OS X 10.11 El Capitan Public Beta 5 Released

Apple has just released OS X 10.11 El Capitan Public Beta 5 to testers, and is immediately available to download. The update is available to those enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program.

The update arrives just two weeks after Public Beta 4 was released, and comes packed with bug fixes and performance enhancements. Those enrolled in Apple’s Beta Software Program can grab the update right away from the Mac App Store under the Updates tab.
It’s highly likely that today’s release comes loaded with the same patches and changes which Apple implemented in the sixth developer beta of OS X El Capitan, so users shouldn’t be too surprised to see little to no changes at all in this Public Beta build.
OS X 10.11 El Capitan final build is set for release later this year, and will likely arrive with iOS 9 and Cupertino’s brand new handsets in the form of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. Furthermore, if a recent leak is to be believed, then it’s highly possible that Apple will also release a 4K 21.5-inch iMac to compliment the El Capitan OS.




OS X 10.11 is more like a power user update from the Cupertino giant, and comes loaded with features that are bound to enhance the overall experience of the user. It builds on top of the solid foundation of OS X Yosemite, but refines it even further with great features such as full-screen multitasking, an improved Safari browser with pinned tabs and more.
Apple has implemented new technologies in OS X El Capitan that will further enhance how developers create apps for the platform, by giving them raw access to the underlying Mac hardware. OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 7 For Developers Now Available

OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 7 for developers is now available to download. The new developer beta build arrives exactly two weeks after the sixth beta was seeded.

Yesterday, Apple made OS X El Capitan Public Beta 5 available to those enrolled in the company’s Beta Software Program, but for reasons unknown, the Cupertino giant opted to pull the update altogether. But today, apart from the developer oriented beta, Apple has seeded the fifth Public Beta to end users as well, again.
Grabbing both the updates is fairly simple. Launch the Mac App Store, click on the ‘Updates’ tab up top. Wait for the page to load up and after a few seconds the update will be presented to you for download. Simply click on the ‘Update’ button on the right to initiate the download. And like any other major software release, users will be required to restart their Mac to complete the installation process.
We highly recommend that users go ahead and update their machines right away as new pre-release builds tend to bring with them a lot of bug fixes and performance enhancements.




Since this is a new beta from Apple, there’s a high chance that the company might have slipped in a few surprises for us to find. But on the face of things, it seems as though that the changes all lie under the hood. But still, we will definitely keep a lookout for changes and update this post as soon as we find something noteworthy.
The final build of OS X 10.11 El Capitan will be rolled out later this year, or more precisely, this fall. The update will be absolutely free for all Mac users, and as always, it will be available as an over-the-air update right from the Mac App Store.

OS X 10.11 El Capitan Recovery Update Now Available

Apple has just released a Recovery Update for OS X 10.11 El Capitan beta users. It’s a minor update and is available to download immediately.

The Recovery Update is essential to those who are running the beta version of OS X 10.11 El Capitan right now. The OS X Recovery is an essential part of how a Mac works, and is required if you’re taking the route to repair your disk, reinstalling OS X, or just recovering from a Time Machine backup. In short, when things go south, you’ll be turning your stern towards the OS X Recovery to make things right again. And there’s nothing worse than a non-functioning OS X Recovery when you need it the most, so update away right now.
The Recovery Update is available to download directly from the Mac App Store, and is available like any other system or app update. OS X 10.11 El Capitan Beta 8, Public Beta 6 Released

Apple has released OS X 10.11 El Capitan beta 8 for registered developers, and Public Beta 6 for those enrolled in the company’s Beta Software Program. Both are available to download immediately, and are highly recommended for anyone running any prior release of OS X El Capitan.

Apple has been rolling out El Capitan beta releases on a steady basis. With beta 8 out now for developers, and Public Beta 6 available to those enrolled in the company’s Beta Software Program, it’s highly likely that these will be the last two pre-release builds of Cupertino’s desktop operating system.
If you’re already running one of the two beta builds on your Mac, then grabbing the latest update is a piece of cake. Simply launch the Mac App Store, click on the ‘Updates’ tab up top, and wait for the update to show up. Click on the ‘Update’ button to the right to initiate the download process. Once done, you’ll be required to restart your Mac to finish everything off.
Like previous pre-release builds, this one brings with it nothing new, and is solely meant to fix lingering bugs and enhance performance across the board. So if you’ve been tapping your feet on the ground hoping to find something new, then you be a little disappointed.

OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan Beta 5 Now Available (Update: Public Beta Too)

After a pause of over a week, Apple has just seeded OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan beta 5 and is now immediately available to download from the Mac App Store.

Apple has been rolling out beta software on a regular basis since the past few weeks with the exception of the last one, hinting towards the fact that we might finally see a big release on the consumer end. But luckily, Apple has chosen to take the pre-release route once again as the company saw it fit to release OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan beta 5 to registered developers.
If you have one of the previous betas of OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan installed on your Mac then we highly recommend that you update to the latest build without giving it a second thought. Simply connect your Mac to a stable WiFi connection, launch the Mac App Store and grab the update by clicking on the Updates tab. Depending on the age of your Mac and the speed of your Internet connection, the installation process can take between a few minutes going up to an hour. Exercise patience during this time, that’s all we can say.

Apple Seeds First OS X 10.11.4 Public Beta to Testers

Apple has started seeding the OS X 10.11.4 beta 1 to public testers today. The first public beta comes only a few days after the test build was released to the developers.

For those of you registered with Apple’s beta testing program, the new OS X 10.11.4 beta is available in the Mac’s App Store. Simply go to Software Update to get the latest beta on your own MacBooks. Bringing no major design features, OS X 10.11.4 and OS X 10.11.3 focus on performance enhancements, bug fixes, and under the hood optimizations. Apple has released both the OS X 10.11.4 and OS X 10.11.3 betas to developers and now to public testers as well. OS X 10.11.3 is expected to be released to the public very soon.
With the OS X 10.11.4 public beta release, testers will be able to experience Live Photo viewing and sharing in Messages, secure password protection for notes in the Notes app, and other smaller improvements..

The last update coming to public was OS X 10.11.2 which was rolled out over a month ago on December, 8th. OS X 10.11.2 was the second update to the El Capitan bringing some major bug fixes including fixes to Office 2016. The software had also brought in new emoji, among other things:
