Quest for Crystals in Final Fantasy Explorers on 3DS, Coming Soon to North America and Europe

The Nintendo 3DS is getting one more unique Final Fantasy game to call it’s own. Final Fantasy Explorers, an action RPG, is finally on its way to North America after enjoying seven months as a Japan only game.



Final Fantasy Explorers sets you off with your friends to search for rare crystals on January 26th 2016. Be wary good traveler!

In Final Fantasy Explorers, you’ll be able to play with three of your friends on the Nintendo 3DS to search for a very precious resource, crystals. You can also go it alone if you so choose. You’ll be thrustinto dungeons to collect crystals scattered throughout the world while battling the classic enemies we’re familiar with from the franchise.




Final Fantasy Explorers focuses on multiplayer with your friends, fellow explorers, and utilizes a refined party system that allows for your explorer to master over 20 new and familiar jobs, things like the Knight, Monk, Black Mage and White Mage, in order to defeat the most deadly of monsters and possibly even recruit them for battle. Players will have the ability to call upon the powers of eidolons like Ifrit and Bahamut, and of course you’ll be able to transform into other legendary characters from the Final Fantasy series by using the Trance feature.

The world is on the brink of war over its reserves of crystals, the planet’s chief source of power. Players must band together to form an elite squad of Explorers on an island rich in crystals, braving hordes of monsters in hopes of conquering a newly discovered Grand Crystal – every Explorer’s dream.

Final Fantasy Explorers probes its way onto the 3DS today

Final Fantasy Explorers is finally out for the 3DS in the west, and it lets you take on some familiar roles while you quest for that blasted Grand Crystal that seems to always be needed.






The quest for the Grand Crystal, a recurring theme in Final Fantasy lore, is crucial for the stability of the world. And you certainly can't go it alone, so you'll be able to take up to four different players, other humans via the Nintendo Network or even locally. Connect, then go forth and explore the world.

There'll be 20 classic and highly customizable jobs that you can choose from. Be a Dragoon (like the legendary Kain), Black Mage, Paladin and much more. You'll be limited to eight skills that you'll be able to use, though. But those skills you use? They can be available in other jobs too, when you master them. And if you're feeling frisky and like a fight, you'll have the chance to turn into some legendary Final Fantasy heroes from other games, like Cloud and Tifa.

Square Enix promises more than 200 quests and a tremendous amount of content to keep you busy for hours on end. It'll practically be never-ending, even when you do find that mysterious and important Grand Crystal.
