    Samsung Tahoe

Samsung Is Working On A Massive Android Tablet With Decent Hardware specifications

Previously, it was reported that a massive 18.4 inch tablet featuring the Samsung logo was spotted at Zauba. Turns out the information was true all along because the South Korean tech giant is working on a massive 18.4 inch tablet that is going to be running Google’s Android platform. Most likely after hearing the strides that Microsoft is making with its upcoming Surface Pro 4, even Samsung is aiming to reduce the functionality gap between tablets and laptops.

Massive Android Tablet From Samsung Has Been Codenamed Tahoe; Will Be Running Exynos 7580

According to the details present on Sam Mobile, the massive Android tablet from Samsung will possess the codename Tahoe and is going to be incorporated with the company’s own developed Exynos 7580. Keep in mind that just because the model name of chipset is a little higher compared to Exynos 7420 does mean that it will perform better than the latter. In fact, the processor present inside Exynos 7580 is an octa-core Cortex-A53 that is running at a clock of 1.6 GHz.

Thankfully, Samsung Tahoe will provide support for a MicroSD card up to a capacity of 128 GB. In addition, the massive Android tablet will sport 2 GB of RAM, a 5,700 mAh battery and a resolution measuring at 1920 by 1080 pixels. Other specifications of the slate have been listed below:

    • 8 megapixel primary camera and a 2.1 megapixel secondary camera
    • Dimensions: 451.8 mm wide, 275.8 mm tall, and 11.9 mm thick

The source was not able to pinpoint the price of the massive Android tablet, but seeing as how it will feature an 18.4 inch screen, we should not expect it to come bearing a price-friendly stamp. Despite the fact that the large screen will cater to those who require products for work and entertainment related purposes, it is the Android OS that will keep the consumers somewhat limited. However, we will wait for pricing details and keep you guys updated on whether or not the slate is worth your hard earned cash.

Samsung’s 18.4-inch Tablet Moves Forward With Company Engaging Partners

When it comes to tablets, we’ve got a lot of top contenders out there. Starting from Google’s Nexus 9 that comes with the Tegra K1 on board, capable of delivering desktop grade graphics performance, to Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup that provides a nice bridge between tablets and notebooks, to Apple’s iPad Air 2 with the A8X, there’s no dearth of options for users to choose from. Well, Samsung’s been rumored to be working on something big over the past couple of weeks and we mean that literally. The Korean tech giant’s rumored 18.4-inch slate has popped up once again today and you can take a look at the details below.

Samsung Is Making Progress For Its 18-inch Slate With Talks With Telecom Providers

Manufacturers seem to be heading towards a new era of tablets these days, with the latest defining feature of new devices to be large screen sizes. We’ve heard plenty about Apple’s rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro already and today it’s Samsung’s turn, with the Korean manufacturer allegedly making some progress with its 18.4-inch slate. Samsung’s 18.4-inch tablet has already been spotted in India’s import/export database Zauba and the device has seen rumors surface that claim its operating system will be Microsoft’s Windows 10, rather than Android.
Well today, courtesy of folks over in China, we learn that Samsung has started talks with Korean telecom providers about promotion of its 18.4-inch device. The device is reportedly expected to enter mass production after October this year, but given the rarity of leaks surrounding it so far, we’d say Samsung has managed to keep the device under wraps very well this time around.

The telecom operators that Samsung has been in contact with include SK Telecom, LG U+ and KT, all Korean service providers. As to what Samsung expects its users to do with such a device; we still have no idea. An 18-inch tablet won’t be easy to carry around, so perhaps the company hopes more enterprise uses for the device. With tablets as multimedia devices seeing a reported decline, manufacturers seem to be shifting more towards professional use; a trend that we believe might also be influenced by the limited popularity of Microsoft’s Surface Pro lineup.
So there’s still a lot to learn about Samsung’s larger screened device and we expect more details to surface in the future if the device really does exist. Stay tuned for more and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Samsung To Take On Microsoft With Its Own Surface Product; Large Screen Tablets Inbound?

Samsung most likely knows by now that the globe is going to switch from bulky laptops to powerful tablets which feature impressive hardware configurations. In order to do this, the South Korean tech giant is gearing up to launch its own Surface clone that will take on Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4, a product which is expected to be officially announced very soon.

Samsung Might Be Launching Its 18.4 Inch Tablet That Will Go Head To Head Against Surface Pro 4, Even Though Its Specs Are Not That Impressive

Previously, we reported that Samsung was working on an 18.4 inch tablet, indicating that the tech firm was dead serious about targeting the market that was going to reduce the gap between laptops and productivity related tablets. However, the specifications are nowhere close to what Surface Pro 4 is going to house. After all, you simply cannot compare Samsung’s Exynos 7580 to the Skylake processors that are going to be present inside Microsoft’s flagship tablet.
Furthermore, Surface Pro 4 will have one crucial feature that Samsung’s large screen tablet might not be able to stack; having ample amounts of storage. Despite the fact that Surface Pro 4 is most likely going to be much more expensive compared to its larger screen sized rival, the one disadvantage that Samsung will have is that its large screen sized machine is going to be running Android, which is far less productive as compared to the Surface lineup and does not utilize system resources as efficiently as Windows.

However, before jumping to conclusions, Samsung can turn things around the limitations of the Android platform by bundling a detachable keyboard, along with a stylus that will be able to complete several functions (much like its Galaxy Note series of handsets). At this point, we are going to have to wait and see on how exactly is Samsung going to surprise us, because a product that you intend on using as a productive machine will keep you limited on the Android platform, so the company will have to tread carefully if it plans on facing off against Surface Pro 4.
We will keep you updated with the latest information as soon as we come across more details. Do you guys think that Samsung will be able to take on Surface Pro 4 with its own large screen tablet? Let us know your thoughts.

Samsung's huge 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet drops to $449.99

Samsung has dropped the price on its 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet, down from its launch price of $599.99 to $449.99.

The price being dropped to $449.99 is another $50 from the $499.99 it was at, as Samsung dropped the price by $100 two weeks after the Galaxy View was released. Amazon is offering the 18.4-inch Galaxy View tablet for $449.99, with B&H also getting in on the Samsung tablet price drop.
