Here’s The List Of All iOS 8.4 Compatible Tweaks

TaiG has always been ahead of other hackers and developer to release jailbreaks for the latest iOS versions. Though it might carry some security flaws that cause apps to become root, the TaiG jailbreak team released the v2.2 untethered tool for jailbreak on iOS 8.4. The jailbreak has quite a lot of new functionalities as well as bug fixes from the previous version. So if it all goes fine, there are hundreds of extensions and tweaks which are compatible with TaiG jailbreak iOS 8.4.

With all thanks to the jailbreak community, a list has been prepared of different tweaks which are compatible as well as those which are not compatible with iOS 8.4 TaiG jailbreak. The Green tweaks represent those which are fully compatible with latest iOS 8.4 jailbreak while tweaks which are not, have been denoted by Red. Half way in, the partially compatible tweaks are given Yellow. It is advised to install only Green notated tweaks for maximum compatibility.

Go Green – Get Fully iOS 8.4 Compatible Tweaks

Below is the list of all the iOS 8.4 compatible tweaks that you can download and install right now. Most of the tweaks are already compatible with iOS 8.4 such as Activator of Ryan Petrich, given due to a steady jailbreak.

Activator for iOS 8.4 jailbreak is available from developers own repo. However, Activator is in the beta phase for now and will soon be updated with additional features and improvements soon. Two more to the count, Springtomize 3 and Auxo Legacy Edition has full compatibility with iOS 8.4 and can be downloaded from the Cydia repository. Do give them a whirl and let us know about your favorite extensions and tweaks in the comments below. As for now, the list will be updated as soon as more compatible tweaks make their way for iOS 8.4 jailbreak.

TaiG Security Flaw ‘Setreuid’ Gets A Fix, Update TaiG Jailbreak To v2.2.1 – How to

Recently, it was discovered that the TaiG jailbreak too had a weakness that allowed app to get ‘root privileges’ according to Stefan Essen in a Twitter post. Basically what the security flaw does is to cause apps to become root. This grants permission to access personal user data to be exposed. Saurik had also taken note of the issue and planned to overcome the weakness.

In just a matter of time, The TaiG Jailbreak team has released an update to their tool that supports iOS versions from iOS 8.1.3 to iOS 8.x untehered package. If your device is jailbroken to the followig iOS versions, you can update the fix manually.
Fix ‘Setrueid’ Security Flaw Via TaiG Update

If you want to fix the ‘setreuid’ security flaw, you will have to manually upgrade to the latest version of TaiG via Cydia. Here the the steps that you need to consider to tackle the security flaw.
    Step 1:
The first thing you ned to do is launch Cydia from your device then go to the sources tab.
    Step 2:
Press on Edit then Type and Add the following URL:

    Step 3:
    Tap On Add Source.
    Step 4:
Once you have added the TaiG source, you will have to go to the Changes tab and see the ”TaiG 8.1.3 – 8.x Untether” label. Tap to open it.
    Step 5:
Now install the given update and once its done, you will have to reboot the device. After the reboot, your device will be secure on any data exposure flaw or app becoming root. That’s it for the update fix for Setrueid security flaw.
Stefan Essen has told earlier that there was no need to worry about the weakness in security and it was only a matter of time when he would release the update. However, if you are done with the fix, remember to install tweaks from authentic and trusted sources else a problem might arise due to compatibility reasons and other technical issues. To see the complete list of tweaks which are fully compatible and partially compatible for your iOS 8.4 jailbreak device, click here to see the complete list. As for now, let us know in the comments about your favorite tweaks and extensions.

Jailbreak iOS 8.4 with TaiG 2.3.0 on Mac OS X – How to

TaiG released TaiG v2 iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 jailbreak only a week before Apple released iOS 8.4 to public. TaiG has now also released jailbreak iOS 8.4 tool which is – again – Windows only. If you don’t have a Windows PC, we will share with you how to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on Mac OS X. TaiG team is of course expected to release the Mac OS X compatible tool soon but until the Mac version comes, you will have to jailbreak using a virtual machine. Here is how.

How to jailbreak iOS 8.4 using TaiG 2.3 OS X:

TaiG team was first to release iOS 8.3 jailbreak tool, however, PP released the first tool to jailbreak iOS 8.4. TaiG quickly followed by releasing its own updated version for iOS 8.4 and if you are a fan of TaiG, there is no reason why you should move to any other solutions. iOS 8.4 is the last update until iOS 9 comes in September giving you plenty of time to enjoy your jailbroken iPhone, iPad and iPod touch until the newer OS comes. iOS 8.4 JB tool also makes it possible for you to enjoy Apple Music which wasn’t a possibility with iOS 8.3 as Apple’s music streaming service requires you to be on iOS 8.4.
Remember the latest TaiG 2.3.x fixes the setreuid kernel patch and bring in Cydia 1.1.19 as a bundle. Here are the steps to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on OS X:

Required files: download Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac with its free 14 day trial.

    • Open Parallels Desktop 10.
    • Once launched, create a new Virtual Machine. Under Free Systems, click on Windows 10 Insider Preview.
    • You will be taken through the process of downloading and installing it on your Mac virtually.

Once Windows is booted on your machine, download and install iTunes 12.0.1. As we have previously mentioned, latest version of iTunes gives many errors to some users so it’s better to go with 12.0.1.

Once you have installed iTunes, follow our step by step guide to jailbreak iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 8.4. Download jailbreak iOS 8.4 TaiG 2.3.x from here if you are already a pro at steps.
If you get into any trouble, don’t forget to check out our extensive list of fixing TaiG errors.

Download TaiG 2.3.0 Bundled with Cydia 1.1.19 – Fixes Setreuid

Following the Cydia 1.1.19 update which helps tweaks and themes to modify look and feel of Cydia, TaiG has also released an updated jailbreak tool. This updated iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool and untether package is now available on Cydia. Bringing Cydia 1.1.19 bundled as part of the package, the latest TaiG 2.3.0 also fixes setreuid kernel patch. Official TaiG 2.3.0 changelog says:
Integrates Cydia 1.1.19, which is perfectly compatible of iOS 8.3-8.4; removes setreuid patch.
    Update and download TaiG 2.3.0:

Saurik had already essentially fixed the setreuid kernel patch issue with Cydia 1.1.19 update making it run as “mobile” always instead of “root”. If you had any troubles jailbreaking iOS 8 – iOS 8.4 using earlier TaiG versions, try the very latest and bug free TaiG 2.3 jailbreak tool. You can download TaiG 2.3.0 TaiGJBreak_EN_2300.zip for Windows from here. Once downloaded, follow our step by step guide to jailbreak iOS 8.4 on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on Windows or Mac OS X.

For those of you, who already have TaiG 2.2.0 or 2.2.1, can install the latest update as an untether package to get rid of the setreuid kernel patch. No need to download TaiG 2.3 or re-jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch! To update, you don’t even need to have any new repositories or sources as the TaiG 2.3.0 update is available on the default Telesphoreo repo.

    • Launch Cydia > load everything
    • Search for TaiG 8.1.3-8.x Untether
    • Update
    • ta da!

Velox 2 Sopporting iOS 8 To iOS 8.4 Is Now Available In Cydia

With the stabilization of iOS 8.4 jailbreak, a lot of compatible tweaks are making their way to Cydia with full support. In the last few days we covered Springtomize 3 and Activator version 1.9.4 packages that deals in integrating with many other tweaks. However, Activator still remains in the beta version which will be up for release soon.

Velox 2 has recently made its way to Cydia for iOS 8 to iOS 8.4. The tweak allows you to interact with different application right from the home screen, without any need to open the app itself. There are a lot of other features that this tweak covers apart from the standard interaction. Lets roll down to look the Velox 2 tweak in a bit of detail.
Velox 2 Enables You To Interact Without Opening The App

The way this tweak is quite elegant, simply swipe up on any app icon and a tray would appear that would behold options regarding that app. So no need to open the app, just interact from the Home screen. for instance, if you swipe up on a Clock app, a list of options would appear on the specialized tray to turn the alarm on or off. However, if there is a non supporting application, the tray would only show notifications for that app.

Other than this, the tweak also showcases a preferences panel that allows you to customize the tray, and gesture based control to provoke Velox and shifts from dark to light mode or vice versa. Velox 2 has some great tools to accomplish tasks right on the Home screen, saving time for users. The swipe up gesture is a pretty cool way to interact with apps. A wide range of information is displayed, judging by the application you are considering.

Another feature that not all tweaks has is Velox’s ability to enhance functionality from third party developers. Developers can be creative and search their own ways to improve Home screen functionality. Velox’s extensions can be put on Cydia for download using the tweaks API. You can install the tweak from Cydia’s BigBoss repository for just $1.99. So do give this tweak a whim and share your thoughts in the comments.

Cydia Updated To 1.1.20, Puts An End To App Crashing And Bug Fixes

Cydia has been providing a boatload of tweaks for your jailbreaked iOS device and recently there were some bugs and issues discovered. Recently, a new version 1.1.20 of Cydia just got released. The release is an upgrade to the 1.1.19 version which was out two days ago. The 1.1.19 version of Cydia brought a major change, which had support for running the substrate tweaks in Cydia Installer. The Saurik released Cydia 1.1.19 update runs more of a mobile than allowing root developers to enhance Cydia through jailbreak tweaks and themes.

The 1.1.20 version is a sequenced update to tackle the bugs and issues that had the tendency to crash Cydia. It also has support to ignore updates that do not function adequately, the incorrect values shown in storage info and half installed stage for packages. The update will fix many bugs and issues that hooked along with the previous major update as well as improved functionality.
Cydia Update Brings iTunes Backup For Sources/Repositories

All of these changes are welcomed to Cydia, however there is another feature added that allows users to backup their repositories or sources list to iTunes. This states that all of your sources and repos for installing tweaks will have a backup in your iTunes account. Henceforth, restoring your device after jailbreak would put your sources back in Cydia again. The change log for Cydia update 1.1.20 is as follows:

    Section Hiding Sometimes Crashed
If you went to “Sources”, tapped “All Sources” (or an individual source), tapped “Edit”, and toggled section hiding on or off, Cydia could crash. (This feature lets you hide specific categories of packages from showing up in “Changes” if you aren’t interested in them.) Cydia should no longer crash when you do that.
    Ignore Upgrades Didn’t Do Anything

If you had gone to “Change Package Settings” at the top of a package page for an installed package, and then chose “Ignore Upgrades” (which means “do not include this package when selecting Upgrade All”), that feature wasn’t doing anything. It should now work again.
    “Fix Half-Installed Package”… Didn’t
Ordinarily when a package installation fails for some reason, it can be left in a “half-installed” state, and Cydia offers to fix this state for you — but this wasn’t working. Now if you get a half-installed package and accept the option to fix it, it should get fixed.
    Storage Reported Impossible Values
If you went to the Cydia homepage, tapped “Storage Information”, and tapped “Storage” to learn how much room you have for new packages, Cydia reported strange numbers. Cydia should report reasonable numbers now.
    Missing Changelog Item Re Backup
When we wrote the changelog for Cydia 1.1.19, we forgot to mention that as of Cydia 1.1.19, your sources list is now included in your iTunes backup. This means that if you add a few sources, backup your jailbroken device, restore, and both put your backup onto your device and jailbreak again, Cydia will conveniently have your list of sources including the ones you added.
So update your Cydia to the latest version 1.1.20 and get hold of all the changes made in the update. As for now, this is it for the update, if you want acquaintances over compatible jailbreak tweaks, get a list from here. If you have any queries regarding the update, notify us in the comments below.

On Screen Text Selection Tweak, SwipeSelection Modified For Safari

There are ample of jailbreak tweaks that provides customization and control beyond the stock iOS boundaries. From different packages to stand alone tweaks, jailbreak has been a break through for many users to extend functionality. Likewise, SwipeSelection is one of the many reasons why people jailbreak their devices which is now modified to work with Safari.

SwipeSelection have been specialized to select on screen text and uses the swiping gestures on keyboard to move the cursor around. However, there was a bug in the tweak that caused it to work ineffectively with text boxes boxes in the Safari browser. Hence, the SwipeSelection tweak has been modified for perfection and removal of any hindrance that cause the respective issue.
Save Time And Select Easy With Swipeselection Tweak

Fortunately, SwipeSelection is open source so a developer has fixed the issue arising in Safari and modified the version which can now be installed from Cydia. Now you can control for a better perfection and select text in Safari, however, pertaining to the text box selection issue, it still exists. Its just a matter of time when some other developer would fix this issue in a new version and makes it available in Cydia.
If you are willing to give this new modified version a swirl, then you would have to add a new source to Cydia. Simply add the following source:

Once you did this, open the source and locate SwipeSelection. In case the original version of SwipeSelection pre-exists then it will be removed automatically and the modified version will take its place. The original developer of SwipeSelection, Kyle Howells stated on reddit that the modified version should have had a different name than the original tweak, for this would have avoided any misconception or confusion. Kyle also stated that the original version of SwipeSelection will be updated in the coming week which would probably have a fix to the Safari issue.
SwipeSelection is a neat tool to save you a lot of time and provides swipe gesture controls for easy assistance and precision. If you want to give it a try, install it from Cydia right away. As for now, let us know in the comments how you liked the modified version and what other changes do you see in the tweak.

40% Of Devices Are Running iOS 8.4 In Just Over A Week Of Release

30th of June marked the day for the arrival of Apple Music which became part of Apple’s latest update to the iOS lineup, iOS 8.4. It has been no more than eight days and it seems like the latest iOS update is doing its best. Numerically, the iOS version 8.4 is running on 40% of Apple devices. This is a great mark considering its just over a week since its official launch. It could be that many of the users wanted to get their hands on Apple’s latest Music Streaming Service, while other may argue about the arrival of TaiG Jailbreak for iOS 8.4.

Besides the Apple Music as part of the upgrade, iOS 8.4 contained many bug fixes and performance enhancements that made it’s adoption rate to go up. But comparatively speaking, Apple Music has a lot to contribute in the ever increasing percentage of adoption. The high adoption rate has many externalities affecting the private and competitive implications of Apple.
iOS 8.4 High Adoption Rate Is Dangerous For Spotify?

Even though the score is pretty impressive considering the time it has been for release, iOS 8.4 may put Spotify in dangerous course. Spotify, which serves the same interests as Apple Music has been the market leader for streaming music for a long time. An analytical firm, Mixpanel says the high adoption rate of iOS 8.4 might be ‘dangerous for Spotify’.

“That’s hundreds of millions of people who can get a free three-month trial with Apple Music.”

The competition is so intense that Apple’s pricing strategy for its Music Streaming service is accurately in line with Spotify. The scheduled charge will start after the free trial period ends for users. Just as Spotify, Apple plans to charge a mere $9.99 per month for an individual usage and $14.99 for a family plan which consists up to six members. The true results of the competition may be unveiled after the trial period is over.
An advantage that Apple Music has over Spotify is the Beats 1 radio station which is hosted by well known and well regarded artists, musicians and publishers. Its a 24 hour available service and users can benefit at any moment. iOS 8.4 comes free of charge as an official update, if you haven’t updated just yet, we don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t. This is it, leave your thoughts in the comments below.

The ‘Hacking Team’ Hack Reveals Potential iOS Exploitation Of Personal Data

As the ongoing story goes about one of the largest spyware company, Hacking Team being breached, there has been a lot of spill over on diversified tech industries. The security breach caused 400 GB of data leakage over the internet. Considering the major breach that took place this week, one of the major aspects it beholds was the Hacking Team’s ability for a potential exploitation of jailbroken iOS devices.

The leaked data was to be sold for different purposes to different organisations including governments. Macworld noted the potential ability of the Hacking Team to infiltrate and investigate jailbroken iPhones on the say of several agencies like the NSA. The leak not only expose those agencies but unveils intentions behind the viol repulsive act. Roll down for more detail.
Hacking Team Uses A Legitimate Apple Enterprise Signing Tool

For the task to be accomplished, the Hacking Team’s software needs to be installed on Jailbroken iPhones. This will work if you connect your jailbroken device to a malware infected computer. The hacked data unveiled that the cost of hacking an iOS device can be up to $55,242 which would include some of the aspects such as WhatsApp, Viber, Skype as well as location and all the possible attributes related to contacts. Though the hack should first match the prerequisites and conditions of the jailbroken iOS device.
Much has been speculated before and after Edward Snowden’s release of a trove of National Security Agency (NSA) documents in 2013 about the capabilities of the United States’ agencies as well as those of allies and enemies. The Hacking Team dump reveals quite a bit more about the routine functions of third-party suppliers into that ecosystem, including specifically enumerated capabilities.

iOS users should therefore take note that the long-running concern that jailbroken iPhones and iPads were susceptible to vulnerabilities that could include access by so-called state actors appears to be confirmed by the data breach.
Beetling, Jay Freeman’s coworker (Saurik), posted on Reddit that Hacking Team’s tools for the infiltration and monitoring of iOS devices is part of the same category as MSpy spyware tool which is dispersed on the BigBoss repository. Hence, the tool requires physical access by the user to his iPhone for the installation purposes. However, Beetling portrayed that the Hacking Team’s tool uses ‘Spearfishing’ attacks that cause the malware infected computer to inject the software in the connected iOS devices.
The breached spyware company uses an Apple enterprise tool for signing purposes that most organisations use to put specific software on their employee devices, in this case – iOS devices. This technique will bypass all installation protections and the operation would proceed further. Its uncanny for average users to worry about their jailbroken devices being spied as a lot of Benjamin Franklins are required and they wouldn’t waste it on an average user.
To be on the safe side, it is advised to Jailbreak users to use OpenSSH tool for root access and avoid using the AFC2 (Apple File Conduit 2). This may prevent hacking over the device when connected to a computer. Moreover, you should use trusted and authentic sources to download tweaks and stuff otherwise the impact may be adverse. However, if you must keep your data safe, you can add an appropriate passcode and disallow anyone who seeks physical assistance of your device. The Hacking Team has denied to share their views on the leak and some of the company executives claim the leak as a ‘false lie’. This is it for now, folks. Let us know how you feel about the major security breach.

Download TaiG 2.3.1 – Bundled with Cydia 1.1.20 and iOS 8-8.1.x Untether Package

TaiG has just released an updated TaiG 2.3.1 to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on iOS 8.4 – iOS 8.1.3.

    Download TaiG 2.3.1:

The hacker team had earlier released TaiG 2.3.0 which was bundled with Cydia 1.1.19. It fixed the major Setreuid issue along with other bugs. The updated TaiG version now comes with Cydia 1.1.20. Team has also released an update for the TaiG 8.0 – 8.1.x Untether package on Cydia. This will allow the users who had used TaiG jailbreak version 1.0.0 to 1.3.0 to fix the setreuid security flaw without the need to rejailbreak their device on iOS 8 – iOS 8.1.2.
Users of TaiG V1.0.0-1.3.0, supporting iOS 8.0-iOS 8.1.2, don’t need to rejailbreak. If you want to remove setreuid patch, add TaiG repo (apt.taig.com) or 3K repo (apt.3kzhushou.com), and update TaiG 8.0-8.1.X Untether.

You can download TaiG 2.3.1 from here. We still don’t know when the team would release the jailbreak tool supporting OS X. However, you can check our guides to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using virtual machine on Mac OS X. While the latest TaiG version fixes all the issues, if you still encounter any troubles, you can always check our extensive list of fixes for TaiG related issues including 1101, 1102, 1105, and more.
Check our guides to jailbreak iOS 8.4 – iOS 8.1.3 using TaiG jailbreak tool. Remember, you can follow these steps for every latest version that TaiG releases. Download TaiG 2.3.1 from the link shared above and follow the tutorials below to jailbreak your iOS devices.

Download TaiG 2.4.1 and Cydia 1.1.22 to Fix “Stuck at 60%” and Other Taig Issues

TaiG released the 2.3.1 version of the their TaiG jailbreak tool for iOS 8.4 – iOS 8.1.3 only yesterday. However, the tool, while fixing some other issues, created the “stuck at 60%” problem. We had shared the fix to this particular problem with our readers already. However, it’s always good to get the official patch up of things.

TaiG team has just rolled out a new version bringing the count to TaiG 2.4.1. Latest TaiG fixes the “stuck at 60%” issue which many users were facing when trying to jailbreak iOS 8.4. There’s no need to update to this if you have already successfully jailbroken your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. For those of you who couldn’t jailbreak using TaiG 2.3.1, now is the time when you might find some luck. Remember, this is the beta version of the release so there is absolutely no need to try this one if earlier version was working fine with your devices. Before you download TaiG 2.4.1, here is the complete changelog:
    V2.4.1 Beta
Fix the issue of getting stuck at 60% based on users’ feedback.
Optimize the process of jailbreak; improve the process’s stability.
Apart from TaiG update, Saurik too has released another update to the Cydia package, the Cydia 1.1.22 which followed the earlier Cydia 1.1.21 release. Here is what issues these latest Cydia bundles fix:
    Cydia 1.1.21
    Shared Sources Sometimes Broke
Using a URL to share a package from a third-party repository that had a typo could lead to an unremovable source.
    Clearing Caches Could Kill Cydia

A user reported a situation where they ran out of disk space, iOS cleared their caches, and then Cydia wouldn’t run.
    Upgrading Cydia Broke AppleTVs :/
Users of the AppleTV 2 jailbreak who upgraded to Cydia 1.1.19 or .20 would lose access to the core Cydia sources.
    Cydia 1.1.22
    Trivial Sources Had No Packages
Users who upgraded to Cydia 1.1.21 reported that all “trivial” APT sources they had added via Cydia (which are the vast majority of third-party sources used by normal users :/) did not show any packages. Frowny pants . Fixed?
    Download TaiG 2.4.1:

You can now download TaiG 2.4.1 beta (TaiGJBreak_EN_2410.zip); for Cydia, on your jailbroken device:

    • Launch Cydia
    • Tap on Changes > hit Refresh button
    • when the new packages have been loaded, search for Cydia Installer in the default Telesphoreo repository
    • Tap on Modify > Upgrade.

You can jailbreak your iOS devices using the latest TaiG 2.4.1 on both the Windows (official) and OS X (virtual machine) machines. Once you download TaiG 2.4.1, follow these guides for steps:

Here’s How To Get Lollipop’s Interruptions On iOS 8 And Above

Ever wanted to control your notifications on Apple’s iOS 8? After all, depending on the time of day, or your circumstances, you might not wish to be disturbed with a particular set at one time, like any notifications at all when you’re sleeping. Thankfully iOS’ Do Not Disturb covers that quite effectively, but it still leaves out a lot of room when user customization is required. Android in this regard is miles ahead of iOS, but thanks to tweaks, you can now bring this feature on your iPhone/iPad/iPod as well.

Use Stunden To Get Android Lollipop Like Interruptions Feature On iOS 8

Thanks to Cydia, you can now somewhat replicate Android Lollipop’s Interruptions feature on iOS. All you need to do is install Stunden on your device, and you’ll be good to go. As you can see in the image above as well, after you’re done with Stunden, you’ll be able to access iOS’ Do Not Disturb option in an entirely different manner, with some extent of customization also added to the mix. Not only this, but Stunden also comes with its own set of options, that can be accessed by launching the tweak. You can take a look at these in the image above.
Stunden will end up costing you $1.00 on Cydia and can be purchased through the default ModMyi repository in Saurik’s app store. You’ll also be needing to install Ryan Petrich’s Activator package on your device in order to access the tweak. Installing the Activator is relatively simple; the first thing you’re going to need to do is add the following repository in Cydia: “http://rpetri.ch/repo”. Once you’re done with this, you’ll be able to download and install the Activator package on your device. Sounds simple? Let us know how the process went for you in the comments section below.

Cydia 1.1.23 Update Brings Major Feature Upgrade

Cydia offers a wide range of tweaks and packages for jailbreak users that offer customization beyond iOS boundaries. From visual transitions to adding more functionality, Cydia has been a great source to look for tweaks and packages. In the today, Cydia has received another major upgrade that has two new features to offer its users. The features themselves are really important and its best for users with a jailbroken device to know about them.

The Cydia 1.1.23 update has bug fixes and upgraded features which were highly demanded by user. The major feature add-up includes the ability to downgrade package versions and a discovery feature to find extensions for different applications for stock iOS apps. The entire changelog of the Cydia 1.1.23 update is also provided below along with an in-depth detail over the extended upgrade in features.
Cydia Update Brings Discovery Feature And Downgrade Option For Packages

As we have mentioned before, users are now bestowed with the ability to downgrade their packages to the previous version or any preceding version. This means that if the recent version is not stable enough for you than downgrading to to the previous stable version is viable as long as the package is present in the repository. So, say no to tweaks that crash every now and then, all you have to do is downgrade to the previous stable version. Downgrading a package does not require much, all you have to do is tap Modify >> Downgrade from the tweaks menu on Cydia and you’re all good to go.
As long as the discovery feature is concerned, the ‘Find Extensions For Applications’ shows you a list of categorized substrate based tweaks that aid in extending customization on stock iOS apps. This feature is inspired by TweakHub, which is a positive addition to Cydia so extended tweaks can be located easily. Below is the complete changelog for the Cydia 1.1.23 update, take a look:
    Support Package Downgrades
All too often, I release a new package, and find out during the first few hours after release that there was a serious regression . Even if I pull the new version, users who upgraded do not have a way to easily downgrade.
Now, not only will Cydia allow you to downgrade to the “current” version, but it also allows downgrading to any previous version that is available on the repository. Going forward, I will leave previous versions online for some time while users are able to sort out issues.

    Find Extensions for Applications
This feature was directly inspired by UnlimApps, who released a Substrate extension for Cydia called TweakHub.
The idea: automatically determine what applications a Substrate extension is designed to modify, and use that to provide categorized lists based on the iOS applications you have installed.
This technique is exciting, as it does not rely on repositories and developers to manually tag packages (this never works out): most of this information is already picked up automatically by Cydia’s “whole package index” .
(Oh, if it isn’t yet clear why UnlimApps wanted this feature: they develop a number of app-specific extensions ;P.)
    Clearing Caches Could Kill Cydia
A user reported a situation where they ran out of disk space, iOS cleared their caches, and then Cydia wouldn’t run.
Update to Cydia 1.1.23 by going to Changes Tab in Cydia >> Tap Refresh >> Update after the latest version reloads on the screen. If an essential upgrade option is prompted for Cydia, simply go for the ‘Complete Upgrade. That’s all for now folks. Let us know how you liked the discovery feature on Cydia’s 1.1.23 update.

TaiG 2.4.2 Released to Fix iOS 8.4 Jailbreak-Stuck Issues – Bundled with Cydia 1.1.23

Woot! TaiG team seems to be busy with the bug fixing of their iOS jailbreak tool for iOS 8.4 – iOS 8.1.3. A new TaiG 2.4.2 beta is now out including the very latest Cydia 1.1.23 fixing various issues. Here are the details and download links.

What’s new in TaiG 2.4.2 beta and Cydia 1.1.23:

The latest version of TaiG jailbreak focuses on fixing the “stuck at 30%” and “stuck at 40%” issues. We had already shared with you the fixes of these two and various other bugs that readers shared with us. You can check our long list of TaiG bug fixes. However, as mentioned in our earlier posts too, it is always preferable to get official bug fixes to get things going smoothly. Considering a large amount of users who reported getting stuck at 30% and 40% during the jailbreaking process, TaiG has finally released the fix with TaiG 2.4.2 beta.
However, this is not a mandatory update so those of our readers who managed to successfully jailbreak using earlier TaiG versions are recommended to not update to this as it’s in the beta version. This build is specifically recommended for those who got the stuck at 30% or 40%. Here’s the complete TaiG 2.4.2 beta changelog:
    Integrate the latest Cydia 1.1.23.
Fix issues of getting stuck at 30% and 40%.
If you were getting stuck at 30% or 40% when you tried to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad using the TaiG jailbreak, then you can try again using the TaiG 2.4.2 beta jailbreak tool.
Now that we are over discussing TaiG 2.4.2 beta, here are what changes does Cydia 1.1.23 – also released today – brings to your jailbroken iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.

    • The new Cydia update allows you to downgrade packages
    • It helps you to easily discover tweaks for your installed apps
    • Cache bug fixed

Here’s the complete Cydia 1.1.23 changelog:
    Support Package Downgrades
