," he continues. "We couldn't just tell you to go find someone you don't know or care about. It wouldn't work."
In Witcher 3 related news, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will run 30fps at 1080p on PlayStation 4 and 30fps at 900p on Xbox One. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes out on May 19.

Os gajos da CD Projekt já vieram a público afirmar que essa história das 16 horas é falso.
Sim, o jogo vai ter cenas de sexo, como o Witcher 2, mas não é assim tanto.

Witcher 3 is a massive game, will require 50GB on PS4, Xbox One

CDProjekt RED has confirmed The Witcher 3 will need almost 50GB of space for installation on the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One game consoles. Exact figures weren't specified, but the studio told GameSpot around 50GB is an accurate estimate.

Earlier released PC specifications for The Witcher 3 revealed around 40GB of HDD space would be necessary - a massive file size for gaming consoles. There are a few games that require 40GB or more of space, but it's far less common for console games, however, that seems to be changing.

CDProjekt RED plans to release The Witcher 3 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 19 later this year.

The Witcher 3’s Recommended Specs are Only for Mid-High Settings at 1080p – PS4 Version Currently Suffers from FPS Drops and Bugs

After several delays, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s release stands more than three months away, but the hype for the third and concluding installment in one of the best action role-playing video game series is only growing huge. CD Projekt RED is currently working to eliminate optimization issues that are affecting the PC and console versions of the game, and to finalize and polish the game’s vast open world, to view which in all its glory at ultra settings on PC, you will need more than what the recommended system requirements of the game suggested.

Players Will Need More Than the Recommended Hardware to Max Out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC – PlayStation 4 Version Needs More Optimization

Now that the development work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is almost complete, and it is only the optimization and elimination of bugs and glitches that is currently in progress, CD Projekt RED is showing off the game to the eagerly awaiting fans. The developer recently conducted a preview event for the game, allowing gaming publications and online reporters to test the current build of the game running on PC and the latest PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. Previews of the game suggest that the new installment in the most critically acclaimed RPG series is turning out to be great, however there are some optimization issues that need to be resolved.
Poland based games publication known as Witchersite also got a chance to preview the game, and it recently published a huge hands-on impressions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt running on PC and the PlayStation 4 console. The preview comes to light with a word count of well over 58000, and it reveals a truckload of new information about the two of the three versions of the game. If you are interested in going through the preview, you can check it out in English on CD Projekt RED’s forums, courtesy of user gregksi.

According to the report, the recommended PC hardware for the game won’t allow players to run it on ultra settings, meaning players will need more horsepower to max out the game and play it with all the graphical features enabled. When asked whether players would be able to max out the game with the recommended hardware, CD Projekt RED told Witchersite that the recommended specifications are only for playing the game on mid-high settings in 1080p.
“No, recommended specs are supposed to let you play on mid-high settings in 1920×1080(Full HD)”
The author mentioned that it is quite hard to describe graphical settings of the console versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as there are many similarities between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. According to him, in some places during the gameplay, players might notice that the developer had to make some compromises to keep the game balanced, but there are scenes that will knock players over with mind-boggling visuals.
The report suggests that the despite being perfect in several aspects, the PlayStation 4 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt suffers from slight frame rate drops, as well as texture pop-in issues that usually appear when the quick action sequence is initiated after a cutscene. But of course, for all that, the game is still being polished and optimized for the latest platforms, and the developer itself asserts that there is still a lot that needs to be fixed and put in place before the final release date. Currently, the game is fully playable on the PlayStation 4, but for real smooth gameplay experience, a little more optimization is required.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year on May 19.

The Witcher 3: “Dark Difficulty” is What CD Projekt Red Aiming For

Earlier, Electronic Arts’ chief creative officer Richard Hilleman claimed that some of it’s games are still too hard for players to play claiming that during an on-stage interview at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas “Our games are actually still too hard to learn, The average player probably spends two hours to learn how to play the most basic game.” While some are claiming that games nowadays are too hard for the average or occasional player to play, CD Projekt Red simply won’t decrease the difficulty level because of that. With the hallmarks and the legacy of a blockbuster game, Witcher 3 is a punishing game with increased difficulty level than the ordinary game.

Players Will Really Have To Struggle Towards The End of Witcher 3

In an interview with VG24/7, Philipp Weber, the quest designer of Witcher 3 revealed that at the default ‘Normal’ difficulty, the game should be a challenge, adding that “Usually normal is easy, and easy is – well, you can be on your phone while playing.”. And it’s not that CD Projekt Red doesn’t want you to play the game, its just that it wants to separate the boys with the men of gaming, adding that “We want it to be easy to learn but hard to master.”
Commenting on the gameplay of Witcher 3, Weber added that the game has stages to it where it is not that hard in the beginning so those new to the gameplay can learn easily but as the game progresses you get really challenged in all aspects. So it’s basically a staged increase in difficulty level which is a good idea given that new people will be able to enjoy the game as much as the former fans.
He said, “Right in the beginning you will have that big screen [of stats], but you will not have that many options. I think you always know what different things you can do.”

“It’s the same with the difficulty – there’s a nice curve. It gets more difficult the more you progress in the game, but also you will learn more and more things.”
“I don’t think we actually throw that much different stuff on you at the same time, so you’d have to read about it – it works pretty naturally.”
And it did not end on that note, Weber just had to make the game all spooky at the end saying that the Witcher 3 team realised that dark gaming is fun when it is challenging and people are very passionate about games that keep them on the edge of their seats, saying that “Dark difficulty is something that many people in the company are very passionate about, Because they want a real challenge. If you die five minutes before the ending, it’s over. There are actually people who have already done it,” he added.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a game designed especially for the above-average and the hardcore gamer. So, don’t expect it to be another dark game which isn’t actually quite that dark. CD Projekt Red will make sure you die several times before you learn the mechanics and the gameplay for it’s upcoming Witcher 3.

The Witcher 3: What Dangers Does it Hold?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most hotly-anticipated titles of the year. The amount of detail that developer CD Project RED has put into its breathtakingly beautiful world is extraordinary. The inspired locales vary from forests and mountains to perilous monster infested waters.

Each different region has its own special species of monsters in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Jonas Mattsson confirmed in an interview to the Examiner that the in-game creatures will have homes that make logical sense, even though The Witcher 3 is set in a fantastical world. “Some of them are in thin air, some are in caves, some are in the fog, some are in swamps.
“As an artist, I’m pleased we have all these mountains with views, then when you go down to the valley there are streams with bears trying to catch fish. When you go into the forest, there are wolves attacking, so most of the time, you will get a different type of monster no matter where you go.”
“You have to be careful with the weather because when it is stormy you really do not want to go out onto open water. It will be difficult to navigate and so on. There are harpies that try to attack you and shred your sails,” Mattsson said.
The Witcher 3, is shaping up to be one of 2015’s must have titles and based on the hands on showing it had, it delivered on all three platforms. The most visually striking of the three, was understandably the PC version, which featured a sharper image quality and some more detailed textures. The PlayStation 4 version came in a close second, with slightly lower image quality and the Xbox One version with relatively even lower. No matter your platform though, The Witcher 3 will provide incredibly detailed worlds, with genre leading visual quality and countless hours of RPG goodness.

I have really enjoyed the previous titles in The Witcher saga and I am looking forward to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and I’m certain that it will not disappoint. You can rest assured that if any more information comes to light before its release, we will make sure, that we bring it to you. CD Projekt RED is preparing to release The Witcher 3 on May 19 and it will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Hope that everything goes smoothly and we finally get to experience Geralt’s latest adventure and spend hours upon hours exploring its vast and inspired fantasy world.
