Apple’s Not As Excited About The iPad Pro As Company Starts To Place Orders

Even though all that we’ve been hearing over the past couple of days in Apple world is news and speculation surrounding the upcoming iPhone 6S Duo, Apple’s has another product in the pipeline for quite a while now. The 12.9 inch iPad Pro has been long rumored by a lot of quarters, and is expected to be Apple’s first leap into the larger screen size tablet markets. Until now we’ve seen Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineup and Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup be among the few top tier choices that customers have and now, Apple seems to be ready to make the jump as well.

Apple Starts To Place Orders For The 12.9 Inch iPad Pro – In Limited Quantities

For all the iPad fans out there, today brings some good news as some of Apple’s supply chain sources are now claiming that the Cupertino tech giant has already started to place orders for its large screen slate. But, Apple does not feel as confident in its tablet, as it does in the upcoming iPhone 6S launches. Reportedly, even though the company has placed orders for the iPad Pro with its suppliers, these are in limited quantity, and reflect a pessimistic expectation of sales on Apple’s behalf.

Apple’s supply chain is expected to start mass production of the iPad sometime in mid-September, which should follow in schedule for a November launch. All of this stands in line with earlier news that we’ve been hearing about the iPad Pro’s launch dates, but any exact specifications regarding the larger tablet are yet to be known. We’ve seen a couple of renders and some details leak here and there, but nothing concrete has managed to surface so far.
The 12.9 inch iPad Pro is expected to come with a stylus to help users navigate its much larger screen, which will be a first timer in Apple history. Stereo speakers, a higher screen resolution, coupled with chipset and memory upgrades are some of the other features expected on it. But we’d wait on more news to surface before anything’s taken as a confirmation. Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

The iPad Pro To Come Mid Fall With Customized Force Touch Stylus

Apple’s larger screened iPad Pro is one device that never fails to pop up in the rumor mill. We’ve been hearing about the larger screened slate from Cupertino for quite a while now, and while there’s nothing certain about its launch date as of now, there’s still been a lot of information that has surfaced about its specifications and features. Today, KGI Ming Chu Kuo, known for his insight into all things Apple has once again spoken up about the iPad Pro.

Apple’s iPad Pro To Come With Specially Designed Custom Stylus On Board

The iPad Pro is expected to come with a screen size of 12 – 12.9 inches, through which Apple is expected to cater towards more professional users, who require much more out of their tablets apart from multimedia and entertainment. Now, 9to5Mac reports, that according to Kuo, Apple’s looking to not only introduce a stylus with the iPad Pro, but also to integrate Force Touch into the accessory, to make it more responsive to on screen commands.
A stylus on the iPad Pro won’t be an accessory, but a much needed component according to Kuo, as a larger screen, with Force Touch will result in lesser yield rates and therefore require an additional accessory to make things function smoothly. Also, according to today’s information the larger iPad is expected to sell 5.5 million units this year, which isn’t a modest figure at all, given that less than two months will be left in 2015’s end when Apple’s expected to launch the device.

Kuo further believes that Apple’s gauged the market response to Force Touch on the MacBook and Apple Watch quite well and doesn’t expect the feature it self to be a big seller. According to him, manufacturer Cheng Uei will be getting exclusive orders for the iPad Pro’s stylus, and Apple won’t be launching the larger screened tablet anytime soon.
While we weren’t expecting either the iPad Air 3 or the iPad Pro this year from Apple, with rumors already claiming that the company is looking to breathe new life into the iPad Mini series this year, with the iPad Mini 4, Kuo’s claims end up further prolonging the expected date of an Apple device that has been in the rumor mill for nearly a year now.
The company is expected to enter mass production for the iPad Pro in October, so if we’re lucky then we just might get to see it this November. But that’s a big if for now and Apple’s already got a big iPhone 6s launch event lined up already. So lets see how this unfolds. Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

The iPad Pro Enters Testing As Device Spotted In App Analytics

As we head into fall 2015, several Apple devices have been gracing the rumor mill with their presence over the past couple of days. Well, mostly its been about the iPhone 6s duo, which is expected to be unveiled by Apple in just more than two weeks. The iPhone 6s has seen nearly every aspect leak over the past couple of months, but today, it seems to be another Apple device’s turn, which has been a part of the rumor mill for nearly a year. The 12.9 inch iPad Pro has been long rumored to be under the works, and its the second time the device is getting mentioned today.

Apple’s iPad Pro Gets Spotted In App Data From Commercial iOS Apps

Now, after we heard KGI Ming Chi Kuo speak up about the iPad Pro just an hour back, AppleInsider’s claiming to have gotten some information about having spotted the fabled Apple device in some app data. According to the publication, folks over at Appsee have spotted an all new Apple iPad in their user logs today. The iPad, labelled as ‘iPad6,8′ should most likely be the iPad Pro, since the iPad Air 2 gets identified as iPad 5,3 and iPad 5,4 for Wi-Fi and Cellular respectively.

More importantly, the iPad 6,8 comes with a larger 2732 x 2048 pixels, which should fit a larger screened, as we’d say such a resolution on another talked about Apple device, the iPad Mini 4 would be an overkill, especially coming from Apple’s end. We’ve already spotted similar resolutions in iOS 9’s developer logs as well, so in all likelihood, Apple’s started to test out its larger slate.
The iPad Pro is expected to come with a 12.9 inch screen, stereo speakers, an upgraded processor (A9X?) and an all new customized stylus that would give users more control over their commands and fit in nicely with Force Touch as well. Force Touch seems to be the latest talk in Apple town, with the Cupertino designer expected to upgrade all of its devices to the haptic feedback mechanism. Stay tune for more and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Chief Display Supplier For iPad Pro Revealed; It’s Not LG Or Samsung

Apple will not be utilizing Samsung’s or LG’s displays for the bulk quantity of its 12.9 inch iPad Pro. Instead, the tech giant will be incorporating majority of them from Sharp, while a small percentage of those displays will be coming from the aforementioned South Korean tech firms. iPad Pro is expected to be officially announced before 2015 has drawn to a close.

Foxconn And Its Subsidiary Will Be Supplying Other Components To Apple’s iPad Pro

According to a report from DigiTimes, in addition to using Sharp’s displays to be incorporated on to iPad Pro, Cupertino tech company Apple will also be using touch modules from GIS (General Interface Solution), which happens to be subsidiary of Apple’s chief device assembler, Foxconn. The source states that apart from touch modules, GIS will also be responsible for lamination and assimilating liquid crystal modules.

One of the reasons why Sharp was chosen to be Apple’s chief supplier of displays was because of its close relationship with the firm and Foxconn. As for when iPad Pro will be available, it is expected that the product will go in to mass production during the fourth quarter of 2015, with total shipments reaching between 4-5 million during this quarter. Analysts have not predicted that amount of popularity the large screen slate will be able to garner during the start of 2016, but with the imminent release of Surface Pro 4, it will be an uphill battle for iPad Pro.
As for the hardware specifications, it is expected that iPad Pro will be housing Apple’s A9X SoC, which will deliver far more performance compared to A8X, the SoC that is present in the company’s flagship slate, iPad Air 2. While pricing details of the product are yet to be detailed, we do know that iPad Pro will be bundled with a customized Force Touch stylus.
Will iPad Pro provide notebook users with the perfect substitute? Let us know your thoughts.

    Apple goes Sharp on screens

Japanese firm breathes a sigh of relief

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth yarn that Apple's coming 12.9-inch iPad will feature displays from Sharp.

Sharp will provide Open Cell LCD displays which is good news for the Japanese outfit which has not been having a good time of it lately.
Sharp is about $5.9 billion in debt to the banks and chronically short of cash. It recently pulled out of America. Some analysts have even said that it might not be around in a few years' time.
Meanwhile Apple's long term chum Foxconn will be responsible for touch modules, lamination and LCM assembly.
The device will enter production by the end of the third quarter and go into mass production in the fourth.
Samsung Display and TPK will be secondary suppliers, with TPK responsible for touch modules and Samsung for displays as well as LCD assembly.
Analysts estimate that iPad Pro shipments will reach between 4-5 million in 2015 due to the device's fourth-quarter release. We think it will be much lower, despite the bigger screen.

Apple iPad Pro To See 30% Reduced Thickness With Oxide TFT Display

Apart from the regular 9.7-inch iPad, Apple has no other large screen tablet in the market. But the Apple iPad Pro, a mythical device with a 12.9-inch display has been in the rumor mill for nearly a year now. And while Cupertino remains as tight lipped as ever about the device, we’ve managed to gather quite a lot on the fabled tablet so far. The iPad Pro will be catering to the professional sector and will come with a custom stylus that should correspond to Apple’s very own Force Touch technology that is also expected to make the cut on the device.

Oxide TFTs The New Mantra At Apple As The iPad Pro Expected To Utilize Technology

Now, according to sources straight out of South Korea, the Oxide TFT industry in the country has started to increase production of said displays, and the feeling regarding its future is generally very optimistic. Oxide TFT has several advantages over other displays given its lower power consumption and reduced thickness, which should make it an even better contender for the iPad Pro.
What’s more is that not only the sources expect the iPad Pro to be releasing this year, but Oxide TFT will be making it to other Apple devices as well. These include Macs, more iPads and potentially other Apple devices as well. The major players in Oxide TFT right now are Samsung, LG and Sharp, with the Japanese company being the largest manufacturer of displays so far.

In order to better accommodate to Apple’s needs, the manufacturer intends to expands its production capacity even more, and given the general increase in the popularity of Oxide TFT panels it looks like all that news of the iPad Pro utilizing the advanced displays just might be true after all.
Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.

iPad Pro to Debut at Sept 9 Event with iPad mini 4 – Launch in November

Reports and rumors had strongly suggested that we won’t be seeing a new iPad releasing at the September 9 event hosted by Apple at the Bill Graham auditorium. However, seems like things are changing as new report indicates that we would be seeing the long-awaited iPad Pro along with another iPad model at this event.

Set to be one of the company’s largest events in history, it won’t just be the two new iPhones making an appearance on the stage in San Francisco. According to “trusted sources” of 9to5mac, we will also be seeing an iPad Pro and a refreshed version of the iPad mini at the event, next week. This is in high contrast with earlier reports that were adamant that even if iPad Pro does see a launch this year, it would be an exclusive event in October. However, with only a few days to the event, seems like Apple does plan on revealing the new iPad Pro this month.
Keeping up with the rumors that iPad Pro will see a launch event in October, the publication does state that while the “whispers within Apple” point to a debut of iPad Pro next week, it is possible that Apple holds it back for an early October launch. The MacBook-sized tablet is scheduled to be available in the market starting November following a pre-order campaign launching towards the end of October, confirms 9to5mac.

Apple’s iPad Pro is Apple’s first large-sized tablet focused towards business users. Taking advantage of split-screen apps of iOS 9, upgraded cameras, iPad Pro is also rumored to support a Force Touch enabled stylus. iOS 9 is also expected to bring additional tweaks to the larger tablet including optimized Notification Center. iPad mini 4, on the other hand, will be a thinner tablet than the current generation mini, sporting a faster A8 processing chip, and an improved camera.
Apple’s September 9 event will showcase a pair of new iPhones, revamped Apple TV set-top box, new bands for Apple Watch, an iPad Pro, and a refreshed iPad mini.

iPad Pro to Sport a Force Touch Screen with Stylus and Keyboard Accessories

Reports of iPad Pro debuting at the “Hey Siri” event on September 9 surprised everyone this week. Earlier, it was believed that the new iPad models will be showcased at a separate event sometime in October. As far as the MacBook-sized tablet is concerned, rumors kept suggesting that it might not come until next year. Remember, 12.9-inch iPad Pro has remained at the center of tens of rumors that have been predicting its launch since last year. Seems like Apple is finally ready to launch its first ever larger tablet for business and educational markets with fancier features like Force Touch technology and stylus.

Following up with the earlier reports of iPad Pro making a debut next week at the Bill Graham auditorium, latest reports indicate that Apple is “putting the finishing touches on a revamped iPad keyboard” which might become available by the end of this year. This latest report comes from the New York Times and just adds into the earlier reports of seeing the new iPad at the September 9 event. Folks at 9to5mac are also citing their own sources that iPad Pro will get a keyboard accessory of its own and is designed with “wider support for Bluetooth keyboard.”
12.9-inch iPad Pro will sport a Force Touch based screen, coupled with a stylus which apparently will “not look like a traditional” stylus. Building on the new pressure levels that iPad’s display will be able to recognize thanks to the Force Touch technology, enhanced drawing and designing tools will open up for the new tablet.

Citing “people close to the product,” NYT is also reporting that Apple may introduce new metal finishes for the Apple Watch that also include “a less expensive gold version.”
Apple’s media event will focus on the new iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro that will come with a Force Touch-enabled stylus, refreshed iPad mini 4, and new bands for the Apple Watch. Apple’s event this year will be one of the biggest the company has ever hosted having a focus on launching a brand new Apple TV 4 being powered by an A8 processor. Apple is also working on a successor of the iPad Air 2 but that seems to be slated for an early 2016 launch.
Apple has a wide variety of products to showcase this year on September 9. From new smartphones to new tablets and of course, iOS 9 and Apple TV. What excites you the most? Don’t forget to let us know.

iPad Pro to start shipping in November

Apple’s long rumoured iPad Pro is apparently just around the corner, with an announcement set to take place at one of Apple’s upcoming press conferences. The new tablet will sport a larger 12 inch screen, though it won’t start shipping until November, which is apparently due to the fact that Apple’s Stylus isn’t quite finished yet.
The iPad Pro display will sport a 2732×2048 resolution, with very thin bezels. It will essentially look like a bigger iPad Air, as you would probably expect.

Standout features for the new tablet will include the addition of Force Touch and a new stylus. The new line of iPhones are also expected to feature Force Touch displays, just like the Apple Watch and Macbook trackpads. According to 9to5Mac’s report, the stylus won’t look traditional either, so it will be interesting to see what the company has come up with this time.
Pre-orders for the iPad Pro will reportedly open up in October, with the first units shipping out in November. However, we don’t yet have any word on pricing. Given that it is a larger iPad Air, the price difference will likely be similar to that of the iPad Mini and the full-sized variant.

12.9-inch iPad Pro Can Run Full-Sized Apps Side By Side, Key Details Revealed

It’s been reported on a number of occasions that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro and iPad mini 4 will also see an announcement at Apple’s media event on the 9th of September. While there are a lot of details floating around already, there are some key pieces that are missing from the scene. And if today’s report has some weight, then the iPad Pro will be a beastly tablet to come out of Cupertino.

The iPad Pro Will Be A Killer Tablet For Multitasking

According to a newly published report by none other than 9to5Mac, the iPad Pro will be able to run full-sized portrait apps side by side while in multitasking mode in landscape. The key thing to note here is that the iPad Air 2 currently only supports side by side multitasking by slightly scaling down running apps, hence in that regard, the iPad Pro will be a killer device when it comes to running two apps on-screen.
Apart from the over the top multitasking features, the iPad Pro, according to sources, will ship with 64GB of on-board storage for the base model, which is something that will appeal a lot to the masses. The iPad Pro will also ship in a ‘pricier’ 128GB storage capacity, for those who want to take things up a notch.

Unlike the iPhone 6s, which is rumored to arrive in a Rose Gold color configuration, the report states that the iPad Pro will ship in three color options – Space Gray, Silver and Gold. Hence users shouldn’t hold on to their breath for a Rose Gold option just yet.

Like other iPads which Apple currently sells, the report suggests that the iPad Pro will come in LTE variants, the price for which will touch the base models of Cupertino’s MacBook range. So expect a $1,000+ price tag for the more expensive LTE laden models.
The report also suggests that the iPad Pro will run on top of an Apple A9X chip, which will be miles better than the A8X found in the current iPad Air 2. The publication also says that the tablet will start shipping out in November.
Lastly, the report touches upon the fact that the iPad Pro won’t ship with Apple’s new Force Touch enabled stylus or keyboard, and both will be sold separately as optional accessories.
These accessories will be sold separately. We’re told Apple has developed two versions of an iPad Pro keyboard attachment: one that doubles as a case and another that is more similar to the Apple Wireless Keyboard it has previously sold for Macs and iPads.
Given the amount of details we have at hand already, it would be an interesting show from Apple this time around, and we’ll be covering the event in all its glory from start to finish, so stay tuned for that.

12.9-inch iPad Pro Released with Apple Pencil: Specifications, Features and Pricing Details

Apple has finally announced the hotly anticipated iPad Pro at the Bill Graham Auditorium, today. For over two years now, we have been seeing a multitude of rumors coming from Cupertino hinting at Apple working on a larger-sized tablet catering to power users of business and education markets. Lo and behold, as Apple has finally taken the wraps off the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
“The biggest news in iPad since iPad”

Introducing it like the preshus ring forged in the Mount Doom, it seemed like Tim Cook is really a big fan of Lord of the Rings. Following are all the iPad Pro details along with its accessories as they unfold.
    Specs at a glance:

    • Larger 12.9-inch display
    • Higher resolution than 15-inch MacBook Pro at 2732×2048
    • A9X processor, 1.8X faster than A8X, 2x faster graphics
    • 10-hour battery
    • Can simultaneously edit 3 4K streams at once
    • 4 speaker audio system (stereo)
    • 6.9mm thick compared to iPad Air at 6.1mm
    • 1.57 pounds
    • Supports two new accessories: Smart Keyboard and an Apple Pencil
    • 8MP iSight camera
    • Starts at $799
    • Available from November

    Design:
Bringing forward the design ideology of iPad Air 2, 12.9-inch iPad Pro features a 2732 x 2048 display encased in a thin bezel. 5.6m pixels make it look even better than a Retina MacBook Pro display. Similar aluminum back with curved edges and a FaceTime camera on the front with an iSight camera on the back finishes the iPad look. From the design, it looks like iPad Pro is really nothing but a larger iPad as it fits in very well with the rest of the iPad Air and iPad mini models. iPad Pro is only 6.9mm thick compared to 6.1mm thickness of iPad Air 2, weighing at 1.57 pounds. The width of the iPad Pro is same as the height of the iPad Air 2, which clarifies how users will be able to run full-sized apps, side by side.
Apple is powering the iPad Pro on an A9X chip which will offer improved performance and experience when compared to A8X fitted inside iPad Air 2. The new A9x is 1.8 times faster than the A8X, giving “desktop class” of performance and 2x better graphics performance, for “console-class” performance. Apple’s Phill Scheller proudly quipped, “our chip team is just on fire.”
Apart from these, iPad Pro also includes Touch ID, a four-speaker audio system, an 8-megapixel iSight camera, 10-hour battery life, and support for LTE. That’s not all though as there’s even more…
    Optional Smart Keyboard:

iPad Pro is supplemented with an optional keyboard accessory that also acts like a cover. Looking somewhat similar to the keyboards we have seen with Microsoft’s Surface series, Smart Keyboard uses key domes that were first showcased with the new MacBook launched earlier this year. Smart Keyboard connects to the iPad Pro using a “Smart Connector” that carries power and data to the keyboard – yep, no Bluetooth connection.
    Apple Pencil:
“Highly responsive sensors built into the tip of Apple Pencil sensor pressure, tilt, and stroke.”
The iPad Pro also sports a stylus accessory called Apple Pencil. Building on different pressures, stylus will help users avail enhanced capabilities of drawing and design apps. This integration between the display and the stylus is something that takes the tablet apart from others in the range. Working differently based on the levels of pressures, users will be able to accomplish much more than just tap and swipe. What’s surprising is that you can use the Apple Pencil simultaneously with your finger on the display.

When you use the Pencil with the iPad Pro, your tablet will increase the amount of scanning on the surface to improve accuracy. The Apple Pencil has sensitivity sensors which means different pressure levels result in different tasks like brief strokes or wider strokes. Apple Pencil can be recharged using a Lightning connector plugging directly into the iPad pro.
Apple is also talking about optimized apps – like a new Notes app – that are designed specifically to take benefit from the new Apple Pencil tool. In these apps are also included Microsoft’s Office suite. Apple seems to be supporting Microsoft “today more than ever” as it has worked with Microsoft to make Office for iPad better than ever before. Creating rich documents with touch appears to be the goal here. Apple invited Microsoft on stage to demonstrate new versions of the Office for iOS apps supporting Apple Pencil. Along with Microsoft, Adobe also joined Apple on the stage to demonstrate several apps like Adobe Photoshop Fix and Adobe Sketch.
    Color choices:
iPad Pro will be available in Gold, Space Gray and Silver. Nope, Apple is not offering the 12.9-inch tablet in the Rose Gold option.
    Storage and pricing options:
Considering the larger screen real estate that iPad Pro is offering, usage will be more at the notebook-end than like a typical tablet which is treated much like a larger smartphone. To deal with the amount of storage that a user will require, Apple is starting the storage right from 32GB. Following are all the storage options that you will be offered with:

    • 32GB WiFi Only for $799
    • 128GB WiFi Only for $949
    • 128GB WiFi + Cellular for $1079

There will also be a 128GB variant, but no 16GB or the much-wanted 64GB storage choices anymore with the MacBook-sized tablet.

    • Pencil for $99
    • Smart Keyboard $169

    Launch:
The iPad Pro and its accessories will start shipping in November, with pre-orders to begin at the end of October. Considering the fact that Apple is collaborating with enterprise partners like IBM and Cisco, company may want to have a longer lead time between today’s announcement and the launch to market it to enterprises. We heard about these partnerships only a week ago when announced them officially:
With Apple’s support, Cisco will deliver experiences specially optimized for iOS across mobile, cloud, and premises-based collaboration tools such as Cisco Spark, Cisco Telepresence and Cisco WebEx in order to deliver seamless team collaboration and reinvent the meeting experience.
This will also help developers optimize their apps for the larger screens, creating a strong demand before the tablet actually hits the shelves.
    Story Developing….

Adobe Brings Photoshop Fix And Photoshop Sketch For The iPad Pro

The ultra hyped iPad Pro has finally made it to the stage. Undoubtedly it is one of the most beautifully designed piece of hardware that integrates with the new operating system in a proficient manner. The iPad is designed considering a lot of aspects in mind such as productivity, creativity as well as domestic use. With such a large screen real estate, the means of interactions have been widened. This narrows down to a new addition in Apple’s accessory department, the Apple Pencil.

The Apple Pencil is a great interactive tool that will enable users to create wonderful art as well as enhance productivity. To sum it all up, The iPad Pro with Apple Pencil is a dynamic duo that ease the way we interact with the world. However, Apple has made use of a lot developers who are specialized in their field of development. A bigger screen requires specialized apps for creativity and productivity. Two new apps from Adobe have contributed to the iPad Pro for advanced editing options.
Let’s see how these two apps stack up against the iPad Pro’s larger screen real estate.

Adobe Introduces Two New Apps For The iPad Pro

Adobe is here with some new apps, focusing on productivity and creativity of the iPad Pro. One of the apps introduced by Adobe is the Photoshop Fix. Photoshop Fix is a great app for fixing errors in pictures. It has auto face detection that enables you to make alternative changes to the picture. For instance, making a person smile from a dull smolder. The app is really powerful and works according to the needs of the consumer. So no need to re-shoot pictures, you can simply use Adobe’s Photoshop Fix and fix the issue. The app has been optimized for the iPad Pro.

Another app from Adobe besides the Photoshop Fix is the Photoshop Sketch. Similar to the Photoshop Fix, Photoshop Sketch is a creative app that enables users to create amazing sketches right on their iPad Pro. The app integrates with the Apple Pencil and provide utility beyond the standard touch control. For instance, pressing the Apple Pencil harder on the display would result in darker colors and vice versa. The app has more options and integrates with other apps for more extensive utility.
Overall, the two new apps to be introduced by Adobe will milestone productivity and creativity in mobile operating systems. As for now, share your thoughts about these two apps in the comments.

iPad Pro vs Surface Pro 3 – Comparison and a Quick Look at the Specs

Apple announced its oft-rumored and long anticipated 12.9-inch iPad Pro earlier today. For the past two years, we have been getting tidbits in the shape of various rumors that kept reminding us that Cupertino was indeed busy designing a hybrid device aka a larger tablet. Considering the fact that Microsoft was one of the first who managed to successfully market this concept with its Surface Pro 3, iPad Pro vs Surface Pro 3 comparison is only natural.

Come on, don’t look at me like that. It was long coming, wasn’t it? There are, of course, things that are beyond comparison here, for example the operating system. While you would expect a 12.9-inch screen to be large enough to take advantage of a desktop operating system, Apple appears to be tagging the iPad Pro as an iPad, not just another MacBook. This looks like an important decision for a company that has released the 12-inch MacBook only a few months back. There needed to be at least a few differences to make both the products unveiled in the same year, successful.
Apple has showcased a very beautiful and powerful Apple Pencil with its iPad Pro and also invested more than a few minutes talking about the Smart Keyboard. One thing is clear that the $799 price tag is not final as a power user buying an iPad Pro instead of a MacBook will also want to invest in Pencil, Smart Keyboard, or perhaps both these accessories to be able to take more benefit out of the screen real estate and the productivity choices that open up with the Apple Pencil.

While many may argue that Apple has taken its cue from Microsoft, which is partially true, we cannot take this product for granted as Apple has certainly given much thought into the design and the productivity aspect of the tablet. Surface Pro 3, if I may say, is nothing but a notebook without a keyboard. The same cannot be said for the iPad Pro as its pressure sensitive Apple Pencil seems to be adding much depth into what can be done with the larger tablet. Not something that you can experience with Surface Pro 3. Not only is Apple taking advantage of its already vast App Store to offer optimized apps for iPad Pro but has also partnered with Microsoft (heh!) and Adobe to enhance productivity and design apps.
We wouldn’t be able to talk more about iPad Pro until it is available in November to do actual, real-life comparisons, but it honestly looks like a winner device for the segment that has been buying hybrids like Surface Pro 3. If you ask me, I don’t feel confident using such a large screen powered by a mobile operating system. We will see how it pans out and how much every app is optimized for the increased screen real estate, but comparing my experience of “working” with iOS and iPad, I have never really fallen for using power apps (like Office or WordPress) on iOS. Some of us always stay old school, I guess.
For those interested, here is a quick glance at the specs of both the iPad Pro and the Surface Pro 3.

Looks Like Someone Predicted An iPad Pro Long Before Apple Could Have Thought About It

It looks like Apple’s creative thinkers were not the first that decided to brainstorm on an iPad Pro. An illustrator decided to predict that the Cupertino tech giant would release its giant sized slate quite some time ago. Let us see who this creative person was.

Joel Watson Draws Up A Comic Showing That Apple Would Showcase And iPad Pro In 2015

A comic that was published exactly three years ago showed that Joel Watson illustrated Microsoft announcing its original Surface tablet back in 2012. Though the crowd was not that receptive towards the software giant’s offering, the artist predicted that the exact opposite reaction would be given when iPad Pro was concerned, in 2015. While there are some predictions that completely deviate what the final product looks like, it is amazing to see how this individual got it right. After all, a larger screen tablet that not only exceeds the dimensions of iPad Air 2, but also excels in performance and can easily be used as a laptop substitute.

While previous iPads were not equipped with accessories designed to improve the productivity of the user, Apple has rolled out not one, but two accessories in order to make this possible (which have to be purchased separately unfortunately). Apple Pencil and a Smart Keyboard will provide the ideal solution to the user if a laptop alternative is what they are looking for. Coming to the hardware specifications of iPad Pro, the 12.9 inch slate is running a resolution of 2732 by 2048 pixels, which is a much higher resolution compared to the company’s 15 inch MacBook Pro.

Additionally, the A9X SoC is 1.8 times faster than A8X, meaning that you will have serious performance packed in to a 12.9 inch form factor. In fact, performance is so high that users will effortlessly be able edit three 4K streams at once. Apart from this, users can rake up to 10 hours of battery life on iPad Pro, and while it might be slightly thicker compared to iPad Air (6.9mm compared to the latter’s 6.1mm thickness), it is a worthy product in its own right (as long as you have sufficient cash for it).

There is also an 8MP iSight rear camera and the product will carry a starting price of $799 when it is available to purchase in November. Keep in mind that the aforementioned price tag is of the base storage model, and has 32GB of internal memory.

iPad Pro Reported To Have Twice The RAM Count As iPad Air 2

During Apple’s event, the tech giant unveiled its gargantuan sized iPad Pro that not only features a resolution of 2732 by 2048 pixels (resulting in the product having more pixels compared to a 15 inch MacBook Pro), but also a huge screen size of 12.9 inches. Now, the latest hardware specification that we have been able to come across shows that iPad Air 2 is nowhere near in the same performance league as the newly announced slate.

iPad Pro Reported To Feature Twice The Amount Of RAM As iPad Air 2 – Adobe Has Confirmed This

During yesterday’s keynote, Apple did reveal a lot of features that were present in iPad Pro. Perhaps the most notable hardware component incorporated into the 12.9 inch tablet was its A9X SoC, which delivers 1.8 times the performance of A8X, the chipset that is present in iPad Air 2 (and is also able to make short work of NVIDIA Tegra K1 with a Denver CPU).
Now, Apple did not divulge the amount of RAM that is present in iPad Pro but it looks like it will not have to since Adobe has already spilled the beans. That being said, iPad Pro features 4GB of RAM, which is twice the amount that is present in iPad Air 2. After all, editing three 4K streams in a single time will require sufficient amounts of RAM, and the tablet is armed to the teeth in order to provide a fluid operation to the user.
If that was not enough, Apple has also rolled out two accessories, which will have to be purchased separately, unfortunately. Apple Pencil is the company’s first ever stylus and will be retailing for $99, while Smart Keyboard is a keyboard accessory which will provide an additional layer of productivity, if you happen to be sick and tired of using the on-screen keyboard of iPad Pro. According to Apple, the 12.9 inch slate will also be able to deliver 10 hours of battery life, and features an 8MP iSight rear camera.

The product also serves as an ideal multimedia device, since it features four stereo speakers that deliver an unprecedented sound quality as compared to the rest of the iPad lineup. The starting price of iPad Pro is $799 for the 32GB model. The tablet will ship out during the month of November, and will also be available to purchase in the following storage variants (pricing details have also been included).

    • 128GB – $949 (Wi-Fi only)
    • 128GB – $1,079 (Wi-Fi + cellular connectivity)

So what do you guys think? How much fight will iPad Pro be able to deliver to the competition? Let us know your thoughts.
