DIABLO 3 PLAYER HITS PARAGON 1,000 ON HARDCORE

When Blizzard announced the hardcore game mode for its dungeon crawling sequel, Diablo 3, many considered it quite a daunting prospect to take on a game that was such a time sink, with the possibility of losing everything if you die even once. That means the longer you play, the higher your chances of losing everything, which makes Nokieka's achievement even greater than most, as they managed to hit level 1,000 on the game's Paragon ranking system, without dying once.Blizzard introduced Paragon levelling shortly after the game was released back in 2012, to give the end game players something to work away at. What it did, is add infinite levelling opportunities beyond the game's 70 stock levels, but considering each Paragon level required a lot more experience than the previous one, getting up just a few was quite an achievement.
    Let alone 1,000.

Of course people have hit 1,000 Paragon before now, but this is the first time - as far as we know - that someone has managed it on hardcore mode, presumably because nobody else would risk losing the many thousands of hours it must have taken to reach this point.
Noikeka did and they aren't stopping there. Purportedly, they've already hit level 1,002.
As impressive as these sorts of stories are though, I can't help but think of all the awesome games that this person is missing out on because they're so obsessed with the one title.
How do you guys feel about it?

Parece o outro gaijo do Crusader Kings 2 com 10,000 (sim, dez mil) horas de jogo, algo como 40% de todo o tempo que passou desde que o jogo foi lançado.

Diablo 3 patch 2.2 brings new item powers and legendary sets

The Diablo III 2.2 patch is coming soon to the public test realm and will add new legendary level 70 armor sets and redesign a few old ones. The new armor sets are called Unhallowed Essence, Wrath of the Wastes, and Delsere’s Magnum Opus, which appear to be for the Demon Hunter, Barbarian and Wizard classes respectively.
The Battle Net post detailing the new update also went over changes to existing legendary sets: “we’re redesigning – and, in some cases, adding – bonuses to existing Sets like Zunimassa’s Haunt, Raiment of a Thousand Storms, Roland’s Legacy, Tal Rasha’s Elements, Inna’s Mantra, Natalya’s Vengeance, and Immortal King’s Call. This means a grand total of 10 new or revamped play styles to try out!”

The patch is also set to add 15 new item powers to the game along with new types of treasure goblin. A new blue goblin will have the capability to split off in to a number of mini goblins, a golden goblin will apparently “satisfy your never-ending greed for gold”, while the red-legged goblin will bring back up to stop you from catching it.
One of the important under the hood changes though is the swapping of game file types. Blizzard is changing from MPQ to CASC, which is a new format that will require existing game installations to convert when patch 2.2 goes live. This change only affects the PC so console owners shouldn’t expect a huge download for this patch. ]
There will also be twenty new bounties added to adventure mode for acts II, IV and V, there will also be new rift layouts coming in to play, bringing some replay-ability back to the game.

Diablo III PTR might get Microtransactions tested in patch 2.2.0

Over at the Diablo III forums a post about an upcoming patch on the Public Test Realm (PTR), outlines some specific “Quality of life” changes, that will be tested. However it states that the listed features will NOT be rolling out on the EU/NA servers anytime soon, so that only leaves the Asian server.

Blizzard wants to Scrooge McDuck Diablo III

Apparently Blizzard thinks that it’s all fine and dandy to add Microtransactions to Diablo III, I’d beg to differ, but hey what do I know? It’s not like I’m the consumer of the product.
“Development for patch 2.2.0 has been underway for some time and we’ll be launching the PTR shortly. We’ve got great quality of life changes and new content coming in our next patch, and we’ll have even more details to share in the near future.
In the meantime, some new features may start to show up in data mined information for patch 2.2.0 that will not apply to all regions. Specifically, the following features will not apply to the European region:”
    A new currency called “Platinum”
    Timed experience boosts
New cosmetic items including wings, non-combat pets, and character portraits
References to stash space and character slot expansions
A new UI interface that references the above information
“While the above features will not apply to this region, players will still benefit from some of the quality of life perks tied to these additions, such as a streamlined UI for selecting cosmetic benefits like pets and Collector’s Edition wings.”
I’m kinda at a loss for words here, I mean what the hell (no pun intended), Blizzard thinks it’s a great idea to add Microtransactions to a 60$ AAA Title that has already had one expansion released , and another expansion that’s in the works. It’s not okay to have Microtransactions in full priced titles, and that’s that. And if a developer/publisher thinks that its okay, they should immediately stop what they are doing and have a long and hard look at how their customers are going to react. But hey according to Blizzard, the reason they are even thinking about it is because players have asked for it.
“We recognize that many players have expressed an interest in microtransactions being added to Diablo III. While we may explore this model in some regions, we have no immediate plans to implement such purchases anytime soon for the European region.”
Did they have a poll in the office and everyone said “Yeah I’ve always wanted to swim around in piles of money”, and then decided that it qualified as “many players”?
Anyways , Season 2 is going on right now in Diablo III, and I’m soon going to be burnt out (again), as I was with the previous Season and before that the Expansion.
I wonder if “Greed’s Domain Portals” leads to Blizzard HQ come patch 2.2.0

Blizzard: Diablo 3 micro-transactions won’t come to EU or US

Over the last few days there have been some concerns about Blizzard incorporating micro-transactions in to Diablo III outside of Asia. The publisher has now commented, clearing up the confusion by saying that while micro-transactions are being tested in Asian territories, there are no current plans to bring them over to Europe or the US.
Files discovered inside of the upcoming 2.2 patch suggested that micro-transactions were coming to Diablo III. However, these options are staying inside Asia for the foreseeable future, where people are generally more receptive to the monetization method.

Diablo Community Manager, Brandy Camel, has said that “While the above features will not apply to this region, players will still benefit from some of the quality of life perks tied to these additions, such as a streamlined UI for selecting cosmetic benefits like pets and Collector’s Edition wings”.
He then wrote a little about Platinum, a premium currency that will be used to buy character slots, experience boosts and extra inventory space in Asia.
“We recognize that many players have expressed an interest in microtransactions being added to Diablo III. While we may explore this model in some regions, we have no immediate plans to implement such purchases anytime soon for the Americas nor European regions.”
Diablo III did used to have some form of micro-transaction in the form of its auction house, which allowed players to buy and sell items and gear for cash. The auction house divided players and was ultimately removed from the game.

Apenas tenho o original, sem o Reaper of Souls. Mas já não lhe pego há muito tempo.
Ainda o voltei a experimentar há cerca de um ano atrás, mas não me convenceu.

Diablo 3 has sold over 30 million copies across all platforms

Activision Blizzard has announced that it has sold over 30 million copies of Diablo 3 since the action-RPG launched back in May 2012. The news comes from Activision's earnings report for Q2 2015 which ended in June, meaning Diablo 3 reached 30 million sales in three years.

We don't know if the publisher is counting the expansion, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, or just the standalone game. Reaper of Souls launched in March of last year, with Diablo 3 very quickly becoming the best-selling PC game of all time, after it had hit 20 million sold.

Blizzard may be working on a new Diablo game

Although far from an exact science, whenever a major studio announces a new job opening at their company, it’s often for something specific. There are traditionally quite a lot of open, or potentially existing jobs at large publishers and developers, but when something different shows up, it gives us a chance to wonder what they might be working on. A new position that’s opened up at Blizzard, for example, might suggest that a new Diablo is in the works.
The job in question is for a new art director and as you read through it, it’s quite a typical sounding position. Have 10 years experience working with game art, have at least five years experience as a lead artist, demonstrate strong skills with 2D and 3D art, etc. All of the usual stuff you would expect for such a position. Except this one also lists as its one and only “plus” point: “a passion for games with a deep understanding of the Diablo franchise.”
Why would that be there if this wasn’t for a game that was related to Diablo in some way?

Of course this may not be a game that is in the same vein as Diablos that have gone before. It could merely be something related to the franchise, or based within its dungeon crawling universe. Or it could be a new expansion for Diablo III as PCG points out, which may be the most likely.
If so, perhaps Blizzard wants to take the game in a slightly new direction with regards to its artwork, providing a much more diverse environment to battle and quest through.

Diablo III console patch 2.4.0 causing some weird slow-downs

The latest patch for Diablo III on consoles was released four days ago that included a lot of new content and enhancements. What also seemed to tag along were issues of micro-stutter and menu-lag that have been simply incorrigible.

But Blizzard is aware of the issue and is asking everyone who experiences the problem to head on over to their forum to fill out a bit of information to help them track down the particular issue. At the moment the folks from Blizzard can't quite replicate the problems, and that's why they need your help.

So head on over to the forum and answer the following questions to help them. Diablo III is still one of the better ARPG's to grace consoles in a long time, despite its relative age.

Platform (Xbox One or PS4): Region (US, Europe, etc):
    Character Class:
    Skills used:
Are you playing solo or party? If party, with how many other players?:
Do you notice this at specific in-game locations?:
For those experiencing menu issues, what menus?:
Description of performance issues. Is framerate dropping constant? Do you notice it sometimes more than others? Do you notice it when performing certain tasks?:
Is there any other information you think could be relevant?:

Time To Look Great In Diablo III Thanks To Cosmetics Patch

The problem you often find when you play any game with items is that you end up torn between looking good and actually being good. Some of the best look items I’ve ever found in games are mid-tiered, meaning that while they look awesome playing with them actually makes me weaker than I could/should be. This is a problem commonly found with games, but Diablo III has you covered if you felt like you needed a little more style thanks to its new cosmetics patch.
Typically without buying the collectors edition (something that is rather hard to find these days), you were limited in how amazing you could look thanks to the limited pets and wings available for your characters.
The latest patch (2.4.1) is a small one by many standards, but will add a wide range of graphical choices for your characters, from the Wings of Kokabiel making you look like a fairy demon to the Star Helm and Pauldrons calling you to battle in space.
Below you can find just a few of the new items and pets that you will be now able to quest for and upon receiving, look like a true warrior.

When you play a game do you look for style or are you one for the stats the items bring? Is there a way to find a balance? Give us your opinion on if stats or looks are more important in games
