Gamers For Giving Halo Tournament Cancelled

Contrary to popular belief many gamers enjoy getting out and about, nothing more so than when it comes to a charity tournament. Gamers For Giving Halo Tournament has been running for years now letting gamers play their favourite games with the event raising money for charity. Sadly this year though that may not be so as the Gamers for giving halo tournament has been cancelled.
The tournament has been running for years but “due to encountering an unrecognizable error in the custom games matchmaking platform” the tournament has had to be cancelled as the event couldn’t create the games in a “reliable tournament environment”.
They tried, with everything from testing different network configurations and swapping the hardware itself and even talking with talking with 343 Industries (the creators of the latest halo game), the decision was reluctantly made.
The organisation will be issuing full pass refunds for those who request one by the 21st March, but if you feel like giving that money to charity still they will be offering Sky loft passes to teams who don’t request a refund. Offering passes for teams to come enjoy the event, even though they can’t take part in the Halo tournament part of it, is a great move on their part and a great way for the community to show just how strongly they want to help charity more than show off their skills.
The cause of the cancellation is still under speculation but all signs point to a recent patch in the game. In a blog post on the gamers for giving page its stated that the patch notes contain “improved stability when joining custom game lobbies”, something which alongside the “resolved issues surrounding multiple Xbox ones playing on the same network” would point to changes that may not have been best suited just before a big tournament.

Halo 5 Ghosts of Meridian Expansion Gets First Images and Details – New Warzone Map Revealed

343 Industries is delivering on its promise by continually transforming Halo 5: Guardians by adding more content, maps, items, gameplay and overall immersive Halo experience to the game. The Xbox One-exclusive shooter is set to receive its next big update early next month, and while complete details on the update will be released in full in coming weeks, the developer has shared the first images and details about the next free content drop, called Ghosts of Meridian.

Ghosts of Meridian, Next Free Content Drop for Halo 5: Guardians, Coming in Early April – Skirmish at Darkstar Warzone Map Detailed

In a recent blog post on the official Halo website, 343 Industries has revealed the first images and details regarding Halo 5: Guardian’s free content update; Ghosts of Meridian. Along with other details, the developer talked about the highly anticipated Warzone map that will stand out from the game’s existing Warzone battlegrounds. The upcoming update “will bring with it brand new weapons and weapon skins, helmets and armors, assassinations and emblems, vehicles, and a new Warzone map,” reads the blog post.
The new Warzone map is called Skirmish at Darkstar, and according to the developer, it “brings an entirely new feel to the Warzone experience, with a variety of unique sightlines, flank routes, and cover pieces that invite you to push across and throughout the map, dodge danger from patrolling vehicles, and perfectly time an attack on opponents. If you’ve been anxiously awaiting a new place to bust out your finest Reqs and lay down destruction, this is it.”

Senior concept artist at 343 Industries Josh Kao also added a note, explaining the philosophy behind the map layout for Skirmish at Darkstar. “For Skirmish at Darkstar, the team decided on having a derelict ship in the middle of the map on the mining planet of Meridian – which you can see to the left of the concept. I originally thought about having a space elevator in the concept, but we decided against it because there was already one in the campaign. I also wanted to capture the mood of what a mining planet would feel like, with the sunlight peeking through its heavily polluted atmosphere,” he said.

343 Industries promised to show fans more of the new Warzone arena as we get close to the update. For now, here’s a brand new screenshot “approved by the Environment Art team” followed by “some fantastic art from the concept team.”

Ghosts of Meridian also brings a brand new mech-like Mantis vehicle called Hannibal Mantis to Halo 5. You can check out the new Mantis in the first concept art shared below. More details will be revealed soon.

Since the launch of Halo 5: Guardians on Xbox One in October 2015, 343 Industries has released a new, free update every month providing players with more content. In November, Halo 5 received The battle of Shadow and Light, in December; Catographer’s Gift, in January; Infinity’s Armor, and in February; Hammer Stor. This streak, however, now comes to an end as there will be no content drop this month with Ghosts of Meridian scheduled to launch in April.

343 Industries Reveals Details, Trailer For Upcoming 'Halo 5' Warzone Firefight Update

Last month, 343 Industries revealed Halo 5: Guardian's upcoming free content plans for the spring and summer. Among the list of updates included a new take on the “Firefight” co-op multiplayer mode called “Warzone Firefight,” and the developers revealed more information — including a new trailer — about it during the finals of the Halo World Championship.
Unlike most of the multiplayer modes in Halo 5: Guardians, Warzone Firefight is a cooperative-based match where up to eight players will need to work together and defeat five waves of increasingly difficult enemies. The developers also added a new tier of bosses, titled “Mythics,” which could make for a tougher fight when combined with the already-intimidating swarm of enemies.

The survival mode was first introduced in Bungie’s Halo 3: ODST in 2009, but the team at 343 Industries added its own twist by mixing it with the popular Warzone mode. This provides the same Firefight experience that Halo fans want with the game's large-scale maps. Additionally, you will also be able to use Warzone’s REQ system, which allows for the purchase of better weapons and vehicles as you continue to rack up points.
Warzone Firefight is the final installment of 343 Industries’ free content lineup when it arrives in the summer. Before that, there will be three other updates for the game: “Ghosts of Meridian,” “Memories of Reach” and “Hog Wild.” For now, fans can look forward to the Ghosts of Meridian update when it arrives in April. It will introduce additional items for multiplayer such as weapons, helmets, vehicles and a new Warzone map titled “Skirmish at Darkstar.”

Halo 5 won't be coming to the PC at all, and here's why

Phil Spencer has previously made clear that a significant amount of future games that will most certainly be making it to both of Microsoft's gaming platforms, but some will be still be reserved for one or the other. Halo 5 might be one of the few games that won't be making an appearance on both platforms, says Phil Spencer himself.

The reasons are quite clear, though, given that the game, while a succesful one on consoles, is the perfect recipe for a PC game. Phil said that "Halo 5 was shipped as a console game, If we're going to [bring Halo to PC] moving forward then we're going to plan on both platforms." He doesn't think it prudent to port the game, or any game, but wants to instead look to bringing development together for future games. That means we'll most likely see Halo 6 (or whatever is in store for the franchise) on the PC, but it won't be something necessarily looked at for past games.. It's a natural fit for an FPS game with a competitive multiplayer element.

He does, and it makes sense from a certain point of view, think that some games are naturally suited for a particular platform. That something could be enjoyed better in front of a TV as opposed to sitting at a desk in front of your PC. It's entirely possible to have your PC be in your living-room, however, and Microsoft has awcknoledged is important with previous Media Center functionality. Games are best played on the platform that we choose, and it would be best if that choice also included the PC and Windows (or Linux even). When the underlying hardware and even software is so similar, especially with the advent of the UWP, it shouldn't be a problem going forward, which it won't be according to Spencer. It just means that past games may not make the jump, but going forward we'll have a massive cross-playable library.

"If I enable keyboard and mouse on a console, which we will do, and then you download [real-time strategy title, Ashes of the Singularity] and you're playing on a monitor, is that a PC game or a console game? I get out of saying 'all,' because I think there are games that people want to play in front of their monitor with a keyboard and mouse, and I want to be somebody that builds those games."

Lol, era de espantar se viesse para o PC, como não vem, tudo normal.

Halo 5 on PC is unlikely but future titles stand a good chance

While Bungie originally intended for Halo to be a PC game, ever since Halo 3 the series main games have been exclusive to Xbox and despite rumours suggesting that we might get the Master Chief Collection or Halo 5, it now looks unlikely. However, the future of Halo on the PC is also sounding surprisingly positive.
Speaking at the Build conference this week, Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, said: “Halo 5 shipped as a console game, if we’re going to bring Halo to PC moving forward then we’re going to plan on both platforms. I don’t want to get into the world where we’re looking back”.

He also added on that even though Halo 5 is unlikely, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t elements of the story that won’t end up on the PC.
To be fair to Microsoft, Halo 5 was first announced alongside the Xbox One before Phil Spencer took over the division and began changing the company’s thinking when it came to the PC platform. That said, if future main series Halo games were to end up on the PC, it would nice to be able to go back and catch up on the three games worth of story that we missed out on.

Ghosts Of Meridian Free Update For 'Halo 5: Guardians' Arrives April 5

The next batch of free content for Halo 5: Guardians is coming next week. The "Ghosts of Meridian" update will add maps and items for the game's popular multiplayer section.
For fans of the Warzone mode, the update will introduce a new map called "Skirmish at Darkstar," which is a survival outpost in a war-torn region. In addition to all the fighting above ground, players can also discover a new boss to fight deep beneath Darkstar's surface.
If you're a fan of the smaller maps and faster modes such as Capture The Flag and Assault, 343 Industries added a new map called "Tyrant." The entire area is an intact set of Forerunner structures excavated by archeologists, but for you, it's a shooting playground. Just don't break anything valuable.
The developers also added more REQ items for you to use in combat. One of the more notable additions is Tartarus' Gavel. This two-handed, Legendary-class hammer deals kinetic damage with each strike, and it provides boosts to your character's movement speed, jump height and shield strength.
After this update, you can still look forward to three additional waves of free content: "Memories of Reach," "Hog Wild" and "Warzone Firefight." We don't know too much about the first two updates, but Warzone Firefight, which comes out this summer, will have you work with seven other players on Warzone maps in order to survive multiple waves of enemies.
