Open world games have started to become more seemless experiences, not being interrupted by tiresome loading screens. Batman Arkham Knight is the most recent example of this trend and it appears that the upcoming post apocalyptic open world RPG, Fallout 4, is about to follow suit.
Todd Howard, Fallout 4 director, has stated that there won’t be a loading screen when entering the city of Boston, and there will be a lot of buildings that you can just walk and enter inside seamlessly.
In an interview with
DigitalSpy, Howard said regarding the size of Fallout 4:
“I avoid answering that, and I’ll tell you why. If you look at our previous stuff, it’s kind of like that. We don’t actually measure it like that. Because Skyrim is one size, but the mountains take up a lot of space. That’s not really a game place, it’s in your way, you have to go around it, so we’re not really doing that. In the city, it’s very dense, but there is no load – like in Fallout 3, there’s a load – for areas of the city, we don’t do that. So it’s very dense, the buildings are tall, and a lot of them are open, so you can just walk in and around, so… it’s big. I wouldn’t say, you know, if you played Skyrim, I couldn’t tell you it’s X bigger, so we’re just saying it’s about the same size.”
Mod support for Fallout 4 has already been confirmed for PC and Xbox One Mod support has been already been confirmed for PC, and Xbox One. When asked whether they will be bringing mod support to PS4, Howard stated:
“We will be. Well, we’re going to make every effort to. If Sony says no, we won’t, but I don’t think they will.”
“But, you know, it will come out on PC first. So early 2016, the creation mod for the PC, and then we’re going to make that work on the Xbox One, and then we’re going to do the PS4 version.”
Bethesda has released a
new batch of screenshots and artwork for Fallout 4. The images do showcase some impressive visuals with a lot of intricate details.
Bethesda announced that Fallout 4, will hit the shelves for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 10, 2015. This confirms the previous rumors that the game would release would release this year. Game Director Todd Howard also revealed that development started right after the release of Fallout 3, with the studio being fully dedicated to the tile during the last four years.
Fallout 4, begins before the nuclear fallout, and the world looks absolutely beautiful. The title features full physically based rendering and dynamic volumetric lighting.
The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition Is selling like crazy, and even though it appears to be a bit “silly”, its definitely the best kind of silly.
As Todd Howard stated during the Bethesda’s E3 2015 press conference:
“The Pip-Boy is important part of Fallout, and we love it so much that we made a real one,” He said. “Yes, you can put your phone in it, and yes, we made an app for it so it works with the game, and yes it’s a second screen experience. Usually I find second-screen experiences to be stupid gimmicks, but as far as stupid gimmicks goes, this is the best f—–g one I’ve ever seen.”
We will bring you any news about Fallout 4, as soon as it becomes available.
