Microsoft Flight Simulator: X coming soon to Steam
Noticia completa:Dovetail games has announced its plan to release “Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition” on Steam on 18th December, finally bringing the much loved franchise to Valve’s distribution platform, along with some promised DLC next year.
Microsoft Flight Simulator X was first released in 2006, and at the time it seemed that nothing could beat it in terms of simulation fidelity and graphical prowess. But unfortunately in 2009 the Microsoft studio developing the Flight Simulator games, ACES Studio, was closed due to company wide job cuts at Microsoft and the franchise that had existed since 1982 was finished.
In 2012 Microsoft released “Microsoft Flight” as a free to play game, but unfortunately this wasn’t really a simulation, and with little interest, development of this reboot ceased later that year
Thankfully Dovetail Games has now been granted the rights to continue development of the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise and resurrect it with a proper sequel for FS:X which is currently under development. As part of the agreement with Microsoft, Dovetail is releasing FS:X on Steam with a few enhancements, such as updated multiplayer (presumably using Steamworks, Steam’s backend multiplayer system), Windows 8.1 support and 24,00 airports.

Steam Winter sale to kick off on December 18th
Noticia:Gamers, its time to prepare your wallets as the Steam winter sale is coming next week on the 18th of December. Things will kick off at 6pm GMT and will run all the way until the 2nd of January 2015.
The news started making the rounds earlier today when a few Japanese PayPal users received emails about the sale start date. A Reddit user then went on to share their email, revealing that Valve was planning to kick off its last sale of the year on the 18th of December, which is next Thursday.
Eurogamer notes that it has been able to verify that this is in-fact the correct start and end date for the sale.
Remember to shop around a bit though, if Valve is having a sale then you can bet that other sites like Green Man Gaming will also be cutting prices across the board.

Valve shuts down holiday auction following exploits
Noticia completa:Valve opened up its new Steam Holiday Auction system earlier today and swiftly had to shut it back down after users discovered an exploit in the system. The auction is designed to let users recycle community items in their inventory in order to receive gems to bid on Steam games.
However, it didn’t take long for people to discover an exploit to obtain huge amounts of gems, causing Valve to close down the auction. The auction system lets you place bids on a pre-set list of titles, the highest bidder wins the game at the end of each round.
A new round of bidding starts every 45 minutes until the very last round on the 18th of December. 100 copies of nearly two thousand games were up for auction, this means by the time the last round ended, Valve will have given away 200,000 games.
As you can see, some people are able to obtain vast gem collections very quickly. Image source: Imgur
You need gems to bid on games. To get gems you need to recycle Steam community items such as Trading Cards, backgrounds, emoticons, Dota 2 items, Team Fortress 2 hats and such. Valve had to shut down the bidding and left the following message:
“Sorry, but there have been some issues with Gems and the Steam Holiday Auction has been temporarily closed. The elves are working frantically to get the issues sorted out, and the auction will start again as soon as they’re done.”
