    Microsoft Lumia 940 XL

Microsoft’s Got The Snapdragon 810 All Ready For Lumia 940 XL

Despite its apparent shortcomings, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 is far from being dead. The company does have serious clout in the industry after all, and more and more manufacturers seem to be adopting its high end silicon for their devices. Apparently, the Snapdragon 810 will also be making an appearance on Microsoft’s soon to be expected Lumia 940 XL, which should also see its launch feature Windows 10 for Mobile.

Lumia 940 XL Leaks On GFXBench With Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 On Board

Looks like Microsoft’s eager to make its Lumia range successful on all accounts and equipping the Lumia 940 XL with the Snapdragon 810 is one way of the company ensuring that its device won’t be behind others when it comes to processing power. The Lumia 940 XL has leaked in its entirety on GFXBench today, and we get to know what to expect from Microsoft’s device in its entirety today. According to GFXBench, the Lumia 940 XL will be coming with a 5.7 inch screen, coupled with a screen resolution of 2559 x 1440.

This will be paired with 1.5 GB RAM to complement the octa core Snapdragon 810 CPU on board. Internal storage for the device will be 14 GB, which seems a little too less if you ask us. Rear camera specifications for the device are impressive, with the 940 XL listed with a 17 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. It’ll also be supporting 4K video recording, courtesy of the Snapdragon 810 on board. The Lumia 940 XL is also listed with the Adreno 430, which makes us believe that the device will indeed be coming with Qualcomm’s infamous chipset. Lets see if Microsoft can succeed where others have failed and stop the Snapdragon 810 from overheating. We’ll keep you updated as this develops. Stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. It shouldn’t be long before we should see Windows 10 for Mobile reach its final stages.

Microsoft Lumia 940 XL Sports QHD Displays, Snapdragon 810 And Windows 10 Mobile

Rumors have been swirling about the Microsoft's still unannounced Lumia 940 XL, though thanks to multiple leaks, we have at least a rough idea of what to expect. The latest leak comes from data plucked out of AdDuplex, a cross platform promotion network for Windows Phone and Windows Store apps that lets developers promote their software.

The data points to a Microsoft RM-1000 device with a 2560x1440 (2K) resolution display. It's believed this is referring to the Lumia 940 XL, and based on previous rumors, it's expected the handset will debut with a 5.7-inch display.

Microsoft's Lumia 940 and 940 XL will be significant upgrades of the Lumia 640 shown above

Microsoft's Lumia 940 XL has already appeared on benchmarking site GFXBench, and if the stats are correct, it will wield a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. Other rumored specs include 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 20MP PureView camera, and 5MP front-facing camera.

While AdDuplex didn't confirm the size of the Lumia 940 XL's display, it did have an additional listing for the non-XL version, which it lists as having a 5.2-inch screen with a Full HD 1080p resolution. Other details aren't yet known, though according to GFXBench's listing, the Lumia 940 will sport a Snapdragon 808 System-on-Chip.

Both of these devices are expected to run Windows 10 for Mobile.

Lumia 940 And 940 XL Rumored To Be More Expensive Than iPhone 6

According to the latest rumor, both Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, which are going to be Microsoft’s upcoming flagship smartphone duo are going to be much more expensive in comparison to the starting price of both Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6. In addition to Lumia and Lumia 940 XL, Microsoft also plans on releasing a boatload of Windows handsets this year.
Unlike current generation flagship smartphones, which are incorporated with metal builds, both Windows mobile devices will feature a polycarbonate chassis, which begs the question, ‘Is Microsoft looking to rake tons of profit from its upcoming devices?’.

Lumia 940 And Lumia 940 XL Are Also Rumored To Feature A Retinal Scanner And Triple LED Flash

According to the source that sprouted up the rumor in the first place, both Lumia and Lumia 940 XL are going to be running a retinal scanner and triple LED flash function. The triple LED flash feature has been stated here because both the handsets are expected to feature a front facing LED, which we are confident will be putting smiles on to the faces of several smartphone consumers who have a severe affinity for taking selfies.
