FEATURES:

• Making courses is easy. Players use the GamePad touch screen to easily drag and drop elements they want in their levels. Place blocks, pipes, lifts and enemies anywhere and play through the level. Want a Goomba to wear a Piranha Plant on its head, build a tower 10 Goombas tall or make a Piranha Plant fly by giving it wings?
• Players can instantly playtest and edit their creations on the fly. If something isn't working, go back into edit mode immediately by tapping a button and make tweaks until everything is just right.

'Super Mario Maker' update adds new elements, makes searching for levels much easier

Nintendo has a brand new Super Mario Maker update in the works that'll make searching for levels a whole lot easier.
Nintendo will launch a web portal called Super Mario Maker Bookmark that gives gamers three ways to search for levels from a PC or mobile device. Recommended Courses, as you'd expect, will be populated with a randomly selected list of recommended courses. There's also the option to search for levels based on rankings.
Perhaps the most powerful new method, however, is the filter-based course search which facilitates discovery using a number of criteria including theme, region, difficulty, upload date, game style and more.





The best part about Super Mario Maker Bookmark is the fact that levels you queue up will be ready and waiting once you get back on the Wii U. You'll need to sign in using your Nintendo Network ID but otherwise, the process is pretty simple.

The December 21 update will also include a handful of new elements and building tools including P Warp Doors, a Fire Koopa Clown Car, a Bumper and a list of world records on each page showcasing the player that has the fastest completion time. You'll also be able to see other stats like which user was the first to clear the stage.

Super Mario Maker Gets Sky Pop Mario Costume, New Trailer Released

The excellent Wii U exclusive game Super Mario Maker has received plenty of additional Event Courses in the past few weeks, which allow players to unlock a variety of special Mystery Mushroom costumes. A new Event Course has been made available earlier today in all regions, a course which rewards players with a Super Mario Land inspired costume upon completion.

The new Super Mario Maker Event Course is called Southwest Air Adventure and rewards players with the Sky Pop Mario Mystery Mushroom Course. The Sky Pop airplane has originally appeared in the GameBoy classic platform game Super Mario Land and was usable only in a single stage, World 4-3. A new trailer showcasing both the new Event Course and the new Mystery Mushroom costume has been shared online earlier today and you can check it out right below.

Super Mario Maker is running at 30FPS on the latest Wii U emulator

YouTuber 'Chris Gallizzi' has used his Core i7-4790K and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 to get Super Mario Maker running on Cemu (the Nintendo Wii U emulator) at 30FPS.






Considering Super Mario Maker is one of the best games on the Wii U, and it's running at 30FPS, this is quite the achievement. The latest version of the Wii U emulator is capable of running Super Mario Maker at 30FPS, with the video above showing off its emulation chops.

Super Mario Cluttered Chaos-Calculator Level Anyone?

Creativity is never more alive than when the gaming community decides to invent whole levels based on various creative influences. The Super Mario Maker title has been an exciting and imaginative vehicle that aims to open up a range of possibilities for all kinds of creative mischief, one such level involves a working calculator within the super Mario Universe.
Want to know more? Of course you do, the project is coined “The Cluttered Chaos Calculator” and has been created by Mario Level Maker “Giant”, it works out a maths equation (6+6) and is demonstrated by the video below, luckily, there is a reddit guide to explain exactly what is going on.





To put it simply, “this Super Mario Maker level lets you select two numbers between 0 and 7, it lets the player choose their way up and then computes and displays their sum automatically”.
There is also an image via sharing site imgur which reveals the logic behind this fantastic project. It has been noted that similar adding machines have been created in the past using Super Mario Maker, but, this looks to be the “first one with a decimal conversion and proper display of the result”.
It’s an incredibly complex yet educational tool all rolled into one, just reading the extremely detailed breakdown is fascinating, hopefully, we will see many more creative examples as in this case within the future.
