iOS 8.4.1 Beta 2 For iPhone, iPad Released

iOS 8.4.1 beta 2 download for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users has been seeded to developers. The beta is available to download immediately via OTA or through Apple’s Developer Program channel.

If you already have iOS 8.4.1 beta installed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch then grabbing beta 2 is a walk in the park. Simply launch the Settings app from your home screen, then tap on General then Software Update. After a few seconds the beta 2 update would show up, all set to be downloaded and installed onto your device. The footprint of the update is small, so don’t expect it to take a while to install, until or unless you have a choppy Internet connection.

If you’re downloading fresh however, then you need to head over to the Apple Developer Program website to download the pre-release bits onto your device. The process involves signing up with an annual $99 fee, registering your iOS device with Apple, and then of course, updating your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the latest pre-release build. Though it sounds like as if a lot of legwork is involved, but once you’ve signed up to Apple’s Developer Program, grabbing beta builds and installing them onto your device is a walk in the park. After all, with one keen membership, you also get access to beta builds of iOS 9 as well as OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
iOS 8.4.1 beta 2 (build number 12H318) is a pure bug fix release and comes just two weeks after the first beta of said firmware was released to registered developers. Also keep in mind that there’s no public beta for iOS 8.4.1, so end users have to wait it out until the final release hits consumer channels, the timeframe for which is currently unknown. But whenever the release does happen, we’ll definitely let our readers know about it, and also provide direct links to iOS 8.4.1 IPSW files, so stay tuned for that.
At this point in time, there’s apparently nothing new in iOS 8.4.1 beta 2 visually, and all the changes seem to reside in how the operating system works behind the scenes. But if we do happen to spot anything new in relevance to iOS 8.4 – the current public release – then we will definitely update this article with those bits. Until then, we’re going out to explore what Apple has in store for us in the beta department, till then, hang in there and grab a cup of coffee.

SafeTexting Jailbreak Tweak Provides Enhanced Privacy Controls To iMessage

iMessage is an SMS alternative platform for iOS devices and it’s a favorite to many (including us). Many of us use it as a daily driver to stay connected with associates, colleagues, friends or family. On that note, security is of great important to us. And SafeTexting is one such tweak that aims to provide security beyond the boundaries of stock iOS so users can interact in a safe yet workable environment.

Let’s dive right in and see what security features SafeTexting has to offer. For starters, SafeTexting is a jailbreak tweak that disables the typing indicator in iMessage. Initially, when you start typing on the keyboard, the other person is notified that you are typing a reply. SafeTexting gets rid of the typing indicator so the recipient has absolutely no clue whether you’re jotting away on that keyboard or not. This is a little tweak that can go a long way for some iMessage users.
Enhance Your iMessage Privacy With SafeTexting

Moreover, the message ‘Read’ receipt is a really troublesome feature for some, yet highly useful for others in some cases. What if you don’t want to reply back? It creates a negative frenzy about the person who reads and not replies. Hence, SafeTexting has the ability to send read receipts once the reply is sent to the message. So if you have read the message, it’s not obligatory for you to reply because so far, the person on the other end has no idea that you read it.

Furthermore, there is a separate preference pane in SafeTexting’s setting menu where you have three more options in contrast to the read receipts. You can either choose to send receipts when you send a reply, start typing your reply or let SafeTexting ask you when to send it. SafeTexting also has the ability to delay messages before they are delivered. This means that you can choose the delay-time for each message to be sent.
The developer is considering to add some more features in the tweak, such as viewing contact pictures in Messages and opening conversations where you left.
This is a pretty neat tweak designed to assign more privacy for the user on iMessage. The tweak is available from Cydia’s BigBoss repo and is currently priced at $1.00. SafeTexting has full support for iOS 8 as long as it is jailbroken. If you have this tweak installed, let us know in the comments how you liked it.

Type And Walk Safely With Ariki Jailbreak Tweak

Walking while typing on your iPhone is not a good idea. There’s a chance you might bump into objects, or people, which ultimately might not end well. However, with Ariki, you can walk and type at the same time and keep away from bumping into anything that comes in your way. Ariki is a new jailbreak tweak that turns your iOS keyboard into a live camera automatically while you’re using the keyboard.

Above the awesome functionality that Ariki offers, the method of activation is very simple. All you have to do is long press the spacebar and the rear camera will go live, reflecting whatever is in your way onto your keyboard. This way you can avoid the fortuity to smack into someone or something. The method to return to the default keyboard theme is the same, so enabling and disabling the tweak on a short notice is really handy.
Ariki Keeps You From Bumping Into Obstacles While You Walk And Type

If you’re walking and typing at night time, press and hold the ‘F’ key on your iOS keyboard to switch on/off the flash light at once. Ariki is a pretty useful tweak that can prevent an unwanted collision while you walk and text simultaneously.
Another much appreciated thing about Ariki is the preference pane from where you can access the tweak’s settings and controls. The settings are placed in an uncomplicated manner so you can interact and choose controls effortlessly.

The settings behold an on/off switch to enable or disable the tweak. Other than this, you can assign an Activator gesture to turn the camera view on/off, switch between themes and set the transparency of the camera view. Furthermore, you also have the availability of different toggles which are responsible for disabling and enabling the flashlight or the camera.

Ariki is a beautifully designed app that keeps you from walking into hurdles and obstacles. If you’re the type of person who texts while walking then you should definitely give Ariki a shot on your iPhone. It supports iOS 8 devices and is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $1.49. We totally recommend you to give this tweak a swirl and let us know about your experience. We love hearing from our readers.

VideoPane Updated With Support For New Apps, Revamped UI And More

VideoPane is a tweak that enables you to multitask and put videos afloat anywhere on the screen. The tweak gained much appreciation when Apple decided to adopt the feature in its forthcoming iOS 9 as the muched hyped Picture in Picture functionality. VideoPane’s ability to detach and drag videos out of native video player app allows users to multitask with ease.

Recently, VideoPane was updated to version 2.0 that brings with it some pretty useful and handy features. The tweak now supports additional iOS 8 apps including ones with DRM protected content. The tweak now also features the ability to customize buttons on the detached video according to a user’s preferences. Above all, the tweak has been redesigned which brings a much more cleaner look and feel to the fore.
VidoePane Update Brings More Functionality With Fluid Transitions And More

VideoPane seems to be more fluid than its previous iterations. The transitions are fluid and smooth. In the previous version of VideoPane, the video started buffering from the start when the tweak was activated. Now, when the video is detached, it continues to play from where it is left off. This is an overall improvement which is highly appreciated in the updated version.
    Ryan Petrich on Twitter wrote:
The VideoPane 2.0 update is available to download directly from Cydia, however it’s flagged as a beta release for now. But if you proceed further and want to give the tweak a shot, you will see that VideoPane has a lot of improvements over the previous versions. Altogether, the tweak is way more stable and worth using with new buttons to stretch video to the full-screen mode. Moreover, the video’s native app gets minimized automatically when the video is detached from the app.
Comparatively, VideoPane’s updated version is way more stable than the previous ones. It boasts more functionality and fluid, consistent animations providing users with a much greater experience.
The update is completely free If you are an existing user of VideoPane. However, for those who want to try this tweak, it costs a mere $1.99. Do give this tweak a shot and let us know about your experience in the comments.

Top 6 Cydia Jailbreak Tweaks For iPhone You Should Download This Week

Here’s a list of the best Cydia tweaks and apps you can download right away for your jailbroken iPhone this week. There are great tweaks to choose from such as Epicentre, Stalky etc. and we have the complete list right here.

Epicentre – Best Passcode replacement tweak

There are many tweaks out there that have taken inspiration from the Apple Watch. So far, we have different themes and tweaks that bring forth the look and feel of the Apple Watch UI to the home screen on an iPhone. However, none of those tweaks really do anything for the lock screen, and more specifically, the passcode screen.
But then Epicentre arrived, making it one of the best passcode screen replacement tweak, and its UI was inspired by the Apple Watch. When swiping right from your lock screen to enter the passcode, Epicentre will present you with ten buttons (1-10) in a circular order, and in the middle is a lock icon. You can either choose to tap on the numbers or drag them to the lock icon to enter the passcode.

You will have several customization settings once you install Epicentre from Cydia.
This tweak is currently available for free from the BigBoss repo.
KeySwipe – Fastest way to change keyboards

KeySwipe is a new paid tweak that could be handy for many iOS users, especially if your keyboard has a bunch of different languages and you want to switch between them much quickly.
Basically, KeySwipe makes switching keyboards smoother by allowing you to swipe up and down to switch between the keyboards that you have added instead of having to tap on a button to achieve the same thing.
KeySwipe is currently being sold for $0.99 on the BigBoss repo.
SeeBlockedTweets – Got blocked on Twitter? No worries!

When your friends or someone you know block you on Twitter, that means they no longer want you to see their tweets or interact with them. Set aside the real reasons why they did that in the first place, let’s surprise those that blocked you on Twitter with a simple tweak called SeeBlockedTweets.
This free jailbreak tweak will let you continue to see tweets, photos, and timeline of someone who has blocked your account.
SeeBlockedTweets is downloadable from BigBoss repo and works with the official Twitter app.

Picture Passcode – Another level of unlocking your device

This week is awesome for jailbreakers who are currently looking to change their default boring passcode screen. Beside Epicentre, we also had another tweak called Picture Passcode, which allows you to unlock your iOS device using a picture.

Of course, you will have to set the combination of pictures you wish to display as your PIN and then tap on those images on the passcode screen in order to have access to the device. To ensure that you’re always safe when continuously entering the wrong combinations, Picture Passcode also works alongside the stock passcode feature. In other words, you can switch back to the default option if somehow you’re stuck with your picture.
This tweak cost $1.99 and is available from the BigBoss repo.
Watchdog Pro – Ultimate app backgrounding management

There are several ways to improve iOS battery life. The simplest way to do that is by killing apps that are running in the background. This can be done by double pressing on your Home button to gain access to the app switcher. From there you can quit as many apps you like.

This can take a lot of time if you’ve launched many apps in the past few hours or so. Why not try Watchdog Pro, the ultimate app background management tweak? Watchdog Pro will help you quit any app as soon as it enters background mode. This tweak also includes several other features such as Prevent Termination and Keep in Foreground. These are all helpful features related to backgrounded apps.
Users can buy Watchdog Pro tweak for $2.99 from Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
Stalky – A great way to stalk your WhatsApp Contacts

Want to see your WhatsApp contacts’ status updates quickly and easily? Stalky for jailbroken iPhones lets you do just that.

The tweak costs $1.99 and is available to download directly from the BigBoss repo.
We’ll be back with more Cydia tweaks next week, so stay tuned to our coverage.

Pimp Your iOS Notification Banners With AniBanner

Whenever you get a notification alert for any of your installed apps, you see a banner sliding down from the top of the screen that goes back up if no action is applied to it. This has been the default animation of the notification banner in iOS for a long time. However, if you have a jailbroken iOS device and you want to pimp the notification banner with a new and cool animation then we have a tweak just for that.

AniBanner is a new jailbreak tweak that adds new animation to the notification banner. The tweak enables users to switch from the default iOS notification banner animation to a new one, which, if you’re asking us, is pretty cool. The new animation effect is a pulsing notification banner that switches between squared and circular corners simultaneously. The notification banner consistently fades in and out giving the user more of an alert feel.
AniBanner Lets You Customize Your Notification Banner With Ease.

Apart from the general animation function, AniBanner also provides a list of options available in the tweak’s preference pane for more customization. Firstly, AniBanner’s preference pane features a toggle that can immediately disable or enable the tweak. Other toggles provide users with an option to switch on or off the transparency animation and animations that are part of the banner radius. Users can set these preferences according to their desire.

Among other options available in AniBanner’s preference pane, you will eye upon two sliders which are responsible for adjusting the speed of the animation as well as the corner radius of the notification banner. This will provide users with a more personalized view. Other than that, the next option enables a user to choose a tint color for the notification banner. Users can match the tint color of notification banners with respect to their wallpapers.
AniBanner also offers a preview button for the alterations made in the preference pane. The ‘Test Banner’ button is located below the pane, and the best part is that it does not require your device to be respringed to enable changes. However, AniBanner has no impact on lock screen notifications, it will only work once your jailbroken device is unlocked.
If you’re someone who is bored from the default notification banner then AniBanner is the tweak that you should definitely give a whirl.
Currently, AniBanner supports iOS 8 – 8.4. AniBanner is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $0.99. Let us know on the comments if you found AniBanner’s animations cool or distracting.

Download iOS 8.4.1 IPSW For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch – Direct Links

iOS 8.4.1 final build IPSW for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now available to download. We have the direct download links for the firmware files as well.

Right on cue, Apple has released the final build of iOS 8.4.1 to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users around the globe. And as you glance at the changelog straight away, you’ll realize that this update is a mere bug fix and performance enhancing release – nothing more.
First of all, the update aims to fix an issue where iCloud Music Library would not turn on for some users. So if you’re a fan of Apple Music and make good use of iCloud Music Library, then this is golden news for you right here. Furthermore, this update also fixes an issue in which your music would dramatically disappear just because Apple Music was set to show offline tracks only. Apart from that, you can check out the complete list of changes in the screenshot we have added below.
As you can see, all the changes are related to Apple Music and Beats 1, so users shouldn’t expect way too much from this release.

The complete changelog of the update is as follows:

There are two routes you can take to download the new iOS 8.4.1 update right away. You can either choose to download the IPSW file directly for your device and restore using iTunes, or you can download iOS 8.4.1 as an OTA update. Simply navigate to Settings > General > Software Update to grab the OTA right away. It’s a mere 57.4MB download – more or less depending on your device – and will only take a handful of minutes to download and install. And we urge all users to update away as it brings with it important bug fixes. Rest of the users can grab the IPSW files from below.
Here are the iOS 8.4.1 IPSW download links for iPhone:

iOS 8.4.1 Patches All TaiG Jailbreak Exploits; Stay Clear Of The Update

iOS 8.4.1 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch patches all the exploits necessary to make the TaiG jailbreak work, as confirmed by an official document posted by Apple.

Thus far, the TaiG jailbreak team has been successful in liberating iOS 8 up till version 8.4 of Apple’s mobile operating system. But, iOS 8.4.1 marks the release where all the necessary exploits needed to make the TaiG jailbreak work have been patched for good.
If you’re a jailbreak user, then we strongly urge you to not update to iOS 8.4.1 at any cost, and refrain from it completely. And if you’re a user who was planning to jailbreak and are currently running iOS 8.4 or below, then it’s highly recommended that you jailbreak straight away to reap its benefits.
If you’re a Mac user then you can jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch by following our guide posted here: Jailbreak iOS 8.4 Using TaiG On Mac – How To.
If you’re a Windows user, then check out our guide posted here for complete details. Alternatively, if TaiG is not your cup of tea then you can try its alternative PP to achieve the same thing. You can follow our complete guide posted here on how to use the PP jailbreak tool to liberate iOS 8.4.

It’s been an interesting ride so far regarding how the TaiG team has worked its magic to jailbreak iOS 8. And at this point, we’re quite certain that the team would not rest easy and will definitely throw in some effort to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1. But hey, it’s too early at this point to say or suggest anything at all, and we’ll wait for TaiG’s official word on the matter and see whether or not all is left in doom and gloom. But judging by how things usually work in the jailbreak world, we’re certain to hear some good news very soon.
If you have managed to update to iOS 8.4.1, then be sure to check up on us on a regular basis for more jailbreak related news. We’re certain TaiG, or maybe someone else, might have something good for us in store in terms of jailbreaking.
The rest who haven’t updated – sit tight, relax, and don’t even think about updating your device at all.
If you really don’t care about jailbreaking at all, and want to upgrade to iOS 8.4.1, then be sure to check out: Download iOS 8.4.1 IPSW For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch – Direct Links.

iOS 8.4.1 Jailbreak – Everything You Need to Know

Apple released iOS 8.4.1 patching several exploits that were used to jailbreak iOS 8.4 – iOS 8.1.3. This means you would no longer be able to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1 using TaiG jailbreak tool. With iOS 9 release almost here, following are all the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak details and precautionary steps that you need to know about to safely stay on a jailbroken device.

iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak: what to do right now

The first and a very obvious step is to stay away from updating your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the latest iOS 8.4.1 update as it would stop you from jailbreaking your devices until TaiG discovers some new exploits. In the meantime, you should update your device to iOS 8.4 if you haven’t done so yet. Apple will stop signing iOS 8.4 possibly next week giving you enough time to manually install it on your device and jailbreak it.
If you have already updated your device to iOS 8.4.1 then you can downgrade it to iOS 8.4 as Apple is still signing the OS version. Go to our comprehensive guide to manually install iOS 8.4 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. To keep up with the signing status, go to ipsw.me. When the status sign goes red it means you’d no longer be able to downgrade to or install iOS 8.4 on your devices.
    If you need to restore…

Next are the possible chances when you might get into trouble due to some problematic tweak that pushes you to restore your iOS device. Install SemiRestore (and OpenSSH) on your jailbroken device as it allows you to restore your device to stock condition without losing the jailbreak. This will be a very useful tool for the times when due to any kind of issues you need to restore your device. SemiRestore also removes all the jailbreak tweaks during the process which helps in getting rid of the buggy tweaks. Jailbreak status is safe, device gets to near stock condition and buggy tweaks are gone. What more can one ask for?
OpenSSH installation is a requirement because SemiRestore needs it to be installed on a device. Install OpenSSH from Cydia and you will be good to go. SemiRestore is compatible with all the jailbroken devices running iOS 8.4 – iOS 5.

Buggy tweaks and why to stay away from them

Since we are talking about the problematic tweaks that often lead to reboot loop making you to restore your jailbreak devices, here is one life-saving (err, jailbreak-saving?) tip. DO NOT INSTALL EVERY OTHER TWEAK THAT COMES YOUR WAY! Please do not. Be very careful when installing jailbreak tweaks as a buggy tweak would leave you with no choice but to restore your device leading you to possibly lose the jailbreak. Try to stick with the trusted names and sources and always be cautious while swimming in the unknown waters of the jailbreaking world.
While you should be super careful when installing tweaks from unknown / unreliable sources, it is equally important to get rid of the jailbreak tweaks that you no longer use. Uninstall all the jailbreak tweaks that you don’t use anymore as it reduces the chances of tweaks having compatibility issues with each other.
Also, do not play with the file system using tools like iFile as you might end up deleting some system files leading you again to the restore process. Enjoy your jailbroken devices but do not go overboard either with the tweaks or with the super access that it offers to you and you’ll be all good.
TL;DR: Don’t install iOS 8.4.1 until TaiG updates us. Install SemiRestore for safe-restore process. Do not play with the filesystem. Stay away from buggy tweaks and uninstall any jailbreak tweaks that you don’t use.
Note: You might want to use tools like TinyUmbrella to save SHSH blobs helping you to create IPSW files while they are still being signed on. SHSH blobs help you restore your device to a version that Apple is no longer signing. While rendered irrelevant by Apple, developer claims that it would be relevant again thanks to an exploit discovered by iH8sn0w.
We will keep you folks posted about all the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak news and updates.

Add New Features To iOS 8 Messages App With Convos Jailbreak Tweak

There is an ample supply of tweaks for jailbroken devices that either enhance or improve functionality in Messages app. These tweaks offer new versatile features that refines the capabilities of the the default iOS Messages app. However, these tweaks might be helpful for some jailbreak users while others still feel a dire need for more features. On that note, we bring to you the ‘Convos’ jailbreak tweak.

Convos is a new jailbreak tweak stringed with new features that jailbreakers would definitely want to put their hands on. This tweak carries astounding features that are probably not available in most of other messaging tweaks available on Cydia. Convos give you the ability to customize your Messages app along with a handful of other useful features which we will be telling you later on. The Messages app is likely to be one of the most frequently used apps on iOS and henceforth, tweaking it with Convos makes it really functional. So lets see some details over the new jailbreak tweak, Convos.
Customize And Add New Features To Messages App In iOS 8

The reason Convos sets itself apart from other jailbreak tweaks is its features which are available all at one place. Users do not need to install separate tweaks to integrate different features with iOS 8 Messages App. Moving on to the functions, Convos host a feature that would enable users to completely redesign the Messages app on iOS 8. It gives a new look and feel to the native messaging app with a completely new interface with bold colors for table backgrounds, summary and more.

Convos gives the ability to pin any conversation which will ultimately make that conversation to stay atop of the list. Users can use swipe gestures to easily mark the conversations as read or unread. The gesture based command is not only time saving but really fun to use. Conversations can also be sorted in alphabetical order other than chronological order. Users can also load more messages in a conversation thread that enables more text in a single view.

The customization aspect of the Convos tweak offers abundant options to play with. Users can veil or unveil the separator lines between each conversation, the ability to hide chevrons located at the right side of each conversation and the option to remove underlined events or URLs in chats. One of the most important features is the obfuscation of the Message name which is pretty great if users consider to take a screenshot.

Convos jailbreak tweak also holds two different sections in its beautifully designed preference pane; one for features and the other for customization options. Convos is an attractive and easy to use tweak. Personally, the tweak gives a funky aspect to the Messages app in iOS 8 which some users would definitely want to try. Available on Cydia’s BigBoss repository for $1.29, Convos only has support for devices running iOS 8. Share your experience with us if you considered giving this tweak a swirl.

Downgrade iOS 8.4.1 To iOS 8.4 And Jailbreak Using TaiG, PP

Here’s how you can downgrade iOS 8.4.1 on iPhone, iPad to iOS 8.4 and jailbreak using TaiG or PP. The process is fairly simple and anyone with a little spare time can accomplish wonders and reap the benefits of jailbreaking once again.

iOS 8.4.1 download was released yesterday to the public and came with extremely sad news that Apple had patched the exploits needed to make the TaiG jailbreak work. But luckily for us, all is not lost, as Apple is still signing iOS 8.4 currently, which means that you can downgrade right away as long as the window is open. Without further ado, we’ll walk you through the process of downgrading your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iOS 8.4 from iOS 8.4.1.
Make sure you backup everything using iCloud or iTunes beforehand, so you can restore all your data once the downgrade process is complete. Also be sure to turn off ‘Find My iPhone’ off before going ahead with the process – Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn the Find My iPhone toggle to the OFF position.
Downgrade iOS 8.4.1 To iOS 8.4

    1. First and foremost, download the iOS 8.4 IPSW firmware file tailored for your device. Make sure you grab the right one otherwise the downgrade process won’t work at all, hence get it right the first time.
    2. Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your Windows PC or Mac.
    3. Launch iTunes.
    4. Now select your device in iTunes from the top left hand corner.

    5. While holding down the ‘Option’ key on your Mac, or left ‘Shift’ key on Windows, click on the ‘Restore iPhone’ button, which will bring up a popup asking you to point it to the direction of an IPSW file. Select the iOS 8.4 firmware file you downloaded in step 1 in this instance.

    6. Once iTunes is done extracting and restoring the firmware, you’ll boot straight into iOS 8.4.
Remember, the downgrade period window is very short and it’s likely that Apple will stop signing iOS 8.4 in a matter of hours or minutes, so we suggest our readers and general users alike to downgrade right away if they want to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices.
Potential jailbreakers should definitely check out: iOS 8.4.1 Jailbreak – Everything You Need to Know.
