MSI GeForce GTX 1650 Gaming X 4 GB Review

Nvidia’s Q1 revenues down 31% to $2.22 billion, beating modest estimates

Nvidia reported earnings and revenues that were well below last year’s figures, but the graphics and artificial intelligence chip company beat analyst expectations and is climbing back up after a couple of weak quarters.Nvidia reported revenues of $2.22 billion, down 31% from a year ago, for the first fiscal quarter, which ended April 28. Non-GAAP earnings per share were 88 cents, compared with $2.05 a share a year ago. But those numbers beat expectations. In after-hours trading, Nvidia’s stock was up 6% to $169.70 a share.
Analysts expected Nvidia to report earnings per share of 81 cents on revenues of $2.19 billion. For the full year, revenues are expected to be $11.05 billion. GAAP earnings are expected to be 56 cents a share.
For the past couple of quarters, the Santa Clara, California-based company has been recovering from the slow launch of its new RTX graphics cards and the aftermath of the cryptocurrency bust.
Nvidia is in the middle of a refresh cycle for its graphics processing units (GPUs), based on its RTX architecture, which enables real-time ray tracing. Those chips got off to a slow start last fall, as games weren’t ready to make use of them.
But the company is growing again, compared to the fourth fiscal quarter.

“Nvidia is back on an upward trajectory,” said company founder and CEO Jensen Huang in a statement. “We’ve returned to growth in gaming, with nearly 100 new GeForce Max-Q laptops shipping. And Nvidia RTX has gained broad industry support, making ray tracing the standard for next-generation gaming.”
He added, “Despite the near-term pause in demand from hyperscale customers, the application of AI continues to accelerate. AI adoption is accelerating in the world’s largest industries, moving beyond the cloud to the edge, where AI processing has to be instantaneous. We’re excited about our pending [$6.9 billion] acquisition of Mellanox, which will help us drive datacenter architecture for high-performance computing and AI from the cloud to the edge.”
GPU business revenue was $2.02 billion, down 27% from a year earlier and up 2% sequentially.
The year-on-year decrease reflects declines in gaming and datacenter revenue, as well as the absence of $289 million in [computer maker] revenue from cryptocurrency mining processors (CMP).
Tegra Processor business revenue — which includes automotive, system-on-chip modules for gaming platforms, and embedded edge AI platforms — was $198 million, down 55% from a year ago and down 12% sequentially. The year-on-year decrease primarily reflects a decline in shipments of SOC modules for gaming platforms.
Gaming revenue was $1.05 billion, down 39% from a year ago and up 11% sequentially. The year-on-year decrease primarily reflects a decline in shipments of gaming GPUs and SOC modules for gaming platforms. The sequential increase primarily reflects growth in gaming GPUs.
Professional visualization revenue was $266 million, up 6% from a year earlier and down 9% sequentially. The year-on-year increase reflects strength across both desktop and mobile workstation products. The sequential decrease largely reflects a seasonal decline.
Datacenter revenue was $634 million, down 10% from a year ago and down 7% sequentially, primarily reflecting a slowdown in purchases by certain hyperscale and enterprise customers, partially offset by growth in inference sales.
Automotive revenue was $166 million, up 14% from a year earlier and up 2% sequentially, primarily reflecting growth in AI cockpit modules.
Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and other revenue was $99 million, down 74% from a year ago and down 15% sequentially. The year-on-year decrease is primarily due to the absence of $289 million from CMP sales.

    Rumor: NVIDIA Super is a Refreshed GeForce RTX 2060 ($249), 2070 ($399), 2080 ($599)

On the web there is active discussion on what that 'Super' video was all about. A logical deduction can be applied here. GeForce RTX 2070, 2080 (Ti) are not doing so well due to pricing. The RTX 2060 has an alternative in GTX 1650 and 1660. So what remains?, yeah at least a refresh for 2070 and 2080 with AMD NAVI in sight.
A new a rumor surrounding the NVIDIA Super Teaser Trailer that appeared a few days ago surfaced, the rumor suggests that NVIDIA will release new (refreshed) RTX 2060, 2070 and 2080 graphics cards, and that they will cost $249, $399 and $599 respectively. Before we continue, it's all speculation up-to this okay?
Word right now is that NVIDIA will be releasing alternatives for the RTX 2060, RTX 2070 and RTX 2080. The cards would get faster GDDR6 memory, but also higher clock rates due to binning the GPUs. Naturally, when things get a notch faster you expect them to be priced higher, now another rumor contradicts that claim as Nvidia would be planning to undercut the price by $100. If you tally things up then in chronological order the MSRP would be $249, $399 and $599 respectively.
A $399 price would at the very least bring the 2070 SUPER in the NAVI playing field pricing and likely performance wise. The timing of all this is just silly though, in the middle of the summer vacation time. It is now suggested that NVIDIA will present the new Super products (super charged) at E3 2019, trying to steal some thunder from AMD, who is expected to make announcements regarding Navi at E3.
Yeah, what will these cards be called .. like GeForce RTX 2070 / 2080 SUPER edition? Also, if correct, questions do arise as what will happen with the pricing structure of the currently RTX line, or will they simple slowly be replaced?

CONFIRMED: RTX SUPER to be announced on July 2nd

NVIDIA has confirmed announcement and launch dates for GeForce RTX Super series to the press. All their SKUs will be made public on July 2nd. This is the embargo on the news for all three cards. When it comes to reviews only 2070S and 2060S embargo will lift on the same day. The RTX 2080 SUPER review embargo has not been decided yet by NVIDIA (officially it’s TBD — or ‘later in July’).
The information from NVIDIA does not confirm if SUPER series will be available on the same day as reviews (hard launch / on-shelf date).
Custom cards need to wait, because, why not

Interestingly, NVIDIA has decided to postpone the review embargo for custom cards to July 9th. It should be said as it is, it is a very bad decision, which will affect the sales of AIC cards. The criticism is justified and we are probably the only site that can tell you this right now (because everyone else is under embargo). It is not only anti-consumer, whose opinion will be based on Founders Edition cards only, but also anti-partner behavior.

It is worth noting that the dates were correctly predicted by Usman Pirzada from Wccftech. The only part that cannot be confirmed at the time is July 23rd for RTX 2080 SUPER.

Essencialmente serão as antigas remarcadas pelo que se sabe...

    2060 Super é a 2070
