    iOS 9 Release Date Has Been Officially Revealed

    Apple has officially revealed the release date of iOS 9, while also re-introducing to the world the goodness its brand spanking new mobile operating system for mobile devices brings.

    According to Apple, the final build of iOS 9 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch will be available to download on the 16th of September. In other words, if you’re not a developer and have been looking forward to try iOS 9 in its most polished state yet, then save that date in your calendar right away.
    Apple has tossed in a lot of hard work to make sure its mobile operating system is absolutely bug free and performance rich, as it extended its beta testing program to non-developers using the Beta Software Program. Cupertino used said program to collect as much feedback as possible from users to iron out as many bugs they could. And having used iOS 9 since the first beta came out right after the opening WWDC 2015 keynote, it’s safe to say that Apple’s latest mobile operating system has definitely picked up polish quicker than previous releases of iOS, such as iOS 7 and 8 from last year.
    For the end user, Apple has implemented a lot of great new features, such as a proactive assistant, a brand new Siri UI and a lot more. But the real fun begins if you’re in the ownership of an iPad, where iOS 9 really shows its magic in the multitasking arena. Cupertino’s new mobile OS supports side by side, slide-in and picture-in-picture multitasking, allowing users to stay on top of their productivity game without having to jump between numerous apps.

    iOS 9 will be a free download, as ever, and is available to pretty much every device in the market – old and new. That includes the iPad 2 up till the iPad Air 2, as well as the original iPad mini all the way to the iPad mini 3. On the iPhone end, iOS 9 supports the iPhone 4s all the way up to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. With such a massive list of supported devices, topped off with a smaller installation footprint, Apple truly wants everyone to download and adopt its latest and great mobile OS for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
    Apart from the release date, Apple has also announced new pricing structure for its iCloud storage, and the new ones are as follows:

    Will you be downloading iOS 9 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below. And also let us know which feature in iOS 9 is your favorite. Comment away!

    iOS 9 GM Download For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch Released

    iOS 9 Golden Master candidate build for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is now available to download for those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.

    iOS 9 Is No More A Beta Software

    Originally announced at WWDC 2015, iOS 9 is Apple’s next-gen operating system for its mobile range of devices. At today’s ‘Hey Siri, give us a hint’ event, Apple made a quick run-through of all the features that were announced back in June, but today’s keynote also sees the revelation of the release of the GM build for those who are enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.
    The GM build of iOS 9 is essentially the final iteration which will be released to end users a week later from now, but today’s release is meant for developers for testing purposes so that all the bugs and kinks are ironed out before it hits the consumer channel. Keep one thing in mind though, if Apple finds any show stopping bugs in today’s release then it will likely push out iOS 9 GM 2 build in a swift manner. If that doesn’t prove to be the case, then today’s release will end up being in the cradles of millions of iOS device users around the world.

    As we mentioned before, the iOS 9 GM build is meant for developers only and can be grabbed directly from the Apple Developer Program website. If you’re not enrolled in the program, then you can do so by parting with $99 on an annual basis, which will grant you access to every pre-release software bit from the Cupertino tech giant. It’s a worthwhile investment if you consider yourself a diehard Apple fan. Lastly, you cannot update to a GM build from a beta, so you have to install fresh using iTunes.
    Simply open the Apple Developer Program website, click on the ‘Resources’ tab at the top, then click on ‘iOS 9.’ Here you’ll see all the bits that are currently available for Apple’s mobile software, in this case, iOS 9 GM. As we mentioned above, you need to be registered developer in order to download it. And if you’re going to part with $99 just to grab iOS 9 GM, then we’ll advise strongly against it, as the final build will be available within a week’s time. But still, your call.

    iOS 9 is a giant leap in terms of features, and even a bigger release for those who are in the ownership of Apple’s iPad, as it brings new multitasking features to Cupertino’s tablet. From a proactive assistant to a brand new system font and smaller installation footprint, iOS 9 is a must-have upgrade if you’re currently sitting on iOS 8 or iOS 7 on your mobile device.
    If you do happen to download and install iOS 9 GM on your device, then be sure to let us know about your experience on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch by dropping us a comment below.

    How To Download And Install iOS 9 GM On iPhone, iPad, iPod touch Right Now

    Want to download and install iOS 9 GM on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch? Then we’ll walk you through the entire procedure with a complete step by step guide.

    Before you begin, make sure you backup everything either to iTunes or iCloud. On your iOS device navigate to Settings > iCloud > Backup and move the iCloud Backup button to the ON position and then tap on ‘Back Up Now.’
    All set? Let’s begin!
    Install iOS 9 GM On iPhone, iPad, iPod touch Right Away

    1. Fist and foremost, head over to the Apple Developer Program website here and register yourself as a developer. Click on the ‘Enroll’ button at the top right hand corner then click on ‘Start your enrollment’ button at the bottom of the next page. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the registration process. Also make sure you register your device on which you’ll be installing iOS 9 GM on with Apple. If you’re already a member of the Apple Developer Program, then simply sign in with your existing account.
    The steps for registering your device with Apple are as follows:

    2. Once signed into the Apple Developer Program website, click on the ‘Resources’ button at the top of the website.

    3. Since you’re downloading iOS 9 GM for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, hence click on the ‘iOS’ button under ‘Platforms and Tools’ as shown in the screenshot below.

    4. Now click on the blue ‘Download’ button on the top right hand corner, then download the iOS 9 GM firmware file tailored for your device. Make sure you get this right otherwise you won’t be able to install it onto your device.

    Note: The download process can take between a few minutes to up to an hour or more depending on your Internet connection speed. Be patient while the download is in progress.
    5. Now download and install the latest version of iTunes on your PC or Mac. If you don’t have iTunes installed already then simply navigate to: apple.com/itunes in order to download it.
    6. Launch iTunes and connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable.
    7. Select your iOS device from the top left hand corner of the iTunes window.

    8. Hold down the left ‘Shift’ key if you’re on a Windows PC, or the left ‘Option’ key if you’re on a Mac and then click on the ‘Restore iPhone’ button.

    9. iTunes will now ask you to point it towards an IPSW file. Select the iOS 9 GM firmware file you downloaded a while back.
    iTunes will verify the firmware file from Apple’s servers, and after a few seconds, the flashing process will begin. The entire process can take up to a few minutes depending on the device you might have. Once done, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will boot straight into iOS 9 GM, all set to be used normally.
    Set up your device as you normally would and you’re good to go.

    iOS 9.1 Beta 1 For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch Released To Developers

    Apple has seeded beta 1 of iOS 9.1 for compatible devices. This is a pre-release build and is available to registered Apple devs only.

    Apple officially announced that iOS 9 will be hitting our devices on the 16th of September, with today seeing the Golden Master release of Cupertino’s latest and greatest mobile firmware for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch hitting developer channels. While iOS 9 is still a few days away from public release, Apple has seeded the fist ever iOS 9.1 beta build to developers, further cementing the fact that Cupertino is rapidly working to enhance its mobile OS.
    At this point in time, it’s unclear what iOS 9.1 beta brings with it, but a wild guess suggests that the release is mainly tailored for the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and apart from that, brings small changes to other devices as well. Given the release date of iOS 9 set for just a few days away from now, it’s likely that iOS 9.1 will stick to the beta tag for quite a while before it makes it to the public domain.

    If you’re a developer and want to give iOS 9.1 beta 1 a shot on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, then you can do so by heading over to the Apple Developer Program website and grabbing the pre-release bits for your device from there. And in case you’re wondering, yes, the Apple Developer Program requires a user to stump out an annual fee of $99 in order to gain access to beta software. But for a one off fee of just a hundred bucks, you get to play with pre-release software before anyone else. Besides, if you’re an Apple fan, an Apple Developer Program membership makes sense to boost your fanboy credentials, doesn’t it?

    While we don’t know much about iOS 9.1, iOS 9 however, is a big upgrade in terms of the features it brings to the table. For instance, for iPad users, there’s split screen, slide-in and picture-in-picture multitasking, something that makes sure that your productivity remains at the highest level necessary. Apart from that Apple has tossed in a proactive assistant, which throws suggestions and initiates actions based on the time of day. And of course, there are a ton of bug fixes and performance enhancements thrown into the mix as well, which make up for a very, very hefty upgrade over iOS 8.
    We’ll keep a close eye on what iOS 9.1 brings to the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Till then, sit back, relax, and go on a never ending wait for iOS 9’s release date.

    Downgrade iOS 9 GM To iOS 8.4.1 On iPhone, iPad, IPod touch – How To

    Here’s how you can downgrade iOS 9 GM to iOS 8.4.1 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch in a few and easy to understand steps.

    iOS 9 GM has been released by Apple and is available to download to many developers around the world, including fans who have signed up to the Apple Developer Program to gain access to software bits before anyone else. But quite frankly, new software is not everyone’s cup of tea for one reason or the other, and if you think that you’ve made a mistake updating to iOS 9 GM then you can downgrade back to iOS 8.4.1 right away in a few easy to understand steps.
    Let’s dive right into it!
    Downgrade iOS 9 GM To iOS 8.4.1

    1. Download the iOS 8.4.1 IPSW relevant to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your PC or Mac. Make sure you download the correct one otherwise the downgrade process will simply fail.
    2. With the iOS 8.4.1 final IPSW downloaded onto your PC or Mac, launch iTunes with your iOS device connected to your computer via USB.
    3. Select your device from the top left hand corner in iTunes.

    4. Now click on the ‘Restore iPhone’ button while holding down the left ‘Option’ key if you’re on a Mac, or the left ‘Shift’ key if you’re on a Windows PC. A new pop-up window will open asking you to point it to an IPSW firmware file.

    5. Select the iOS 8.4.1 IPSW you downloaded in step 1. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet at this point, otherwise iTunes won’t be able to authorize the firmware file.
    6. iTunes will work its magic and after a few minutes (which can take a while as well) you’ll boot straight into iOS 8.4.1. Simply set up your device as you normally would and start using it.
    That’s it, you’re done.
    iOS 9 is a huge upgrade, and today saw the release of the Golden Master candidate build, which is essentially the final release that is seeded to developers a week before the global consumer rollout. But as we said before, new firmware releases aren’t exactly something which everyone wants and we all have our reasons to stick with legacy software, mainly due to the reason of jailbreaking.
    Speaking of jailbreaking, progress is being made on iOS 8.4.1, and it was just recently Pangu demoed a jailbreak on an iPhone 6. A release could happen in due course.
    Did you stick with iOS 9 GM or did you downgrade to iOS 8.4.1? Do let us know in the comments section below.

    iOS 9 Has Been Jailbroken! (Video)

    Big news for everyone, as an iOS 9 jailbreak has just been demoed on video. iOS 9 final is set for release on the 16th of September.

    The video of the jailbreak comes from reputable hacker and developer iH8sn0w, and he performs the long-awaited feat on an iPhone 5 smartphone. Rather than diving into the details all of a sudden, check out the video below directly yourselves:

    As you can see from the video, iOS 9 boots up with a custom boot logo, apart from that code injection is also displayed as well as Cydia.
    According to iH8sn0w:
    Worth noting, iOS 9+ arm64 iDevices now enforce a checksum on __TEXT/DATA.const regions of the kernel through the use of TrustZone. Modifying said sections will cause the device to panic (either at kernel or EL3 will force a reboot if the kernel refused to gracefully panic). Essentially, it’s KPP (Kernel Patch Protection). You can race it though if you want to play with things. Just be quick! ;P

    Also, there should technically now be two additional partitions (baseband_data [s1s3] and logs [s1s4]) but didn’t really bother with those as they weren’t critical.
    In case you’re wondering, the jailbreak was achieved on the iOS 9 GM build, further adding weight to the fact that there’s a possibility that the final version of Cupertino’s mobile firmware will be jailbreakable as well. And given how things stand on iOS 8.4.1, which saw Apple patching all the exploits that were needed by TaiG in order to work, today’s video is a huge breakthrough for those who are die-hard fans of jailbreaking.
    Most people are usually interested in the jailbreak itself rather than a video that shows it off. And given the early state of the iOS 9 jailbreak, we have no word whether this would be ever released or not, or this is just a work in progress which would eventually lead up to the real deal. At this point, we can’t comment on that.
    While Apple has been hard at work making the lives of jailbreakers as miserable as possible by patching all the loopholes, the Pangu team on the other hand, has been making strides on its own, and was the first one ever to show off an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak on iPhone 6. Furthermore, it was just a few days back the team even showcased all the kernel vulnerabilities that were required to perform the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak as well. Pangu team however, also revealed that said kernel vulnerabilities had been patched in the fifth beta of iOS 9, but if the above video is anything to go by, then it’s a clear sign that the jailbreak community will keep on thriving now matter how many spanners Apple keeps on tossing into the machine.
    What do you think about today’s news? Are you excited about an iOS 9 jailbreak?
    On iOS 8.4 or below?
    If you’re a Windows user, then check out our guide posted here for complete details. Alternatively, if TaiG is not your cup of tea then you can try its alternative PP to achieve the same thing. You can follow our complete guide posted here on how to use the PP jailbreak tool to liberate iOS 8.4.

    iOS 9.1 Public Beta Now Available, Here’s How To Download It Right Now

    iOS 9.1 Public Beta download is now available to non-developers for free and you can install it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch right now. And we’ll show you how you can do just that.

    Yesterday Apple flipped the switch and released iOS 9 GM download to developers, with the final build being stated for a 16th September release. Furthermore, Apple seeded the first beta iOS 9.1 to those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program yesterday. iOS 9.1 is meant for the larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro which was announced at Cupertino’s ‘Hey Siri’ event and the new firmware is also supported on iPhone and iPod touch as well.
    Today, Apple has seeded iOS 9.1 Public Beta to testers, and without further ado, we’ll show you how you can grab Cupertino’s latest mobile firmware and install it on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch right away.
    iOS 9.1 Public Beta Compatibility

    iOS 9.1 Public Beta is supported on pretty much all iOS devices, and for the sake of your convenience, here’s the complete list:

    • iPhone 4s
    • iPhone 5
    • iPhone 5s
    • iPhone 5c
    • iPhone 6
    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPad mini
    • iPad mini 2
    • iPad mini 3
    • iPad 2
    • iPad 3
    • iPad 4
    • iPad Air
    • iPad Air 2

    We haven’t counted in the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro and the iPad mini 4 in the list since the aforementioned devices haven’t hit retail channels just yet.
    Download And Install iOS 9.1 Public Beta

    1. Open beta.apple.com in your iOS device’s Web browser and sign up for the Beta Software Program using your Apple ID. If you already have an account then just sign in.

    2. Now at the top of the Apple Beta Software Program website you should see a tab labelled ‘Enroll Your Devices.’ Tap on that.

    3. At this point it’s advised that if you’re going to install iOS 9.1 Public Beta on your device, then be sure to take a complete backup of your gadget in case something goes wrong. You can either use iTunes or iCloud.

    4. Scroll down in the ‘Enroll Your Devices’ page, or open beta.apple.com/profile using Safari and download the configuration profile.

    5. Authorize the configuration profile for installation and follow the on-screen steps till you’re asked to reboot your device.
    6. Once rebooted, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update, and over here you’ll see iOS 9.1 Public Beta waiting for your download and installation approval.

    7. The download may take a while depending on your Internet’s speed, so be patient. In the end, your device will restart and you’ll boot straight into iOS 9.1 Public Beta.
    It’s likely that the final version of iOS 9.1 will start rolling out to users when the iPad Pro hits retail channels.

    iOS 9 GM Features ‘Hey Siri’ Voice Training – Screenshots

    iOS 9 GM was seeded to those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program soon after the big ‘Hey Siri’ event. The build is essentially the final shipping release that will be available on the 16th of September, and comes with a lot of refinements over the previous betas. And today we’re seeing a new addition in the GM build which wasn’t present before in any iOS 9 beta – ‘Hey Siri’ voice training.

    If you’re on a pre-iOS 9 build of Apple’s mobile firmware, then navigating to Settings > General > Siri and turning on the ‘Hey Siri’ switch will toggle the feature without any sort of prompt whatsoever. But in iOS 9 GM, if you happen to toggle the ‘Hey Siri’ switch to the ON position, you’ll be required to train your iOS device to recognize your voice even better for the ‘Hey Siri’ hotword when connected to a power source. Keep in mind that ‘Hey Siri’ works on an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus without requiring to be plugged into a power outlet, as Apple’s new hardware is more than capable enough for the feature to always remain on.
    The ‘Hey Siri’ training is fairly obvious from the face of things, and you are required to say things like ‘Hey Siri’ and ‘Hey Siri, how’s the weather today?’ until your iOS device can recognize it perfectly, subsequently helping it to understand you better in the future.
    Here’s what the new ‘Hey Siri’ voice training looks like:

    As we mentioned above, the final build of iOS 9 will be rolled out to all compatible devices on the 16th of September. And a few days after iOS 9 has been rolled out, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will start shipping out to those who pre-ordered the device, more specifically, on the 25th.
    There are a lot of changes in iOS 9 that make up for a massive upgrade, and with iOS 9 and iPhone 6s, Apple is pushing the boundaries even further of what a smartphone can be capable of doing, all thanks to the new flagships’ 3D Touch display and other underlying hardware.
    We’ll bring to our readers more news and updates regarding iOS 9 in the days to come, so be sure to stay tuned to our coverage.
    Meanwhile, do let us know in the comments section below what our readers think about this new ‘Hey Siri’ voice training feature in iOS 9.

    Não pretendendo criar guerras, mas alguém me explica porque razão ainda se compram tantos iPhones?

    - Tanto quanto sei não dão para ser utilizados como pen (ao contrário de Android que é só ligar ao PC e já está);
    - Passar filmes para lá é um inferno. É preciso converter, etc etc (mais uma vez ao contrário de Android que é só mandar para lá, com o ficheiro .srt ejá está)...
    - Bateria fraquinha em praticamente todos os modelos;
    - Hiper mega carissimos;
    - Jailbreaks e afins...
    - Sistema fechado;

    Se à 4 ou 5 anos atrás o sistema android era lento, cheio de bugs, etc.. hoje em dia temos telemóveis que são verdadeiras bestas, mais baratos, boas camaras, porrada de escolha de modelos, etc etc...

    Não quero criar guerras, mas gostava de perceber com quem usa iPhone, o porquê.

    É que atualmente com o que existe no mercado, não vejo vantagens mesmo nenhumas.

    - Passar filmes para lá é um inferno. É preciso converter, etc etc (mais uma vez ao contrário de Android que é só mandar para lá, com o ficheiro .srt ejá está)...
    - Bateria fraquinha em praticamente todos os modelos;
    - Hiper mega carissimos;
    - Jailbreaks e afins...
    - Sistema fechado;

    Se à 4 ou 5 anos atrás o sistema android era lento, cheio de bugs, etc.. hoje em dia temos telemóveis que são verdadeiras bestas, mais baratos, boas camaras, porrada de escolha de modelos, etc etc...

    Não quero criar guerras, mas gostava de perceber com quem usa iPhone, o porquê.

    É que atualmente com o que existe no mercado, não vejo vantagens mesmo nenhumas.
    Vou te responder muito resumidamente Nirvana, é moda ter um iphone ponto.
    Claro que não é TODA a gente, à pessoal que tem porque gosta.

    Isso é verdade agora, antes não era bem assim.

    O iOS sempre foi mais fluído. Mas isso há coisa de 2 anos mudou (desde o aparecimento do SnapDragon 800). Agora acho-os equiparáveis em termos de velocidade.

    Eu realmente acredito que neste momento seja mesmo uma questão de moda, pois não percebo como é que há malucos que gastaram 900 euros num iPhone 6 Plus à 1 ano e agora andam a despachá-los ao desbarato só para ir buscar um iPhone 6S deve dar exatamente a mesma experiência... tirando a câmara.

    Bom, mas não quero criar guerras.

    Tenho apenas realmente curiosidade em saber quem tem iPhone, o que vê de tão superior em relação aos outros.

    Eu tenho um Lg g2 e não acho que lhe falte nada, mentira a única coisa que acho que lhe falte era o botão que fosse de impressão digital. De resto acho o ótimo meto o tele ao lado de um 5s e faz tudo igual se não melhor. Mas a moda o momento ja se sabe as gajas tira fotos em frente ao espalho amostrando o iphone.
