Need a game to play? Black Ops 3 multiplayer is free over the weekend

It's the weekend, there's a good chance that it'll be cold and dreadful outside in the majority of the world, so you might be looking for something new to play. And even though Call of Duty tends to get its fair share of criticism, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is having a free weekend. You can play the multiplayerr-centric Starter Pack for free until the 29th of February.

If you happen to get sucked in and enjoy the experience, Activision is selling the standard edition for 33% off the regular price, and the deluxe edition for 20% off. That's not a bad deal considering it unlocks the max level, which is capped at 55 in the starter pack, and gives access to the weapon paintshop, the gunsmith, emblem editor, arena, freerun mode, theater and the ubiquitous black market.

But you have only until the 29th at 1PM PST to try it out for yourself. Call of Duty has evolved considerably, making turns into new paths that some didn't quite like after Call of Duty 4, but Black Ops 3 might surprise you with the agile, fast-paced gameplay. Then again, you might completely hate it. But it's free.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Awakening DLC Already Available On Xbox One For Season Pass Owners

Call of Duty Black Ops 3, the latest entry of the series developed by Treyarch now available on consoles and PC in all regions, has received its first DLC pack, Awakening, last month on PlayStation 4. The DLC pack will finally hit Xbox One and PC tomorrow, March 3rd, but if you’re playing the game on Xbox One and have purchased the Season Pass, you can already get it.

According to a few online reports, all Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Season Pass owners can already get the Awakening DLC pack by following a simple method. While on the console’s dashboard, players need to click on the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 ad and select buy now. If the ad doesn’t appear, players only need to reboot the console or hold LT+RT+Y to refresh the dashboard. This method doesn’t seem to work in some regions and for those who haven’t purchased the Season Pass, but we’ll let you know more about the matter as soon as more comes in on it.

The game comes with some quite interesting new gameplay features, such as a main campaign that can be played with other players, the Realistic difficulty level, which puts players’ skills to the test by giving them a single point of life, and more. The online modes of the game are also getting constantly tweaked with new updates, with the latest having been released only recently.

Activision launches PS4 Call of Duty Live Event Viewer

Activision has added a Call of Duty Live Event Viewer to the main menu of the PS4 port of Call of Duty: Black Ops III.




Activision has announced the launch of the Call of Duty Live Event Viewer, a game-specific eSports streaming service integrated directly into the menu of the game's PlayStation 4 port.

Launched ahead of certain Call of Duty World League (CWL) Pro Division matches to occur this week, the Call of Duty Live Event Viewer is now accessible from an updated installation of Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Sony's Playstation 4 console. When selected from the main menu, the service allows players to view CWL matches, regular eSports broadcasts, and a range of what the company describes as 'community-focused programming' including a Game with Devs series and live streams from Treyarch.

The CWL matches themselves take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week, with players competing for a piece of the $600,000 Stage 1 prize pool. Said pool makes up part of the $3 million world-wide cash bucket available to CWL players across the world in events including the CWL Pro Division and Call of Duty Championship.

Groups competing this week include Team Infused, TCM Gaming, Splyce, Team LDLC, PuLse Gaming, Giants Gaming, Millenium [sic], Epsilon eSports, exceL eSports and Vitality. A full schedule is available on the official website.

[Original Story] Call Of Duty Black Ops 3, the latest entry of the series developed by Treyarch now available on consoles and PC in all regions, has received today a brand new update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, adding a new map to the game as well as a variety of fixes.

The Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 1.08 update introduces the Nuk3town Bonus Map for free for all those who haven’t received it by pre-ordering the game. The update also comes with a few bug fixes that should make the experience more enjoyable.

Full patch notes have yet to come in, so there might be more fixes that have yet to be confirmed. Here’s what Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar and the Activision Twitter profile have revealed so far

• Nuk3town Bonus Map added for free to all players.
• Nuk3town Bonus Map added to the main map rotation across a variety of multiplayer playlists.
• Nuk3town 24/7 Playlist added until March 28 at 10am PT.
• Nuk3town Personalization Pack added for free to all players: Includes Nuk3town themed Weapon Camo, Three Nuk3town themed weapon reticles, Nuk3town themed calling card
• Fixed bug where if a Player died by a Semtex during the HC-XD calling animation, enemy Scorestreaks would fire at the spot of death.

Earlier this month, Xbox One and PC players have finally been able to get their hands on the first Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC map pack, Awakening. The pack, which has been released on PlayStation 4 last month, includes additional multiplayer maps as well as the first chapter of a new Zombie adventure.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Modding Tools Alpha Is Right Behind The Corner, Fix For PC Audio Bug In The Works

Earlier this week, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, the latest entry of the series developed by Treyarch, has received a new update on all formats, introducing the Nuk3town map for those who haven’t pre-ordered it as well as new content, gameplay tweaks and more. The content included in the latest update is apparently not going to be the only form of free content coming to game in the near future, as a highly anticipated feature for the PC version is going to be made available soon.

A few hours ago, Treyarch’s Director of Development has revealed that the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Modtools closed alpha is right around the corner, meaning that release for all users is now closer than ever. Pcdev also added that much has changed since the team’s last map editor, which has been released for Call of Duty World at War back in 2008, so fans of the series should expect plenty of new features.

As mentioned above, the new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 update has introduced some new content, including the new HG 40 weapon. Unfortunately, the weapon comes with an audio bug in the PC version of the game, but Pcdev has confirmed a few hours ago that the team is working on a fix.
With the Awakening DLC map pack now available on all formats, Treyarch is also working on the second map pack, which has yet to be detailed in full. The previous Call of Duty Black Ops 3 map pack included additional multiplayer maps as well as the first chapter of a new Zombie adventure.

Black Ops 3 DLC 2 Unveiled Thursday; Chatting MP Maps & Zombies

Tomorrow, Thursday 31^st, players will get a first glimpse at the Black Ops 3 DLC 2.

Treyarch’s game director, Jason Blundell, will be chatting with @noahJ456 about multiplayer maps and zombies during a stream. Developer Treyarch announced the news via their official Call of Duty, and Treyarch twitter accounts.

As you probably have already seen, this Thursday (I’ll let you guys know as soon as they give me a time), I will be sitting down with Jason Blundell and asking him questions about DLC 2, previous Zombies maps, and the future of Black Ops 3!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released back in November of last year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The shooter is set in a dark, gritty future where a new breed of Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the cutting-edge military robotics that define the future of combat.
The game’s first DLC pack, Awakening, was released in February of this year. The expansion featured four new action-packed multiplayer maps, and a new Zombies experience set in a medieval Austrian castle during World War II.
“Since Black Ops III launched last month, the response from our community has been incredible in every way,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head, Treyarch. “With Awakening, the studio is focused on creating a wide variety of gameplay experiences for our fans in Multiplayer and Zombies that will keep players coming back for more.”

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC Pack Announced, Launches Next Month On PlayStation 4

Yesterday, we reported that the second Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC map pack was going to be revealed sometime today. A few minutes ago, all the details for the new additional content hitting the popular first person shooter by Treyarch have surfaced online.

The new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC pack will be called Eclipse and it will include four new multiplayer maps named Spire, Rift, Knockout and Verge, a re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map. The Eclispe DLC pack will also include a new chapter for Zombies, which will be set on a remote Pacific island.
Here’s the official descriptions for each of the new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 maps.

Spire: Spire takes Multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.

Rift: Head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Utilize the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies as you traverse the suspended rail system.
Knockout: Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a bloody Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.
Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map, Banzai, Verge drops Multiplayer combat into the center of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as you engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.

The Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC pack will be released on PlayStation 4 on April 19th. The Xbox One and PC release of the pack has yet to be dated, but it should release sometime during May.

CoD Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC Zombies Map Revealed – Zetsubou No Shima

Treyarch and Activision have finally revealed the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC Zombies map. The events of the latest Zombies saga are set on the forsaken island of ‘Zetsubou No Shima’.

Yesterday we already reported on the Eclipse DLC Pack for Black Ops 3, which will include four new multiplayer maps named Spire, Rift, Knockout and Verge, a re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map. Overnight, more details on the latest Zombies chapter for the Eclipse expansion were released, alongside an official prologue trailer.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Zombies saga continues on the forsaken island of “Zetsubou No Shima”. Follow Origins heroes Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo as they explore a secret biological research lab where experiments with Element 115 have created horrors beyond belief. Experience terrifying new enemies, more devastating traps, and classic Zombies side quests to dive deeper into the Origins storyline.

The game’s official website provided some additional information, which has been included down below. Additionally a visual of the Forsaken island of Zetsubou No Shima was released as well, which you can find at the top of this post.

In the latest chapter of the Zombies experience, the Origins characters find themselves stranded on a remote Pacific island continuing their mission to stop the Zombie apocalypse. There they will face the effects of Element 115 on human, plant and animal biology that has created horrors beyond belief. Explore diverse environments from lush, tropical forest to the stark, overgrown laboratory facility using zip lines or the sewer systems to evade the Zombie horde.

The Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC pack is the game’s 2^nd expansion, and will be released on PlayStation 4 on April 19th. The Xbox One and PC release of the pack has yet to be dated, but will probably release somewhere in May.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC Zetsubo No Shima Gameplay Trailer Surfaces Online

Last month, Activision revealed all the details on the next Call of Duty Black Ops 3 DLC map pack, which will be called Eclipse. The new DLC pack for the game developed by Treyarch will include four new multiplayer maps as well as a new chapter for Zombies called Zetsubo No Shima, set on a remote Pacific Island. A few hours ago, a new short trailer showcasing this new Zombies adventure has surfaced online.

The new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Zetsubo No Shima trailer is actually a short ad that is currently being displayed on Twitch. While the trailer is indeed short, it does a very good job in getting Call of Duty Black Ops 3 players excited with plenty of action and fearsome enemies. Among the new maps included in the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Eclipse DLC pack will be the re-imagining of a classic Call of Duty: World at War map Banzai, Verge. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Possible Future Balance Changes Revealed

Call of Duty Black Ops 3, the latest entry of the successful Call Of Duty series release last year on consoles and PC, has received multiple patches in the past months which introduce several balance changes alongside fixes and more. With the Eclipse DLC coming soon, a new patch is surely going to be released in the near future, and Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar has outlined some of the possible balance changes coming to the game.

On his official Twitter profile, Mr. Vonderhaar has revealed that the Vesper SMG is underperforming, with its current performance making it the worse gun in its class. The Razorback is also slightly underperforming, so it’s likely that they will be improved in some way in the next patch.

David Vonderhaar has also added that the M87A is fine, with a K average that’s exactly what the team expected. The Kuda and the VMP weapons are also mentioned, with Mr. Vonderahaar describing them as being quite popular, but not exactly overpowered. As he agrees with a comment from a single user, who asks the weapons to be tweaked, we should still expect some changes for them as well.
Yesterday, a couple new Call of Duty Black Ops 3 trailers have been made available online, showcasing the Zetsubo no Shima new Zombies chapter, which will be set on a remote Pacific island. Zetsubo no Shima will be available as part of the Eclipse map pack, which will also include three brand new multiplayer maps and a reimagining of a Call of Duty: World at War map. The pack will launch next week on PlayStation 4 and on a yet to be confirmed date on PC and Xbox One.
