Kojima Productions Dispanding According To Metal Gear Solid Voice Actor

The voice actor behind Solid Snake, Akio Otsuka, has already stated with some surety that Kojima Studios will no longer exist after Metal Gear Solid V.

The voice actor wrote a very emotional goodbye on Twitter, signaling the end of Kojima Productions.

We’ve known for quite some time that the tension between Hideo Kojima and Konami was going to have a negative effect on his own production company. The actual fate after Metal Gear Solid V has been unknown, though, because it might be possible to move on to new projects.
It appears that internally the damage done was great enough to necessitate disbanding completely. The famed voice actor who handled Solid Snake’s voice through the years has said given substance to the thought that they are dissolving. He voiced that finality over Twitter. The tweet is in Japanese, though Gematsu has provided the translation used below.
“Kojima Productions was forced to disband, but it appears that the work that the team has been putting their utmost effort into is nearly complete,”
    – Akio Otsuka (Solid Snake)

He went on to to talk about the massive effort put into Metal Gear Solid V, their final project. He essentially says that it was a labor of love, one designed to show just how fantastic the series truly is.
“I’m not exaggerating when I say that I expect it will become their greatest masterpiece. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to say ‘Kept you waiting, huh?’ (Laughs.) But even if this is the end, Metal Gear Solid is immortal!”
    – Akio Otsuka (Solid Snake)
Once they’re finished, then, the employees will have to find other projects to apply their talents to. There is no official statement from any of the senior leadership or from their public affairs. Apparently Hideo Kojima and the senior leadership are only contractors with the company, and will be leaving once their contract expires sometime in December.
This may not be the last Metal Gear Solid, but this is likely the last pure Metal Gear Solid we’ll ever see. Unless they come back together to form yet another studio to tackle their long-lived IP.

Metal Gear Solid V Graphics Comparison of 2013-2015 Showcases Noticeable Differences

YouTuber ‘frost Danger’, has made available a video of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which gives us a graphics comparison between the different builds we have seen of the title from 2013 to its current state.

You can view the video comparison below:

Metal Gear Solid V has undergone some visual changes

While the video footage is not quite enough, to draw any assumptions as to either a downgrade or an upgrade in visual quality, it does demonstrate a difference. A different approach in the overall look though does not constitute a downgrade in any way.
Some fans have reported that the latest footage, which can be viewed below, exhibits a graphics downgrade especially in shadows, textures, and colors.

Metal Gear Solid wins big at E3 2015

Producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, following these reports responded on twitter addressed these concerns directly.

Kojima’s name has been removed from MGS V box art again

The drama surrounding Konami, Hideo Kojima and the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain continues as Konami has proceeded to remove the series’ creator’s name from game box art for the second time in recent months. This comes just a few days after the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake confirmed that Kojima Productions has already closed its doors.
Box art for Metal Gear Solid V has been changed once again, removing the last remnants of Kojima’s name for reasons we don’t really know. It would seem that Konami’s issue with the famed game developer has not been resolved as of yet.

Over the years, Metal Gear Solid games have come with the words ‘A Hideo Kojima Game’ somewhere on the box but in its effort to push Kojima out, Konami has scrubbed this from promotional material and box art for the final MGS game from Kojima.
Konami has yet to comment on its efforts to push Kojima out of the company and the full story has yet to be revealed.

    Boa noite,

    Cumprimentos.

NVIDIA to Bundle Metal Gear Solid V with GeForce GPUs

NVIDIA is assisting Konami with the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and it appears that the game will be bundled with NVIDIA’s GeForce graphics cards.

Leaked by Reddit and subsequently confirmed by Newegg, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will replace Batman: Arkham Knight in NVIDIA’s promotional deal.
    Newegg’s support wrote:
“Hi everyone! We had a little slip up and posted this deal ahead of schedule. It is not currently available, but stay tuned, it will be soon! Newegg Support -Tori”
While Newegg support did not detail what GPU models will be featured in the bundle, it can be assumed that they will be similar to the Batman Arkham Knight deal, and that the game will be bundled with the GeForce GTX 970, GTX 980 and GTX 980Ti, and quite likely the Titan X.

Did a Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Easter Egg Reveal Kojima’s Konami Feud?

The saga regarding if and when Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is leaving Konami, seemingly against his will, has been rumbling on since March this year, but an Easter egg discovered in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, released on 18th March, 2014, a year before the ensuing drama became public knowledge, may have been pointing to Kojima’s exit and pre-emptive erasure for Metal Gear Solid’s history all along.
The Déjà Vu Mission, an extra op exclusive to the PlayStation release of the game, puts the player in control of a polygonal rendering of Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and tasks them with recreating iconic moments from the first game. A submission within Déjà Vu involves finding logos related to games from the history of the Metal Gear series.
Logos that pertain to Metal Gear games created by Kojima are erased – eerily reminiscent of Konami’s efforts to scrub Kojima’s name and production company credits from the Metal Gear Solid games – while those not produced by Kojima, such as Metal Gear Acid 2, are dismissed. “Looks like that’s nothing special,” says Snake’s associate Kaz when pointing to the aforementioned title’s logo.
Most tellingly, though, is a line that Kaz delivers later on, which seems to predict what would happen a year after the game’s release: “You might be able to erase the marking, but the memories will never disappear,” he says. There’s very little ambiguity about that.

The second part of the fifth and final instalment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is set for release on 1st September on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with the PC port expected a fortnight later.
Thank you GameSpot for providing us with this information.

Metal Gear Solid 5 requires only 25.1 GB storage capacity on PS4

The digital download of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, scheduled for release later this year, will only require 25.1 GB of free space for Sony PlayStation 4 gamers.

Considering how large some recent games have been, some of you may be happy to hear that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will only be about 25 GB. The massive open-world game is smaller than the PlayStation 3's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which is about 26.6 GB.

The game features real-time cutscenes, very little audio files since Snake doesn't talk much, and good compression could attribute to the relatively small file size.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is scheduled for release on September 1, and will be available for the PC, Microsoft Xbox 360, Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.

Metal Gear Solid V PC release date brought forward

Last year, it was announced that Metal Gear Solid V would also be heading over to the PC, though it would be arriving two weeks after the console version in order to give Kojima productions a bit more time to work on it. Now, just under a month before the game’s release on consoles, the PC release date has changed.
Now PC gamers will be able to play Metal Gear Solid V on the 1st of September just like all of the console gamers. Unfortunately though, MGS V’s multiplayer mode won’t be with us until January next year, having been pushed back from its initial October release date.

“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers”, a Konami press release says. “We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version”.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be the final game in the series from Hideo Kojima. It is all set to be released on the PC next month with Nvidia on-board helping out with its development, as we learned last week. In-fact, if you are picking up a new GPU any time soon, certain Nvidia cards come with MGS V for free.

Konami announced earlier today that the release date of the PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been moved forward to align with the release of the console version of the game. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will now be making its way onto PCs on the 1st of September instead of the 15th, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. president Tomotada Tashiro said in a press release:
“We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version.”

Gamescom Demo Of 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' Shows Off Mother Base

We are now just a few weeks away from the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. At E3, we were treated to a demo showcasing another one of Big Boss's sorties into the field, encountering side missions, avoiding enemies through stealth, and abducting valuable resources with the Fulton Recovery System. At Gamescom, the team showed a different side of the game.
    Managing Home

Big Boss is only as good as his resources, and the growth of Mother Base is essential to his success. What starts as a single platform in the middle of the ocean can expand into a thriving military fortress of multiple buildings by recruiting units, researching more weapons, and gathering information.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Gamescom Demo

The expansion of Mother Base depends on the number of staff on hand. Big Boss can gather more units to fill up the roster by grabbing them on the field using the Fulton Recovery System, or POWs and rival soldiers will defect based on your reputation. Over time, one platform isn't enough to hold all your soldiers, necessitating a need to build another portion of the base. Obviously, these soldiers aren't just for show. When you arrive back home, you can give them different positions based on their abilities to strengthen your entire army. For example, you might recruit a soldier to join the R&D division, while another man is best suited for the Combat unit, and the latest rookies can find their way into the Medical or Support teams. These teams can further help Big Boss and Mother Base by going on supply gathering missions, healing up wounded comrades, or providing air support and recovery for Big Boss in tight situations.
For those who've played Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, this all sounds very familiar. The same mechanics used to build Mother Base in the PSP game seemed to have transferred to The Phantom Pain. However, there are a few changes this time around.
Unlike in Peace Walker, this version of Mother Base allows you to walk around the compound. Soldiers will salute you as you walk by, raising morale, you can take a shower to wipe the dirt and blood away after a stressful mission, or you can run a quick training session by setting up targets to shoot throughout the base. There's also a small degree of customization, allowing you to change the colors of the wall as well as your emblem and initials for your special team.
    Intruder Alert

For those who crave online gameplay, Mother Base also provides the ability to reach out to other players via Forward Operating Bases. These FOBs serve as an extension of the base, allowing you to gather even more resources for your army. However, they are prone to attacks from other players at any time. Players can spend their GMP currency to bolster the FOB with mines, security cameras and drones. When an intrusion is detected, the players can let their subordinates handle the threat or join the defense personally.
For the attacking party, the opposing player's objective is to steal as many resources as possible, whether that is in the form of crates or even enemy staff members. The final objective is to reach the Platform Core in order to get the most resources and severely cripple the enemy. The defending team must find and extract the enemy before he or she reaches that point.
In a way, infiltrating these FOBs is similar to Big Boss's regular missions, but this has an online twist. You can go through it alone or have friends help infiltrate or defend, as well. It's important to note that installing FOBs is purely optional, and you can stick to just building your own Mother Base without the threat of outside forces.
    Build On

With so much focus on mission sorties, this demo was a welcome change of pace. While past Metal Gear Solid titles on the console just focused on the mission and story at hand, managing Mother Base can provide a necessary distraction from the action by focusing on raising your own private army. The ocean fortress is bound to play a crucial role in the field, and we'll see how each player builds his or her own base when the game comes out September 1.
