Uma empresa como a Sony a pedir ajuda? Bem, ao ponto que isto chegou. Software na mesma linha que Sony, é um grande erro.

Sony movies hit the web before cinema following hack

The hacking situation keeps getting worse for Sony Pictures as now DVD quality copies of four movies, three of which have yet to hit the cinema, have leaked online. High quality copies of Fury, Annie, Still Alice and Mr. Turner have all become available via torrent sites. These copies are watermarked, suggesting that they may have been DVD screeners, which are often used for promotional purposes. According to TorrentFreak, Fury, the only movie to have already released at box office, is by far the most popular of the leaked films. A Sony spokesperson didn’t confirm the leak but did say that there had been a theft.
“The theft of Sony Pictures Entertainment content is a criminal matter, and we are working closely with law enforcement to address it.”

It is very likely that these leaks have something to do with the hacking group, GOP, which attacked Sony Pictures’ internal systems last week. The identity of GOP and the reasoning for the hack hasn’t been officially revealed but rumor has it that North Korea is behind the whole thing in an effort to stop the release of ‘The Interview’, a Seth Rogen comedy in which the CIA orders the assassination of Kim Jong-Un.
Sources speaking with Recode said that a link between North Korea and the hack are currently being investigated. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

New evidence suggests that North Korea is behind Sony hack

New evidence is suggesting that North Korea may have some involvement in the attack on Sony Pictures last week, which saw the company’s internal systems taken down and its top secret files stolen. Additionally, three Sony movies that have yet to hit the cinema were all leaked on to piracy sites in DVD quality.
So far, we’ve only known the group behind the attack as GOP but The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that researchers investigating the malicious code have found it to be almost the same as the code used back in March 2013 when South Korean banks were attacked. It was never proven that North Korea was behind the attacks but it is widely believed to be true.

Rumors began suggesting that North Korea had some involvement in the hack due to Sony’s upcoming movie, ‘The Interview’, in which the CIA orders the assassination of Kim Jong-Un. If a link between North Korea and the hackers can be established then this would mark the first time that a foreign power has attacked a Hollywood studio and taken an active interest in piracy.

Sony to confirm North Korea as source of hack this week

It looks like Sony’s investigation in to the attack on its internal systems last week is coming to a close as the company is reportedly preparing to officially name North Korea as the source of the attack.
Sources close to the investigation have said to news site, Re/code, that the company is still finalizing exactly how much information to make public but an announcement is expected as soon as today. The attack took place last week, taking down Sony’s office computers, a long list of secret files were also leaked, containing social security numbers and other sensitive employee documents.

The impending announcement will be the first public acknowledgement of possible North Korean ties to the hack, it will also be the first time that Sony has gone in to detail on what has been going on behind the scenes.

FBI issues warning over disk-wiping malware used in Sony hack

The Sony Pictures hack has had an immediate impact in the form of several soon-to-be-released movies popping up on torrents, and Sony's employee personal records and passwords have also been leaked. Sony has been placed into a lockdown of sorts, and employees are not being allowed to login to their computers. The long-term effects may be even more devastating, as the FBI is warning that the malware used to execute the Sony attack is on the loose. The FBI's five-page flash warning was issued to major US corporations on Monday. The malware was specifically created to attack Sony, but other hackers often modify existing malware for their own purposes. There is an increasing threat of hackers creating a large number of mutations now that the exceptionally virulent bug is on the loose.

The nefarious bug not only steals data, but it also eventually overwrites all information on the storage device. This is particularly devastating. Once overwritten, the data is almost surely unrecoverable. The malware even overwrites the Windows master boot record (MBR), which makes any hope of salvaging data even harder. The warning from the FBI is targeted at businesses, but as with any malware, it will soon trickle out to the wider world at large. Nation-state developed malware is on the rise as shadowy global cyber-warfare campaigns continue unabated. Nations have many more resources at their disposal to create these electronic arms of mass destruction, but completely ignore the fact that these sophisticated hacks eventually spread to the public.

Sony Pictures leak reveals passwords, certificates

Things appear to be getting worse for Sony Pictures with regard its recent data breach, with additional files being leaked including encryption certificates, passwords and employees' personal data.

The company fell victim to a data breach by a group calling itself GOP, or Guardians of Peace, late last month. While the group claimed to have made demands of the company with the threat of the stolen data being published, the exact nature of these demands has yet to be made public - although that hasn't stopped the rumour-mill calling it everything from an insider job seeking cash to claims that Sony was to issue a statement denouncing the attack as a North Korean protest against an upcoming film - a claim Sony says is untrue. The attack is claimed to have effectively shut down Sony Picture's entire network, and led to the leaking of unreleased films earlier this week.

To have its unreleased films put on file-sharing sites is bad news for Sony, but reports indicate things are getting worse. The Next Web has published files shared by an anonymous individual claiming to be 'the boss of GOP' which appear to include username and password details for its internal servers, social media accounts, and even encryption certificates and their private keys. An internal memo obtained by newswire AFP and published in part by The Guardian confirmed that 'a large amount of confidential Sony Pictures Entertainment data has been stolen by the cyberattackers, including personnel information and business documents,' calling the breach and subsequent leaks 'malicious criminal acts.' So far, the attackers have leaked only around 50GB of a claimed 100TB trove of data.

    North Korea Denies Hacking Sony

There you have it, a diplomat from North Korea has officially denied any involvement in the attack on Sony. It kinda makes sense though, wouldn't your people need stuff like electricity and computers in order to hack anything?

"My country publicly declared that it would follow international norms banning hacking and piracy," the diplomat said. The denial from North Korea regarding the Sony hacking came despite sources telling Reuters that cyber investigators had found connections to North Korea in the form of hacking tools similar to those used by that country in previous attacks on South Korea.

Sony Hack Exposed 47K Social Security Numbers Including Sylvester Stallone, Judd Apatow

Sony Pictures Entertainment is not getting a break from the security break it experienced last month that resulted in Sony shutting down its computers. In the aftermath of the attack, the hackers, called Guardians of Peace, released a set of documents that included around 47,000 Social Security numbers for actors as well as current and former employees.
The Wall Street Journal reviewed the leaked documents and discovered social security numbers for thousands of freelancers as well as current and former employees. SSNs were also found for Hollywood actors who have appeared in movies and TV shows, produced by Sony, which includes Sylvester Stallone, Judd Apatow, and Rebel Wilson.

Data-security firm Identity Finder LLC also analyzed 33,000 Sony documents and discovered personal data, which includes salaries and home addresses, for people who had stopped working at Sony Pictures all the way back from 2000 and even one person who had started working for the company back in 1955. The information was gleaned from Microsoft Excel files that were posted online by #GOP.
But in addition to the SSNs for actors and employees, Identity Finder discovered more than 1.1 million Social Security numbers though many of them were duplicates since there were multiple copies of the data.
"When you have multiple copies of this data, you are giving hackers multiple opportunities to steal sensitive information when they get through," said Identity Finder CEO Todd Feinman. "If Sony had reduced its sensitive data footprint by reducing the number of copies of data and reducing the number of employees with access to the data, we would have seen zero or only one file."

Sony hackers threaten employees' families through e-mails

Sony is not having a good week, with the hacking scandal reaching Sony Pictures Entertainment employees, and their families. Employees of the company have received e-mails from these hackers, directly threatening their families. Sony has reportedly told these employees to turn off their smartphones after receiving the e-mail.

It has been two weeks since the company was hacked, with hackers releasing passwords, e-mails, details on cast and crew members of Sony's productions, business documents that included salaries, and media files from employees' computers, and much more. A poorly-written e-mail was sent to Sony Pictures Entertainment employees, saying: "Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below. If you don't, not only you but your family will be in danger".

The "Guardians of the Peace", or GOP, are the hackers behind the scandal, but we don't know their identities yet. North Korea has been a suspect for a while now, with the malware that broke into Sony's network looking like malware used in an attack in Seoul last year, as well as the Shamoon "wiper" malware.

North Korea says its supporters could be behind Sony cyberattack

Pro-North Korean hackers could be responsible for a cyberattack that crippled Sony Pictures, according to a statement broadcasted on a state-run television channel. The successful breach will likely cost SPE millions from interrupted business operations, data theft, and screener versions of the movie that have leaked online.

The KCNA news agency said that the "hacking into Sony Pictures Entertainment might be a righteous deed of the supporters and sympathizers with the DPRK in response to its appeal."

Sony hackers have reportedly been traced back to a hotel in Bangkok

The hack against Sony has been all over the news for a couple of weeks now, but it has reportedly all been tracked back to a single, posh hotel in Bangkok. North Korea has stepped up saying that it was not responsible for the hack, which had people thinking the country had attacked Sony over its movie "The Interview" with Seth Rogen and James Franco.

The hackers were traced back to St. Regis Bangkok, which is a 4.5-star resort where even the most basic rooms cost over $400 per night. We don't know if the hack was done from inside of one of these hotels, or outside in a public area of the hotel, but we do know they came from the St. Regis Bangkok. The investigations into the breach of Sony Pictures Entertainment servers took place on December 2, at 12:25AM local time.

E mais um pouco vão todos de cana. Boa sorte aos hackers, vão precisar dela. Mas mesmo essa sorte duvido que chegue para os safar de serem apanhados.
