Upcoming Assassin’s Creed Syndicate PC Patch Will Fix SLI-Scaling Issues

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate PC has been plagued by SLI-scaling issues, and at the moment of writing, Ubisoft’s latest AC title isn’t playable with two (or more) GPU’s.

For those interested in playing Assassin’s Creed Syndicate with the use of more GPU’s, we’ve some good news.
As reported by website DSO Gaming, Ubisoft will be releasing a patch to fix SLI-scaling issues “soon”.
Replying to a ticket made by a AC Syndicate player, Ubisoft’s community representative ‘UbiSmarmy’, stated that the upcoming patch will fix the SLI issue that has been reported.
For the initial ticket and the reply, check out the screenshot down below.

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec in collaboration with eight other Ubisoft studios*, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is an epic single player experience set in London during the height of the Industrial Revolution, an incredible age of invention that transforms the lives of millions. During this time, the gap between the poor and the rich expands exponentially, making workers’ lives little more than legalised slavery. The lower classes fight for survival by forming a new kind of family – gangs – and adapting to life in the criminal underworld. Players will embody both Jacob Frye and Evie Frye, twin Assassins raised to follow the Creed. Jacob, a determined, hot-headed and rebellious leader of an underground gang, is vastly different than his sister Evie, a master of stealth and control. Together, Jacob and Evie team up to challenge rivals, plutocrats and Templars alike to free the masses from poverty and corruption, and, ultimately, wrestle back control of London.
“The ability to lead an underground gang, commandeer any vehicle on hand and use modern tools to take on an expansive and fast-paced Victorian London sets this game apart,” said Marc-Alexis Côté, Creative Director at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has been in development for more than two years and this new modern take on the living open world will please Assassin’s Creed fans and newcomers alike.”
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was announced back in May of 2015 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. While the console versions launched back in October of 2015, the PC version launched in November of 2015.

Assassin’s Creed Series May Not Go Back To Annual Cycle Following Hiatus, Ubisoft CEO Reveals

Last week, the Assassin’s Creed team confirmed what was being rumored since January: there won’t be any new mainline Assassin’s Creed game released in 2016. This year’s hiatus will allow the team to re-examine the franchise, update the development process and bring some of the changes the series definitely needs. And it seems like we may not be seeing annual Assassin’s Creed games in the future, according to Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot.

Mr. Yves Guillemot has recently confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed will not necessarily go back to its previous cycle. The Ubisoft CEO stated that the goal is to come back with a new game of the series on a regular basis, which sounds like the right thing to do for the series, as yearly releases have come with a huge drop in quality for the most recent entries.
“The goal is not to automatically come back to an annual cycle, but to come back on a regular basis. We can’t say every year.”

News on next year’s Assassin’s Creed game are scarce at the moment, but it seems like the game will be set in ancient Egypt and begin a new character trilogy. The game is apparently going to come with some brand new features that will set it apart from the rest of the series, but what these features precisely are is unknown. None of these details have been confirmed by Ubisoft, so we have to take them with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes in.
The latest Assassin’s Creed game released last year on consoles and PC is Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. The latest entry of the Chronicles subseries, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles India, has been released last month.
    Thanks, Games Industry

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Patch 1.4 Improves Performance

Prior to the release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Ubisoft promised to learn from their previous mistakes and ensure the game was properly optimized across a wide range of hardware configurations. The previous title, Assassin’s Creed Unity was a shambles, and became a source of mockery due to the hilarious bugs, and broken gameplay. Despite Ubisoft’s best assurances, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate didn’t run that well and had some fairly hefty system requirements for high resolutions. Furthermore, the game’s SLI support was terrible and exhibited poor scaling. Thankfully, this has now been resolved in a driver update from NVIDIA which helps users with dual card setups to leverage extra performance.
On another note, Ubisoft has just released patch 1.4 with a raft of performance improvements and enhanced stability. Here is the changelog in full:
    Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate – Patch 1.4 Changelog:
    PC

    • Added DLC – The Last Maharaja support
    • Fixed “Jack’s message” puzzle issue
    • Fixed crash in World War I mission
    • Fixed crash on Title Screen when downloading Jack The Ripper
    • Fixed geometry corruption on Intel integrated GPU
    • Fixed TXAA shaking
    • Fixed several render issues
    • Fixed several UI issues
    • Fixed few online issues

    Online

    • Fixed an issue where glitches might fail to award the player Helix rewards
    • Fixed an issue where the permanent XP Boost from the Season Pass would not be present in some cases

    World/3D/Menu/HUD

    • Fixed a typo with the Military Chapel’s bombing description
    • Fixed an issue where the “Legendary Assassin kukri” would appear uncrafted and unusable after crafting it
    • Fixed an issue with some achievements unlocking when they should not

    Mission

    • Fixed an issue in the “A Night to Remember” mission where the user could be stuck outside the vault in some rare cases, leaving no possibility to progress further
    • Fixed an issue, in the “Jack the Ripper” DLC, in the “Jack’s Lieutenants” mission where the objective would not update
    • Fixed an issue, in the “Jack the Ripper” DLC, in the “Letter of Intent” mission where it could fail without a desynch in some specific cases

    Stability/Performance

    • Improved performance and stability
Does Assassin’s Creed Syndicate run well on your system?

Assassin’s Creed Dev: We Want to Take Time to Develop a Great Game With Unique & Meaningful Experience

For six years (Assassin’s Creed II 2009 – Assassin’s Creed Syndicate 2015), Ubisoft has produced and released Assassin’s Creed on a yearly basis. What was once a fresh and innovative IP, full of creative possibilities, inevitably became stale under the weight of forced new installments.
Ultimately, the publisher buckled under the pressure of fans request and market trend alike, choosing not to release a new Assassin’s Creed mainline game this year. Amidst a huge Polygon feature article on the future of Ubisoft, Game Director Benoit Lambert expanded on the topic:
We want to take the time to develop a great game. Since the first Assassin’s Creed we have developed the knowledge on how to craft an open world game and we worked very hard to understand what it means and implies. This was challenging but thrilling.

Today, our development teams are eagerly looking towards the future as we have the ambition and desire to fully challenge ourselves about what it will be to actually play an open-world game in the years to come. We want players to feel that their experience of playing Assassin’s Creed feels unique and meaningful.
We actively participated in defining what playing an open world game actually means, but we are working hard to continue to push our technologies and ideas further.
That’s certainly the proposition we were all hoping for, though of course we’ll have to wait and see what the development team manages to achieve with this extra time. Chances are the next Assassin’s Creed will be set in Egypt, according to early rumors, and released in 2017; even so, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the series may not necessarily go back to the annual cycle afterwards.
Let’s hope so, as that would certainly translate into more time for the developers to create those unique and meaningful experiences cited by Benoit Lambert.

Assassin's Creed - Syndicate: tested with 23 graphics cards

    Introduction

Back in November Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed: Syndicate for the PC, the newest game in the long-running series. The game is developed by Ubisoft Quebec, one of the in-house developers of the publisher, and takes place in London during the late nineteenth century. We tested this game with 23 graphics cards at Full HD, WQHD and Ultra HD.
The London of 1868 has been taken over by the Templar Order and you play as the Frye twins, who are trying to end the Templar's reign at the request of certain people. They do this by killing assigned targets, as usual with these series.
The previous Assassin's Creed in the main series were all developed by Ubisoft Montreal, sometimes in collaboration with other development studios. Syndicate is the first game in the series developed by Ubisoft Quebec.

Syndicate utilizes the same engine as its predecessor, the fourth generation of Ubisoft's own Anvil engine: AnvilNext 2.0. Anvil has already been in use since the first Assassin's Creed game released back in 2007, but it has received significant upgrades throughout the years. Unity had very good graphics, but Syndicate adds even more eye candy, as you can see on the second page. Syndicate resembles The Order: 1886, a console exclusive which impressed because of its pretty effects, in regards to atmosphere and graphics.
Syndicate has a metascore of 7.5 and a userscore of 5.7 on Metacritic. However in general steam users are satisfied with the game: 79% of the reviews is positive about the game. The main reason for this seems to be the fact that Syndicate, in contrast to Unity, is pretty much free of any game-breaking bugs.

    Standard vs gold edition
