    Clube Nintendo vai ser descontinuado

Club Nintendo Being Discontinued, Use Your Coins Quickly

Here I was, sitting at my desk, looking for a gaming news story to cover when I realized that it was time to check out this month’s offering of free games from Club Nintendo. What do I see when I open the website, but a huge headline at the top reading “Important Information: Club Nintendo Program Discontinuation”Looks like I found my news story.
Yes, Nintendo all around the world is closing down Club Nintendo, and all of your coins will be expiring when accounts permanently close on July 1, 2015. The presser reads that the program will be offering dozens of options for free downloads and other limited physical goods between then and now, so you’ll have plenty of chances to use those coins by the time the end of the Nintendo year comes.
March 31st will be the last day to earn any coins, and I hope you have some saved up, because Club Nintendo has some excellent games to choose from in its closing months, that is, if you haven’t already snagged them up previously. You can blow your final batch of coins on Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 2, Excitebike, Super Punch Out, Super Mario Land, Donkey Kong ’94, Wario Land 2, and The Legend of Zelda, all from the Virtual Console service on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS.
Yeah, looks like it’s Excitebike for me. I already own the rest. Hooray Excitebike…
Further, Nintendo announced that they’ll be tossing out a free game as a gift, no coins required, in February. That game will be Flipnote Studio 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.
In the meantime, Nintendo is rethinking its customer loyalty program and will be making an announcement on it in the coming months.
É pena que terminem este serviço, pois até parecia ser uma boa ideia.

Club Nintendo Adds Over 100 Downloadble Games to Its Stars Catalog

Earlier in the year, we reported on the somewhat-sad news that long-running Nintendo loyalty program, Club Nintendo, would be shutting down for good this year, to be replaced with a new program. At the time, Nintendo promised to add "dozens of downloadable games and a limited quantity of exclusive reward items" to the program's catalog, to give fans plenty of options to spend their excess coins on. Today Nintendo delivered on that promise in a big way, adding a whopping 117 games , and several new physical rewards to the program. What's more, while the downloadable games that had been offered on the program in the past were mere random spatterings from the 3DS and Wii virtual console, this last big push includes full 3DS and Wii U titles, for as 600 coins. Some of the most notable titles included The Wonderful 101, Super Mario 3D Land and Kid Icarus: Uprising, all of which are fairly recent, full-priced titles.
As for the physical rewards, it's a slightly bigger selection of the usual "random items with Nintendo branding", such as a The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D Messenger Bag and a Retro Mario T-Shirt. As has always been and always will, Grill of with Ultra Hand is still standing strong among all the other offerings.
The downloadable titles are the real winners here, and are so incredibly varied and cheap that most users should be able to get rid of their remaining coins, and pick up some titles they don't have in the process. There's way too many to list here, so please go and check em out for yourself.
As a reminder March 31 is the last day for new Club Nintendo sign-ups and the last day for all members to earn new coins. Those coins must be spent by the end of the day on June 30, and any game download codes will need to be redeemed by July 31.

Club Nintendo Releases New Rewards In Fire Sale, Servers Go Down

Nintendo announced on January 20 that it will be shutting down its Club Nintendo this year after more than six years in operation. Although the company did not say why, it did say that it will be listing additional games and other rewards that can be redeemed during February in an effort to help users clear out their remaining balance of reward points.
Late last night, which would have been early morning for the Japan-based company, Nintendo listed its final wave of rewards for users to redeem. Currently, there are 118 games listed for download: 42 Wii U, 28 Wii and 48 for the Nintendo 3DS. There are also a dozen physical prizes that include posters, clothing, puzzles, greeting cards and other items.
For anyone who has saved up a lot of reward points, now seems to be a great time to take advantage of the service and grab some free games or a t-shirt, but unfortunately, many users are currently not able to. Not long after adding the new selections to the reward catalog, the Club Nintendo servers became over loaded with traffic.
Since that time, the website has had unstable access. In our attempts to access the website, the page stalled after several minutes and didn't load. After several more attempts, the catalog finally loaded, and we could look it over. When we tried to select a game, though, most of the time we were met with this:
On rare occasions the site did make it to the product page, but somewhere along the way, from logging in to checking out, we would be met again with an error message stating that the server is either down for maintenance or experiencing heavy traffic and cannot continue.
Nintendo is likely already aware of the problem and currently working to resolve the issue, but it could still take several days before users will be able to access the website and cash in their reward points.
Any users who still have reward points to add to their account, or who have yet to make an account, have until March 31 to sign up and add points. The rewards currently listed are expected to stay until June 30, and Club Nintendo is expected to close down not long after the final series of Gold and Platinum rewards to users who have achieved this status.

Club Nintendo Rewards Program Closing Schedule Announced, Use Your Coins By June 30

Following the announcement that Club Nintendo will be shutting down, Nintendo announced a schedule for the gradual discontinuation of service.
The shut down of services began on January 20. New products released after this date are no longer eligible for registration with Club Nintendo. Titles such as Hyrule Warriors that were released before this date still can be registered, though.
Nintendo will likely stop putting the Club Nintendo cards with registration codes inside of these older games, but many of the units have already been produced and will contain the registration code.
The last day that users can earn coins, either by registering games or completing surveys, will be March 31. At that time, Club Nintendo will also stop accepting new accounts.
If you've been saving up coins, you can still use them until June 30, 11:59pm PST. Thereafter, the Club Nintendo program will completely shut down, and you won't even be able to access your account.
The bright side is that Nintendo announced that it will start a new rewards program sometime after Club Nintendo shuts down, but there are no details yet about how this program will work. Nintendo did say that remaining rewards balances will not be transferable from Club Nintendo to the new program, so you should use saved up coins or stars while you have the chance.
The good news is that Club Nintendo will be giving free loyalty gifts out to users who qualified for Elite or Platinum status. These rewards will come between April 1 and April 30, which is earlier than in previous years. When they're announced, you'll be able to view reward options on Club Nintendo's website.

Pior que o Clube Nintendo fechar, talvez seja isto.
Já imaginaram se o Steam fizesse o mesmo?
