Gears of War - Marcus Fenix Collection [X1]

Parece que depois do Remaster da colecção do Halo, vamos ter o remarster da colecção do Gears of War na Xbox One.

    #TheMarcusFenixCollection moves into the spotlight

Only moments ago, Phil Spencer jumped on Twitter and provided the Gears community with a very exciting retweet.
As we know, Phil Spencer doesn’t just retweet and old tweet, especially if it’s one regarding a subject that has been kept very hush hush. No news has been coming out of camp Black Tusk about the upcoming Gears of War instalment and no one seems willing to even discuss the possibility of #TheMarcusFenixCollection.
With one little press of a button Phil Spencer has not only acknowledged the movement again, but he has also given the Gears community a massive amount of hope that this means something is already in the works.

Are we on the verge of getting an announcement?
Is this Phil’s way of telling us not to fear that he knows what we want and he is working on it?
Only time will tell, but for the moment we are extremely optimistic that this is a strong sign that we are finally about to get our Xbox prayers answered.
Stay tuned as I will be sure to continue updating you on any further progress.

If you want to help ensure that we get The Marcus Fenix Collection on the Xbox One please join in by signing this petition: Bring #TheMarcusFenixCollection to the Xbox One

Gears of War HD Remaster (?)

Is Gears of War Getting an HD Remaster? It’s Not Improbable

There talk going around that point towards the possibility of an HD remaster for the original Gears of War. Polygon reports that one of their sources has information regarding that impending Gears of War remaster.

Though not confirmed, an original Gears of War HD remaster might just be in the works.

Supposedly the original Gears of War that was released in 2006 by Epic might be getting a complete remaster, with improved visuals and enhanced cut scenes much in the same way that Halo 2 received.
Black Tusk Studios, the developer that is currently working on the next Gears of War, hasn’t confirmed any such plans for a remaster and has even gone far enough to deny such claims last month, but the source from Polygon seems to be very adamant about the potential for a remaster. In fact, Phil Spencer mentioned something about a Marcus Fenix Collection last year, though that was supposedly simply not true.

This year during E3 Microsoft, and it’s studio Black Tusk Studios, do plan on showcasing some fantastic games this year, and it could be that they simply want to keep the information under wraps until the official reveal. Anything is technically possible, though we won’t know for sure until E3 in June or another slip of the tongue on Twitter.
I think it would be great business sense to offer a remastered version of one of their most successful franchises. It just makes business sense. As we move on to the next generation of consoles, some still may want to play the iconic game. The Master Chief Collection has shown us that HD remasters can work if done correctly.
This, of course, isn’t confirmed by any means but the possibility is always there.

Gears of War remaster in development for the Xbox One by Splash Damage

With the original Gears of War coming out nearly 10 years ago now, news of a remaster for the Xbox One shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Especially since Microsoft acquired the Gears of War IP from Epic Games not too long ago, but now Splash Damage is reportedly behind the remaster of Gears of War for the Xbox One.

With news of a new Gears of War game coming soon teasing gamers, a remaster of what started it all makes sense. Back in March, Black Tusk studio boss Rod Fergusson told Polygon last month: "I love the passion, but there's no Marcus Fenix Collection. We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I'll see you at E3!".

Polygon is reporting that the Gears of War remaster will feature 60FPS multiplayer, which I'm sure will be in the singleplayer side of the game too. Here's hoping for a full 1080p 60FPS, considering how much faster the Xbox One is than the Xbox 360.

Microsoft bricks consoles belonging to Gears of War leakers

The extreme backlash following Microsoft’s Xbox One announcement in 2013 prompted the company toremove some of the more draconian DRM and security features, but if you thought Microsoft had no control over your console, think again. A few Xbox One owners are finding out the hard way what Microsoft is capable of if you upset the wrong people. After leaking images from the upcoming Gears of War remake for the Xbone, Microsoft has reportedly bricked their consoles. The recipients of this punishment are contractors for a company called VMC Games, and one of the projects VMC is handling is testing for the new Gears title. Contractors who are tasked with putting the game through its paces are required to sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA), but that didn’t stop several testers from leaking videos and screenshots of the game. VMC and Microsoft apparently tracked down two of the culprits, and an example has to be made — they’re getting the Xbox One death penalty.
According to an email sent to VMC community members, one tester sent a screenshot of the new Gears to another VMC contractor. This second fellow then leaked it online. On VMC’s side, the contractors violated the NDA in a pretty explicit way. They’ve been removed from their projects and the company’s legal department is looking things over. This is really what you have to expect when breaking an NDA, but the pair also violated the Xbox Live EULA. That’s why their personal consoles and accounts are on the chopping block.

Microsoft has permanently banned their Xbox One accounts, as well as any other accounts on their consoles. This is something Microsoft has been doing for years, so surprises there. However, the company has also blocked all of their Xbox One privileges, meaning their consoles are completely unusable (according to VMC). This is a “temporary” measure that will only last until such time as Microsoft decides to turn their consoles back on. That could mean a week, a month, or (technically) never.
Microsoft claims, however, that revoking privileges only disables all the online services and features. So if you go to the store and buy a game disk, you could probably play it. However, many games have zero-day patches that you probably wouldn’t be able to install on the blocked console. This is similar to actions Microsoft took way back in the day of mod chips that could be used to bypass game DRM. The company could ban an account, but also block the device itself from accessing Live services (because the hardware was modified, obviously).
These are only the guys who let a screenshot get out. If Microsoft finds the leakers of the above video, they’ll have to find something even more severe. VMC contractors aren’t provided with any company accounts or consoles to test games, so these are personal devices that were blocked. You can’t feel too sorry for these particular contractors, seeing as they violated an NDA and leaked confidential material. They’ll be lucky if a temporarily bricked console is the worst thing that happens. Still, it’s a little concerning that Microsoft has the ability to remotely deactivate an Xbox One in addition to your account.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to the PC

Gears of War: Ultimate Editionisn't just for Xbox One owners anymore. The Coalition studio boss Rod Fergusson confirmed that the remastered version of the Xbox 360 classic will be available to PC gamers at the PC Gaming Show this evening.
The PC version gets some goodies above and beyond those we'll see on the Xbox One, including 4K support, uncapped framerates, DirectX 12 features, and other visual enhancements. Fergusson didn't share an Ultiate Edition release date for the PC, and he was also mum on any potential PC version of the upcoming Gears of War 4. Still, the Ultimate Edition sounds like a great way to re-experience a classic title.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition Announced for PC, Supports DX12 and 4K; Gears 4 PC Teased for, Killer Instinct Incoming

During the PC Gaming Show Event at E3 2015, The Coalition Studio’s head Rod Ferguson, announced that Hears of War: Ultimate Edition will be making its way to PC. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on PC will feature support for 4K resolution, unlocked frame rate and DX12. It will also add mouse/keyboard controls on top of the controller support.

There is a possibility that Gears 4 could also be coming to the PC

Responding as to whether PC gamers can look forward to more Gears of War, he mentioned that there’s nothing to announce at this point, and that’s something that he’ll have to talk about at a later time. Ferguson’s response could be an indication that Gears of War 4 could also be headed to Windows 10 PCs in the future.

Killer Instinct coming to PC with cross-play support

Phil Spencer was present at the PC Gaming event and revealed that Killer Instinct will also be coming to the PC, something which is certainly exciting news for fighting fans, and further proof of Microsoft’s renewed dedication to PC gaming.
“We’re going to bring Killer Instinct to the PC,”
“and we’re going to allow people to play on PC, to play on console, to play back and forth.”

Iron Galaxy head Dave Lang confirmed on Twitter that Killer Instinct will support cross-play between Windows and Xbox One, and owners of the Xbox One version will have all purchased DLC for the PC version as well.

    Dave Lang @JosephJBroni
Cross-Play confirmed. Also, whatever you've bought on XBox One will be there, waiting for you dutifully on Windows 10 #KillerInstinct

This is certainly exciting news, as we see more and more Xbox titles coming over to the PC, and hopefully things will be even better in the future, when the Windows 10 platform is being implemented for both PCs and the Xbox One console. Cross-platform titles could become more common, creating a far better environment for both developers and gamers, allowing for an easier and quicker transition between the two platforms.
We will bring you any new information on Gears of War Ultimate Edition on PC, a potential Gears of War 4 PC release and Killer Instinct as soon as it becomes available.
