The Thin Just Got Thinner And The Bar Got Higher With Apple’s 12 Inch MacBook Air Launch

In a move that was being anticipated by many, Apple’s finally, introduced the much rumored about 12 inch MacBook Air at today’s Spring Forward event. As being speculated by countless earlier leaks and posts, the 12 inch MacBook Air features a significant redesign of the notebook, with a particular focus paid around the device’s keyboard, and other touch inputs.

The Much Rumored, Much Hyped About 12 Inch MacBook Air Is Here – And It Features Several Design Overhauls

Starting from the processor, Apple’s latest thinnest MacBook ever will be featuring Intel’s Core M Processor on board. The notebook will also be completely fanless adding towards not only adding to the device’s thinness, but also making it one of the quietest notebooks that you’ll ever own. But that’s not where the 12 Inch MacBook Air’s redesign rests. Apple’s paid a particular focus towards the keyboard, with an all new Butterfly mechanism. This ends up introducing greater balance, stability and illumination, with each key being lit by a single LED. Despite its reduced design, Apple claims that each key now has 17% larger area when compared to previous versions.

The Mac logic board contributes to the overall thinness and is the thinnest logic board designed by Apple, according to the company’s claims. The 12 Inch MacBook Air also has a greatly redesigned touchpad which includes a greater focus on force touch, with Haptic Touch built right into the trackpad. With the all new trackpad, you’ll be receiving outputs directly through your trackpad. Not only this, its also equipped with force sensors on board, that’ll be able to detect the amount of pressure that you’re applying on your trackpad. Force Touch launched with the trackpad allows for a host of new features that can be used.

With space minimization come needs to reduce almost everything on the device that you’re designing. Apple’s done this as expected by reducing the number of external ports available on the notebook. Or by reduce, we mean the 12 inch MacBook Air now only has a single connector port. But if you’re wondering whether that ends up sacrificing connectivity, don’t be. The single connector on the MacBook will be able to support USB, Power, HDMI, VGA, and Display. Coming towards the battery design on the device, the MacBook now features a custom designed battery, which provides up to 35% increased battery cell capacity. This leads to 10 hours of battery life for the notebook.

But the 12 Inch MacBook Air wont be complete without its display resolution. The notebook has a screen resolution of 2304 x 1440, which is high, even for a notebook. It weighs in at a mere 2 pounds and will be available starting April 10 with two variants costing $1299 and $1599 and separated by processor frequency and storage capacity. Thats all for right now folks. Stay tuned for more and let us know what you think of Apple’s latest notebook launch.

Smaller Than The Smallest – Apple’s MacBook Air Motherboard Smaller Than Rasberry Pi

Apple launched the latest redesign of its popular MacBook Air series a couple of days back. The latest MacBook air comes with a 12 inch screen size, with Apple’s signature Retina Display amongst other design changes on board. These include a redesigned keyboard, which according to Apple given more surface area per key and reduced thickness made possible by a host of factors including a first time fanless design for a MacBook. But that isn’t the only place where the buck stops. Apple seems to have paid great thought into the MacBook’s design, with the notebook’s motherboard being smaller than a well known microcomputer.

12 Inch Retina MacBook Air’s Motherboard Is Smaller Than The Raspberry Pi

The folks over at DigiTrends have been eager since the MacBook’s launch have been super excited about every feature on the device it would seem like. And in their quest for answers, they’ve managed to discover another interesting fact about Apple’s latest. The logicboard for the MacBook Air is smaller than the well known Rasberry Pi, which is a microcomputer that can be purchased by anyone who has a couple of spare bucks at hand.

By performing some math at the pictures of the motherboard, they’ve managed to cook up some measurements for the logic board on the notebook. According to the calculations, the MacBook’s logic board measures 4.6 by 1.5 inches. This equals a total surface area of about seven inches. Taking a look at the Rasberry Pi’s dimensions, it measures 3.4 inches by 2.2 inches. The surface area for the Rasberry Pi measuers up to be 7.48 inches. Coming to their thickness, the Rasberry Pi measures around 20mm in thickness, which is an entire 7 mm thicker than the MacBook’s 13.1 mm thickness.
So by looking at the dimensions, Apple seems to have paid quite a lot of attention to the design of its latest notebook. Interesting specifications to look at. Let us know what you think in the comments section below. Cheers.

Apple’s Type-C Battery Pack Support For Retina MacBook Air Opens Up New Possibilities

While Apple might have overshot a little bit by introducing only a single connector port on its latest 12 inch Retina MacBook Air according to some, that ship hasn’t complete left the port if you ask us. Apple latest does manage to gain some serious ground in latest benchmark results. Also, while there’s only one port on the MacBook Air, its a USB Type C USB rating opens up a host of possibilities for the miniature notebook. The Retina MacBook Air will be able to support almost all major accessories supported by Type C, according to Apple.

12 Inch Retina MacBook Air Will Be Include Support For Battery Packs

According to 9to5mac, who in more cases than less have some of the best scoop on Apple are now claiming that Apple’s thinnest notebook will now be able to support charging with battery packs. According to the publication’s ‘sources close to the situation’, the MacBook’s Type C connector will be able to support most accessories, and Apple will also be allowing battery packs to work with it. With MagSafe gone, a host of new possibilities has opened up for Apple and its notebook, and looks like the Cupertino manufacturer is looking to fully capitalize on it.
The report goes even further to suggest that aside from external batteries, you might also be able use other Macs to charge the MacBook Air. With the inclusion of only one external port on its notebook, Apple’s going to need a complete new host of rules for accessories and by the looks of things, matters appear to be changing at One Infinite Loop. Without waiting however, manufacturers themselves have already started to show off Type C accessories including chargers, batteries and more. There’s still no word from Apple, though we’d expect more elaboration to take place in the future. Stay tuned to stay updated. And let us know what you think in the comments section.

Larger MacBook Air Models Rumored To Be Introduced At Apple’s Next Event

Looks like after a long time, Apple is rumored to introduce a refreshed lineup of its MacBook Air notebooks at its next event, and there are going to be several improvements from the upcoming machines that we can expect.

MacBook Air Models Rumored To Come With 13 And 15 Inch Screen Size Variants And Improved Hardware

According to a rumor, Apple will be introducing both a 13 and a 15 inch model of its MacBook Air models at the company’s WWDC 2016. Both of these notebooks are obviously going to be running Intel’s 14nm Skylake processors, but at this point, we are unsure what model is going to be running inside these machines. However, there is one major change that Apple could be making when it officially announces its new MacBook Air lineup; removing the 11 inch models from the equation.
One primary reason why Apple could be doing is because the company had already introduced a Broadwell powered 12 inch MacBook, negating the need for an 11 inch notebook altogether. Previously, both of MacBook Air models featured a screen size less that was less than 15 inches, with one model possessing a screen of 13 inches, while the other one had an 11.6 inch screen. Both machines had either a Core-i5 or Core-i7 CPU present underneath their hoods, so it is very unlikely that a Core M Skylake processor is going to be a part of the hardware.

However, we strongly hope that Apple does not follow the same approach as it did with its 12 inch MacBook. By sacrificing raw power and several ports, Apple introduced a single Type-C USB port, which fulfilled the purpose of charging your machine as well as providing high-speed data transfers. This time, we hope to see more than one Type-C USB port in the upcoming MacBook Air models, along with several connectivity ports, since a high level of flexibility will always sell well for consumers worldwide.
At this point, the only lead we have is that both MacBook Air models are going to come in both the 13 inch and 15 inch screen size models. Other than that, we have nothing to go on. However, we will be treating this report with a grain of salt and wait for more updates to come through. Hopefully, we will not be left disappointed with Apple’s latest offerings. What are the features that you want to see from the upcoming MacBook Air models? Do tell us your thoughts.

Apple To Upgrade MacBook Air And Pro With Skylake This March Claim Sources

As things settle down in the Android world, soon we’ll get to see Apple’s March event, all set to take place in just two weeks from now. Quite a few products have been rumored for this event, which just might manage to outshine the generally larger iPhone launch affair that takes place in September each year.

MacBook Air And MacBook Pro Upgrades Expected Alongside The iPad And iPhone SE This March

When it comes to the MacBook lineup, there has been little information which has surfaced about upgrades to Apple’s notebook lineup. The company’s attention these days seems to be focused primarily on the mobile end of things, which reached its peak with the whole FBI-iPhone 5c matter.
Today, we’ve got some news straight out of China which might make things very interesting for the Cupertino tech giant’s March 22nd event. While we’ve been hearing about both the iPhone SE and a smaller variant of the iPad Pro with consistency, some quarters are now also expecting the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro to make an appearance as well.
What’s more is that in addition to the MacBook Pro lineup seeing the much awaited Intel Skylake upgrade, word today suggests that the MacBook Air might see a similar upgrade as well. While its most likely to be the low end, Core-M board that makes it on the razor thin notebook, we’d be interested to see how things improve; as Apple’s own A9X also manages to do fairly well against similar offerings.
    Advertisements

If Apple really does upgrade its MacBook lineup this Spring, then we might see the decline of overall iPhone sales for the company be countered effectively. Taking a look at the company’s recent history, its fair to say that the mobile segment has received the majority of attention from Cupertino. In fact, except the addition of Force Touch trackpads on its notebooks, there’s been little innovation and creativity in the lineup.
Nevertheless, notebooks are designed primarily for serious users so a couple of critical upgrades to performance and overall accessibility coupled with usage should do the company good for now. We’d advise you to wait for more information to surface on the matter and take the entire matter with a grain of salt as of now.
Given Apple’s focus on secrecy, things will become clear once the company hosts its event on the 22nd. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated in the meanwhile.

Apple To Discontinue MacBook Air This Year As Performance Requirements Increase

With things slowing down in the smartphone segment, there’s still very little news going around about Apple’s plans for the MacBook lineup. We’ve been hearing a few sources claim that there will be upgrades to both the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro this year, with all the usual performance and multimedia upgrades. However, if you look closely at how the company’s been making some recent launches, we just might not get to see a MacBook Air this time around.

Apple Just Might Discontinue The MacBook Air This Year With Performance To Take Precedence Over Aesthetics

As we move forward from last month’s launch of the 9.7 inch iPad Pro from the company, Apple’s product patters might just finally be receiving a much overdue overhaul. While Apple might have grown in size since Tim Cook took over, when it comes to the company’s approach towards its product front; we’ve seen the same approach being adjusted to suit different variables.
After choosing to increase the screen size on the iPhone, we saw Cupertino struggle to find a reason for the larger, 5.5 inch iPhone 6/6s Plus. In fact, the larger sized device was the first to suffer from bending issues, which forced a strong material overhaul on the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus. With the rumors surrounding the iPhone 7 so far suggesting that we might get to see a dual camera thrown in the mix as well, there just might be adequate differentiation thrown in the mix this year.
In fact, Apple’s been taking its mobile lineup quite seriously over the past couple of months, with the launch of the iPad Pro. Both the 9.7 and the 12.9 inch devices come with their respective performance strengths, in terms of display and hardware respectively. As the smaller iPad continues to demonstrate its strengths, there’s been more word going around that the iPad Air lineup won’t be seeing an upgrade either; which in turn might also translate into Cupertino’s notebook lineup as well.
    Advertisements

Asus’ VivoWatch’s 10 Day Battery Life And $149 Price Tag Trumps Apple Watch

In fact, the MacBook Air’s death could have been predicted with the launch of the larger iPad Pro last year with the A9X on-board. Succeeding the A8X, Apple’s latest tablet processor scaled things up in terms of performance and we subsequently saw the 12.9 inch iPad Pro deliver efficiently when running performance intensive applications. In fact, as the A9X continued to outer perform Intel’s Core M in benchmarks, the need for a low powered, light notebook proved to be even more irrelevant.
Taking a look at all of these factors, the fact that there might not be a MacBook Air this year either starts to make a bit of more sense. To further make things interesting, some sources have allegedly also started to make similar claims, so all of you who’re looking for a moderately priced, thin notebook from Apple might be in for some disappointing news in the future. But even more sources speculate that Apple will be making some serious dimension upgrades to the MacBooks it does launch; which when coupled with Skylake would make for some well equipped notebooks indeed.
Nevertheless, its all speculation up to the point that we actually get to see the upgrades from Cupertino’s end; so you’re advised to keep you ears and eyes open in the meanwhile. Things should start to become more clear as we begin to settle down this quarter, so stay tuned and let us know what you think ion the comments section below. We’ll keep you updated in the meanwhile.
