    Microsoft Lumia 650

Microsoft working on another bland budget phone: the Lumia 650

The past few generations of mid-range and budget Windows Phones haven't been particularly amazing, and it seems like Microsoft wants to continue that trend, with the company currently readying the Lumia 650 as a new entry-level smartphone.
A render of the Lumia 650 has leaked via Teiba, revealing an uninteresting design that's a basic iteration of past Lumia handsets. The picture suggests the phone will feature a front speaker and dual-SIM connectivity, although not much else can be determined from a simple image of the device's front.
Rumored specs for the Lumia 650 include a 5.0-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. Again, these specs aren't revolutionary in the budget segment at all, so Microsoft will face some stiff competition against the likes of the Motorola Moto G 2015 and Asus Zenfone 2.
Compared to Microsoft's other recent budget Windows Phones, the Lumia 550, you're getting a faster SoC (up from a Snapdragon 210) and slightly larger display (up from 4.7-inches) if you choose the Lumia 650. Camera info hasn't been revealed, but nothing about the Lumia 650's other specifications suggests it will be particularly amazing.
There's no word on when Microsoft might officially reveal the Lumia 650, though you can expect it will launch with Windows 10 Mobile on board. Considering we're already seeing renders of the device in the wild, it's looking likely that the phone will be announced in the early parts of next year, possibly at MWC 2016.

Mid-Range Lumia 650 Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone Confirmed By Microsoft Marketing Exec

Microsoft’s first-party Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones are the first smartphones to ship running the company’s brand new Windows 10 Mobile operating system (check out Marco’s review of the Lumia 950 right here). Unfortunately for those with legacy Lumia devices, the wait for Windows 10 Mobile will be a bit longer, with Microsoft recently stating that it will not send out the over-the-air (OTA) update until next year.
In the mean time, Microsoft is working on a new mid-range smartphone that will slot in below the Lumia 950. The Lumia 650 has been rumored for quite some time, but Microsoft has never made any official comments on the device. However, the existence of the Lumia 650 has been confirmed by Microsoft Chief Marketing Officer Chris Capossela.
Capossela, speaking with Mary Jo Foley and Paul Thurrott on Windows Weekly, was asked when the device would be released. And instead of ignoring the question or giving a boilerplate “we don’t comment on announced products” statement, Capossela confirmed that the Lumia 650 hasn’t been given a definite release date at this point.

The Lumia 650 is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor (1.3GHz quad-core with integrated X5 LTE modem) paired with a meager 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD slot, 5-inch 720p display, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera.
Although Capossela was reticent to giving any launch details for the Lumia 650, it’s possible that we could see an announcement at the Mobile World Congress, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain in late February. The Lumia 640/640 XL were announced at the same event last year, so it’s within the realm of possibility for Microsoft to announce its successor around the same timeframe.
Regardless of when the Lumia 650 actually makes an appearance, we expect it to be priced significantly less than the Lumia 950, which is priced at $549 off-contract. For comparison, the Lumia 640 is priced at $59.99 off-contract direct from Microsoft.

    Details of last Lumia leaked

Lumia 650 will be out in Feburary
It looks like Microsoft’s Lumia 650 will be in the shops in February with a rather low key launch which befits a brand set to be replaced by the Surface.

According to Windows Central the launch date will be February 1 when Redmond Microsoft will reveal details about the device, including pricing and availability, through their official blog.
The spec for the White or black Windows 10 phone appears to be a 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 210 or 212 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with micro SD expansion
    A 5MP front-facing camera and a 8MP rear with LED flash.
The jury is still out as to whether it will have wireless charging. At the moment the plan is apparently not to have it.
There is a rumour that Microsoft will be showing off a 'Lumia 750' or 'Lumia 850' at the Mobile World Congress when most expected these to have been cancelled. But the 850 appears to have been getting certified in various countries like China and Indonesia. It might be just a regional flavour which Redmond is shipping out.
It does not make much sense if the Lumia 650 is the last Lumia. Redmond has made it clear that it is focusing on the flagship 'Panos phone', which is expected to be part of the Surface line later this autumn.

Microsoft could be launching its last Lumia ever next month

Microsoft wrote off its Nokia buyout deal last year, signifying potential changes to its Windows Phone line. It turns out that the company might be releasing its final Lumia smartphone next month in the form of the Lumia 650 and from there, it will be moving in a new direction.
This comes from sources speaking with Windows Central, claiming that the Lumia 650 will launch on the first of February though the launch will be kept fairly quiet as it is only a budget device aimed at businesses.

The final Lumia device is expected to feature a 5-inch 720p screen, 1GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 210 or 212 processor according to leaks but all official details will be revealed on Microsoft’s own blog next month.
This is all in spite of previous rumours that suggested that Microsoft could be set to launch a Lumia 850 and Lumia 750 at MWC next month. According to Windows Central those two devices were cancelled sometime last year. We don’t know what Microsoft intends to call its first-party Windows phones going forward just yet.

New Lumia 650 Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone Press Renders Show Slim Metal Frame

The leaks keep happening, yet Microsoft still isn’t ready to “officially” lift the veil on its latest mid-range Windows 10 Mobile smartphone: the Lumia 650. Just a few days ago, famed smartphone leaker Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) provided a press render showcasing the front of the device.
Today, a number of new press renders have surfaced showing the Lumia 650 from numerous angles, although none show the device from the rear. The renders clearly show off the smartphone’s thin 7.27mm metal-rimmed frame, which should give it a more premium feel than the much more expensive Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

As we’ve previously reproved, the Lumia 650 is spec’d as follows:

    • 5-inch 720p AMOLED display
    • Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC
    • 1GB RAM
    • 8GB or 16GB internal storage
    • microSD slot
    • 8MP rear camera
    • 5MP front-facing camera
    • 2000mAh battery
    • Available in black or white

Additional details uncovered today include reports that the Lumia 650 will initially be available from Cricket Wireless. Off-contract pricing in the United States has been pegged at sub-$200, which is a far cry from the $549 and $649 off-contract prices of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

We were initially expecting to see an announcement for the Lumia 650 on February 1st, but that date has come and gone. There are still a few more weeks before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, so we’ll possibly witness an announcement before the show starts.
With that being said, the Lumia 650 won’t be the only mid-range Windows 10 Mobile smartphone making the rounds early this year. VAIO announced its Phone Biz this week, which will debut with a Snapdragon 61 processor, 5.5-inch FHD display, and an aluminum unibody design.

Das duas uma, ou reina a incompetência na equipa que desenvolve estes equipamentos ou então a própria Microsoft quer que o seu sistema operativo móvel falhe. 200$ por isto???? Eles estão a brincar ou que?!

Microsoft Lumia 650 up for pre-order in Europe

    Just a tad over €200
As you know, Microsoft has unveiled its affordable Lumia 650 smartphone earlier today and now it has appeared all around Europe and you can find it available for pre-order.

While the sale of the new Microsoft Lumia 650 should officially start on February 18th and 19th depending on the region in Europe, the new Microsoft smartphone is already available for pre-order in the UK, Germany, France and Italy.
While we honestly expected the price to be a bit lower, the situation is a bit different as it is currently up for pre-order in the UK with a price set at £160, while in both Germany and France, it goes for €230. Italy got a shorter stick and it cost €240 there. Rest of the prices should be quite similar in the rest of the Europe and it is definitely a premium over US $200 that it has been announced earlier today.
In case you missed it earlier today, Microsoft's latest Lumia 650 smartphone packs a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 212 SoC, with four Cortex-A7 CPU cores clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable via microSD card slot. It also has a rear 8-megapixel camera and 5-megapixel front one. The rest of the specifications include LTE is Cat 4, Bluetooth v4.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, NFC and a 2,000 mAh user-replaceable battery.
In case you are for some weird reason hooked up on this smartphone, you can pre-order it at Microsoft's Store.

Lumia 650 Windows 10 Mobile Smartphone Available To Preorder For $199 Off-Contract

All signs are pointing to Microsoft’s Lumia 650 being the end of the line for the long-running Lumia smartphone family. First ushered in by Nokia, then absorbed by Microsoft, it now looks as though Microsoft will pin its future smartphone hopes on in-house designed “Surface” phones.
But before we get to that point, Microsoft has to actually get the Lumia 650 out the door. And today, Microsoft took the first step by putting the smartphone up for preorder in the United States and Canada. Although you can preorder the Lumia 650 today, it won’t actually ship until April 1st.
When it comes to the actual smartphone, don’t let its premium finish fool you into thinking that this is a high-end phone. Yes, the Lumia 650 has metallic trim running around its perimeter that you won’t find in its pricier siblings — the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL — but its specs aren’t too far removed from last year’s Lumia 640.

That means you’ll be treated to 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor with a just 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, microSD slot (expandable up to 200GB), a 5-inch OLED 720p display, dual SIMs 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11n, LTE connectivity, NFC support and a removable 2000mAh battery. Given the low-end processor, you won’t be able to take advantage of Continuum on the Lumia 650 and wireless charging is also a no-show.
The Lumia 650’s pre-order price is a relatively reasonable $199 off-contract for the dual-SIM model. We haven’t heard any word about carrier-subsidized versions (which will carry a much lower price tag), but word on the street is that Cricket will carry phone in the near future.
If the Lumia 650 is indeed that last smartphone to wear the Lumia branding, it’s unfortunate that it’s going out with such a whimper. However, we can at least take solace in the fact that Panos Panay and his band of merry men and women are surely cooking up a kickass, premium Surface phone that is a worthy of carrying the Windows 10 Mobile torch.
