Apple up to its anti-trust antics again

    Watchdog starts snuffling

Not contented being caught red-handed trying to raise the cost of ebooks, the fruity cargo cult Apple is attempting to sting its rivals in the music business.

Apple came late to the streaming music business with its Apple Music and to make any impact it feels it has to take out Jango, Spotify and Rhapsody without the regulators noticing. Apparently it is a big fail on the last point. Already US government antitrust regulators are looking into claims about whether Apple's treatment of rival streaming music apps is illegal under antitrust law.
Jobs' Mob provides the App Store platform for competing streaming services including Jango, Spotify, Rhapsody and others. However it demands that they pay 30 per cent and has a byzantine system of rules that they most follow.
The streaming companies are moaning that Apple's cut forces them to either charge more in the App Store than they do on other platforms or erode their profit margins.
The Federal Trade Commission is looking at the issue but has not begun a formal investigation. The agency has had meetings with multiple concerned parties, one source said. The agency meets with companies routinely, and a formal investigation may not materialize.
The Tame Apple Press has been interviewing lawyers who claim that the competitors have not got a leg to stand on because Apple never breaks the law – ever.
But it does not look like the watchdogs are going to go away. Although the 30 per cent cut is a show stopper, the rules that Apple forces its rivals to agree to are simply bizarre.
These include a prohibition on advertising in the app that the company is on other platforms, a ban on marketing in the app that consumers can also buy directly from the company's website, and a ban on linking to a company's website from within the app.
Although Google also offers a music subscription service and charges a 30 percent transaction fee in its app store, its policies for app sales have drawn less ire from rival streaming services. Industry sources say the company places fewer restrictions on those transactions.

Apple To Produce Music Videos For Apple Music Artists

Apple has been keen to step up in new and rising trends that marks its high end profits. Since the dawn of hype for Apple Music, the Cupertino giant has been i motion for to start producing music videos for top stars being hosted on its Music Streaming platform. Its been less than a month for Apple Music debut and the service currently rests on a free trial, Apple is seeking new ways to pump its game in the field.

Apple is advancing forward with the music frenzy by creating its very own artistic content for Apple Music stars. Recently, Apple has produced in-house music videos for well regarded artists such as Eminem, Pharrell and Drake. As of Apple’s nature and motive to create revolutionary ideas, one might expect the same results in music industry as well. However, what might be Apple’s plans for such diversification in the future?
Apple To Produce In-House Music videos for Apple music Artists

Moving on to the topic, Apple’s in-house hosted music videos include Eminem’s ‘Phenomenal’ and ‘Happy’ for Pharrell. The following videos were debuted on the Apple Music and as for the future plans for the current scenario, Apple is reported to produce videos for Purity ring, M.I.A and Diddy And James Bay. it seems as though the iPhone manufacturer is looking for a keen spot in the music industry except of just being a music distributor as its competitors.

    Advertisements

Apple is also planning to extend its exclusivity of content and artists which will secure a safe spot for the company. It has been previously reported that Apple is increasing new additions to its exclusivity circle which will be beneficial to both, the company and artists.

If you say that Apple is inexperienced in the field then you are most certainly wrong. Apple has an extended history of producing commercials hosted by celebrities. One of them featuring late Robin Williams, reciting stanzas from the Dead poets Society. Henceforth, Apple is familiar with all technicalities involved for the production of music videos for Apple Music stars. We hope Apple produces content with great diversity and charm to be more than just a video producer. This is it for now. Let us know how you liked the idea.

Apple has just released iTunes 12.2.1 with some bug fixes and improvements. iTunes 12.2 was released on June 30 introducing support for Apple Music, Beats 1 and Connect.

    iTunes 12.2.1 released:

Only a couple weeks after the release of iTunes 12.2, Apple has now released the first update to the iTunes. After the launch of Apple Music, various users reported bugs with iTunes as some libraries were deleted and in other cases some users were unable to even subscribe for the Apple Music. iTunes 12.2.1 aims to fixes these and other iTunes 12.2 issues. iTunes 12.2.1 seems to focus on resolving the issue where songs from iTunes Match would be classified as those from Apple Music. This resulted in “unnecessary DRM being added.”
Some bugs related to Beats 1 radio are also fixed in the latest iTunes version. This incremental maintenance update promises to improve the streaming performance for the Beat 1 online radio station. Earlier on, there were issues of dropped streams during playback that required relaunching of iTunes to fix. Here’s the complete changelog:

Fix iTunes DRM Bug the Right Way – Updating to 12.2.1 Won’t Fix It

Apple released the maintenance update to iTunes 12.2 today with iTunes 12.2.1. This update promises to resolve issues related to Apple Music and Beats 1 radio station. It also claimed to fix quite an annoying problem where iTunes Match songs were classified as Apple Music resulting in an unnecessary of addition of DRM. iTunes 12.2.1 helps in restoring non-DRMed files to your library and fix the entire classification issue.
How to fix iTunes DRM bug:

However, if you are assuming that by simply updating to the latest iTunes version would rid you of all these issues, my friend, you are being overly optimistic. Once updated, iTunes 12.2.1 will certainly shuffle your songs under Matched and Purchased categories but you might get into bigger problems. You will have to follow the procedure that Apple has outlined in the new Support document to fix this issue without deleting your purchased songs. According to the support document, iTunes will correct the songs information automatically meaning you will see the incorrectly assigned songs switched back to Apple Music within the iTunes library.

Apple also says that after the update, you can remove and download any songs that were incorrectly downloaded as Apple Music. Here’s the problem. If you delete the DRM version of the song from the library, and confirm the step, you won’t be able to get the song back in your library or anywhere else.

Simply follow Apple Music support instructions to fix iTunes DRM bug the right way [emphasis is ours]:

    1. Open iTunes 12.2.1.
    2. In the upper-left corner of iTunes, click the Music icon.
    3. Click My Music.
    4. Control-click the songs that were incorrectly downloaded as Apple Music, then choose Remove Download.
    5. Control-click the same songs, then choose Make Available Offline to download them again correctly as Matched songs.
There’s also a workaround to find the accidentally deleted tracks:

    • Go to your iTunes Account
    • Click on Account Info > iTunes in the Cloud
    • Tap on Hidden Purchases > Manage.
    • You will see the deleted tracks here. Click on Unhide them.
    • Next, go to iTunes Preferences > uncheck iCloud Music Library > OK.
    • Simply click on the download button to restore the accidentally deleted tracks.
    • Go back into iTunes Preferences > check iCloud Music Library back > OK.

No more FairPlay DRM or the mess of deleted songs.

Master Apple Music With These Little-Known Tips & Tricks

There are only a few services in the market that explode into public consciousness and Apple Music is one of them. Judging by the prevailing juggernaut of marketing and existing millions of users on iTunes, Apple sure has some strong bases to support its new music streaming service. Launching later this year for Android, Apple Music is only limited to iOS platform alone or Apple’s ecosystem as a whole.

Apple charges a mere $9.99 a month per individual and $14.99 a month for up to six family members. Later this year, the music streaming service is also set to make a move to Android and Apple TV access. Currently. Apple has provided its users with a three month trial which will end in September. Apple Music does not feature a free ad tier service like Spotify but it does let users take advantage of free beats 1 radio station. However, if you frequently use Apple Music, you’re unaware of some tricks and tips that can maximize your experience.
Tips And Tricks for A Better Apple Music Experience

Whether you shifted from Beats Music, Spotify or iTunes Radio, Apple Music has something unique to offer. Even though some might regard it as confusing and cumbersome to control, Apple Music require a bit steeper yet observing learning edge that differs from most other Apple products. The key is to know some tips and tricks for more control and access to the streaming service. This is exactly we’re here for, letting you good people know some unearthed tricks so you can listen to your Music in an efficient yet productive manner. So let the tips and tricks unleash.
    Like or Love?

On music streaming applications like Spotify and Apple Music, results are musically mined and recommended according to your preferences. Apple Music asks you from get-go to suggest songs from the desired artists and categories when you tap ‘For You’. If you change your mind and want to make changes later tap the head icon >> and Choose Artists For you. On the screen, pink bubbles will appear with musical genres and artists. Single Tap on bubble will let Apple know that you liked it. However, Double Tap enables Apple to know that you love the singer, band or category. This aspect will be heavily concerned when Apple Music provides you with suggestions. If you hate a specific artist, just tap and keep holding it to get it away with.

    Let Siri Be Your Guide

One of the most awesome features in iOS is Siri. Not only does it aid you in other parts of the system, it has a great role to play in the music. You can find songs in Apple Music via voice commands. ”Find Remember the Name by Fort Minor” and it just brought it up. You can also shuffle the songs at will via Siri, activate Siri in Playlist and say ‘Shuffle’, that’s all it takes. Above all, you might as well know that Siri has a built in Shazam, so ask Siri to name the tune playing in the background and once it does so, immediately press the arrow key to start instant playback.

    Replace ‘Connect’ With ‘Playlist’

Some of you have everything to do with Apple’s music playback but absolutely nothing to do with Connect social network where artists post stuff about their professional lives, music launches and other stuff. Luckily, Apple has provided a solution to the Connect’s tab removal. Open up Settings >> General >> Restrictions and toggle the Apple Music Connect. This will replace the Connect tab with playlist.
    Wake Up With A Song

Even though we have alarms in our iPhone and other devices but how cool is that you wake up to a song. All you have to do is add a song to My Music and then open Clock >> Alarms. After this, you can can either edit an already existing alarm or add a new one. Now, from where you pick the alarm tone, there is an option to pick a song from Apple Music. Add any song you like and set it as an alarm tone. Waking up to your favorite song is priceless!

    Locally Stored Music

The confusing thing about Apple Music is that it merges local audio tracks stored in iTunes with it library that constitutes millions of songs. To view songs stored in just your iOS device, tap the Artists Menu located at the top of my Music Tab. Then all you have to do is toggle the Music Available Offline switch on. All songs stored on your iOS will stay where they are and the rest would disappear.

    Mixing Is Good

The ellipses at the end of the song, album or artist shows options that enables you to add it to a playlist, buy the song in iTunes or share it on a social feed. If you want a quick mix of songs that stays below the playlist level then you can queue them by selecting ‘Add To Up Next’. You will find these songs in the full screen Now Playing Menu when you tab the list icon. The small bar helps the songs rearrange according to your preferences. The songs can be deleted, rearranged and changed as well. So make the most of this option.

Beats 1 Listens To Your Requests

Just like a traditional radio where you could call in or leave a request for your song, Apple has kept the legacy alive. You can request your song to be played on the Beats 1 radio station and it doesn’t require much hard work. The terrestrial radio fashion goes on. All you have to do is head over to the tumblr page for Apple beats 1 (http://applemusic.tumblr.com/requests) and search your country and Presto! Make the world listen to your song.
    Save For Offline Listening

This tip enables you to download songs so you can listen while not connected to a Wi-Fi. Tap the More Menu alongside any artist, song or an album in My Music section and choose Make Available offline. This will cache song data so you can listen to your songs while not connected to your Wi-Fi.

    Manage Musicians You Follow

When you add music to your library, Apple Music automatically follows them to your Apple Music. These artists are then shown up in the Connect tab. If you want to manage people you follow on Connect then open your profile using the icon on the top left side of the display. Select following to view the list for people you follow. From this point, ‘unfollow’ people you don’t like and left the remaining as they are. Its a pretty neat way to manage your Connect Tab.

    The Download Progress

When we first told you that you can save songs for offline listening, you can also see the download progress. The download progress bar is located at the top of the tabs in the Music App. It will tell you the progress of how much a song is remaining to be downloaded.

These are some of the tips and tricks that you should know about which will directly or indirectly enhance your experience with Apple Music. If you have some more suggestions regarding the very scenario, then please feel free to share it in the comments below. As for now, this is it. Let us know if by any mean these tips and tricks aided you for a better experience.

Senator Urges DOJ And FTC To Investigate Apple Music

If this senator has his way, Apple could be investigated for anticompetitive behavior in the music streaming market.

"Increased competition in the music streaming market should mean that consumers will ultimately benefit through more choices of better products and at lower prices," wrote Sen. Franken. "I am concerned, however, that Apple’s position as a dominant platform operator may actually undermine many of the potential consumer benefits of its entry into the market. To protect consumer choice and promote greater transparency of pricing, I ask that you review Apple’s business practices with respect to its competitors in the music streaming market."

Pandora Has Seen No Loss In Traffic From Apple Music Debut

People have moved from CD’s to different players for their keen interest in music while the most recent trend shifted to music streaming services. Streaming music has become an on-going phenomenon where users get an edge to access millions of songs at their fingertips. No more downloading hassle when users can favorite songs for offline listening. The most recent addition to the music streaming service is Apple Music.

In an immense competitive market, Apple Music is company’s first attempt in the music industry. Previous speculations entails that Apple Music will have an impact over others of its kind, like Spotify, Pandora, Xbox Music, Rdio and others. However, Pandora’s CEO says that there is ‘no impact’ on the company after the launch of Apple Music.
Pandora Sees No Threat From Apple Music?

Brian McAndrews, Pandora’s CEO said that the company has seen ‘no impact’ after the debut of Apple Music on 30th of June. Maybe its too soon to judge Apple Music since its still an infant in comparison to Pandora. Brian McAndrew is aware of user’s will to try Apple Music, he does not worry about any long-term changes. Brian stated:
“In terms of Apple Music, of course it launched at the end of June, so there was no impact yet,” he said. “Going forward, we feel really good about our trajectory and competitive position. With any big launch like this and the noise in the marketplace, there could be some users that experiment with it and there could be some short term impact… But we don’t believe that there will be any long-term impact.“

Even though Pandora lost $16.1 million in the June quarter, the music streaming company is still going strong with advertising revenues increasing at the rate of 30 percent a year and $285.6 million generated from the custom radio outlet. the company has command over its services and it knows what the user desires.

Pandora is a radio station where listeners have control over the content and they can customize that content to create their own list of songs from their favorite artists. Apple Music’s Beats 1 is more like a traditional radio station where users have little or no control over whats being played. Yes, you can request a song to be played but that’s the most of what users can get from the radio service.
As mentioned before, Apple Music is yet at its growth stage and Pandora has been on the maturity stage for quite some time. It might not be the right time to judge, after all, its Apple what we’re dealing with. The true effect can be revealed months ahead from now when other companies and Apple Music as well release details over their share in the industry. That’s it for now, let us know your views about Apple Music in the comments.

T-Mobile Adds Free Apple Music Streaming, Free Upgrade To iPhone 6s

T-Mobile has just announced that it is bringing free Apple Music streaming to all its users through its Music Freedom initiative. But that’s not all, T-Mobile is upping its game significantly by offering a free upgrade to the iPhone 6s for those who have purchased the iPhone 6 from the carrier itself.
T-Mobile has been making huge strides in the mobile space when it comes to freedom it offers to its user-base. And today’s announcement comes as a huge treat to those who have signed up for Cupertino’s Apple Music service. As part of its Music Freedom initiative, users will be able to stream Apple Music as much as they want for free, adding on top of the already free iTunes Radio which T-Mobile already offers. T-Mobile already currently supports free streaming of music from 33 services, and the addition of Apple Music to the roster is indeed a welcome move. Keep one thing in mind though, you will be required to pay the $9.99 fee when Apple Music exits its trial period, it’s just so that you won’t have to pay the data fee for streaming.

But the fun doesn’t end there: if you buy an iPhone 6 this summer from T-Mobile, the carrier will upgrade you to the next-generation iPhone absolutely free – no strings attached. But it should be made clear that the offer needs to be availed before the end of the year, once that time period is up, users will be required to pay the upgrade fee, therefore it’s highly recommended users set a reminder for September, if they’re planning to upgrade of course. Users are required to buy the iPhone 6 using T-Mobile’s JUMP! on Demand program if you want to take advantage of this offer.

The Cupertino giant launched Apple Music as part of iOS 8.4 download, and later on, the service made its debut on iOS 9 with the release of beta 3. It’s very clear from Apple’s push that the company wants to take its music streaming initiative to new heights as it strides into the future.
On the other hand, the iPhone 6s is slated for debut in September, and it’s also rumored that the handset would be accompanied by a smaller, 4-inch iPhone 6c, but that plan could change if different analysts are to be believed. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are rumored to feature a Force Touch display along with a faster processor, faster LTE chip and a slightly better structural integrity.
    Roll forward September!

Report: Apple Music already has 10 million users testing the service

Apple Music launched on June 30 and has quickly amassed more than 10 million subscribers, according to a report published by Hitsdailydouble.com.

The website spoke with anonymous sources inside a few major record labels, as Apple doesn't release those types of figures publicly. Each new member can enjoy a three-month free trial of the service, so it will be interesting to see how many subscribers stick around following the trial period.

The entry-level plan costs $9.99 per month, and a $14.99 per month family plan allows for up to six users to enjoy the streaming music service.

Unlike Spotify, Pandora and other services, Apple Music doesn't support a free offering beyond the trial period.

Are you trying out Apple Music with a three-month free trial?

Despite number of users, is Apple Music shaping up to be a disaster?

Apple Music has successfully generated a lot of interest, but it's easy to find vocal critics willing to share some of the horror stories they've endured so far.

One longtime Apple "watcher" explained how he lost more than 4,000 songs after the app on his phone gave him complicated and confusing settings. After some tinkering, he was reportedly able to get most of the songs back. Tech analyst Ben Thompson believes Apple Music is something the company released to the public because executives may have thought it was necessary - with other users reporting it is underwhelming.

Of course, some of you responded that you've had no problems while testing the streaming music service. So, the jury is clearly still out as to whether or not Apple Music will be a major success, or end up being nothing more than a dud.

Last week, it was reported Apple Music currently has 10 million users, testing the service with a three-month free trial. As more people sign up for a free trial, it will be fascinating to see how many people are willing to actually remain with the service once their free trial is finished.

Turn Off Apple Music On iPhone, iPad, Mac OS X – How To

Don’t use Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad or your Mac? Here’s how you can turn it off completely and turn things to how they were before the service didn’t existed.

Apple made a huge song and dance about its new music service service when it was first announced at this year’s WWDC. Making its debut as part of iOS 8.4, the service was greeted with wide open arms by the tech community in general, but there exists a small subset of users who aren’t keen on the Cupertino company’s new creation and would rather do without it, or go for third-party services such as Spotify. If you fall onto the the latter category of users then you might want to turn off Apple Music for good on your iOS device or your Mac, and we’ll show you how it can be done.
Turn Off Apple Music On iOS

    1. First and foremost, launch the Settings app from your home screen.
    2. Scroll down till you find a preference called ‘Music.’ Tap on it to open.

    3. Up top you’ll see a toggle switch for ‘Apple Music.’ Simply tap on it to turn the switch off.

With that done, Apple Music is now completely turned off on your iPhone or iPad and you won’t find any traces of it inside the Music app.

Turn Off Apple Music On Mac OS X

    1. Launch iTunes.
    2. Once iTunes has launched and loaded up completely, click on ‘iTunes’ in the menu bar at the top, and then click on ‘Preferences.’

    3. A new window will open up. Under the ‘General’ settings, there’s an option for ‘Show Apple Music’ at the top. Simply click to uncheck it and you’ll end with an Apple Music-free version of iTunes on your Mac.

That’s it, you’re done, you have successfully disabled Apple Music both on your iOS devices and your Mac as well. But if for some reason you want to jump back onto Apple Music again, then simply follow the steps written above and undo the changes.
Apple Music is the Cupertino company’s first ever venture into the world of streaming music. And while the company revolutionized the world of music with iTunes, iPod and subsequently its latest range of iOS devices, music streaming for a one-off fee was something which a huge set of users have been waiting for.
In our course of using Apple Music on our devices, it’s safe to report that the service is off to a solid start. Of course, there are a few rough edges here and there, but we’re certain that it’s something a software update can easily fix.
Apple Music is currently in its trial period, and when that ends, users will be required to pay $9.99 a month to keep on going with the service. If you want to sign-up for Apple Music, then be sure to check out our guide on it.

How To Buy Songs From Apple Music On iOS, Mac

Like a song on Apple Music and want to buy it? Here’s how you can do just that on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or your Mac. Using this process, you’ll end up with a song which will forever live in your music library, even if you don’t want to carry on with your Apple Music subscription later on.

Apple’s jump into the world of music streaming is a rather unsurprising one, and it has its fair share of caveats. For instance, there’s the thing with DRM and Apple Music over which users can’t wrap their heads around. Then there’s how iCloud handles our music library across devices. Add all those problems together and you end up with a monster which a small subset of users can’t get over with.
Even after Apple Music, there are users who love to ‘own’ their music, with tracks sitting snuggly in their cloud library, ready to be downloaded at a moment’s notice. It’s something which people want, and don’t miss a chance to admit it. That’s why we’re going to walk you through the process of buying a track which you’re listening on Apple Music on iOS and the Mac both.
Buy Music Tracks From Apple Music On iOS

    1. Launch the Music app from your home screen on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
    2. Search for the track you want to buy.
    3. Play the track.
    4. Now tap on the ‘three dots’ button to bring up additional options for the track that is playing.

    5. Now tap on the ‘Show in iTunes Store’ option. This will launch the iTunes app on your device and will take you straight to the track which you want to buy.

    6. Tap on the ‘price tag’ button next to the track. And that’s it, the track is now officially yours, completely DRM free, ready to be downloaded on all of your devices signed into the same iCloud account from which you bought it.

Buy Music Tracks From Apple Music On Mac

    1. Launch the iTunes app on your Mac.
    2. Just like on iOS, search for the track on Apple Music which you want to buy.
    3. Again, click on the ‘three dots’ button to bring up additional options.
    4. Click on the ‘Show in iTunes Store’ option.

    5. Now click on the ‘price tag’ button next to the track to buy it.

Apple Music is a great way to consume music content, but for some users, it’s not exactly their cup of tea. While Apple has invested a great deal of effort to make sure that every user is well catered for, the company still has a long way to go in convincing people that their new service is the one-stop deal for all things music.

Taylor Swift praises Apple Music, but still is no fan of Spotify

Taylor Swift initially didn't want her music available on Apple Music, and once Apple caved regarding payments to artists, decided to allow her music to be streamed.

All of this happened before Apple Music even launched, and revealed how powerful the 25-year-old is in the music industry. Swift recently praised Apple while criticizing Spotify:

"Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about," Swift said in the September issue of Vanity Fair. "And I found it really ironic that the multi-billion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the start-up with no cash flow reacted to criticism like a corporate machine."

Swift is describing Spotify as the "start-up with no cash flow," as Swift and Spotify never seemed to get along with one another. No, you probably won't be able to stream Swift's music through Spotify any time soon.

Apple Music Now Has 11 Million Subscribers

In a recently published interview, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, Eddy Cue, revealed that Apple Music has reached 11 million free trial subscribers since the service went live in July. The service made its debut with iOS 8.4, before ultimately making its way to iTunes and iOS 9 later on.

The most interesting thing here is that out of those 11 million users, 2 million have subscribed to the company’s Family Plan option, which allows up to six people to share a single Apple Music account for a flat price of just $14.99 a month. But of course, at this given time, the Family Plan users are also enjoying the service for free.
To put things into higher contrast, Spotify, Apple Music’s key rival, currently has 70 million active users, out of which 20 million are paying for the service. The Cupertino giant’s second competitor, Pandora, claims that it has 80 million users. With the competition touting such big numbers, it would be interesting to see where Apple would stand once the trial period ends. Will users stick to Apple Music, or defect to the competition, remains to be seen.

Apple Music was given a warm welcome when it first launched back in July, and since then, the service has been through a few rough patches with things now lying on the reliable side of the fence in terms of usability. But along with its music streaming credentials, Apple also kicked off a new 24/7 live radio station dubbed as Beats 1. The station is run and hosted by big names in the music industry such as Zane Lowe, Dr. Dre etc. and has garnered a lot of attention from users around the world.
Apple Music is currently in its free trial period and signing up is a very easy process. Once your trial period ends, Apple will bill you for each month you utilize on the service. If you only want to keep yourself limited to the trial period, and don’t want to be billed for Apple Music, then be sure to check out our guide posted here on how to disable automatic payment renewal.
If you’re a subscriber for Apple Music, do let us know what you think about the Cupertino’s newfound music streaming service. Do you believe it has a bright future, or will it be overshadowed by already-established names in the industry such as Spotify? Do share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.

How To Save Apple Music Songs For Offline Listening On iPhone, iPad, Mac

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to save Apple Music songs for offline listening on iPhone, iPad or Mac. This is extremely handy for users if they want to save on data charges on the go.

Apple Music is a great way to consume music based content, but there’s one problem with the whole deal: it needs an Internet connection if you’re going to flint through tracks. And since it does require a data connection, it means that those on cellular are going to incur a serious bill if they go overboard when it comes to their usage. But did you know that you can actually save tracks from Apple Music for offline listening? That’s right, you can, and we’ll show you how on iOS and Mac both.
    Enable iCloud Music Library First

    iOS:
    1. Launch the Settings app from your home screen.
    2. Scroll down to ‘Music’ and tap on it, and then enable the ‘iCloud Music Library’ option.

    Mac:
    1. Launch iTunes.
    2. Click on iTunes in the menu bar then ‘Preferences.’
    3. Click on the ‘General’ tab and then enable ‘iCloud Music Library.’

Save Apple Music Songs For Offline Listening On iOS

    1. Launch the Music app from your home screen.
    2. Find the track you wish to make available offline.
    3. Tap the three dots button to bring up additional options and then tap on ‘Make Available Offline.’

That’s it, your track will be available offline as long as your Apple Music subscription is active, hence, when the service expires, then the tracks won’t be available offline, so keep that in mind.
Save Apple Music Songs For Offline Listening On Mac

    1. Launch iTunes.
    2. Search for the track you wish to make available offline for listening.
    3. Click on the three dots button to bring up additional options, then click on ‘Add to My Music.’

    4. Click on the ‘My Music’ tab in iTunes and find the track you just saved in your library.

    5. Right click on the album cover and simply click on ‘Make Available Offline.’

If you have a choppy Internet connection or are about to hit a dead end on your cellular data limit, then we highly suggest that you go through the above steps for making tracks available offline.
Apple Music still has a long way to go to truly capture the hearts of millions of potential users out there. As how things stand, Apple Music has 11 million subscribers during its free three-month trial period. It would be interesting to see how that number changes once the trial period ends.
