Netflix to add auto-play videos on its home screen
Noticia:To help you get in the mood or seal the deal when you're deciding what to watch, Netflix will soon be adding auto-play video trailers to your home screen whenever you're hovering over a movie, TV show or documentary.
As seen on Gizmodo, there was a bit of discussion based on advancements to the whole Netflix user experience at MWC 2016, particularly that of the home screen and how users choose what media to watch. This auto-play trailer feature is said to be taken from 'traditional' TV practices, meaning that there is always something engaging happening on the screen.
This announcement comes alongside our recently discussed mobile data saving feature, with these features both said to be currently in beta testing.

Marvel's 'Luke Cage' will debut on Netflix on September 30Noticia:Marvel has been having a great run with its shows on Netflix, with Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but Luke Cage is right around the corner - with a debut date of September 30.
After the events of Jessica Jones, Cage moves to Harlem where he will have enemies in Black Mariah and Cottonmouth. After what I saw of Luke Cage in Jessica Jones, I think that we'll see yet another huge hit within the show for both Netflix and Marvel.

Netflix reportedly shells out $90 million for Bright, with Will Smith
Noticia:Netflix is spending more money, securing the rights to Bright in a bidding match with Warner Bros./MGM and PalmStar.
Bright is pitched as an R-rated thriller with fantasy elements, costing Netflix a reported $90 million. The streaming giant just secured the rights to War Machine with Brad Pitt recently, to the tune of $60 million, so Netflix is spending big in order to have the names Brad Pitt and Will Smith on its content.
Smith will reportedly play a cop partnered with an orc, who will be played by Aussie actor John Edgerton. $45 million of the total cost will be used to shoot it, with $45 million being spent on talent, and the back end residual fees Netflix won't get because of its anticipated limited cinema release.
Max Landis wrote the script, with Suicide Squad director David Ayer will reportedly get behind the camera on Bright. Ayer and Smith recently worked on Suicide Squad together, which is a nice little combination of director/actor.

These are the Smart TVs that have received Netflix's 'Recommended' awardNoticia:
Last year, Netflix introduced its ‘Recommended TV’ program as a way for consumers to identify the televisions that "deliver a superior smart TV experience.” This year, the streaming service has made it much more difficult for models to be awarded the label by introducing a stricter set of criteria.
TVs that can be considered for Netflix’s 2016 'Recommended' designation must come with at least five of the following seven features: TV instant on (TV quickly wakes up and apps ready to use instantly), TV resume (TV wakes to the same place it was at when turned off), latest version of Netflix installed, fast app launch, fast app resume, controller has a dedicated Netflix button, easy Netflix icon access.
The company emphasized the fact that only the best Smart TVs would be considered for its ‘Recommended TV’ award this year.“None of last year's TV models would have met the new 2016 criteria,” Netflix said.
So far, only two manufacturers have earned the logo: Sony and LG. It is important to mention, however, that companies can choose not to participate in the program. Samsung has never taken part in the ‘Recommended’ testing, stating that it doesn’t want to show preference to just one service.
As is evident by the required criteria, TVs that promote Netflix with features such as a dedicated remote button are more likely to be awarded the ‘Recommended’ logo. While the program is partly a way for the company to promote itself, a TV that wins Netflix's seal of approval can give consumers an indication of its performance.
As pointed out by Variety, one of the reasons why there are so few models on this year’s list (so far) is because Netflix reduced the maximum time allowed for TVs to perform certain tasks.
These are Netflix’s Recommended TVs of 2016:
LG 2016 4K UHD TVs with webOS 3.0: UH6300 series, UH6500 series, UH7500 series, UH8500 series, UH9500 series, G6 series.
Sony 2016 Android 4K UHD TVs: X85D series, X93D series, X94D series.
Additional models and brands will be added as they become available and are evaluated.

Helping Netflix Members Get More from Their Mobile Data Plans
Noticia:So, is this an issue for you guys or do you think Netflix is doing the right thing here? Personally, I don't know why you just can't have a setting that allows you to toggle this on or off.
We believe restrictive data caps are bad for consumers and the Internet in general, creating a dilemma for those who increasingly rely on their mobile devices for entertainment, work and more. So in an effort to protect our members from overage charges when they exceed mobile data caps, our default bitrate for viewing over mobile networks has been capped globally at 600 kilobits per second. It’s about striking a balance that ensures a good streaming experience while avoiding unplanned fines from mobile providers.

Netflix Owns Up To Throttling Verizon And AT&T Customers Following T-Mobile Callout
Noticia:
Netflix is catching some heat after the video streaming service acknowledged that it's been throttling the quality of its video streams to most wireless carriers around the world, including AT&T and Verizon, the two biggest wireless carriers in the United States. Interestingly enough it was T-Mobile's outspoken boss John Legere who unintentionally threw Netflix under the bus.
Legere posted a 5 minute video to YouTube bragging about bringing YouTube on board as its latest BingeOn partner, along with various other video services. Before Legere got around to actually talking about YouTube, he reiterated the benefits of T-Mobile's BingeOn program and used Netflix as an example.
"BingeOn is a real phenomenon. It's totally changing how our customers stream video for the better. Millions are streaming two times more per day than they were before the launch of BingeOn.," Legere stated. "Netflix, for example, has been with BingeOn since day 1, which I really appreciate."
There's nothing controversial at that point, and Legere goes on to praise Netflix's content such as House of Cards. But after all the back rubbing, he ends up giving Netflix a wedgie.

7/ @TMobile has been listening to customers and thanks to a little partnership, @YouTube is now a #BingeOn partner!
"You know there's been a lot of noise about watching Netflix with BingeOn, getting your video in DVD quality stream to your mobile device. Now either you've used it and had no complaints or you're with the other guys and you're saying, 'I'd never want that!' Well, here's a little factoid for you. Did you know that when you watch Netflix at 480p the duopoly is actually delivering your Netflix content at 360p. I bet you didn't know that. Go check, it's true," Legere says.
Well, people did check and it turns out that the ire they were directing at AT&T and Verizon should have been directed at Netflix all along. Netflix fessed up to throttling traffic on the two largest wireless networks in the U.S., along with most networks around the globe. Why? Netflix told The Wall Street Journal its intention is to "protect consumers from exceeding mobile data caps," otherwise they may not watch as much content as they do.
Netflix also disclosed the point at which it caps streams—just 600 kilobits per second. That's pretty low compared to what today's high speed networks can handle, but on the other end of the spectrum, Netflix argues that just streaming two hours of uncapped HD video would use 6 gigabytes of data, which is the entirety of Verizon's $80 per month tier.
The cap doesn't apply to T-Mobile or Sprint. Netflix says that's because "historically those two companies have had more consumer-friendly policies." By that Netflix means that if a customer goes over their data allowance, their connections are slowed as opposed to an overage charge.
This could soon be old news. In a blog post on Thursday, Netflix announced the impending roll out of a data saver feature, one that will provide members with more control over their data usage when streaming on mobile networks. At that point, it will be up to consumers to decide if they want to continue receiving throttled feeds to save data or higher quality streams that use more data.

Netflix catalogue has shrunk 31 percent in last two yearsNoticia:In January 2014, the Netflix catalogue boasted 6,494 movies and 1,609 TV shows. As of March 2016, it's dropped to 4,335 movies and 1,197 TV shows -- a 31.7 percent drop in a little over two years.
The company decided recently to sign deals with global rights only, which no doubt has increased its efficiency too, but with a significant impact on the amount of content it has available.
Some speculate the decline is also due to increased rights pricing caused by added competition from services like Amazon Prime. Whether this is true or not, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said last May that original programming -- like House of Cards -- "has been more efficient dollar for dollar" than licensed content and that "our appetite has only grown... we're moving (spending) from efficient to super-efficient."
Given that, it's not unreasonable to think Netflix may want to host original content only within a few years or more, remaking itself from a cable alternative into a modern TV network, and leaving its old model to other companies. However, Sarandos has noted he highly values deals with renowned companies like Disney, so a future with original programming and licensed content from giants like Disney only is perhaps more likely.

Netflix Releases Sneak Peek At New Voltron SeriesNoticia:Voltron is coming back after three decades. Whatever happened to the live-action movie?
June 10th will see the release of the first 13 episodes in the new series, each 22 minutes long, making for a perfect binge-watching session. The show features a few plot updates from the 1984 original, but still keeps the core basics: five young people on Earth get involved in an intergalactic battle and are tasked with fighting monsters as they each pilot a robotic lion. Once joined together, they form Voltron's arms, legs, head, and torso, and wield a giant, blazing sword.

Daredevil, S02E02: Excelente!
Edit: S02E03: nao gostei do uso abusivo do "RED". Era desnecessário tanta repeticao da mesma palavra.
A sequencia das escadas esta muito bem feita, se bem que se nota que os golpes sao fake.
Conclusao:bom.
Edit: S02E04: estou a achar as falas do Sr. Castle demasiado repetitivas. "You know" tirou-me do sério neste episódio. Não vejo necessidade nem motivo para os dialogos deste personagem serem repetitivos a este ponto. A história continua óptima ainda assim.
Edit: S02E05: excelente!
Edit: S02E06: excelente!
Edit: S02E07: excelente! Mesmo!!
Edit: S02E08: o melhor até ao momento. Quero o 9, 9, 9, 9, 9!!!
Edit: S02E09: excelente.
