    MacBook Pro (2016)

2016 MacBook Pro Revamp Concept Looks Dope – Images

According to rumors flying on the Web, Apple is set to release a new set of MacBook Pro notebooks this year which are going to be faster, and of course, thinner, compared to the current lineup. But what will the new notebooks visually look like is anyone’s guess at this point. One designer took a bold step and took it upon himself in conceptualizing Apple’s future Pro notebook, and the results are actually quite staggering.

The 2016 MacBook Pro Looks Epic, But It Could Use A Little Work To Become Absolutely Perfect

Rather than going all out and design something from the ground up, Martin Hajek redesigned the current 12-inch Retina MacBook and gave it a bigger display, while also moving things around a little. The results? Beautiful, to say the least.
Check out the entire gallery down below. Make sure you click on the image itself to get a larger view.

So there is this rumour about a new, thin design for the MacBook Pro..

I took my 3D model of the MacBook (you can download it by clicking here) and scaled it up.
    A bit.
    To like 15″ size.
Below are some comparisons with the current retina Macbook Pro (15″) and the 12″ MacBook.

    PS.
I’m sure that it will come in other colours than rosé gold…
The new 2016 MacBook Pro concept indeed looks stunning if you’re asking us. But the one thing that looks slightly out of place is the keyboard, and we believe that it could use a little more work so that it doesn’t look out of place. Rest is all good, we believe.
Given how Apple has started to melt its Rose Gold color option over all its hardware lineup, it would be quite refreshing to see if Apple pulls off the same move on the upcoming 2016 MacBook Pro as well. Apart from that, we really wish the notebook is available in the Space Gray color option. But of course, we can never be too sure what Apple’s plan might be. It’s quite possible the company will again stick to a silver notebook.
What do you think about the above concept by Martin Hajek? Do you think Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro should be made in this image, or are you expecting totally different? Be sure to leave your thoughts and comments in the section below.

How To Lock / Password Protect Notes On Mac – Tutorial

Here’s how you can lock down (password protect) your notes created in Notes app on Mac OS X El Capitan.

With the release of iOS 9.3 and OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan, Apple brought to the table a new party trick, allowing users to lock down / password protect their notes in the official Notes app for safekeeping. While we have already covered in detail how the feature works in iOS 9.3, today we’ll be covering the very same for OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan.
Without further ado, let’s jump right into action!
Here’s How To Password Protect / Lock Down Your Notes On Your Mac

    1. First and foremost, make sure you have OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan installed onto your Mac. Click on the ‘Apple’ logo in the menu bar, and then click on ‘About this Mac.’ Under the ‘Overview’ tab, just check the version number of OS X El Capitan running on your Mac.

If you haven’t installed OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan already then you can do so directly from the Mac App Store. It’s absolutely free and worth the upgrade.
    2. With that out of the way, launch the Notes app on your Mac.
    3. Create a new note or select to open an existing one.

    4. See the ‘Lock’ button as shown in the screenshot? Click on it, and then click on ‘Lock This Note.’

    5. You’ll be required to enter your password at this point, so do so when prompted for it, then click ‘OK.’
    6. Click on the ‘Lock’ icon again and then ‘Close All Locked Notes’ to hide the contents of the note from being viewed as well.

    7. Simply right-click on the locked note and then click on ‘Remove Lock’ and enter your password to unlock your note. Simple.
Locking down / password protected notes are extremely handy if you have a lot of personal information at hand and don’t want to fall victim to a privacy breach. With OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan or iOS 9.3, you can rest assured that things will be as watertight as they ever can be.
We highly recommend that users make use of this feature at every given point, after all, there’s nothing better keeping things under a proper lock. The best thing about this feature, without a doubt, is the fact that it’s absolutely free for all users. You can’t deny that at any cost, right?
If you found the above guide useful, then be sure to let us know about it in the comments section below.

OWC USB-C Dock for 2015 MacBook Review

Just last month, I had the opportunity to check out the latest Thunderbolt 2 dock from OWC, and now this month they have launched the USB-C version aimed at MacBook users looking to expand their connectivity over the single USB-C port which Apple deployed.

The USB-C dock from OWC is my first experience with a full-on solution. While USB-C will no doubt be more flexible than its predecessors, OWC is looking to start things off right. Via the rear USB-C port, we have a branch of connectivity that includes an SD card slot and four USB 3.0 ports with two capable of 1.5A charging. Additionally, we have gigabit Ethernet and HDMI output and one of the most significant features, an 80w power supply that is capable of charging the MacBook.

Compatibility of this solution, of course, includes OS X and optionally a Windows PC with a USB-C port. MSRP for the OWC USB-C Dock listed at $159.99 with a two-year warranty.

Packaging for the USB-C Dock gives a clear image of the device on the front while marketing information is listed across the bottom

On the back side, OWC has taken the extra step to give you images of the front and rear with all the options available.

The scope of delivery includes the power brick, user guide, and dock. OWC was also kind enough to supply a USB-C cable.
