OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan Final Update Released, Here’s What Is New

Mac OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan final update has been released and is now available to download. Download instructions and changelog can be found right here.

Apple Releases OS X 10.11.3 With Multiple Bug Fixes

OS X 10.11.3 is now available. You can download the update by heading to the Mac App Store and click on the Updates tab. You will be prompted for the update. Click on it and the update process will start.
The first OS X 10.11.3 developer beta was released in December. Earlier this month, we received an OS X 10.11.2 while the second OS X 10.11.3 developer beta was revealed in the beginning of this month. For now it’s here, Apple has further started testing OS X 10.11.4. The beta versions of OS X 10.11.4 will be released in the near future. Just like the current OS X 10.11.3, OS X 10.11.4 will be focused on improving overall performance and eliminating bugs instead of introducing new features in the update. Probably, we will see a spring debut for OS X 10.11.4 alongside the company’s mobile operating system update to iOS 9.3.
As the OS X update version suggests, it does not bring any major changes contributing with features or major enhancements. The current release focuses on performance improvements and several bug fixes. The bug fixes and performance improvements contribute to a minor performance jerk in the OS X 10.11.3. Henceforth, don’t expect any groundbreaking features for the update.

In the beta testing phase, no major improvements were noticed in the update except for bug fixes and performance enhancements. However, Apple’s release notes mention unspecific security updates and bug fixes.
The OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 update improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.
This update contains bug fixes and security updates.
Just to be on the safe side, make sure you keep your Mac OS X updated for better performance. For starters, the update not only enhances performance but eliminates major bugs that might be causing a nuisance. Moreover, an outdated Mac OS X might become sluggish in terms of app opening time and more. Henceforth, it is advised to update Mac OS X as soon as it arrives.
For more updates on the release, we will definitely keep you posted. This is it for now, folks. Make sure to let us know about any changes you might see in the upgrade. Have you downloaded the OS X 10.11.3 update yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

OS X 10.11.4 Public Beta 2 Now Available To Download

The second Public Beta of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan is also available for download along with iOS 9.3 Public Beta 2.

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta 2 Has Arrived. Update Your Mac Today!

Along with iOS 9.3 beta 2 which was released a couple of days back, Apple also saw it fit to release the second developer preview build of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan at that time. But today, Apple is bringing the developer-centric changes which it released a couple of days back to Public Beta testers as well, with the new OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta 2 now available to download immediately.
If you have the first Public Beta of OS X 10.11.4 installed on your Mac, then simply launch the Mac App Store and click on the ‘Updates’ tab. Here you’ll see the update ready for your download and installation approval. You’ll be required to restart your Mac therefore be sure to save all your work before making the plunge.
As we mentioned before, today’s Public Beta 2 release of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan features the same changes that were pushed out to developers a couple of days back through Apple’s developer portal. In other words, users can expect to see the same feature additions, such as the ability to see Live Photos in the Messages app, the usual bug fixes, as well as speed and performance improvements.

It’s absolutely wonderful to see that Apple is working day and night to make sure that its software across the board (desktop and mobile both) is ticking along nicely as well as being kept up to date in terms of features. This is a trend which Apple kicked off last year along with the release of iOS 9 by releasing updates and fixes on a timely basis, while also staying ahead of the game by issuing beta software to developer and public testers regularly.
At this point in time it’s unclear when the final version of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan will drop for the general public. But if past release cycles are anything to go by then it’s highly likely that we’ll see a couple of betas more at max before the final build hits download channels.
Developers and public beta testers both are requested to update their Macs straight away, as new updates tend to fix a lot of bugs that have been plaguing users in the prior release. Besides, you want your Mac to run as smoothly as possible under any circumstance right?
If you haven’t installed OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta onto your Mac, then you can do so for free by pointing your browser to beta.apple.com and follow the steps outlined there.

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta 3 Released

You can now download OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta 3 on your Mac directly from the Mac App Store.

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Is inching Closer Towards Final Release

Alongside iOS 9.3 Public Beta 3, Apple has also released OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta 3 for Mac users. It features the same awesome features as prior builds, but of course, this new release packs in a lot of bug fixes and performance enhancements. That’s what the changelog currently notes at least. But there is a chance Apple might’ve slipped something new in this pre-release build which is just waiting to be discovered. If that’s the case then we will definitely highlight it here, so stay tuned.
If you have a previous build of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan Public Beta installed on your Mac then you can grab the third pre-release software directly from the Mac App Store. Simply connect to a stable WiFi network, launch the Mac App Store and then click on the Updates tab at the top. After a few seconds the third Public Beta build will present itself, all set to be downloaded. Save all your work and click on the ‘Update’ button at the right to begin the download and installation process.
    Advertisements

If you wish to give OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan beta a shot on your Mac, then you’ll be pleased to learn that Public Beta software doesn’t cost a dime to install. All you have to do is head over to beta.apple.com, enroll your Mac in Apple’s Beta Software Program, and simply download the new OS X desktop release directly from the Mac App Store. It really doesn’t get any more easier than this.
We also recommend installing beta software on devices that aren’t your daily drivers, so that things don’t hit a roadblock for users in day to day use. But given how stable OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan beta is currently, it’s safe to say that you won’t run into any sort of problem.
OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan features a bunch of new additions, such as the ability to view Live Photos in the Messages app, as well as something which many have been waiting for in the Notes app – importing notes from Evernote to OS X’s Notes app.
We’re certain Apple will drop at least one more beta before we see a final build hit download channels. Till then, we urge users enrolled in Cupertino’s Beta Software Program to update away from the Mac App Store.

    OS X 10.11.4 Beta 4, tvOS 9.2 Beta 4, watchOS 2.2 Beta 4 Released

OS X 10.11.4 beta 4, tvOS 9.2 beta 4 and watchOS 2.2 beta 4 has been released for registered developers.

Apple Releases The Fourth Beta Of Its Entire Software Lineup

Apart from iOS 9.3 beta 4 that was released a few minutes back, Apple also released the fourth beta builds of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan, tvOS 9.2, and of course, watchOS 2.2. All the pre-release builds are meant to fix lingering bugs and enhance performance while being developer-oriented at the same time.
If you have a previous build of OS X 10.11.4 beta installed onto your Mac, then upgrading to beta 4 is a very easy process. Launch the Mac App Store from the Launchpad, click on the ‘Updates’ tab at the top and install away. Be sure to save your work and everything else as the completion of the update requires you to restart your Mac.

tvOS 9.2 beta 4 is easy to install onto your Apple TV 4 as well, and all it takes for you to power on your device, go to Settings > System > Software Update and then selecting ‘Update Software.’ The download and installation process won’t take that long, and we highly advise that you make sure ahead of installation that you have a stable Internet connection and the power source is secure.
    Advertisements

Lastly, watchOS 2.2 beat 4 is also available as an over the air update, so simply leave your Apple Watch on charge, launch the Watch app on your iPhone, navigate to General > Software Update to grab the fourth beta of Cupertino’s latest wearable software. The installation process takes quite a while to complete so do not panic when things are in motion.

While watchOS 2.2 for Apple Watch might not be a big update to have, but tvOS 9.2 and OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan give us a clear sign where Apple wishes to take its TV and desktop platforms, respectively. It also gives us a clear glimpse that the Cupertino company is planning to evolve its software from here on in rather than giving it a strict makeover, something which we totally believe is the right thing to do at this point.
We highly recommend that users go ahead and update their devices right now to make sure that things are working out nicely for them. If you’re a software developer, to be precise, then we can’t empathize more on the fact why you should update.
Since all pre-release builds that we mentioned above are available for registered developers only, therefore do keep in mind that general users can’t get their hands on the pre-release bits, until or unless they have an Apple Developer Program membership under their belt.

Enable Force Touch Actions On Non-Supported Mac Models

Here’s how you can enable Force Touch actions on non-supported Mac models in a few easy steps.

It’s a clear sign at this point that Force Touch is the way to go in Apple’s playbook with all recent devices (desktop and mobile both) implementing the feature one way or the other. But today, we’ll keep our focus on Mac models that don’t have Force Touch out of the box, and enabling the feature on them is quite easy, and it does not involve tinkering around with hardware either as everything happens on the software side of things, or more specifically, the latest version of OS X El Capitan.
Before we begin, it should be made clear at this point that this is just a half-baked experience to get key Force Touch actions onto your Mac, such as previewing links, getting meanings for words, previewing calendar entries etc. It will not work in places such as QuickTime where you can deep press on the trackpad to speed up video or slow it back down. Keep on reading and you’ll know what we’re talking about.
Force Touch Actions On Older Macs That Don’t Have Force Touch? Wish Granted.

Make sure you have the latest version of OS X El Capitan installed onto your Mac. Launch the Mac App Store, click on the ‘Updates’ tab and install any OS X related updates that might be waiting for approval.
    1. Launch System Preferences and then select ‘Trackpad.’
    2. Enable the first option under the ‘Point & Click’ tab labelled ‘Look up & data detectors.’
    Advertisements

    3. Launch Safari, Messages or any app at all where there’s a Web link or any link in general. Simply tap on that link with three fingers on the trackpad and you’ll see a preview pop right up. But that’s not all, it works for calendar entries, and even words if you want to find their meaning without much effort.

You have to admit that this is a very awesome addition in OS X El Capitan that happened to slip under the radar for a lot of people. If you knew this existed, then double thumbs up for you, but if you didn’t, and don’t happen to have a Force Touch ready Mac with you, then this is the tip that will help you go a long way.
If you want the real deal Force Touch capabilities on your Mac, then you should either invest in the new Magic Trackpad 2 or get yourself one of the new MacBook Pro models or 12-inch Retina MacBook.

OS X 10.12 ‘Fuji’ To Feature Siri, Releasing Later This Year

Apple’s upcoming version of OS X – 10.12 codenamed ‘Fuji’ – will come packed with Siri as a ‘tentpole’ feature.

Siri Will Finally Land On The Mac With The Release Of OS X 10.12 Codenamed ‘Fuji’

The details on Siri making its way to OS X 10.12 have been revealed by 9to5Mac, and according to their sources, Siri will be a part of the operating system which is due to be first demoed this June at WWDC 2015, and will be released publicly later this year. The publication also revealed that Siri will live in the Mac menu bar and can be invoked using a simple click.
The report goes on to state that the first boot of OS X 10.12 will feature a dedicated panel in which users will be able to enable Siri. And yes, in case you’re wondering, ‘Hey Siri’ will be a part of the entire deal, but will only work when your Mac is plugged into a power outlet. We’re quite certain that future Mac hardware will take down this limitation as well, bringing truly untethered Siri to the masses. But till that happens, we will have a plugged-in experience to nom on.
Apart from ‘clicking’ on the menu bar to invoke Siri, users will be able to program keys on the keyboard to invoke the voice assistant as well, something which will come in handy if you’re working at a lightning pace.
    Advertisements

Lastly, the Siri UI will be minimal, and will live on the top right hand corner of the display when invoked. Take a look at the mockup below to find out what we’re talking about:

Siri for Mac has been under testing since 2012 and it is now being reported that Apple has finally polished the assistant enough to place it onto our Mac’s display. It will also be interesting to see how much deep integration the assistant will have on a desktop level compared to iOS, Apple Watch and tvOS. After all, it’s quite possible that Apple will not completely unleash the power of Siri on first go, and we might have to go through several OS X revisions before things are completely sealed off and ready for take off.
We will definitely get more details on the matter as we move into the future, so stay tuned to our coverage. And also let us know in the comments section below what you think about Siri making its way to the Mac.

Apple to bring Siri to Mac this year

After years of speculation on the topic, it looks like Apple will finally be bringing Siri to Mac OS X this year according to new reports. Right now it is believed that this year’s OS X update is codenamed ‘Fuji’ and Siri will be one of the big flagship features.
The initial report comes from 9to5Mac, which says that Apple has been internally testing Siri on OS X since as far back as 2012 but is only just getting around to implementing it publicly.

OS X 10.12 is expected to be announced at the World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June. Instead of placing Siri in a swipe menu like the notification center, or even as a full-screen app like on iOS, Siri on the Mac will live on the menu bar alongside the date, time etc.
When a user clicks on the Siri button, a transparent interface will appear in the top right corner of the screen with sound waves displaying. The ‘Hey Siri’ command will work and the digital assistant will work largely in the same way it has on iOS for years.

iOS 10 And OS X 10.12 To Get New Photos App With iPhoto Features

iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 will get some serious updates when released, with the Photos app bound to feature a bunch of enhancements.

iOS 10 And OS X 10.12 Photos App Will Bring iPhoto Features To Mobile Devices And Desktop

The iOS and OS X Photos app has proved to be a major milestone in the right direction, allowing users to give their snaps a permanent home while also bringing to the table necessary editing tools to get things done. But if you compare the Photos app to, say, a third-party offering, then you’ll come to realize that Apple’s experience is somewhat crippled in a lot of regards, and it could do with a little work to enhance things.
Luckily for us though, it seems all of that mundane experience could eventually change with the release of iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 this year, with a new report from Mac Otakara suggesting that the Photos app will grace a bunch of new features from Apple’s now-discontinued iPhoto app for both iOS and OS X.

    Advertisements

Compared to iPhoto, the Photos app is quite powerful in its own regard. But on mobile, iPhoto was an extremely powerful little offering that had a ton of features under the hood, allowing users to enhance their photos in a bunch of great ways. And if those features are anything to go by, then it seems Photos app in iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 is bound to get some serious upgrades.
Keep in mind that it’s unknown at this point in time exactly what type of upgrades iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 Photos app will gain. And it’s also worth noting that users shouldn’t expect Aperture like upgrades either. After all, the Cupertino doesn’t want to start putting nails in its pro software in favor of something free.
Details regarding features of iOS 10 are unknown at this point in time, but a recent report suggested that OS X 10.12 on the other hand will finally bring Siri to the masses when released. While it remains to be seen how useful Cupertino’s personal assistant will be on a desktop level, it’s the overall enhancements that we are most interested in, such as what features Apple will bring to the table on top of what’s already there in El Capitan.
We’re sure more details regarding iOS 10 and OS X 10.12 will pop up as we move towards WWDC 2016. Till then, we’ll make do with the leaks and other bits of information.

Apple’s design genii make a click of themselves

OS X El Capitan page not for dirty minds

The design genii at Apple scored an own goal with the website’s CSS code to prevent people misreading the tagline for its latest operating system, OS X El Capitan.

The line should say, "There’s more to love with every click", but to the wonders of Apple’s strict corporate logo design the c and the l looked a little blended.
These many fanboys were shocked to read that “there was more to love than dick.” Given that Apple fanboys can’t get their hands on anything else it must have been a little disappointing.
Apple has changed the letter spacing, so there’s no chance of accidentally seeing the word "dick" when glancing at the slogan, although there is no guarantee that an Apple fanboy will not see one when they look in the mirror.
What is a little surprising is that given the amount of money spend on Apple’s corporate image, as opposed to investing in research and development, this howler was not spotted a long time ago and there would have been a few more cock-ups noticed by now.

New Microsoft ads highlight what Windows 10 can do that OS X can't

Microsoft's takes the opportunity to make digs at Apple in its new Windows 10 ads. Featuring "the bug chicks" (two women who teach kids about bugs for a living), they praise functionality like touchscreen drawing and Cortana, then say things like, "Even on the new Macs they don't have that."

Also, real bugs are shown. In other words, if you're an Apple fan with a fear of bugs, these ads will make you simultaneously angry and terrified.

Download: OS X 10.11.4 Beta And Public Beta 5 Released

Apple has released OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan beta 5 and Public Beta 5. The download comes in exactly a week after the fourth beta and Public Beta of OS X 10.11.4 were released.

Apple Releases Fifth Beta And Public Beta Of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan has been in pre-release status for quite a while, and having dropped the fifth developer and public oriented betas a while back, Apple has given a clear signal to everyone out there that the company is not resting in the background and is indeed working hard to refine its desktop operating system.
Given the fact that this pre-release build arrives exactly a week after the fourth beta download was released, it’s highly likely that today’s software aims to squash bugs which Apple might’ve encountered during its testing phases.
If you’re a developer or a Public Beta tester, then you can update your Mac right away, provided that you have prior beta of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan installed onto your Mac in the first place. If that’s not the case, then registered developers can grab the pre-release bits from the Apple Developer Program website, whereas Public Beta testers can point their Web browser to beta.apple.com for the download.
    Advertisements

Assuming that you have a prior beta of OS X 10.11.4 installed onto your Mac, simply connect to WiFi or Ethernet with Internet access, launch the Mac App Store, click on the Updates tab and download the latest El Capitan pre-release build. The download can take quite a bit depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the age of your Mac, so exercise patience when everything is in progress. Also be sure to save all your work beforehand as the completion process requires you to restart your Mac, something which you cannot bypass.

OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan features quite a bit of changes compared to the current OS X 10.11.3 final release. For instance, the new desktop software allows users to view Live Photos taken using an iPhone 6s directly from the Messages app, something which wasn’t possible before. Furthermore, the build allows you to password protect the notes you’ve saved in the Notes app. Also, the Notes app allows users to import all of their notes from Evernote, if they so wish.
It’s likely that the final build of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan will land in the next couple of weeks, or at the end of month, depending on the amount of work that is needed to be injected in Cupertino’s software.

Apple Seeds OS X 10.11.4 Beta 6, Public Beta 6 And WatchOS 2.2 Beta 6 To Developers

Today, the Cupertino camp has released the sixth beta of OS X 10.11.4 to developers and public beta testers. Moreover, watchOS 2.2 beta six has also been released to developers for further testing. The latest release is followed by the fifth beta, which was distributed last week and the first beta was seeded earlier in January. Both of the forthcoming firmwares do not include a bevy of new features. Mostly, the update is concerned with bug fixes and under the hood improvements. In case of the Apple Watch’s watchOS 2.2, it is a significantly minor update. So let’s see some details on the sixth beta of OS X 10.11.4 and watchOS 2.2.

Apple Seeded OS X 10.11.4 Beta 6 To Developers And Public Beta Testers, WatchOS 2.2 Beta 6 To Developers

It’s been well over six weeks since Apple seeded the first beta of OS X 10.11.4. As we have mentioned earlier, the new software is not stocked with a plethora of new feature additions. However, the company did bring support for Live Photos in the Messages app. Moreover, the Notes app is now password protected. Apple is also working on importing data and notes from Evernote into the stock Notes app. The bug fixes included within the update has also fixed the issue regarding opening web links on Twitter, that previously, led to broken paths.
The sixth OS X 10.11.4 beta has a build number 15E61B, which can be downloaded from the Software Update Mechanism in the Mac App Store or Apple Developer Center. Currently, we have not seen any major additions in the update apart from the ones which have been mentioned. However, we will definitely keep you guys updated if something new is discovered.

With watchOS 2.2, you can now pair two Apple Watches with a single iPhone running iOS 9.3 beta already. At this point, we haven’t seen any user-facing features added in the updated beta. Nonetheless, if you want to proceed further and try it out yourself, you can install it through your iPhone running the new iOS 9.3 beta installed already. If you are compatible, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and navigate to the general tab and then Software update.
Make sure the Apple Watch has over 50 percent of charge remaining and connected to the host Apple Watch charger. Moreover, take note that your Apple Watch should be in the range of your iPhone running iOS 9.3 beta six. Currently, we have not discovered any significant changes in the watchOS 2.2 beta six. However, we will definitely keep you guys posted if something worth interest is discovered.

Apple Released OS X 10.11.4 Beta Seven To Developers And Public Beta Testers

Yesterday, Apple released the seventh beta of iOS 9.3 to both, developers and public beta testers. Although the new beta firmware does not boast new changes, the release simply fixed bugs for a much smoother experience. Moreover, under the hood improvements and performance enhancements were also part of the release. Just a day later, Apple seeds OS X 10.11.4 beta seven to developers and public beta testers. Let’s see what the company has included in the beta update and how it can be regarded different from the previous one.

Apple Seeds OS X 10.11.4 Beta Seven To Dvelopers And Public Beta Testers

At this point in time, we’re certain that the Cupertino camp will not add additional features. This is because the past few betas of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan have not contributed in additional features to the least. Probably, the seventh OS X 10.114 beta will focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements as well.
The seventh OS X 10.11.4 beta is seeded just over a week after seeding the sixth beta. Moreover, it has been well over a month since Apple released OS X 10.11.3. At this stage, the OS X 10.11.4 is in a testing phase, so maximum amount of bugs and issues can be eliminated before the final release. It seems that Apple will release the final build of its upcoming firmware update later this month.

Right now, the seventh OS X 10.11.4 beta boasts bug fixes and performance enhancements. However, if anything worth of major interest is discovered, we will definitely update the post. OS X 10.11.4 is most likely to see a spring release, along with tvOS 9.2, iOS 9.3 and watchOS 2.2. Probably, the release date could be as early as March 21, which is also the date of Apple’s spring media event.
This is it for now, folks. Did you download the seventh OS X 10.11.4 beta? Let us know if you discovered something unusual or new in the beta update.

OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Takes The Desktop Evolutionary Process Even Further – Recommended Download For All Mac Users

A lot of consumers might assume that Apple has hit a roadblock when it comes to certain decisions regarding its software, such as OS X, which barely saw any major change with the release of OS X El Capitan. But the truth is, El Capitan is a major evolutionary update on top of Yosemite that aims to solidify its position in the desktop space, bringing features which are meant for power users and whatnot.
That trend continues today with the release of OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 for Mac users, which brings with it a handful of changes, such as the ability to view Live Photos directly from within the Messages app, something which wasn’t possible before apart from the Photos app itself. Furthermore, you now have the ability to secure individual notes with a password in the Notes app. Handy stuff if you’re asking us.
Apart from the above mentioned changes, OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 features a bunch of bug fixes and performance enhancements that aim to iron out the overall Mac experience for users.

Bypassing Apple’s Protection Features, Zero-Day Exploit Puts All OS X Versions at Risk

Researchers have discovered a security vulnerability in System Integrity Protection (SIP), Apple’s latest security feature in OS X, that allows for local privilege escalation.

OS X SIP vulnerability puts all the versions of the OS at risk

Security researchers have discovered a critical zero-day vulnerability in all versions of the Apple’s OS X operating system. The vulnerability allows hackers to bypass Apple’s SIP protection feature and steal sensitive data from targeted devices.
SIP is designed to prevent malicious software from modifying protected files and folders on your Mac. SIP is an important security feature of OS X that was released with OS X El Capitan. The purpose of SIP is to protect the system from anyone with root access, limiting the actions of even an authorized root user in protected parts of the system, to reduce the chances of malicious code hijacking.
Now, security researchers have discovered a non-memory corruption bug that allows for local privilege escalation, bypassing this protection.
This vulnerability is a non-memory corruption bug that exists in every version of OS X and allows users to execute arbitrary code on any binary. It can bypass a key security feature of the latest version of OS X, El Capitan, the System Integrity Protection (SIP) without kernel exploits.

How does the OS X SIP vulnerability work

To exploit this vulnerability in System Integrity Protection, the hacker must compromise the target system first by using phishing or any other technique. This makes the vulnerability only work in a multi-part attack. The zero-day SIP vulnerability (CVE-2016-1757) is a non-memory corruption bug allowing hackers to execute arbitrary code on any targeted machine. The attack then escalates the malware’s privileges to bypass SIP and alter system files to stay on the infected system.
Researchers have said that this vulnerability could be used in highly targeted and state-sponsored attacks.
The exploit is a local privilege escalation type of exploit, meaning that you need an initial vector to run the exploit. This could be a phishing attack with some malware attachment, something like a fake Flash update, or remote code execution via a browser or any other application. So it’s definitely part of a multi-stage attack, which has the advantage of taking care of privilege escalation and SIP bypass in a single exploit.
While the vulnerability is easy to exploit, it’s super difficult to detect. Even when a user does manage to detect the infection, it will be impossible for them to fix it, since SIP would prevent the user from altering the malware in system files.
The SIP vulnerability exists in every version of OS X. Security researchers at SentinelOne responsible for the discovery reported the flaw to Apple, which included the patch in the latest OS X El Capitan 10.11.4. According to researchers, “other versions do not appear to have a patch for this specific bug from Apple’s Security Bulletin, meaning they are left vulnerable to this specific bug.”

Apple’s engineering team is in full swing it seems, and has deemed this day to be fit for releasing a bunch of beta software for all of its mobile devices as well as the Mac.
    OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan Beta 1

Available only through the Apple Developer Program portal, OS X 10.11.5 El Capitan beta 1 seems to be a bug fix and performance release aiming to make the entire Mac experience as smooth as possible across the board. Simply log into the Apple Developer Program website using your credentials, and grab the first beta build from the ‘Resources’ section.
    watchOS 2.2.1 Beta 1

watchOS is slowly evolving into a powerful little operating system by taking baby steps into the future, with watchOS 2.2.1 beta 1 being a clear sign that Cupertino’s wearable device has a long way to go before running out of air. Also it’s worth mentioning at this point that you cannot downgrade your Apple Watch to the public build if you have decided to update to watchOS 2.2.1 beta 1.

    tvOS 9.2.1 Beta 1

tvOS 9.2 was released a while back for Apple TV 4 and came packed a bunch of great features under the hood. And while we don’t have any complaints regarding Cupertino’s software for its set-top box, but it could definitely use some work in small corners, specially when it comes to performance. And today’s release seems to address that bit, as well as fix a few bugs in the process.
Just like the other betas, tvOS 9.2.1 beta 1 can be grabbed from the Apple Developer Program website under the ‘Resources’ tab. And in case you’re wondering, it’s a paid download and your Apple TV 4 must be registered with Apple if you’re going ahead with the installation process.
We encourage developers to get to grips with the newly released beta software to ensure that their apps and games work flawlessly. And in case there’s work needed to be done before Apple releases its software into the public domain, developers will have ample amount of time to fix things.
We will keep our readers updated regarding the new and improved features Apple has packed into iOS 9.3.2, OS X 10.11.5, watchOS 2.2.1, tvOS 9.2.1. Be sure to check back into this space for more updates and news regarding Cupertino’s new pre-release software!
And oh, if you’re a non-developer and happen to have an Apple Developer Program membership at hand – will you update to the newly released software? Let us know in the comments section below!
