Control Media Playback On Mac Using Apple TV Siri Remote

Here’s how you can control media playback on your Mac using Siri Remote that comes bundled with Apple TV 4.

Apart from the new Apple TV 4, the Siri Remote that comes bundled with the entire package is a sweet little accessory on its own. It works fluently, and is packed with bare minimum controls needed to navigate around the tvOS UI. And since it uses Bluetooth to connect with the Apple TV 4, therefore you do not need to point it at the device itself in order to control things on your TV.
Speaking of Bluetooth – the Siri Remote can even pair up with a Mac as well like any other Bluetooth device. But there’s one big problem – it’s not of much use once paired, therefore you need an app to translate the Siri Remote’s commands into something which OS X understands directly. This is where a handy little app called SiriMote comes in, which lets you use the Siri Remote to control media playback on your Mac in an absolutely seamless fashion.
First up, we’ll show you how to pair the Siri Remote to your Mac.
How To Pair Siri Remote To Your Mac

    1. Put your Siri Remote in discoverable mode by pressing the Menu + Volume Up buttons for a few seconds. Also make sure that your Apple TV 4 is unplugged from the power outlet before doing so.
    2. On your Mac, launch System Preferences then click on ‘Bluetooth.’
    Advertisements

    3. Once you see a new Bluetooth device, simply click on ‘Pair’ and you’re done.
Use Siri Remote To Control Media Playback On Your Mac

With the pairing bit out of the way, simply download a free app called SiriMote (download link) and you’re good to go. Also keep in mind that you can use SiriMote to control a bunch of things on your Mac apart from ‘media,’ such as Keynote.

The app is extremely ease to set up and use and we’re certain that users will get a good kick out of it once installed onto their Mac. And yes, the app is currently only available for Mac users, with a Windows version nowhere in sight.

SiriMote requires users to have at least OS X 10.11 El Capitan installed onto their Mac as well as have Bluetooth 4.0 support. If you fulfill the prerequisites then you’re good to go for installation and using your Siri Remote to control your Mac’s media playback.
We highly recommend that you give this app a shot, especially if you’re a movie buff and happen to utilize your Mac more than your Apple TV 4.

tvOS 9.1 Update For Apple TV 4 Released – Direct Download Link

Apple has released tvOS 9.1 update (final version) for Apple TV 4 users around the world. We have the direct download link to the update right here.

tvOS 9.1 Update Has Arrived For The Apple TV 4

Given the fact that the Apple TV 4 is a fairly brand new product, the Cupertino company is doing all it can in its might to ensure that the experience it’s going to deliver via its new hobby product is as top notch as possible. For instance, it was just a while back Apple seeded tvOS 9.0.1 for users around the globe, and now, the company has seen it fit to release the first major point update for its software that powers its set-top box, ensuring things are ahead of the company’s game.
tvOS 9.1 builds on top of the original release of tvOS and adds refinements when it comes to bug fixes and of course, performance. If you’re looking to update your Apple TV 4 right away then simply follow the steps which we have outlined below.

    • Turn on your Apple TV 4.
    • Using your Siri Remote, navigate to the Settings app on your home screen.
    • Now scroll down and click to open ‘System.’
    • Under the ‘Maintenance’ section, open ‘Software Updates.’
    • Now open ‘Update Software’ and install tvOS 9.1 when it pops up.

Be sure that you do not interact with your Apple TV 4 when the installation process is underway. Given the Apple TV 4 has much more powerful hardware compared to the previous-gen Apple TV, the installation process won’t take that long to fully complete. And if, for some reason, the installation does take a while, then be sure to exercise a little patience.

tvOS is extremely powerful in what it is capable of doing, and it’s the first time ever the Cupertino company is bringing apps and games to the big screen through a dedicated App Store. Apart from that, tvOS also features Siri, granting you the luxury of interacting with Apple’s famed voice assistant for quick and simple queries.
When it comes to software on any platform, we highly recommend that users go through the trouble of being on the latest and greatest no matter the situation. After all, new software brings with it a lot of stability improvements along with performance fixes, something which enhance the overall user experience, and that too for free.
Be sure to update your Apple TV 4 to tvOS 9.1, and once done, do not forget to share your thoughts with us about it in the comments section below. We love to hear back from our cherished readers!
You can directly download the tvOS 9.1 update final firmware file by clicking on this link.

Report: Devs let down by poor sales on the Apple TV App Store

Word is starting to spread that some developers responsible for top-charting games and apps on the iOS App Store are seeing less than stellar revenue from what seem to be "successful" apps on the new Apple TV App Store.
That's according to TouchArcade editor-in-chief Eli Hodapp, who published an editorial yesterday about the state and potential future of developers launching apps for the revamped Apple TV that launched late in October with its own App Store.
"I've been talking to many different developers who have released games or apps on the device, and the general vibe is that if things don't turn around following Christmas, Apple is going to have a real problem on their hands," writes Hodapp. "'Successful' apps are making $100 a day on a good day, with revenue continuing to trail off since launch."
Though Hodapp's perspective is based on anecdotal reports, mobile game makers may appreciate hearing how some of their compatriots are faring in this new marketplace.
When Apple debuted the game-ready Apple TV in September many game developers seemed cautiously optimistic about making (or porting) games for the device, though Apple later constrained their efforts by (among other things) forbidding developers from making Apple TV games that require a controller to play.

Apple’s TV service was suspended due to clashing networks

This week, reports began circulating, claiming that Apple has officially suspended its Internet TV service, though we didn’t have many details at the time. Now, some more information has come to light as just as you would expect, Apple was unable to get networks to agree on pricing, or channel bundles.
The big thing Apple was pushing for this year was a ‘skinny bundle’, which would be a base package of around 12 or so network channels for no more than $30 a month. This seems to have been a particularly tough sell, particularly when it came down to how much each individual channel was worth and what would get cut or added to each package.

This is all coming from a new report from Re/Code, which tends to be pretty accurate when it comes to these things. The report shows that another big issue for Apple was that while networks would claim that they understand that consumers don’t want to pay for channels they don’t watch, each network would insist that their channels were all ‘must haves’.
Re/Code gave Fox as an example, noting that the network was reluctant to sell Fox and Fox News without the FX or Sports channels bundled in. This same trend carried over across multiple networks, which defeated the purpose. The whole point of Apple’s service was to provide cable cutters with a way of getting the channels they want on a more individual basis, without also having to pay for additional channels they don’t necessarily want.

VLC is now available for the Apple TV

One of the most popular cross-platform video players, VLC, is now available on Apple TV, giving users the ability to watch their collection of videos without the need to convert or transcode them.
VLC has been in the works for Apple TV since September, and entered internal testing in November. According to the VideoLan team, VLC for Apple TV is now ready for public use, and it supports the same huge range of formats that you'd expect from the popular video player app.
The VLC app for Apple TV supports playback from a variety of network sources, including SMB, UPnP, Plex and FTP. The app also includes a way to send files to the Apple TV for local playback through a feature called 'casting', which works by dragging and dropping videos through a web interface.
You'll need to own a fourth-generation Apple TV from 2015 if you want to run VLC, and it should be available in the tvOS App Store shortly. Future updates will include the ability to play content from cloud services such as Dropbox and OneDrive.

Apple might be interested in buying Time Warner

A while back, it was revealed that Apple has put plans for its TV streaming service on hold after failing to get all networks to agree on packages, pricing and their respective revenue cuts. However, now it looks like Apple might be interested in kickstarting things by buying assets of Time Warner.
Apparently on Monday, Time Warner CEO, Jeffrey Bewkes, told investors that he would consider a sale of the company with Apple being listed as a potential buyer.

That particular tidbit comes from sources speaking with New York Post (Via: Macrumors), on top of that Fox and even AT&T were also reported to have shown interest in Time Warner. Time Warner happens to own a lot of assets that could help with Apple’s TV service, including HBO, TNT, TBS, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, CNN and NBA TV.
Owning Time Warner could be exactly what Apple needs to offer its often talked about ‘Skinny bundle’, which would be a base package of several channels featuring popular TV shows to get people subscribing. Apple could then offer packages from companies like Fox, Disney and ABC at higher subscription tiers.

ESPN is in talks with Apple about streaming service

While we did recently hear that Apple has put its TV streaming ambitions on hold, it looks like the company may still be in talks with some networks. We recently learned that Apple was named as a potential suitor for the sale of Time Warner and this week, it has come out that ESPN is in ‘on going’ talks with the company about its streaming service.
John Skipper, the president of ESPN, recently spoke with The Wall Street Journal, confirming that he believes Apple is in a great position to start up a TV service with a great OS platform for it: “They are creating a significantly advantageous operating system and a great television experience and that television experience is fabulous for sports.”

Skipper then went on to say that while Apple has ran into hurdles with other networks in regards to putting together bundles, ESPN continues to work with Apple: “We are big proponents of believing it would be a fabulous place to sell some subscriptions. We have ongoing conversations. They have been frustrated by their ability to construct something which works for them with programmers. We continue to try to work with them.”
Apple has been trying to prepare its Internet TV streaming service for cord cutters for well over a year now but unfortunately, many networks failed to agree on pricing and bundles. The thing causing the most disrupt was Apple’s ‘Skinny’ bundle, which was supposed to include some of the popular channels from multiple networks and be priced at around $30 a month.

Access Apple TV 4 Hidden Advanced Settings Menu – How To

Here’s how you can access the hidden ‘Advanced Settings’ menu in Apple TV 4 running tvOS.

The Apple TV 4 has a hidden Advanced Settings section which is meant to be tinkered around with only if you’re an Apple employee or if you know really very well what you’re doing with the device. Getting to the menu is absolutely a walk in the park, and the main requirement in order to pull off this feat is the Apple TV 4 unit itself as well as the Siri Remote which Cupertino ships with the device. Keep in mind that this won’t work with any other controller, especially those which you mapped yourself to work with the Apple TV 4.
    All set? Let’s begin.
Access Hidden ‘Advanced Settings’ Menu In tvOS

    1. Turn on your Apple TV 4 unit by pressing any button on the Siri Remote.
    2. Now open the ‘Settings’ app from the home screen in tvOS.
    3. Scroll down and then open ‘System.’
    4. Now open ‘Software Updates.’
    Advertisements

    5. Do not open any menu over here. And instead, on your Siri Remote, click on the ‘Play / Pause’ button four times.
    6. You’ll notice a new ‘Advanced Settings’ menu entry has appeared at the bottom. Simply open it up.

As you can see, there are a number of options available to play around with. But quite frankly, they’re of not much use if you’re an average user. But if you’re looking for a cool Apple TV 4 party trick to pull off in front of your friends and whatnot, then the above little guide is all you need to know about.
Despite being a TV-centric operating system, tvOS is a powerful piece of software that defies everything else available on the market. With great features like apps and games, topped off powerful Apple services such as Siri, tvOS is remarkable in a lot of ways. We’re certain Apple will boost the credentials of tvOS as we move into the future with software updates being pushed on a timely basis to the newfound set-top box.
While the Apple TV 4 hardware might not look powerful at first glance, but the little hockey puck like device packs some serious internals to keep the ball rolling. While we did wish that the device supported 4K video, but it’s great to see that it excels easily in every other area compared to other off-the-shelf devices.
Wrapping things up, we really hope you found the above tutorial to be of some use, but we’re certain that it will end up being no more than a party trick for a lot of you out there. Still, it’s a great thing to know.

Apple Releases tvOS 9.1.1 Update for Apple TV With Podcasts App

Apple yesterday released the third update to tvOS, the operating system designed to run on the fourth-generation Apple TV. tvOS 9.1.1 is a minor update that likely includes bug fixes and performance updates to address issues discovered since the launch of tvOS 9.1, which was released to the public in December of 2015.
The new 9.1.1 update can be downloaded over the air through the Settings app on the Apple TV by going to System –> Software Update. Those who have automatic software updates turned on will be upgraded to the new 9.1.1 operating system automatically.

tvOS 9.1.1 is available a month and a half after the release of tvOS 9.1. Like the first minor tvOS update, tvOS 9.0.1, tvOS 9.1.1 focuses on under-the-hood improvements, but it does introduce one major change — a new Podcasts app for the Apple TV.
tvOS 9.1.1 comes as Apple is testing the second major update to the tvOS operating system, tvOS 9.2. Apple has thus far seeded one beta of tvOS 9.2 to developers, which includes new features like support for Bluetooth keyboards, app folders, a revamped app switcher, and more.

Download: tvOS 9.1.1 For Apple TV 4 Released

tvOS 9.1.1 firmware update for Apple TV 4 is now available for download. Here’s everything that’s new as well as the direct download link for the IPSW file.

tvOS 9.1.1 Brings With It The Podcasts App

Apple dropped a barrage of beta software yesterday along with iOS 9.3 beta 2. In that barrage of software was tvOS 9.2, which included the Podcasts app by default. Now, Apple has today released tvOS 9.1.1 for Apple TV 4 users, which brings with it the Podcasts app as well as other bug fixes and performance enhancements.
In order to download the update straight away onto your Apple TV 4, first of all make sure that you’re connected to a WiFi network by heading over to Settings > Network. Once that’s out of the way, simply follow the steps below:
    1. Open the Settings app in tvOS using the Siri Remote.
    2. Now scroll down and open ‘System.’
    3. Under the ‘Maintenance’ section you should see an entry labelled ‘Software Updates.’ Open it up.

    4. Now select ‘Update Software.’
    Advertisements

    5. Select ‘Download and Install’ when prompted for it.

    6. Lastly, select ‘Update Now.’

At this point, do not touch your Apple TV 4 unit and let the installation process complete. This may take a while and the screen will go blank when things are in motion, so do not panic.
We highly recommend everyone to go ahead and install tvOS 9.1.1 onto their Apple TV 4 devices as it improves the overall stability when it comes to the user experience. Furthermore, if you wish to hold back from the download, you may do so as well, but we would recommend otherwise.
Lastly, apart from the over the air route mentioned above, you can download the tvOS 9.1.1 firmware file directly from Apple’s servers as well which you can use with iTunes for restoration purposes. Keep in mind that you’ll be needing a USB-C to Type-A cable in order to connect your Apple TV 4 with your PC or Mac, so be sure to have that in hand before making the leap. Once those prerequisites are out of the way, you can click on this link to download tvOS 9.1.1.
Having taken the new tvOS 9.1.1 update for a spin, we couldn’t find anything else apart from the new Podcasts app, which we’re certain many of you will definitely will never ever use. Or maybe you will, depending on the fact whether you like listening to podcasts or not. Still, we believe it’s a nice little addition and will definitely appease a handful of users out there.

How To Factory Reset Apple TV 4

Want to factory reset your Apple TV 4? We’ll show you how, in a complete step-by-step fashion.

There comes a point in every device’s lifespan where it becomes absolutely necessary for the user to hit the red button, essentially bringing all settings to the factory state. And given that we are surrounded by smart devices, there’s a chance that we might go overboard with a few tweaks of our own during usage, forcing us to bring things back to normal by taking certain measures, such as performing a factory reset. Today, we’ll keep the topic of ‘factory reset’ in mind, and the device on which we’re going to apply it on is the Apple TV 4.
Factory Reset Apple TV 4 In A Few Easy Steps

    1. Turn on your Apple TV 4 and then open the ‘Settings’ app from tvOS’s home screen.
    2. Scroll all the way down and then open ‘System.’

    3. Now select ‘Reset.’

    Advertisements

    4. Select ‘Restore’ from the list of available options. If there are any software updates available, your Apple TV 4 will download them as well.

Keep this thing in your mind that the Apple TV 4 will take quite a while to boot back up once you take the factory reset route. Do not be alarmed, and make sure that you do not touch anything during the whole process.
Once your Apple TV 4 is done with the factory reset process, it will boot straight up and you’ll be required to sign in with your Apple ID and WiFi network to get things up and rolling again. Make sure that you remember your Apple ID username and password, otherwise you will not be able to access services that are offered by Apple.
We highly recommend that you go through the factory reset route if you believe that you have made unnecessary setting changes on your Apple TV 4 that might in turn affect the way you use the device. After all, it’s very hard to trace back at times what changes and tweaks we have made, and kicking things back into place in one fell swoop is the way to go in a lot of cases.
Also be sure to keep in mind that performing a factory reset will delete everything off your Apple TV 4, obviously, which includes apps and pretty much everything else you can think of.
Did you find the above guide useful? Then be sure to let us know about it in the comments section below.

Developer Runs Picture-In-Picture Functionality On The Apple TV 4 – Video

Apple’s iOS 9 platform brought quite a handful of changes in the company’s ecosystem, including the picture-in-picture view. Currently, only devices running iOS 9 have access to the functionality such as the iPad Pro and other iPad variants. However, developer @stroughtonsmith modified his Apple TV 4 just to try his luck on getting the picture-in-picture mode.

Developer Running Picture-In-Picture Mode On New Apple TV

Picture-in-picture mode allows you to continue watching the video while you browse through other stuff or simply use another application. The feature is absent on the new Apple TV which is quite a nuisance for some since it limits your experience to the current media being played on Apple’s HDMI streaming box. For some, the picture-in-picture feature is a must have because it freely allows you to watch your stream alongside your browsing.
Considering the fact that the new Apple TV’s tvOS is based on iOS, there are a bevy of similarities running under the hood. Both operating systems share almost the same codes and Apple has either only modified or disabled some parts of tvOS. Henceforth, this developer poached forward to try running the picture-in-picture mode on the new Apple TV. It’s one of the advantages of having a dedicated operating system that shares some of the characteristics inherited from the mobile platform.
    Advertisements

Surprisingly, the feature ran buttery smooth, allowing the media file to shrink down to the corner. Since the feature is associated with movies and other media files, it makes us question why Apple has yet not officially introduced the feature in its smart streaming box. The developer showcased some of the files in picture-in-picture mode that worked like a charm, without any stutter or hindrance in the procedure.

It’s uncanny to say that the Apple TV 4 is not capable of handling the feature. It boasts an A8 chip that is powerful enough to support it. It could be that Apple is waiting for the proper time to update the feature in its new and improved Apple TV. However, yet it is not bundled in the tvOS, which is super disappointing for some. Moreover, many of us do not carry that specific know-how to hack or overpower Apple’s tvOS, so let’s just leave it to those who can and wait for Apple to update picture-in-picture mode, if the company has any plans of the sort.
This is it for now, folks. What do you guys think about picture-in-picture mode on the new Apple TV? Ever felt the need to size down your media and continue browsing? Let us know in the comments.

SteelSeries Nimbus MFi Wireless iOS Controller Review

    Introduction

Finding the right gaming controller for your device can be tricky. There are a lot of options on the market and that number is growing every month. There’s the cheap aftermarket options and there are premium grade specialist controllers, plus everything else in between; it can be a bit of a minefield to navigate. The issue is made ever more complicated when it comes to Apple devices, as you have to find something that is compatible too, as we all know how strict Apple can be with their regulations, not that this is a bad thing for the consumer though if it means you get a fully compliant product.
Steelseries are no stranger to mobile device controllers, as we’ve seen in the past with their Stratus iOS controller. However, the Stratus was small and it was pretty darn expensive too, so what does the new one have to offer that’s so special? Well for starters, it’s bigger, more akin to a console controller, so it should feel right at home for most gamers. Then there’s the other perk, it’s competitively priced, and that should make your wallet feel a little safer too. With support for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, it should fulfill all your iOS gaming needs and more. Obviously, the main one here is Apple TV, as Apple continue to move into the living room market and when you’re kicking back on the couch to play a few games, the Nimbus looks set to be the perfect partner for Apple TV.

“The SteelSeries Nimbus wireless controller lets you play hundreds of your favourite controller-supported games on your new Apple TV, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This full-sized controller’s ergonomic design is perfect for gaming. It gives you 40-plus hours of game play with just a quick charge using the Lightning connector, along with LED notifications, an easy-to-navigate menu button, and pressure-sensitive buttons for the most precise gaming controls.” – Apple Store
    Features

    • Pressure-sensitive buttons for precise gaming control
    • Console-style left and right analog triggers
    • Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity
    • Lithium-ion battery recharges via Lightning connector for 40-plus hours of gaming
    • Four LEDs display your player status during multiplayer gameplay
    • Colour-coded action buttons
    • Comfort and ergonomics of a full-sized controller

    Specifications

    • Bluetooth Compatibility: Bluetooth 4.0
    • Power: Lightning connector for charging
    • Batteries: Rechargeable Lithium-Ion
    • Height: 6.32 cm / 2.49 in.
    • Width: 15 cm / 5.91 in.
    • Weight: 242 g / 8.54 oz.
    • Length: 11 cm / 4.33 in.

The packaging is nicely designed, with a clear image of the controller on the front, showing off the main features, as well as a brief show of the overall device support.

Around the back, a few more specs such as the pressure sensitive d-pad, rechargeable battery, lightning connector and pressure sensitive buttons.

The side of the box has a more comprehensive run down of device support, and as you can see, it’s pretty versatile.

Aside from the right device, you’ll need to ensure you’ve got the right version of iOS (or above) for the controller to work.

One thing I always like to see, good packaging. The controller is very well protected in padded foam and the box should even double as a protective case when you need to store it away.

In the box, you’ll find the usual quick start guide, as well as a couple of stickers should you like showing off the branding a little.

    Toda a review:

Set Custom DNS On Apple TV 4 And Improve Streaming Speed

Here’s how you can set a custom DNS address on Apple TV 4 and improve streaming speeds in a few easy steps.

Apple TV 4 is a wonderful device for streaming content from the cloud, but things can slow down dramatically at times even if you have a fast Internet connection all thanks to your ISP’s crippled DNS server. But just like iOS, you can set custom DNS addresses to speed things up a bit, and hopefully put an end to ‘buffering’ once and for all.
Just follow the steps outlined below and you’ll be up and running in no time.
Set Custom DNS Address On Apple TV 4

We’re assuming that you’re connected to a WiFi network already at the start of this guide. If you aren’t, then simply navigate to Settings > Network to connect to a WiFi network right away.
All set? Let’s dive right into it.
    1. With the Apple TV 4 turned on, use the Siri Remote to open the ‘Settings’ app from the home screen.
    2. You’ll see a list of options. Open up ‘Network.’

    3. Select your WiFi network at the top.

    4. On the next screen select your WiFi network once more.

    5. Scroll down and you’ll see an option labeled ‘Configure DNS.’ Click to open it up.

    6. Now select ‘Manual.’

    7. Enter the custom DNS address you’d like to use and then select ‘Done.’

We highly recommend that you do a quick search online and see which DNS server you wish to use. But if you’re asking us, we would advise you to try out Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and OpenDNS (208.67.222.222) on your Internet connection, as they’re widely used addresses with fast and efficient servers spread across the globe.
Also keep in mind that changing the DNS address will not instantly upgrade your Internet connection to download things faster. A better DNS server will only translate pages much more quicker compared to the older one, nothing more, nothing less.
If you constantly stream things like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and more on your Apple TV 4, then it’s recommended to give a third-party DNS server a shot as they can help a lot in fixing streaming speeds, cutting down the buffering effect altogether in a lot of cases.
If you found the above guide useful, then be sure to let us know about it in the comments section below. And while you’re at it, also check out our guide on how to set custom DNS addresses on an iPhone and iPad in a few easy steps down below.

New In tvOS 9.2 Beta 3 – Voice Dictation For Apple TV 4

Apple seeded the third beta of tvOS 9.2 yesterday to developers and it seems as though the new piece of software for Apple TV 4 is more loaded than we originally thought it would be.

Apple TV 4 Takes A Leaf Out Of OS X And iOS’ Playbook – Learns Dictation

Lifting the hood of tvOS 9.2 beta 3 reveals a bunch of startling revelations and things that we wished were there in the first ever release of tvOS. For instance, this update brings with it support for voice dictation, just like on iOS and OS X, allowing you to fill out text boxes without having to swipe left and right on the less than stellar tvOS on-screen keyboard.
The way the new feature works in tvOS 9.2 beta 3 is absolutely simple as well. Once you’re in a text box that supports voice dictation, you’ll be prompted to hold down the ‘mic’ button on the Siri remote to input text using voice. Once you’re done, simply let go of the ‘mic’ button and everything will be translated to plain text.

You can even use the newfound dictation feature in tvOS 9.2 beta 3 to dictate usernames and passwords for different accounts as well, which means you can kiss the on-screen keyboard goodbye.

Last but not the least, Siri has learned a new trick in tvOS, allowing users to search the App Store using the power of their voice. A handy addition if you’re asking us, especially if you consider yourself to be an app addict on Apple TV 4.
It’s rather strange that Apple took a while to bring such a feature to its tvOS platform, given that the feature has been on iOS and OS X for a long, long time. And considering the fact that tvOS makes good use text input method, it leaves us with our heads scratching for obvious reasons.
We’re quite certain that we’ll see at least one more beta before tvOS 9.2 is rolled out to everyone around the globe. And given the fact that Apple is throwing in new features with every release of pre-release software for Apple TV 4, there’s a high chance that the final build will bring with it surprises we haven’t even seen or heard of before.
You can give tvOS 9.3 beta a shot on your Apple TV 4 only if you’re a registered developer with Apple. If you’re not, then you might want to wait this one out as the Cupertino giant isn’t currently running any beta program for public testers.
Eventually the company might. But that day isn’t today!

CBS not talking with Apple about streaming TV services anymore

CBS was in some heated negotiations with Apple to bring forth their lofty network services through the network, and potentially allowing you to stream that content to Apple devices. But that's no longer, or so says the CEO of CBS.

According to the CEO, Les Moonves, they really haven't heard from Apple regarding that aforementioned TV streaming service. The initial meetings occurred, and they appeared to be positive from what we can gather. It's just that Apple never called them back afterwards.

"We had conversations awhile back, and we haven't had recent conversations with them," Moonves told CNNMoney in an interview. Internet streaming services have accounted for nearly 40% of their revenue this past year, meaning that they understand the importance of digital media. They've made a number of partnerships with outside companies for streaming content, so a partnership with Apple isn't out of the question. Apple just needs to answer the phone.
