With Samsung’s and HTC’s MWC releases behind us, its time for Apple to start making the news again. The Cupertino company will be holding its next event in
just 4 days and its expected to focus on the much anticipated Apple Watch, Apple’s first foray in the wearables market. While rumors are abound that the 13 inch MacBook Pro might also be making an appearance at the 4th, there’s nothing to confirm such speculation so far. Several details about this year’s 13 inch MacBook Air have leaked, including different processor variants, storage and more.
13 Inch MacBook Air Specs Leak Ahead Of Apple’s Event Next Week As expected, Apple’s refresh of the MacBook lineup will be coming with Intel’s Broadwell, which itself has been facing considerable delays over the past. The lowest iteration of the 13 inch MacBook Air will be coming with Core 1.6GHz i5-5250U processor. Graphics, as can be seen above, will be Intel’s built-in Intel HD 6000 with 1536 MB of memory. The second iteration of the notebook will be coming with the same processor, and RAM at 4GB. The only difference between the two will be on board storage, that stands at 256 GB of SSD storage, as compared to 128 GB on the earlier.
The higher end 13 inch MacBook Air will be coming with Intel’s Core i7-5650U 2.2GHz processor on board, which will be supplemented with 8GB of RAM on board. Storage also receives an upgrade, with the Core i7 variant of the MacBook coming with 512 GB of storage. Screen resolution for the Macbooks will stand at 1440 x 900 with battery life expected to be similar to the current lineup. The
source of this information suggests that the refresh can be expected to make an appearance at the Apple Watch event next week. What interests us more is whether there will be any word about the 12 inch, Retina MacBook Air, that Apple’s rumored to have in the works for quite a while now.
The 12 inch Retina MacBook Air is expected to be a
complete design overhaul of the popular MacBook Air and is expected to minimize space while keeping the basic requirements of a notebook in mind. Sources expect the notebook to make an appearance at the Apple Watch event, so all eyes on the 9th now, to see how Apple chooses to set the pace for this year. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated.
